Professor Weasley’s Assignment is the thirty-sixth main quest in Hogwarts Legacy. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Professor Weasley’s Assignment Mission.

Requirement:  having completed Main Quest: Fire and Vice , Level 20 Reward:  150 XP, Transformation Quest Info: I attended Professor Weasley’s Transfiguration class, and afterward, she assessed my abilities and progress in the school year.

Objectives:

Collect the Field Guide Page in the Underground Harbour

Collect the field page from the book on intermediate transfiguration in the library, attend transfiguration class during the day, speak with professor weasley, starting location: professor weasley’s assignment.

We’ve freed a captive dragon with Poppy Sweeting, but to continue on our main quests we first need to complete Professor Weasley’s Assignment. To do so, we must first need to collect two specific Field Guide Pages in the wild.

If you have it active, you can warp to the Boathouse floo flame then swim to the marker. As you head towards the marker, look for a cave entrance on the left leading into the Underground Harbor. As soon as you enter, climb the docks to find the page, then loot the area.

Now warp to The Library Annex > Library and then head upstairs to the quest marker to find a student called Sophronia Franklin. Talk to her and she will challenge you to a small quiz about the lore of Harry Potter. The solutions to her questions are: The Golden Snidget > Felix Felicis > The Deathly Hallows > The Quaffle > False. Then, use Revelio to collect the Page. Giving the wrong answers doesn’t affect anything, you can grab the page regardless.

Now warp to the Astronomy Wing > Transfiguration Classroom and start the class. Advance the time through the map if need be. During the class, you’ll learn Transformation. As usual, steady your wand with the left stuck and guide it along the symbol’s path to learn the spell. Don’t let go of the left stick and remember to press the corresponding button to gain speed and lose the red spark.

Completing Professor Weasley’s Assignment

Hogwarts Legacy Can You Change the Weather

This assignment requires you to collect two Field Guide Pages, attend Transfiguration Class and speak with the Professor to complete it. Here are the steps for finishing this mission and earning the nice rewards it offers.

  • To do this, warp to the Boathouse by using the Floo Network (if you’ve unlocked it)
  • After that, swim to the market and search for a cave which leads to the Underground Harbour
  • The book page should be around the docks area.
  • This challenge requires you to be in the upstairs of the Library
  • You will find a student named Sophronia Franklin, who will ask you to complete her trivia quiz about the Harry Potter universe.
  • Once you have solved these questions, use your Revelio spell to obtain the page. You still get the page no matter which answers you give, but try to complete the quiz!
  • Warp to the Astronomy Wing and then walk to Transfiguration Class
  • If class isn’t ready yet, simply speed it up by using your map.
  • In this class you will be taught the Transformation spell, useful for many things in the game.
  • The last step requires no explanation, because it is to simply speak with Professor Weasley. After that, the mission is over! Congratulations!

Hogwarts Legacy Professor Weasley’s Assignment Guide: What Are the Correct Answers to Sophronia’s Quiz?

Image of J.T. Isenhour

Each professor in Hogwarts Legacy has some extra lessons that you need to complete for you to progress through the game. These lessons tend to just be extra goals to focus on while you are going about the game, such as dodging 10 spells by evading instead of blocking them. However, the ending tasks for each professor tend to be a bit more difficult. In particular, professor Weasley’s final task will have you dealing with a surprise quiz from Sophronia. Let’s go over the answers to all of Sophronia’s quiz questions in Hogwarts Legacy .

Sophronia’s Quiz Answers in Hogwarts Legacy

You might get taken off guard when you are first prompted to answer these quiz questions. This is because the task only asks you to collect two field guide pages with one of them being found in the library. The quiz comes from the fact that Sophronia has already grabbed the page and will only give it to you if you answer her questions.

Unlike the Weasley potion class feather situation , nothing changes whether you give the right or wrong answer. However, it will feel nice to one-up this little quiz-giver by getting everything right. With that said, here are the answers to all the questions in each round:

  • Before the invention of the Snitch, which magical creature was used in Quidditch? Golden Snidget
  • Which potion is known as Liquid Luck? Felix Felicis
  • The Tale of the Three Brothers invokes which magical artifacts? The Deathly Hallows
  • Which ball in Quidditch is the largest? Quaffle
  • Do Polyjuice Potions allow you to change species? No

After you manage to complete the first round of questions, you will be given the page and can be on your merry way. However, you can later come back to test your Harry Potter trivia knowledge on two more sets of questions that Sophronia has to offer. You don’t have to answer them outside of doing it for completion rewards, but if you do want to finish all of her quizzes the answers are as follows:

  • What was the name of the governing body that preceded the Ministry of Magic? Wizard’s Council
  • Which dragon breed is the smallest? Peruvian Vipertooth
  • Who founded Hogsmeade? Hengist of Woodcroft
  • The Hidebehind is a crossbreed of which creature? Demiguise
  • What is the only known spell that can repel a Lethifold? The Patronus charm
  • Who invented the Law of Elemental Transfiguration? Gamp
  • What is the Hogwarts school motto? Never tickle a sleeping dragon
  • Which magical creature is the only one known to produce eggs from its mouth? Runespoor
  • Where is Ilvermog School of Witchcraft and Wizardry located? Mount Greylock
  • What is the name of the strongest love potion known to wizardkind? Amortensia
  • Emeric the Evil was killed by whom? Egbert the Egregious
  • If a chaser keeps their hand on the quaffle as it goes through the goal in Quidditch, which foul are they committing? Haversacking
  • What is the unusual side-effect of being bitten by the Mackled Malaclaw? Bad luck
  • What plant excretes Stinksap? Mibulus Mimbletonia
  • Pepperup Potion evolved from a remedy potion created by whom? Linfred of Stinchcombe
  • What does the elder wizard leave in the hopping pot for his son? A single slipper
  • The Snallygaster is native to where? North America
  • Which muggle knight is featured on the Fountain of Fair Fortune? Sir Luckless
  • What is the other name for the world’s largest kelpie? Loch Ness Monster
  • What was the name of the first Minister of Magic? Ulick Gamp

Once you manage to complete all three stages of Sephronia’s quizzes, you will be rewarded with some Edurus potions as well as some Wiggenwald and Maxima. You will receive these rewards whether you get the answers right or wrong so don’t worry if accidentally select the wrong one. However, it is quite nice to get these rewards no matter which system you play on, unlike the rewards from the PlayStation Exclusive quest .

Hogwarts Legacy  is set to be released on February 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are set to become available on April 4th, 2022.

Hogwarts Legacy Player Points Out Major Downside To Being a Hufflepuff Student

Hogwarts legacy's emphasis on combat shouldn't be lost in its sequel, honkai: star rail leaks version 2.4 light cones, quick links, professor weasley's assignment, sophronia franklin's quiz answers, rewards for completing sophronia franklin's quiz, what does the transformation spell do.

Hogwarts Legacy takes place approximately one hundred years before the events of Harry Potter . As such, it follows a completely different character during their time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. On their journey, they will encounter all manner of people and creatures, but some stand out more than others.

RELATED: Hogwarts Legacy: Hogsmeade Field Guide Locations

The protagonist of Hogwarts Legacy will encounter an array of students during their time at Hogwarts, some of whom will ask the player to complete tasks for them. While most of these tasks can be completed with relative ease, some players will likely struggle with the task Sophronia Franklin provides .

Updated June 19, 2023, by Justin Flynn: It's possible to complete most of the quests in Hogwarts Legacy through sheer brute force and dedication, but this isn't the case with Professor Weasley's Assignment. To complete this quest, the player must locate two Field Guide Pages, one of which can only be acquired by partaking in a quiz provided by Sophronia Franklin.

To progress the quest, players need only answer five questions, but those hoping to really put their knowledge of the wizarding world to the test can elect to answer twenty more. Answering all twenty-five will reward the protagonist with some helpful items, but doing so can be extremely difficult if players aren't familiar with the Harry Potter universe. That said, most of the answers can be discovered while exploring the world of Hogwarts Legacy, speaking with NPCs, and finding Field Guides Pages, but at this point in the game's story, it's likely players have yet to uncover the information needed to answer all of Sophronia's questions correctly.

To acquire the Transformation spell from Professor Weasley's Transfiguration class, players must seek out two Field Guides in Hogwarts. To find the Field Guide located in the Underground Harbor , players should track the quest via the map and follow the path until they reach the lift that descends into the cavern below the castle.

For those struggling to find the entrance from inside the castle, it is possible to reach the Underground Harbor from outside by traveling to the Boathouse and flying to the Underground Harbor on a broom . To enter, however, the broom must be dismounted, and the protagonist must swim inside. The Field Guide can then be found by casting Revelio on the furthest pier on the right while facing the Great Lake.

RELATED: Hogwarts Legacy: How To Complete Spot Removal

To find the second Field Guide , the player must travel to the library, climb the stairs to the first floor, and approach Sophronia Franklin in the far corner. Obtaining the Field Guide requires the protagonist to cast Revelio, but since Sophronia is currently in possession of the book Professor Weasley wants examined, the player will need to convince her to hand it over before it can be acquired.

To obtain the second Field Guide, players will need to answer a series of questions relating to the lore of the wizarding world . Thankfully, progressing the story only requires that five questions be answered, but they can be quite tricky if the player isn't familiar with the topics. For those who are unsure of the correct answers, these are the options they should choose:

  • Before the invention of the Golden Snitch, which magical creature was used in a game of Quidditch? - The Golden Snidget.
  • Which potion is commonly referred to as "Liquid Luck?" - Felix Felicis.
  • The Tale of the Three Brothers involves which magical artefacts? - The Deathly Hallows.
  • Which ball in Quidditch is the largest? - The Quaffle.
  • True or false: Polyjuice Potion allows the drinker to change species? - False.

Upon answering these five questions correctly, Sophronia will permit the protagonist to collect the Field Guide, but players who wish to test their knowledge of the Harry Potter universe are more than welcome to continue taking her quiz. From here, the quiz gets a great deal harder, but there's no shame in not knowing the answers.

  • What governmental body directly preceded the Ministry of Magic? - The Wizards’ Council.
  • Which dragon breed is the smallest? - The Peruvian Vipertooth.
  • Who founded the village of Hogsmeade? - Hengist of Woodcroft.
  • The Hidebehind was accidentally created by cross-breeding a ghoul with what other magical creature? - The Demiguise.
  • What is the only spell known to repel a Lethifold? - The Patronus Charm.
  • Who published the law of Elemental Transfiguration? - Gamp.
  • What does the Hogwarts motto translate to? - Never tickle a sleeping dragon.
  • Which magical creature is the only one known to produce eggs through its mouth? - The Runespoor.
  • Where is the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry located? - Mount Greylock
  • What is the most powerful love potion known to Wizardkind? - Amortentia.

For those who managed to answer these ten questions, they will now be permitted to answer another ten that are equally, if not more challenging. Much of this quiz requires players to already have amassed extensive knowledge of the wizarding world, so it is likely most players will struggle with answering correctly, especially at this point in the game.

  • Emeric the Evil was killed in a duel against whom? - Egbert the Egregious.
  • If a Chaser keeps their hand on the Quaffle as it goes through the goal, what foul are they committing? - Haversacking.
  • A bite from a Mackled Malaclaw has the unusual side effect of causing what? - Bad Luck.
  • What plant excretes Stinksap? - Mimbulus Mimbletonia.
  • The Pepperup Potion evolved from a remedy created by which 12th-century wizard? - Linfred of Stinchcome.
  • In The Wizard and the Hopping Pot, what does the elder wizard leave for his son in the Hopping Pot? - A single slipper.
  • The Snallygaster is native to which region of the world? - North America.
  • Who is the Muggle knight featured in The Fountain of Fair Fortune? - Sir Luckless.
  • The world’s largest Kelpie is also known by what other name? - The Lock Ness Monster.
  • Who was the first Minister for Magic? - Ulick Gamp.

Upon answering all twenty-five of these quiz questions, Sophronia will praise the protagonist for their knowledge of magical history. She will then thank the protagonist for participating in her quiz and will allow them to access the Field Guide Page she was previously guarding. When the conversation ends, the player will receive a Wiggenweld Potion , a Maxima Potion , and an Eduras Potion .

RELATED: Hogwarts Legacy: Maxima Potion Guide - How To Get The Recipe And Ingredients

The rewards earned from completing Sophronia's quiz can be acquired elsewhere , so players won't miss out on anything special if they answered any questions incorrectly . It's also important to mention that, even if the player's answers were all wrong, they will still be able to achieve 100% Completion if they wish to.

Once the Field Guide has been obtained, the player should travel back to Professor Weasley's classroom, where they will be treated to a short cutscene that explains what Transfiguration entails.

When the cutscene ends, the player will be free to approach Professor Weasley, who will praise the protagonist for collecting the Field Guides before teaching them how to cast the Transformation spell . She will then comment on the protagonist's progress thus far before allowing them to practice their new spell in the safety of her classroom. The Transformation spell is especially handy for those who wish to experience a more humorous side of combat, as it can be used to transform enemies into bizarre things.

At its base level, the Transformation spell can be used to completely remove an enemy from the battle by turning them into an inanimate object. Said object can then be thrown at other enemies to deal some damage. If players use the spell and decide not to throw the enemy-turned-object, the affected enemy will eventually regain their original form.

As a Control spell , casting the Transformation spell at an enemy defending themselves with a yellow shield will cause the shield to break , exposing the enemy to whatever other spells the player has access to, all while transforming the target into an object.

If players wish to enhance the Transformation Spell's potential, they can do so by purchasing the Transformation Mastery Talent from the Spells Talent category in the pause menu. With this ability unlocked, casting the Transformation Spell at an enemy will turn them into an explosive object , which can then be thrown at other enemies to deal some serious damage.

To unlock this Talent, players must first ensure that their character has reached Level 22 and that they have at least one Talent Point to spare.

It's also important to note that the Transformation spell won't work on all enemies . If cast at a Troll or most of Hogwarts Legacy 's bosses , it will have no effect, so players should only use it when they believe an enemy is susceptible to being transformed.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with a Switch release scheduled for November 14th, 2023.

Professor Weasley's Assignment Hogwarts Legacy Walkthrough

Collect the field guide page in the underground harbour.

With Poppy Sweeting , we were able to release a caged dragon, but before moving on to our major missions, we must finish Professor Weasley 's Assignment. To do this, we must first gather two certain Field Guide Pages from the wild. You can warp to the Boathouse floo flame and swim to the marker if it's active. Look for a cave opening going into the Underground Harbor as you move closer to the sign. As soon as you arrive, search the page on the docks before looting the area.

Collect the Field Page from the Book on Intermediate Transfiguration in the Library

In order to discover a student named Sophronia Franklin, warp to The Library Annex, then the Library, and finally go upstairs to the task marker. If you speak with her, she will issue a little quiz regarding Harry Potter knowledge. Utilize Revelio to obtain the Page after that. Incorrect answers have no bearing on anything; you can still take the page. The solutions to her questions are:

  • The Golden Snidget
  • Felix Felicis
  • The Deathly Hallows
  • The Quaffle

Attend Transfiguration Class During the Day

Start the class by warping to the Transfiguration Classroom's Astronomy Wing. If necessary, move the time forward through the map. You'll learn Transformation in this class. To learn the spell, steady your wand as usual and move it along the path of the symbol. Keep hold of the left stick, and don't forget to click the appropriate button to increase speed and extinguish the red spark.

Speak with Professor Weasley

Talk to Professor Weasley right after. This will mark the end of this Assignment.

Hogwarts Legacy Complete Walkthrough: Everything You Need to Know

The pull of a game as successful as Hogwarts Legacy is undeniable, but tackling it without a roadmap can leave you puzzled halfway through. Nevertheless, having a complete walkthrough that covers both the main plot and other relevant details will enhance your gaming experience. The game takes place within the familiar universe we all know, albeit in a different era — the 1800s, predating the events of the Harry Potter series. Hogwarts Legacy is an absorbing escapade RPG set in the wizarding world of the 1800s. Engineered by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros.

Games as a part of their Portkey Games franchise. Players assume the role of a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, experiencing life in the 19th century while uncovering hidden truths about the wizarding world. The game features open-world exploration, spellcasting, potion brewing, and the ability to tame magical beasts. Much like its gameplay, the game also worked its magic in real life, selling an astounding 12 million units and grossing half a billion dollars in its first two weeks on the market. And if you’re as pumped as we are to participate, here’s your complete rundown.

The Main Story Gives You a Nudge in Solving Mysteries in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy’ s central narrative follows the journey of a fledgling wizard caught in a Goblin rebellion. Roaming the legendary school of witchcraft and wizardry and its neighboring landscapes, you’ll find traces of a lost magical tradition. There are precisely 13 core quests essential to the game’s plot (excluding a cluster of mini-missions). Listed below are all core objectives, including mini-missions, laid out with simple but reliable tactics to smash through them.

Hogwarts Legacy Isn’t Hogwarts Legacy without Spells

Hogwarts Legacy screenshot

Without spells, the magical world that J.K. Rowling created wouldn’t exist in the same way, and the adventures of Hogwarts Legacy would be radically different. Combat in Hogwarts Legacy heavily leans on magic for both offense and defense. Spells are the fundamental building blocks of magic in the wizarding world. They enable witches and wizards to perform a wide range of magical feats, from basic charms to powerful curses.

Out of the 34 spells available in Hogwarts Legacy, you can allocate only 26 of them to your spell slots. Given the cap of 16 slots, you’ll need to make tough decisions about which spells complement your gameplay and which ones to ditch. Mix it up by using different sets for different purposes. For instance, ensure that you have at least one of either a control, damage, or force spells. Here are all the types of spells and what they manifest.

  • Transformation – This can transform objects and enemies into various forms.
  • Accio – Bring objects and enemies nearby.
  • Descendo – Slamming enemies down.
  • Depulso – It forcefully pushes away various enemies and objects.
  • Flipendo – Tosses objects and enemies up and behind.
  • Bombarda – Inflicts massive damage and triggers an explosion.
  • Confringo – It’s a fiery bolt that hurts enemies from a distance.
  • Diffindo – Efficiently cuts through targets from a distance.
  • Expelliarmus – It takes away enemy weapons and deals damage to all, regardless of whether they have weapons or not.
  • Incendio – It inflicts significant damage and can ignite specific items, but only if you’re close by.
  • Altering Spell – Modify the appearance of objects in the Room of Requirement.
  • Conjuring Spell – You can summon objects in the Room of Requirement.
  • Evanesco – Causes objects to vanish and replaces them with a moonstone.
  • Avada Kedavra – Wipes out enemies in a flash.
  • Crucio – Makes enemies wriggle in pain, suffering extra due to a curse.
  • Imperio – Forces enemies to fight with you briefly and also get cursed for extra damage.
  • Alohomora – It unlocks doors and containers globally, but you need magical skills to use it.
  • Ancient Magic Throw – It summons and tosses special items at enemies.
  • Ancient Magic – Its attacks deal huge damage and can break Shield Charms.
  • Basic Cast – Inflicts minor damage on enemies and objects.
  • Petrificus Totalus – This traps weak enemies briefly, while stronger ones escape faster.
  • Protego – This block spells and weapon strikes.
  • Revelio – Reveals hidden items, puzzles, loot, and enemies.
  • Stupefy – It temporarily stuns your enemies, which means they’ll take more damage from your
  • Beast Feed – True to its name, this is used to feed beasts.
  • Beast Petting Brush – This is for grooming beasts.
  • Disillusionment – This helps you blend in and, technically, sneak up on enemies.
  • Lumos – Aids vision in darkness and solving light-reliant puzzles.
  • Nab-sack – Magic pouch for saving and holding beasts.
  • Reparo – Enables rapid restoration of damaged items.
  • Wingardium Leviosa – Lifts and guides objects.
  • Levioso – Similar to Wingardium Leviosa, it lifts objects and enemies.
  • Arresto Momentum – Slows down objects and enemies.
  • Glacius – Enemies get frozen.

That covers all the essential information you’ll need to excel at Hogwarts Legacy. While there’s still much ahead of you, following this walkthrough will ensure smoother progression through the game’s quests and mysteries. Ten Points to Gryffindor! Harry Potter Houses, Explained

"But where to put you?"

The Big Picture

  • Harry Potter's houses, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff, play a significant role in the merchandising and community of Hogwarts.
  • Each house has its own set of traits and values that define its members, such as bravery in Gryffindor, cunning in Slytherin, intellect in Ravenclaw, and loyalty in Hufflepuff.
  • The sorting ceremony, conducted by the Sorting Hat, determines which house each student belongs to, based on their values rather than behavior, and provides a community of like-minded individuals.

Harry Potter 's houses have become a significant part of the franchise's merchandising, but they are often summed up inaccurately as the good one, the bad one, and the ones nobody remembers. Based on a real system in some boarding schools, the students are instantly divided between Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff . Each is named after a Hogwarts founder and offers a community to individual students. It also serves as an easy way to keep track of them, with each house having a teacher in charge and several designated older students expected to help. Professors McGonagall ( Maggie Smith ), Snape ( Alan Rickman ) , Flitwick ( Warwick Davis ), and Sprout ( Miriam Margolyes ) respectively guide and discipline their students when necessary. The houses also provide dorms and common rooms for the students, divide them into classes, make teams who compete against each other, and much more. Unlike the more realistic counterpart, the Hogwarts houses are divided by personality traits.

But because Harry ( Daniel Radcliffe ) naturally becomes friends with people in his own house, the films only fully explore Gryffindor. Yet each house has a unique set of traits that it values. The differences between Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff are about whom the students are and what each house's founder prioritized . Oftentimes, this means their ancient rivalries set them against each other. Together, Gryffindor's bravery, Slytherin's cunning, Ravenclaw's intellect, and Hufflepuff's loyalty describe each student at Hogwarts, making the sorting process important to school life.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

An orphaned boy enrolls in a school of wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world.

What Is the Sorting Ceremony in 'Harry Potter'?

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, first-year students perform a sorting ceremony in front of the entire school. This determines their house and, therefore, much of their life for the next seven years. Each takes a turn with the Sorting Hat ( Leslie Phillips ), which gets placed on their heads. The hat (which is hopefully enchanted against lice), claims to have been brought to life by the Founders themselves and "reads" the student in order to determine which house they fit. But this choice is not necessarily determined by how the student behaves but by what they value , which is why the Sorting Hat listens to Harry and doesn't put him in Slytherin upon his request. This also explains why some families end up in the same house as values are taught.

Some children are easier to sort than others. Ron Weasley ( Rupert Grint ) barely gets the hat on his head before it calls out "Gryffindor." Others sit on the stool for a while as the Sorting Hat debates. These are referred to as "hatstalls." Though none of the main characters fit the time qualifications for a hatstall, Minerva McGonagall was one in her day, as was Peter Pettigrew ( Timothy Spall ). But whatever house they end up in, each student is introduced to like-minded witches and wizards.

Gryffindor: The Brave

The most well-known house from the films is Gryffindor. With Harry, Ron, Hermione ( Emma Watson ), and many other memorable characters all in this house, it's hard to forget. These students wear red, and their symbol is a lion. The house represents bravery, fearlessness, nerve, and chivalry. Many Gryffindors took part in the war against Voldemort, including Neville Longbottom ( Matthew Lewis ), who never thought he belonged in Gryffindor but proved his valor by personally slaying Voldemort's snake and horcrux.

Gryffindor may boast many memorable members, but they are not all good. James Potter ( Adrian Rawlins ), Harry's father, was a Gryffindor, and despite his heroics, he wasn't without flaws . But more notably, Peter Pettigrew betrayed his friends and helped Voldemort, ultimately becoming the most recognizable Death Eater from Gryffindor. On a more day-to-day basis, the Gryffindor students are a loud and rambunctious lot but also noble . Because of their founder, Godric Gryffindor, they have a long-maintained rivalry with Slytherin and are often over-competitive, but those are only side effects of their fearlessness.

Slytherin: The Cunning

Harry Potter explores Slytherin the most next to Gryffindor but paints them in a bad light. Their green uniforms and snake mascot are infamous. Once the house of Voldemort, Slytherin housed a lot of dark witches and wizards and Harry's bitter rival, Draco Malfoy ( Tom Felton ). Often associated with blood purity and prejudice because of a few bad eggs (including their founder), Slytherin is commonly identified as the evil house. But that isn't the case . Slytherin's values are ambition, cunning, resourcefulness, and pride. While perhaps not as inherently altruistic as Gryffindor's traits, none are innately evil.

From Bellatrix ( Helena Bonham Carter ) to the Malfoys, Slytherin created plenty of Death Eaters, but there were good Slytherins, too. Horace Slughorn ( Jim Broadbent ) defended Hogwarts during the battle, but mostly, he wanted to watch his students succeed. Though controversial , Snape also fought against Voldemort, and Regulus Black , though dead during the story, tried to kill Voldemort long before Harry and his friends ever did. Voldemort's legacy and the giant basilisk Salazar Slytherin stored in the school are hard to overcome, but their reputation is at least exaggerated .

This Harry Potter Scene Created for the Movie Makes Absolutely No Sense

Ravenclaw: the intelligent.

A few significant characters wear Raveclaw's blue, including Luna Lovegood ( Evanna Lynch ) and Cho Chang ( Katie Leung ). Additionally, Ravenclaw's designated Ghost, The Grey Lady ( Kelly Macdonald ), plays a role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 , as she leads Harry to one of the final Horcruxes . Ravenclaw carries the distinction of being the only house whose mascot was changed for the films. While it is an eagle in the books, the movies show a raven instead. The house's founder, Rowena Ravenclaw, valued intelligence, wit, creativity, and originality , and they continue to uphold those traits. This makes it the perfect place for Luna and other totally unique people. Unfortunately, so few Ravenclaws are seen that there is little debate over good and evil. Besides Luna and Cho, Ravenclaw can boast of Filius Flitwick, Professor Quirrell ( Ian Hart ) (pre-Voldemort), and many unnamed individuals seen around the school. But Luna herself is one flattering representative of the Ravenclaw house.

Hufflepuff: The Loyal

The often-forgotten Hufflepuff is the final house as the badger emblem and yellow colors are seen on too few characters in the films. They have Cedric Diggory ( Robert Pattinson ), Nymphadora Tonks ( Natalia Tena ), and, of course, their head of house, Professor Sprout. But none of these characters played major roles in the films. The Fantastic Beasts series introduced Newt Scamander ( Eddie Redmayne ), who proudly wears the Hufflepuff colors. Hufflepuffs also suffer for the compassion of their founder, Helga Hufflepuff, who included a variety of traits to ensure everyone had a home at Hogwarts. Loyalty, hard work, fairness, kindness, patience, and honesty make up the Hufflepuff values . But they have one important thing going for them — there are no known dark wizards from Hufflepuff , indicating that they may have something figured out that the others don't. While the students put a lot of their identity into their respective houses, the truth is that very little divides them, and Hogwarts needs each house to function properly.
