With India’s independence, Indians elected their first prime minister in the form of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who first unfurled the tricolor flag at the Red Fort in the national capital, New Delhi. Today every Indian celebrates this special day like a festival.

As we know that we got independence after a lot of struggle of our great leaders. As the result we finally got freedom on 15 Aug 1947 from the rule of britishers. This day the Indians take a breathe in fresh air of freedom.

This freedom which we are enjoying now,got with a lot of strugle and difficulities. This is the hardwork of our great fighters who fight and won freedom for us . They were :- Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jwaharlal Nehru, S.Bhagat Singh, Lal-Bal- Pal, Dadabhai Naroji and some others. Some of them were Moderates and some were Extrimists. Every and each member play a very major role to succeed in this battle. They protest against the britishers and spread their very powerful thaughts and slogans all over the country.

Now, we celebrate Independence day every year on 15 August . Their is a National Celebration all over India on this day. Many functions are organised in all parts of India. At Delhi, our capital, the P.M. reach at Red fort (Lal Quila) and flutter our national flag “tricolour” and address an inspirational speech to the youth of country for the progress of nation. Our National Anthem “Jana-Gana-Mana”is also sung on this great occassion. March past by Indian army is also organised . A beautiful jet performance is organised, which represent the “ tricolor “.

We all know that we got this freedom with a lot of struggle. So, our duty toward our nation is that we have to follow our constitution with our pleasure and heart . We have to keep peace in Country and give this lesson to other citizens also. We have the sense of brotherhood toward every person of any religion. And one major thing is that we don’t forgot our freedom fighters and always follow their lessons and paths.

CONCLUSION: These celebrations are must so that today’s generation,who has not seen the struggle of our martyrs can also know and understand about the duties,responsibilities and love towards the nation.But unfortunately,we are ignoring the efforts done by our martyrs and performing our duties only on 15 August,which is not done.Many people think that martyrs saved us by taking just one bullet on chest and imprisonment.But if they had not saved us then by sacrificing their lives,maybe we would have been slaves of British rule even today.

It is not necessary to remember freedom fighters only on the day when we got freedom.We should remember them anytime with all our hearts and thank them.

History of Indian Independence Day

After the British occupied India, we were slaves in our own country. Earlier everything was ours such as money, grain, land but after the arrival of the British, we did not have any right on anything. They used to charge arbitrary rent and whatever their mind got them cultivated, such as cultivation of indigo and cash crops etc. This was especially seen in Champaran, Bihar. Whenever we protested against him, we would get a bigger answer than that, like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

There is no dearth of stories of Prataran and there is no dearth of courageous movements of our freedom fighters, it is the result of their tireless efforts that this is history for us today. The British looted us badly, an example of which is the Kohinoor, which today adorns the crown of their queen. But our cultural and historical heritage is still the most elite and perhaps this is the reason why even today in our country guests are worshiped like gods and whenever the British come to India we will continue to welcome them but remembering the history.

Contribution of Freedom Fighters

Our freedom fighters like Gandhiji, who have made an incomparable contribution in the struggle for freedom and were also the most popular. He taught everyone the lesson of truth, non-violence and it was non-violence, which emerged as the biggest weapon and lit the lamp of hope in the life of even the weakest of the weak. Gandhiji made strenuous efforts to remove many evil practices from the country and brought all sections together, due to which this fight became easier. It was the love of the people for him that people used to call him Bapu.

Everyone was protesting peacefully against the Simon Commission, but in the meantime the British started lathi charge and Lala Lajpat Rai died in it. Being hurt by this, Bhagat Singh, Sukh Dev, Rajguru killed Saunders and in return they were sentenced to death and they laughed and climbed the throne.

There are hundreds of such names in this freedom struggle like Subhash Jandar Bose, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Mangal Pandey, Rani Laxmibai, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad etc. whose contribution is incomparable.

There are different ways of celebrating this festival in independent India. A week in advance, the markets are lit up, sometimes three colors of rangoli are sold, and somewhere three colors of lights. It is as if the whole world is absorbed in these colors. Somewhere there is an atmosphere of happiness, and somewhere there is the sound of patriotic songs. The whole country celebrates this festival by dancing and singing. People dance themselves and force others to dance as well. The whole country gets united in such a way that whether Hindu or Muslim, there is no difference.

As Independence Day is our national festival, a national holiday has been declared for this day and schools, colleges, government offices are all closed. But it is the enthusiasm of the people who all come together to celebrate this day and every year with great gaiety, Independence Day celebrations are organized, tricolor is hoisted and sweets are distributed.

The 15th. August is a golden day in the history of India because on this day India broke away from the ruling power and became independent, hence this day is celebrated as Independence Day.

India gained its independence in the 15th century. August 1947, when the Constitution of India was adopted, which consists of various rules and regulations governing the country.

Everyone celebrates Independence Day on the 15th. August, the flag is raised everywhere on this day. You see people love patriotic songs and perform them at celebrations. They enjoy Independence Day and pay their respects to the soldiers and people who died fighting for freedom.

People put badges on their chests and some paint flags on the railroad tracks to show their patriotism by definition.

The 15th. August is the day when everyone becomes patriotic and celebrates Independence Day by planting the flag in the community of the organization and singing the national song Jana Gana Mana and saluting the flag throughout the song and sharing sweets with each other after reaching the flag.

PRESENTATION

The 15th. In August, everyone celebrates Independence Day by getting up early in the morning and wearing white clothes that symbolize the state, and everyone gathers in a church, organization or on the street to raise the flag. All raise the flag and during the raising of the flag salute the flag and sing the national song Jana Gana Mana, then the day is celebrated with sweets like jalebi and fafda for the small children and also various competitions for the children during the 15th day. The month of August was marked by activities such as painting and coloring, singing and dancing, with the young children performing various patriotic songs.

Also at 15. In August, schools and colleges are on vacation and students are invited to come to school to celebrate Independence Day. There is also a flag hoisting ceremony, where the chief guest, represented by the principal or founder of the school, hoists the flag, followed by various programmes to entertain the students, such as dance performances, songs where the students perform various dance numbers and the patriotic song Singh.

North America will not experience another total solar eclipse for decades.

"Eclipse Across America" will air live Monday, April 8, beginning at 2 p.m. ET on ABC, ABC News Live, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Disney+ and Hulu as well as network social media platforms.

If experiencing totality during the April 8 total solar eclipse makes you hungry for another celestial spectacle, you may have to wait decades.

"Solar eclipses are sort of like potato chips -- once you eat one, you want another one," Fred Espenak, a former astrophysicist from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and author of "Road Atlas for the Total Solar Eclipse of 2024," told ABC News.

"Every eclipse is unique and exciting," Espenak continued. "I would say it's the most spectacular, natural phenomenon that you can see with the naked eye."

On Monday, the total solar eclipse plunged a path through the contiguous United States into an eerie twilight showcasing the sun's corona and the atmosphere's array of stars as the moon passed in front of the sun.

For the 31 million Americans who live inside the eclipse's path of totality, the experience was brought right to their doorstep, while millions of other eclipse chasers traveled to the 115-mile-wide path for the historic day.

"Many people will definitely get the bug and join the cohort of eclipse chasers, who go to any reasonable means of traveling around the world to see nature's most dramatic sight," Michael Zeiler, expert solar eclipse cartographer and founder of Greatamericaneclipse.com, told ABC News.

Next total solar eclipse in the U.S. after 2024

The next total solar eclipse to occur in the contiguous U.S. won't be until Aug. 23, 2044, and will only shadow three states in its path, Montana and North and South Dakota, according to NASA.

In Canada, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan will also experience totality, according to the agency.

Next coast-to-coast total solar eclipse

The next year, on Aug. 12, 2045, a total solar eclipse will span coast to coast, according to NASA.

The far-reaching path of totality will cover parts of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Georgia, the agency reports.

Similar to the total solar eclipse in 2017, the 2045 eclipse offers a chance for many Americans to experience totality within their states.

On Aug. 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse is set to sweep over the Arctic Ocean, Greenland, Iceland, Atlantic Ocean, Portugal and northern Spain, according to the National Solar Observatory .

"Witnessing a total solar eclipse is a deeply emotional experience for anyone," Zeiler said. "And the first question you may ask after the eclipse is: When is the next one? And you may want to go see the very next eclipse in Spain in 2026."
