ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਆਏ ਸਾਲ ਕਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਮੱਸਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਜੀ 14 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਯੁਧਿਆ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਆਏ ਸਨ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਗਵਾਲੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਕਿਲੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਸਨ।

ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਈ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੌਣਕ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬੱਚੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰੋਂ ਮਠਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਟਾਕੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਦਵਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਦੀਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੀਪਮਾਲਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦੇਖਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਛਾਵਾ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਟੁੰਬਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕ ਨਵੇਂ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਬਰਤਨ ਖਰੀਦਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਟਾਕੇ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਟਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਠੂਹ-ਠਾਹ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਸਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਡਦੀਆਂ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਬੜੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗਦੀਆਂ ਫੁਲਝੜੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਟਾਕੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਉਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਗ ਵੀ ਲਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਹੈ। ਬਰਸਾਤ ਦਾ ਮੌਸਮ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਆਗਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰਸਤੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਦੀ ਨਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਲਕੀ ਹਲਕੀ ਸਰਦੀ ਪੈਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਹਲਕੇ-ਹਲਕੇ ਊਨੀ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਹਿਨਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਲਾਭੇ ਭਰੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਇਕ ਭਾਰੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਮਿੱਠੀ-ਮਿੱਠੀ ਠੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਨਿਹਰੀ ਧੁੱਪ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਉਣੀ ਦੀ ਫਸਲ ਵੀ ਘਰ ਆਉਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਕਈ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਧਨ ਰਸ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਮਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕ ਨਵੇਂ-ਨਵੇਂ ਬਰਤਨ ਖਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਲਵਾਈ ਲੋਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ-ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਿਠਾਈਆਂ ਸਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਕੜ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਘੁੰਮ ਫਿਰ ਕੇ ਕਦੀ ਮਿਠਾਈਆਂ ਖਰੀਦਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੀ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਗਨੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਖਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਬਸ ਪਟਾਕਿਆ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ-ਪੂਜਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਾਅਦ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਤੇ, ਚੁਰਾਹਿਆਂ ਤੇ, ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਬਸ ਪਟਾਖਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਅਨਾਰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ , ਕੋਈ ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਚੱਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਫੁੱਲਝੜੀ। ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੋਕ ਮਿਠਾਈਆਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਆ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਅਤੇ । ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਪਵਿਤੱਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਘੱਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵੀ ਦੀਵਾਲਾ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇਸ਼ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਮਨਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਵੇ। ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ 14 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

 ਦੋਸਤੋ, ਇਹ 5000 ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ 14 ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਲਕਸ਼ਮਣ ਵੀ 14 ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਕੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਰਾਵਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰਾਵਣ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ 14 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਾਪਰੀਆਂ, ਇਸ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ 14 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।

 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ, ( ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਦੇ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ) ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਦੀਪਕ ਨਾਲ਼ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਖਾਸ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਪਟਾਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਲੋਕ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਇਜ਼ਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਸਫਾਈ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਥਾ

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਕਰਨੀ ਆਰੰਭ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਫਾਈ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਥਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਫਾਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੰਗ-ਰੋਗਨ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਖੱਡਾਂ-ਖੂੰਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਫਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਨਵੇਂ ਬਰਤਨ ਤੇ ਕਪੜੇ ਦੀ ਖਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ

ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕ ਬੜੇ ਹੀ ਚਾਅ ਤੇ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਖਰੀਦਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਨਵੀਂ ਵਿਆਹੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਸਜਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਠਿਆਈਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਟਾਕੇ ਖਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਪਣੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੋਹਫੇ ਤੇ ਮਠਿਆਈਆਂ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਨੇ ਰਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੀ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੀਵੇ , ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੇ ਬਲਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਇੰਜ ਫੈਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਮੰਨੋ ਦਿਨ ਚੜ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ। ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਟਾਕਿਆ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਚਾਰੋਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਰੌਣਕ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇੰਝ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਆਪ ਪਟਾਕਿਆ ਤੇ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜੀ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਹੱਸ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਮੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਦਵਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਦੀਵੇ ਤੇ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ

ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਉ ਤਾਂ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਧਨ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਭਾਵੇਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਬੜੀ ਧੂਮ ਧਾਮ ਤੇ ਜੋਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੈ।

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ‘ ਦਾਲ ਰੋਟੀ ਘਰ ਦੀ, ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ । ਇਥੇ ਦੀ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਤੇ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਖਾਸ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਪੁੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਰੋਸ਼ਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਤੇ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜੀ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਭਿਅਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਰਤਵਾਸੀ ਚਾਹੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਹੋਣ ਜਾਂ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਜਾਂ ਈਸਾਈ ਸਭ ਇਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਸਦਾ ਸਭ ਲਈ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ।

ਉੱਤਰ – ਇਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ 52 ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਗਵਾਲਿਅਰ ਦੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਏ ਸਨ।

ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੇਖ ਇਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਲੇਖ (diwali essay in punjabi) ਹੈ। ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਅੱਜ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ।

ਜਾਣ ਪਛਾਣ  -  ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ‘ਦੀਪਾਵਲੀ' ਤੋਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ‘ਦੀਪਾਵਲੀ’ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ, ਦੀਵਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਤਾਰ। ਕੱਤਕ ਦੀ ਮੱਸਿਆ ਦੀ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ।  ਦਸਹਿਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਨੀ ਦਿਨ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਮਨਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤਦ ਤੱਕ ਸਰਦੀ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਉਣੀ ਦੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਵੀ ਘਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।  

ਇਤਿਹਾਸ  - ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਜੀ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਬਣਬਾਸ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਪਰਤੇ ਸਨ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀਪ-ਮਾਲਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ ਵੀ ਗਵਾਲੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਇਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਪੁੱਜੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੀਪ-ਮਾਲਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾਈ ਸੀ।  

ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ  - ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਈ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ੈਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗ-ਰੋਗਨ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਠਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲਿੰਬ-ਪੋਚ ਕੇ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਜਲੇ-ਉੱਜਲੇ ਜਾਪਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।  ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਵਰਗ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਹੀ-ਖਾਤੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਵੀ ਹਨ। ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਭਾਂਤ-ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਨੁਮਾਇਸ਼ ਜਿਹੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗਾਹਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਬਦੋ- ਬਦੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲ ਖਿੱਚਦੀ ਹੈ।  

ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੀ ਰੌਣਕਾਂ  -  ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਲਵਾਈ ਭਾਂਤ- ਭਾਂਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਿਠਿਆਈਆਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਕਈ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜਾਉਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਤਾਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।  ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਚਾਅ ਸਵੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ, ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਆਦਿ ਖ਼ਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ । ਕਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਨੇਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਠਿਆਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਡੱਬੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਭ-ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਥਾਂਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਟਾਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ  - ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਟਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਠਾਹ-ਠਾਹ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੂਹਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਬਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਰੰਗ-ਬਰੰਗੇ ਬਲਬਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੜੀਆਂ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਲੱਛਮੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਵੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਸਾਫ ਸਫਾਈ  - ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਦੀ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਅਰੰਭ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੌਣ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੌਂਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ੈਦੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਨੀਕਾਰਕ ਕੀਟਾਣੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਾਤਮਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ 'ਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਟਾਣੂ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਪਟਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਪ ਵਰਗੇ ਜੀਵ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਵੱਸੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੱਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ।

ਕੁਝ ਬੁਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ  -ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਠੀਕ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੂਏ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਭੈੜੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਲੜਾਈ-ਝਗੜੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਈ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਵਾਰੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ-ਮੂੰਹ ਵੀ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਆਦਿ 'ਤੇ ਫ਼ਜ਼ੂਲ ਪੈਸਾ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਵਾਧੂ ਦਿਖਾਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੌਮੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਭੂਮਿਕਾ- ਭਾਰਤ ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਰੁੱਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਜਾਂ ਮੌਸਮੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ। (ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।

ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ- ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ਦੀਪ+ਆਵਲੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦੀਵਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ (ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼) ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਆਦਿ ਕਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ (ਗਿਆਨ) ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਚੱਲ। ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਵੇ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ- ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮਚੰਦਰ ਜੀ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਲਛਮਣ ਸਮੇਤ ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਯੋਧਿਆ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੀਪ ਮਾਲਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ |

ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ 52 ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਗਵਾਲੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਕਿਲੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਸਨ। ਆਰੀਆ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ੫ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਦਯਾਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਵਾਣ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।

ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਕੱਤਕ ਦੀ ਮੱਸਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰਦੀ ਦੀ ਰੁੱਤ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਆਗਮਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕ ਮਕਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੰਗ-ਰੋਗਨ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੌਣਕ– ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਾਸ ਰੌਣਕ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਲਵਾਈ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕ ਪਟਾਖੇ, ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ, ਮਠਿਆਈਆਂ, ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ, ਦੀਵੇ ਆਦਿ ਖ਼ਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਭੀੜ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। |

ਦੀਪਮਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਆਤਿਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਜਗਮਗਜਗਮਗ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀਪਮਾਲਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੋਈ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ-ਬਿਰੰਗੇ ਲਾਟੂ ਜਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਾਰ-ਚੁਫੇਰੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਤੇ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਭ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਪਟਾਖਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਸਮਾਨ ਵੱਲ ਚੜ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਆਤਿਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਾਤਾਵ ਦਿਲ-ਖਿਚਵਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਲੱਛਮੀ ਪੂਜਾ- ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਛਮੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਛਮੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਤੇ ਨਕਦੀ (ਪੈਸੇ) ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਵੀ ਖੁੱਲੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੱਛਮੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਆਵੇ।

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਕੋਨੇ-ਕੋਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਢੰਗ ਦੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਦੂਰੋਂ-ਦੂਰੋਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਪੁੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ। ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜਗਮਗ-ਜਗਮਗ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਤਸ਼ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਵੇਖਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ-

ਦਾਲ ਰੋਟੀ ਘਰ ਦੀ , ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ

ਸਰਦੀ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ- ਇਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਰਦੀ ਦਾ ਆਗਮਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ – ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਰਾਬਾਂ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜੂਆ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੂਏ ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੌਕੀਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਵਾਲਾ ਹੀ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਚਰਣ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੇੜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸੋਮਝ ਕੇ ਮਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਾਰ-ਅੰਸ਼- ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ-ਮਿੱਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਈਰਖ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰ-ਵਿਰੋਧ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਆਪਸੀ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ - ਮਲਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੋਣ । ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਵੀ ਇਕ ਸ਼ ਮਣੀ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀਪਾਵਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ । ਦੀਪਾਵਲੀ” ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਦੀਵਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲ । ਕੱਤਕ ਦੀ ਮਸਿਆ ਦੀ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੁਸਹਿਰੇ ਤੋਂ 20 ਦਿਨ fuਛੋਂ ਮਨਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਕਾਰਣ ਜੁੜ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਜੀ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਪਛ ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੀਤਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਅਯੁਧਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਜੇ ਸਨ । ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀ ਆਇਆਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀ ਯ - fਧਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ । ਉਸ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕਾਫੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਚਾਲੀ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੈਦ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਗਵਾਲੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਕਿਲੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਜਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪੁਜੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੀ ਆਇਆਂ ਆਖਣ ਲਈ ਦੀਪਮਾਲਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਹਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਖੂਬ ਚਹਿਲ-ਪਹਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੋਕੀ ਸ਼ਰਦੀ : ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕਮਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੌਣ ਲਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕੀ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਫਾਈਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸਭ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਨਵੇਂ-ਨਵੇਂ ਕਪੜੇ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ । ਲੋਕੀ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੱਤਾਂ ਉਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾਉਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਠੀਕ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ । ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਖੁਬ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੂਆ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਲੜਾਈ ਝਗੜੇ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਗਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
