Hear from our customers

"TopResume gave me great feedback on my resume in under 24 hours. Not only was their advice clear, it was also concrete in how I could improve my resume instantly. I honestly felt silly that I hadn't used it before."

— Roshdy Soliman

"I uploaded my resume by mistake and when I received personal feedback from a human (Katie) I was shocked and surprised. The feedback and advice that she gave me were immediately recognized as the reason that I had not been getting callbacks. I had been sending the same resume out for 6 months with nothing to show for it. My personal esteem and confidence were being knocked down pretty hard so it was a gift to finally get some evidence that I could use to better my resume, level up the content and feel more confident in sending out my resume and cover letter."

— Jennifer Tausch

"I received a detailed breakdown of all the weak points of my resume and solid advice on how to correct them. After I was done I got immediately hired by two major companies in my field."

— Vadim Pushkarev

"Within 24 hours I received an extremely non-biased accurate and very informative review of my resume. This has been extremely helpful and I've already had multiple hits from job sites since updating my resume. Thank you Jenna for all your help! I recommend this to everyone even if you are simply updating your resume."

— Eric Patterson

"It was pleasure to get a free resume review from a professional. It was helpful and opened my eyes on the critical points that were blowing up my resume. I started to rewrite my resume following their instructions and yes, I can see the difference already. Thanks a lot TopResume, specially Ms Emily Gardner the resume expert."

— Moustafa Elaraby

"I didn't expect much from submitting my resume, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Within a few days I received an extensive, constructive criticism of my resume with specific examples and feedback that could only come from an actual human being. I definitely feel like I received a free service here, I plan to use the critiques they provided to optimize my resume and hopefully find a job. For the service they provided for absolutely free, a five star rating really isn't high enough. 11/10 have already recommended and will again."

— Aaron McCoy

I had no idea where my resume needed help and wasn't sure why I couldn't get any traction with companies I applied to. I got exactly the answers I needed in a clear and straight-forward review. Additionally I discovered that although I have had more than 10 years of management experience, the resume sorting software showed I had zero experience because of the way I formatted my resume and the lack of necessary key words. I got WAY more than I expected. TopResume is awesome!!

— Susan Citrak

At TopResume we’ve helped over one million job-seekers change careers — and we want to help you, too. Getting a second opinion on your resume might make the difference between getting the job and getting rejected.

5 linkedin profile hacks that help recruiters find you.

Former US President Barack Obama, gestures during a LinkedIn Town Hall Meeting

In an over-saturated market like this one, by far the easiest way to find a job is for a recruiter to find you. Now that LinkedIn membership has grown to more than 1 billion people globally, your discoverability on the platform is more crucial than ever before.

Regular users of the platform can see first, second- and third-degree connections. Recruiters using the LinkedIn Recruiter tool are able to surface every user worldwide, which is obviously an overwhelmingly large talent pool. LinkedIn in has a series of powerful algorithms that help recruiters surgically refine their outreach: understanding how these work enables you to optimize your profile for maximum discoverability:

1. Utilize The Skills Functionality

LinkedIn recently increased the number of skills you can include on your profile from 50 to 100. You can append skills to three areas on your profile: against each role you’ve held, against any volunteer positions and against your education. Utilizing the skills functionality is increasingly critical, as platform-wide 40% of recruiter searches now begin with skills (as opposed to beginning with job title and company). Wherever possible avoid generic skills like “project management” and opt for greater specificity such as “agile,” “waterfall” or “scrum.”

2. Interact With Places Where You Want To Work

Whether a recruiter search begins with job title or with skills, the first returned universe of candidates tends to be fairly broad. One of the ways LinkedIn Recruiter offers to slice the data is offering up a subset of candidates that are “engaged with your talent brand.” Users that have applied for jobs, followed the company page on LinkedIn or engaged with posts made from the company page show up in this pool. You’re more likely to hear from a recruiter at Apple Apple if you’re engaged with Apple’s talent brand, so be sure to follow all the pages of the companies you’d like to work at.

3. Utilize The Open To Work Feature

Recognizing that not everyone wants to advertise that they’re ready for their next role, LinkedIn offers up two related pieces of functionality. The green, visible to all users, “Open To Work” banner stirred up outsized controversy , even though LinkedIn’s own data shows it’s delivering exactly the outcomes it was designed for. Whatever you decide about the public banner, you should absolutely use the private notification that lets recruiters know that you’re interested in new opportunities: users that do so receive 40% more outreach from recruiters than those that don’t.

Your Best Look Yet At The New iPhone 16

Trump media stock djt at risk of a new short selling plunge, ryan garcia what s ostarine and how could a boxer use it to cheat, 4. upload your resume to linkedin.

Uploading your resume serves two important functions: it enables you to apply for roles directly from the app, and as long as you’ve selected the toggle to “share resume data with recruiters” it significantly enhances your discoverability. You can rest assured that your resume is only visible to recruiters using the LinkedIn Recruiter product and is not visible to ordinary users.

5. Regularly Check All Your Message Inboxes

In both the app and desktop versions of LinkedIn, messages are now sorted in to “focused” and “other” subfolders, and you should get into the habit of regularly checking both. Across the whole of LinkedIn, the average response rate for recruiter outreach is just 30%. For every ten candidates recruiters send messages to, only three respond, and that includes folks responding to say they’re not interested.

Whether or not you’re in the market for a job right now, you almost certainly know someone who is. Get into the habit of responding to recruiters that reach out to you so that you can both connect folks in your network with opportunity, and crucially establish relationships with recruiters that may well serve you in the future.

The post-pandemic talent market is incredibly difficult to navigate, allowing your LinkedIn profile to do some heavy lifting for you helps to differentiate you from the competition.

JAY — Regional School Unit 73 directors need a long-term substitute teacher for special education students at Spruce Mountain High School to replace one who is leaving May 10.

“We are continuing to look for special education staff at the high school,” Jenna Cote, Section 504 coordinator/assistant special services director, told directors Thursday. “I was a special education teacher at the high school before I took over the Section 504 coordinator and assistant special education director in January.”

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, is legislation that guarantees certain rights to people with disabilities. Typically, a 504 coordinator will ensure the school district’s nondiscrimination statements, access information, grievance procedures and other disability-related policies are up-to-date, posted and distributed as required.

Director Roger Moulton of Livermore Falls asked what are the prerequisites for a long-term substitute.

Cote said the person needs to be qualified by the state and have a background check.

Superintendent Scott Albert said the person does not need to be one of the district’s substitutes. Advertisement

“I find a lot of people are scared to sub at the high school,” Cote said. “They are scared of the content, feel it is over their heads.”

It is not the substitute’s responsibility to know all subject content; they can send students to get help from the teacher, she added.

In other business, student representative Avery Ryder said a Red Cross blood drive is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 23 at the high school. It is sponsored by Jobs for Maine Graduates and appointments are needed. Those wishing to donate should contact adviser Zach Keene at 207-897-4336 or [email protected].

“Any student 16 or older or member of the community can donate blood,” Ryder added.

Resignations were accepted for high school English teacher Jayne Costa at the end of the school year and primary school physical education and health teacher Jane DiPompo, effective Dec. 31.

“I am very sad to see Mrs. DiPompo leaving,” Director Andrew Sylvester of Livermore said. “I have known her for the better part of the last 15 years. She helped us coach the junior ski team, the high school ski team. She was always there, very enthusiastic. As a parent, a coach, you couldn’t ask for a better supporter and we will miss her.”

Moulton said she was his gym teacher. He thanked her and wished her well.

Following an executive session, directors unanimously voted to allow a student to reenter. The student was expelled Dec. 4 for the peace and usefulness of the schools, according to information provided Dec. 5, by Albert.

Pitfire Pizza partners with Sonoratown for Cinco de Mayo

Tacos might seem like the obvious choice for your Cinco de Mayo celebration, but Pitfire Pizza and Sonoratown are teaming up to create a fun alternative to the taco bar this year. The Southern California pizza concept and the Los Angeles-based fast-casual spot known for Northern Mexican–style tacos have teamed together to create a chivichanga pizza. The festive offering will be available on Sunday, May 5, for dine-in, takeout and delivery at all Pitfire Pizza locations, including in Costa Mesa and Orange.

The pizza is inspired by Sonoratown’s popular chivichanga, a guisado of slow-cooked shredded chicken, cheddar and jack cheese, blistered tomatoes and roasted Anaheim chiles inside a Tortilla Tournament-winning flour tortilla. Chivichangas are similar to burritos but specific to the Sonora region and an example of the many variations of the rolled taco found throughout Mexico and, in recent years, Southern California. In Orange County, you can find Zacatecas-style burritos at Burritos La Palma in Santa Ana and the Mexican state of Chihuahua’s version at Los de Juarez Burritos in Anaheim.

This Cinco de Mayo collaboration, however, isn’t a burrito at all but a dish that reinvents the Mexican pizza. Pitfire Pizza’s signature sourdough crust will be topped with Sonoratown’s shredded chicken, Monterey jack and mild cheddar cheese and finished with radish, onion and lime. Sonoratown’s spicy Chiltepin salsa and avocado crema will be served on the side for extra heat.

Teodoro Diaz-Rodriguez Jr. and Jennifer Feltham founded Sonoratown in 2016 to serve tacos in the style of San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, while Pitfire Pizza, part of the American Gonzo Food Corp., opened in 1997 in the North Hollywood Arts District and has since grown with locations in L.A., Orange County and San Diego. Pitfire’s city of Orange location opened last summer and is the newest addition to the group’s growing number of restaurants.

This is the third year Pitfire Pizza and Sonoratown have partnered for Cinco de Mayo to serve chivichanga pizza, and as with previous years, part of the proceeds will benefit No Us Without You, a charity dedicated to providing food relief for the undocumented community in the restaurant industry. The organization was created in response to the COVID-19 shutdown in Los Angeles in 2020 and today serves over 700 families quarterly.

“When we first partnered with Sonoratown for Cinco de Mayo two years ago, Jen and Teo chose No Us Without You, as it’s a community that’s close to their hearts,” American Gonzo Food Corp. chief executive officer Jeff Goodman said. “The organization’s efforts supporting restaurant workers aligns with all our values, and since then they’ve been the obvious choice for this annual event.”

Five dollars from each chivichanga pizza sold will be donated to No Us Without You.

Gumbo Limbo in Boca Raton gets its permit back to treat and release sea turtles

BOCA RATON — Almost one year into managing the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton , the nonprofit Coastal Stewards has received a marine turtle permit from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to resume its rehabilitation and release activities.

Previously, the nonprofit, which focuses on conservation efforts and the study of marine life and coastal ecosystems, was known as the Gumbo Limbo Coastal Stewards. In April 2023 , the Boca Raton City Council agreed to pass operation and management of the nature center’s  Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Program  to the group. Before then, the city had been in charge.

"This is wonderful news for the City of Boca Raton, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, The Coastal Stewards and our entire community," said John Holloway, the president and CEO of The Coastal Stewards. "We are thrilled that with the FWC permit in hand, our team can resume sea turtle rehabilitation and release activities at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center."

The new permit comes after internal turmoil a year ago when the primary veterinarian resigned and injured turtles were subsequently moved from the center to other facilities. Last spring, seven turtle patients were temporarily sent to the Loggerhead Marine Life Center in Juno Beach, Zoo Miami and the Florida Oceanographic Society.

RELATED: Sargassum expected to reach South Florida beaches by late May in potentially 'major' event

The FWC permit was taken away because it was carried by an individual, rather than by the organization. The Coastal Stewards had to go through an extensive process to receive a new permit to continue turtle rehab. Now, with that permit re-issued, the center is once again in line for new patients.

What does having a Marine Turtle Permit mean to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center?

The marine turtle permit indicates that turtles needing rehabilitation will soon be back at the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. To qualify for the permit, applicants have the appropriate knowledge and show that their proposed activity adds to the conservation of marine turtles, according to the FWC .

In January, the city and the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center announced the return of one of the center's resident sea turtles. Morgan, a green sea turtle, was first brought to the center in 2014 after being rescued and had been temporarily relocated due to the transition of the rehabilitation program to The Coastal Stewards.

"Our team has high-level qualifications and extensive expertise," Holloway said. "It is our mission to rehabilitate and release sea turtles in need as we inspire others to care and support the stewardship and research of the coastal and marine life ecosystems that surround us."

About The Coastal Stewards: How does the nonprofit help sea turtles?

The nonprofit was established in 1981 as The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center of South Palm Beach. The group is dedicated to the protection and study of marine life, with a mission to inspire people to support the stewardship and research of coastal and marine ecosystems.

Since taking over management of the nature center's Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Program, the nonprofit has expanded its focus on the rescue, rehabilitation, research and release of sea turtles to aid dolphins, manatees and whales as well.

Also since then, the group has worked with the FWC and nature center to fulfill necessary requirements to receive its new permit and resume its sea turtle rehabilitation and release. These included facility upgrades at the center and hiring additional qualified employees, of which the group now has 16.

Gumbo Limbo Nature Center: A grand opening in May

To celebrate the newly received Marine Turtle Permit, The Coastal Stewards will host a Grand Opening Splash and Open House for the Rehab Center from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at the center, which is at 1801 N. Ocean Blvd. There, attendees will have a chance to meet The Coastal Stewards’ leadership team, includingDr. Shelby Loos, the director of marine life conservation, and see the center's new sea turtle patients.

"Sea turtles have long been synonymous with Gumbo Limbo Nature Center," said Leanne Welch, the center's manager. "We are excited for our visitors to once again have the opportunity to witness firsthand the threats faced by turtles and share in their hopeful journey of rehabilitation and release."

The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is open Monday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lawyer for Stormy Daniels Says He Believed Trump Was Behind Hush-Money Talks

The lawyer, Keith Davidson, testified that the release of the “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Donald J. Trump described assaulting women, increased the urgency of talks to buy and bury Ms. Daniels’s story of a sexual encounter with him. The $130,000 payment is at the heart of the case.

Here are 5 takeaways from Trump’s trial.

The third week of the criminal trial of Donald J. Trump began with a rebuke: The judge, Juan M. Merchan, held the former president in contempt and fined him $9,000 for repeatedly violating a gag order. He also threatened jail time if the violations continue.

That decision on Tuesday, triggered by Mr. Trump’s comments on social media about witnesses and others, preceded riveting testimony from a lawyer who had arranged a $130,000 hush-money payment to conceal a tryst between Mr. Trump and a porn star, Stormy Daniels, a sum paid weeks before the 2016 election.

The lawyer, Keith Davidson, also described an earlier deal to buy the silence of another woman, Karen McDougal, who said she’d had a longer-term affair with Mr. Trump.

Mr. Trump, 77, is charged with falsifying 34 business records to hide the payment to Ms. Daniels. He has denied the felony charges, and having had sex with Ms. Daniels and Ms. McDougal. He could face probation or prison if convicted.

Here are takeaways from the ninth day of Mr. Trump’s trial, the first prosecution of an American president:

A lawyer recounts two stories and two deals to bury them.

Mr. Davidson, a Los Angeles lawyer, described in painstaking detail the pressured negotiations to pay off Ms. McDougal in summer 2016, which played out in text messages with Dylan Howard, an editor at The National Enquirer. The tabloid had agreed to buy negative stories about Mr. Trump and then bury them.

Ms. McDougal was eventually paid $150,000 and promised other perks, a deal hashed out in sometimes jocular terms.

“We are going to lay it on thick for her,” read one text from Mr. Howard.

Mr. Davidson replied: “Throw in an ambassadorship for me.”

Mr. Davidson testified that his response was a joke, but acknowledged that a deal for Ms. McDougal would help Mr. Trump’s candidacy.

In the afternoon, Mr. Davidson detailed how the arrangement with Ms. Daniels was made later that year as interest in her story increased after the release of the “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Mr. Trump bragged about groping women.

Mr. Davidson testified that he dealt with Michael D. Cohen, who was special counsel at the Trump Organization and who he believed was acting for the benefit of Mr. Trump.

The Links Between Trump and 3 Hush-Money Deals

Here’s how key figures involved in making hush-money payoffs on behalf of Donald J. Trump are connected.

Trump’s gag order violations haven’t cost him much. Yet.

In an eight-page decision , Justice Merchan announced Tuesday morning that Mr. Trump had repeatedly violated the March gag order that protects witnesses, court staff and others. He warned the former president that the court “will not tolerate continued violations,” raising the prospect of “an incarceratory punishment” if he continues. That means jail.

The judge also ordered Mr. Trump to remove the nine “offending posts” from his Truth Social account and his campaign website by Tuesday afternoon.

The fines, however, were a pittance for a billionaire: $9,000. Justice Merchan acknowledged that such penalties “unfortunately will not achieve the desired result” if a person “can easily afford such a fine.”

A banker described how Michael Cohen paid off Stormy Daniels.

Mr. Cohen, who also acted as Mr. Trump’s fixer, made the $130,000 payment to Ms. Daniels, drawing money from a credit line and channeling it through a shell company. Gary Farro, who was a banker with First Republic Bank, described that monetary flow, a dry but essential part of the prosecution’s case.

The payment’s timing — less than two weeks before the 2016 presidential election — speaks to another element of the prosecution’s argument: that Mr. Trump was seeking to illegally influence voters by silencing Ms. Daniels.

During cross-examination, a defense lawyer, Todd Blanche, tried to drive home the idea that the account had no connection to Mr. Trump. Mr. Farro also told Mr. Blanche that if Mr. Cohen “had told me this was a shell corporation, the account wouldn’t have been opened.”

A parade of record keepers took the stand.

Prosecutors also called several witnesses to testify about records, including a C-SPAN archivist and an official with a court reporting company. They were so-called custodial witnesses, who testify about the authenticity of basic evidence in the case, such as videos or deposition transcripts, which all came into play on Tuesday.

The jury saw several video clips from 2016 in which Mr. Trump denied accusations of sexual assault. They also saw a snippet of a deposition Mr. Trump gave in another lawsuit in which he confirmed that he married Melania Trump in 2005, soon before Ms. McDougal and Ms. Daniels say they had sexual encounters with him.

Trump can go to a graduation and is hitting the road.

Mr. Trump had complained about the possibility of missing his son Barron’s high school graduation on May 17, but Justice Merchan said Tuesday that the trial would pause for it.

This week’s trial schedule has already been truncated, with Monday and Wednesday off. Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, is planning rallies in Wisconsin and Michigan — both battleground states — on Wednesday.

Testimony will resume with Mr. Davidson on Thursday, with a tough cross-examination by the defense expected.

Right before court adjourned, Justice Merchan gave us a reminder of the biggest news of the day: Trump being held in contempt and fined $9,000. The judge noted that a hearing about what prosecutors say are four more violations of Trump's gag order — which could cost him $4,000 more — should only take 30 minutes when we resume on Thursday. After that hearing, Davidson is expected to pick up in his testimony where he left off: On the verge of completing the hush money deal that silenced the story of his client Stormy Daniels.

Michael Gold

Michael Gold

Outside the courtroom, Trump once again called the gag order unconstitutional and repeated his claims that Justice Merchan was biased against him. And Trump, who will be back on the campaign trail tomorrow, complained that the trial was keeping him from campaigning.

And even as Trump has complained that the gag order has kept him from commenting on the trial, a post on his social media account, published while he was in the courtroom, called the trial a “witch hunt” and complained that it was “hours of sitting down and listening to nothing except EXONERATION AND LIES.”

We came out of a somewhat dull line of questioning, in which the prosecution appeared to meander quite a bit, and the conversation of the hush-money payment was back on track. We just saw an email from Michael Cohen that was forwarded from First Republic Bank — where we already know he had arranged the funds for the payment to Stormy Daniels. Keith Davidson, at this point in the narrative, hadn’t quite believed that the money would come. But we know from Gary Farro, an earlier witness, that Cohen had obtained the money.

Keith Davidson is now reading his texts with Dylan Howard aloud. One of them joked about hiring a Trump impersonator who had more money than Trump. Pressed on what that meant, Davidson, appearing deeply uncomfortable and choosing his words carefully, says he took it to mean that Trump was not as wealthy as he claimed.

This testimony is taking place in a courthouse around the corner from the one where, in a civil fraud trial a few months ago, the New York attorney general successfully argued that Trump had spent years inflating his worth and overvaluing his properties.

Keith Davidson says that he understood that the deal with Stormy Daniels may have been held up because of “frugality.” “Whose frugality?” Joshua Steinglass, one of the prosecutors, asked, prompting another objection and yet another sidebar.

Joshua Steinglass, the prosecutor, is seeking to introduce…something. But Emil Bove, a defense lawyer, keeps objecting and succeeding in his objections, with a chorus of “sustained” from the judge keeping the court on its tiptoes in this moment of very high tension.

While much of the language the defense objected to is gone from the record, the jury heard it nonetheless. Steinglass is trying to establish that Trump was the beneficiary of the contract and would likely be paying.

We are back from the break. Keith Davidson is now having a discussion with Joshua Steinglass, the prosecutor, about his understanding “that Mr. Trump was frugal.” And that he “didn’t want to spend the money” to silence Stormy Daniels, who was shopping her story of an affair with Trump.

Steinglass asks Davidson whether Cohen was clear at the outset of their negotiations who he was working for. Davidson responds that while he doesn't remember if Cohen ever stated it explicitly then, "it was part of his identity, and he let you know it, every opportunity he could, that he was working for Donald Trump.”

Matthew Haag

Matthew Haag

To catch you up, prosecutors have continued to question Keith Davidson, a lawyer who represented two women who claimed to have had affairs with Donald Trump: Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.

His testimony has pulled back the curtain on the negotiations for the hush-money payments made to both women in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election. Davidson said that the release of the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape in October 2016 ratcheted up the interest in striking a deal to silence Daniels’s story. While Davidson said he worked directly with Michael Cohen, Trump’s fixer, in the Daniels deal, Davidson said he understood that Trump was the driving force behind the deal.

As we prepare to take a short afternoon break, Keith Davidson provides one last telling quote about Michael Cohen’s finagling of the Stormy Daniels story: “I thought he was trying to kick the can down the road until after the election,” Davidson says. This drives home, again, prosecutors’ stated motivation for the hush-money payment: to silence Stormy and smooth Trump’s road to the White House.

Trump is slumped back in his chair after Davidson is led off the stand.

Joshua Steinglass gets Keith Davidson to recount how Michael Cohen told him “my guy” was in several different states, on the campaign trail, and that Cohen could not make decisions in his absence. Davidson says it meant to him that “Michael Cohen didn’t have the authority to actually spend money.”

Steinglass has made a habit of getting witnesses to explain who these coded references are describing. In this case, “my guy,” in another, “the boss.” It’s always Trump. But Steinglass emphasizing that point reinforces the notion that Trump is the hidden hand operating Cohen on the chessboard. It’s a refrain that may stick with the jury.

Keith Davidson is now reading an expletive-laden email from Cohen, and seems pained to be cursing this much.

Jonathan Swan

Jonathan Swan

The prosecution brings up an email in which Keith Davidson told Michael Cohen that unless he paid the $130,000 by the end of the day — he was already past deadline — Stormy Daniels would consider the hush-money deal canceled. Joshua Steinglass, the prosecutor, makes a point of getting Davidson to confirm that he sent the email to Michael Cohen’s Trump Organization email address — another way of reinforcing for the jury that Cohen was acting as Trump’s agent.

So much about this case is unusual, but we’re seeing one example right now: jurors look hyper-focused as Davidson goes over the details of the hush-money deal reached with Stormy Daniels. In most criminal cases as complex as this one, some jurors might have a hard time following what exactly is important. But here, in this case which the public has been familiar with for years, the name Stormy Daniels is an immediate tip-off that the most important deal of all is under discussion.

Davidson is now being asked about the settlement agreement with Daniels. A lot of evidence is mounting that cuts against the idea Trump would have been unaware of all this.

Emails and text messages are repeatedly being brought up as corroborating evidence. For decades, Trump didn’t want his lawyers taking notes and didn’t use email or text himself.

Keith Davidson, who was Stormy Daniels’s lawyer, just explained that he used pseudonyms for Daniels and Trump in the written deal he drew up, and that Trump’s pseudonym, as has been reported, was David Dennison. Joshua Steinglass, the prosecutor, asks Davidson if David Dennison was a real person and Davidson responds that he was, and that they were hockey teammates. “How’s he feel about you now?” Steinglass asks. “He’s very upset,” Davidson responds to general laughter.

Another bruising quote directed toward Michael Cohen, as Keith Davidson talks about how no one wanted to call him about the Stormy Daniels story. “The moral of the story is that no one wanted to talk to Cohen,” Davidson says.

Prosecutors seem to be betting that jurors are not going to believe that Cohen was operating on his own, that Trump wasn’t aware of what was happening.

Davidson, asked what Cohen’s interest in the Stormy Daniels story was, says, “I believe that Michael Cohen was the personal attorney or general counsel for Donald Trump and that this story involved his client, that that was his interest in the story.”

Kate Christobek

Davidson said he ultimately finalized the Stormy Daniels deal with Michael Cohen for $130,000.

resume help livermore

“It could get a lot worse.” Keith Davidson, Stormy Daniels’s lawyer

Prosecutors are arguing in sum that the “Access Hollywood” tape put immense pressure on the Trump campaign, which was floundering after the tape was released. Thus, they say, Michael Cohen was pressured to pay hush money for the Stormy Daniels story. Davidson is a perfect witness for them right now, as he is testifying that he conveyed that things were bad for Trump but — if the Daniels story were public — could get worse.

After the "Access Hollywood" tape became public, Davidson texted Dylan Howard, the editor of The National Enquirer, that Trump's campaign was doomed, using an expletive. Howard responded: “Wave the white flag. It’s over people!”

Susanne Craig

Susanne Craig

Howard, by the way, is a witness everyone would love to hear from. He is a main player in almost every twist and turn of this trial. But it doesn’t look like he will ever take the stand. David Pecker testified he had heard Howard is in Australia and can’t travel because of a spinal condition.

Keith Davidson, speaking about the deal reached with Stormy Daniels, brings up another episode that has been raised multiple times and is key to the timeline here: The “Access Hollywood” tape on which Trump described assaulting women. Davidson calls the remarks, in a euphemism, “troublesome” — and then he says they had “tremendous influence” in raising interest in Daniels’s story.

Davidson, as expected, links the “Access Hollywood” tape directly to the Trump campaign’s heightened desire to purchase Stormy Daniels’s story. It wasn’t until the tape came out, Davidson testifies, that “interest reached a crescendo” in her story.

Keith Davidson says that when he talked to Cohen, he was met with a “hostile barrage” of “insults,” “insinuations” and “allegations” and that went on for quite a while.

Trump’s lead defense lawyer, Todd Blanche, looks delighted as Davidson describes Michael Cohen screaming expletives at him. Blanche laughs and smiles at Trump, who is seated next to him. Blanche has been very focused on destroying Cohen’s credibility with the jury.

As I mentioned a bit earlier, Michael Cohen has been insulted by three witnesses, and jurors are not getting a complimentary portrait of him. But Joshua Steinglass, the prosecutor, just leaned into the witness characterizations of Cohen: Davidson referred to a “jerk” without using his name and Steinglass asked, with some humor in his tone, “Who was that jerk?” Prosecutors were expecting to elicit this testimony and Steinglass playing into it signals that they’re somewhat comfortable with it.

Prosecutors are not shying away from Cohen's behavior, questioning witnesses about his hostile or intense interactions with them.

Alan Feuer

This definitely has the feeling of the prosecution fronting negative information about Cohen so as to take the sting out of it when the defense goes after him on the stand.

Matthew Haag and Alan Feuer

How Trump prosecutors used C-SPAN to inform jurors of sex assault claims.

Prosecutors on Tuesday called a seemingly low-profile witness to testify in the Donald J. Trump hush-money trial: Robert Browning, executive director of archives at C-SPAN, the cable television network that broadcasts government proceedings. But Mr. Browning ended up playing an important role.

Mr. Browning spent about 20 minutes on the stand, and prosecutors began with a straightforward question: What is C-SPAN? Then they played a series of key clips from the network, starting with a Trump campaign rally in October 2016 at which the candidate attacked two women who had accused him of sexual assault.

The decision by prosecutors to introduce the videos through Mr. Browning’s testimony was a way to contend with a ruling that the judge, Juan M. Merchan, had made at the trial’s start. The judge stopped the prosecution from presenting direct evidence about the many women who had accused Mr. Trump of assault as the 2016 campaign neared its end.

But Justice Merchan allowed prosecutors to give a taste of that evidence to the jury in a different way: by playing the videos of Mr. Trump’s reactions to the allegations by the women.

When the judge agreed to admit the videos two weeks ago, he said they showed how Mr. Trump was “agitated by these allegations.” And that emotional state, he suggested, was fair game for the jury to hear about.

The videos appeared to be a way for the prosecution to start building its case that the Trump campaign had become increasingly concerned about its potential vulnerabilities with female voters.

That will be important as prosecutors turn to telling their story about how Mr. Trump wanted to silence a tale of sexual scandal that the porn star Stormy Daniels was shopping around, out of a fear that it could further alienate women.

People stand next to a vehicle in Deir Al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, on April 2, where workers from the World Central Kitchen (WCK), were killed in Israeli airstrikes, according to the NGO.

The aid group World Central Kitchen said it was resuming operations in Gaza, less than a month after seven of its staff were killed in Israeli airstrikes.

"The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire. We are restarting our operation with the same energy, dignity, and focus on feeding as many people as possible," CEO Erin Gore said on Sunday.

Gaza residents are experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger and a U.S. official said earlier this month that parts of Gaza are already experiencing famine .

The April 1 strikes in Gaza triggered international criticism of Israel's military, which later admitted it was in "serious violation" of military operating procedures. World Central Kitchen, which distributes meals in disaster zones, had paused its operations there as a result.

"To date we have distributed more than 43 million meals and we are eager to deliver millions more. Food is a universal right and our work in Gaza has been the most life-saving mission in our 14-year organizational history," Gore said in a statement .

Israel cut off food, fuel and medicine to Gaza early in the war. Under international pressure, it has since allowed some aid in, but aid groups say it's far from what's needed . Israel says it is not limiting aid.

Gore said World Central Kitchen has 276 trucks with the equivalent of nearly 8 million meals ready to enter through the Rafah crossing with Egypt. The group also has trucks planned to come from Jordan and is looking to bring food via the sea through Israel's Ashdod Port.

Gore said the group is finalizing construction on a third major kitchen in the Mawasi neighborhood of southern Gaza — a facility they'll call Damian's Kitchen in honor of one of the staff members killed in the strikes.

Those killed in the strikes were Palestinian Saifeddin "Safi" Issam Ayad Abutaha; John Chapman of Britain; Jacob Flickinger of the U.S. and Canada; Lalzawmi "Zomi" Frankcom of Australia; Britons James Henderson and James Kirby; and Damian Sobol of Poland.

The group was founded in 2010 by chef José Andrés, who spoke at a memorial for the seven workers at Washington's National Cathedral on Thursday. "They risked everything to feed people they did not know — and would never meet," he said .

At least 224 humanitarian workers have been killed in the Israel-Hamas war since it began in October, according to the United Nations Security Council , which says the number is more than three times higher than ever recorded in a single conflict in a single year.

Israel apologized for the airstrikes and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country "deeply regrets the tragic incident." The Israeli military said the strikes violated military operating procedures and that senior military officers would be dismissed and reprimanded.

Gore said of the Israeli military: "While we have no concrete assurances, we continue to seek answers and advocate for change with the goal of better protecting WCK and all NGO workers serving selflessly in the worst humanitarian conditions. Our demand for an impartial and international investigation remains."

President Biden spoke with Netanyahu on Sunday. The White House said they discussed "increases in the delivery of humanitarian assistance into Gaza including through preparations to open new northern crossings starting this week. The President stressed the need for this progress to be sustained and enhanced in full coordination with humanitarian organizations."

Israel's military campaign in Gaza has killed more than 34,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. Some 1,200 people were killed in the Hamas-led attack in Israel on Oct. 7 and 133 hostages remain in Gaza, some of whom are thought to be dead , Israeli officials say.
