Special Assignments
Special assignments are quests that are not directly related to Research Commission's primary investigation. You will need to progress to a certain point in the story before you are able to undertake special assignments. You may not be able to accept special assignments during some specific Iceborne quests.

When a special assignment has been triggered as a quest, you can post it by accessing the Quest Counter (The Handler or Hub Lass) or Quest Board > Post a New Quest > Special Assignments .

Assignments are story Quests in Monster Hunter World (MHW) . Players will need to complete these quest to progress the story, access the game, and increase their Hunter Rank (HR).
MHW Assignments
These are the story quests of the base game. Players do not need the expansion to complete these quests, that go from Low Rank to High Rank.
All assignments have a 50 minutes time limit and the "Faint 3 times" failure conditions.
Master Rank Assignments
With the kirin quest for base game are you sure there's nothing else cause I can't get past 50 so...

No hunt you can kill or capture where slay is you can only kill it meaning the monster is uncapture able

I still think they made a mistake by making Legiana AFTER Radobaan, like we already been to Rotten Vale but then before Legiana quest they keep saying stuffs like they've never been there

Are quest HR ranks accurate here? Been looking for an assigned quest guide/list with the ranks and some pages i've looked at have been slightly different. As far as I can tell they are accurate but i'm only on the sixth story mission so don't know any farther than that. Thanks.

Who picked the format for this page? Its totally asinine to try to split the quests up this way. Whats wrong with just 2 columns of "low rank" and "high rank"?

The hunter keeps telling me that I can accept the quest blazing sun, but it is nowhere to be found, and the special assignments menu under high/low rank is grayed out, so i can't access it. I already sent a request to Capcom on their support website, hoping i get an answer soon.
Yes because SH is the one who gives you the quest and believe is in the cutscenes, with you having her and not your actual handler it may be have voided the quest until you have your own handler back for story reasons and how it is coded. #3. Special Assignments Not Showing Up. k I know I am just being stupid but I have iceborne, have completed the full base game (after , and I am a couple quests into Iceborne. I want to unlock Lunastra since I never did that, but to do that I have to first beat a deviljho. To do that I have to do a special assignment.
Master Rank Special Assignments (Iceborne Expansion) Master Rank Special Assignments are available in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne from October 10th 2019, with Patch 11.01. Players can find Purple exclamation marks in Seliana to begin special assignments. The first one is Sterling Pride, given to you by the Admiral in Seliana. Level.

also make sure to come back to high rank events once you hit Hunter rank 50 to unlock essential gear like rocksteady and evasion mantle. the Hunter rank 50 events with elders and tempered monsters help a ton to unlock those mantles within few hours. also check the greatest jagras event drops a ton of decorations. 1. I recently bought iceborne and I can no long access special assignments. I still had the behemoth one and I wanted to do side quest with the gajalaka in the Witcher special assignment. Nerevar Oct 5, 2020 @ 2:28pm. you have to speak to the npc with purple marker first before its available. also of note : if you are playing trough icebornes story there is a certain point (around fighting barioth for the first time) where you cannot accept special assignments until the story is progressed past that point. #1.

Across the Lost Path is a Master Rank Special Assignment in Monster Hunter World Iceborne (MHW).This assignment was added with patch 12.01 in December 5th 2019 on consoles. Optional quests are repeatable and unlocked after completing specific points in the main story via Assignments.Special Assignments are DLC content that is added with free updates after the game's release.

There is a point in the Iceborne story where you partner up with the Serious Handler, during that time Special Assignments will be unavailable until you progress more into the story. My friend posted the quest to kill Lunasta/Teostra and the quest just doesn't show up for me at all.
