Good Luck Sakhi Movie Review

Release Date : January 28,2022

123telugu.com Rating : 2.25/5

Starring: Keerthy Suresh, Aadhi Pinishetty, Jagapathi Babu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Raghu Babu

Director: Nagesh Kukunoor

Producers: Sudheer Chandra Padiri, Shravya Varma

Music Director: Devi Sri Prasad

Cinematography : Chirantan Das

Editor: Sreekar Prasad

Good Luck Sakhi is the first sports-based movie and the 3rd female-centric movie of Keerthy Suresh. Directed by the National award-winner, Nagesh Kukunoor, this film has been released in theaters today. Let’s see how it is.

Sakhi Pamar (Keerthy Suresh) is a mischievous girl who is treated as the unluckiest in her village. On the other hand, Jagapathi Babu is a retired colonel who returns to his hometown looking for the best shooters. Sakhi’s childhood friend, Goli Raju (Aadhi Pinishetty) introduces her to the colonel. Impressed with her shooting skills, Jagapathi Babu starts training her. What happened during the training? Did Sakhi achieve her goal? Did she become the winner? The answers will be known only if you watch the movie on the big screen.

Plus Points:

The phenomenal performance of the National award winner, Keerthy Suresh as Sakhi Pamar, is the big asset of the movie. She lived in the character and looked gorgeous as a village belle. Keerthy’s Chittoor dialect is an added advantage to her performance.

Jagapathi Babu is very neat as the coach. A few inspirational dialogues mouthed by him are good. Aadhi Pinishetty did justice to his supporting role. Rahul Ramakrishna is also performed well. Devi Sri Prasad’s wonderful background score makes a few scenes more beautiful.

Minus Points:

Noted director, Nagesh Kukunoor has come up with a regular sports drama. One expects solid emotions and twists and turns in a sports-based film but surprisingly, Good Luck Sakhi lacks the emotional content.

The film has no strong conflict point that will make audiences sit and watch the movie eagerly. Aadhi Pinishetty’s role has nothing much to do with the story.

Nagesh Kukunoor failed to make Good Luck Sakhi an engaging sports drama. In addition to the slow-paced narration, the movie has some silly scenes in the second half. The climax, which should have been engaging is a big letdown.

Technical Aspects:

This is undoubtedly Nagesh Kukunoor’s weakest movie as he failed to make the sports drama an engaging one. Devi Sri Prasad’s songs and background score are the major highlights of the movie. The cinematography by Chirantan Das is nice. When it comes to editing, there are no flaws and Sreekar Prasad cut the film in a well-manner. The production values by the producers, Sudheer and Shravya are good.

On the whole, Good Luck Sakhi is a slow-paced sports drama that makes you feel bad for Keerthy Suresh. Though the actress delivered her best, it couldn’t help in making the movie a winner. The film has nothing much to offer and even Keerthy couldn’t save it. Good Luck Sakhi failed to hit the bullseye.

Lucky Man Movie Review

Yogi babu does a very good job in this entertaining drama about an unlucky man who finally gets lucky. below goes our lucky man tamil movie review.

lucky man movie review 123telugu

Performances

Story & narration, technical aspects & music.

Balaji Venugopal, who hails from the radio and comedy space, has turned towards directorial duties with his comic entertainer Lucky Man, featuring Yogi Babu. The film is an imperfect yet interesting take on luck, live, love and humanity.

The film opens right from what the title indicates, we are introduced to Murugan, an unlucky man who has nothing going right. However, tracks change when he wins a car in a lucky lottery, but he soon gets into an ego clash with a local cop (Veera). Lucky Man then moves into a quarter where the car is lost, and what happens from there forms the rest of the story.

The first half of the film moves at a good pace and has a lot of events to develop our interest, Yogi Babu has a great presence and his dialogue delivery keeps it going at many points. Supporting him well are Rachel and Veera, who have very good performances to put together.

The second half of Lucky Man does not gather as much as interest as the first, but the film does manage to put across is points well through the use of funny situations and good dialogues throughout.

Sean Roldan’s songs are big highlights for the film, and the technical team too has put their best foot forward.

Balaji Venugopal could have made the second half of Lucky Man tighter with more interesting face offs between the two characters in the middle, but the film is still a good watch for the entertainment and gyaan it provides.  Lucky Man Movie Review by Siddarth Srinivas

Lucky Man REVIEW: Is Yogi Babu's latest Tamil film worth watching with family? Read on

Y ogi Babu's Lucky Man film has already received positive feedback from special media premieres and celebrity programmes. The film is set to enter theatres today (September 1st). Balaji Venugopal directed the film. Balaji has starred in several movies while working as an RJ and has made his directorial debut with this flick. The plot centres around the journey of a guy in quest of wealth.

Think Studios is in charge of the production of Lucky Man. Sean Roldan created the soundtrack for the film. Sandeep K Vijay directed the film. The film stars Yogi Babu, Veera, Rebecca, RS Shivaji, and many others. The film's trailer was just unveiled, and it sparked excitement among moviegoers.

The film's press conference was recently conducted in Chennai. "I have done everything like radio, TV, voice artist, and acting for 20 years," stated director Balaji Venugopal. But it took me a long time to complete the film Lucky Man. It was 'Muruga Bhakthi' who introduced me to Yogi Babu. 'This narrative is like looking back at my own life,' he stated as he listened to the account. I will undoubtedly accomplish it.'

Yogi Babu on Lucky Man:

When something positive occurs, specific individuals always comment negatively about it. They told me that Yogi Babu would not be coming to shoot and dub. But we got everything done despite listening to all of that."

While shooting, Yogi Babu sir had a major medical issue in his family one day. That day, we had planned to film in three different sites. If we miss that day, we'll have to wait a month for the next call sheet. He answered, 'I'll come,' when everyone was in pain and they believed they could pack up in the afternoon. Despite the issues, we began at 1.30 and went until 5.30 in comedy."

"From an empty auditorium to a cheering SATISFIED audience," Balaji Venugopal said on his Facebook page. In Kaaraikudi, we completed the FIRST EVER PREVIEW OF LUCKYMAN. What a reaction, and what a passion for the picture. When my name was called, time stood still for me, and the entire audience cheered in unison. Those claps and whistles are still ringing in my ears. Thank you to the Universe and my team."

Lucky Man Movie Review: A convincing Yogi Babu and great dialogue writing elevate this simple comedy

Rating: ( 3 / 5).

American actor and magician Channing Pollock once said, “The only good luck many great men ever had was being born with the ability and determination to overcome bad luck.” Looks like, Balaji Venugopal, who sets foot into the direction side of cinema with Lucky Man has somehow been inspired by this quote. Starring an efficient Yogi Babu (quite the perfect casting) and Veera in important roles, Lucky Man is an interesting film that leaves you entertained but does not necessarily travel along with you after you leave the theatres. Cast: Yogi Babu, Raichal Rabecca, Veera Director: Balaji Venugopal Lucky Man revolves around Murugan (Yogi Babu), a man labelled unlucky from his childhood, who gets a car as a prize from a 'Lucky' draw. How the car steers his life forward, and how he manoeuvres around the luck factor is the film's story. Lucky Man starts with a group of young boys denying another young boy the chance to play cricket with them because he has never brought any luck to the team. Balaji sets the premise right from the first scene, and just when we sit back to watch how labels around Murugan go away, Balaji throws in a car to get things into second gear.  There is a very realistic representation of people's emotional attachment to materialistic things. Here again, the filmmaker takes an interesting detour and makes Lucky Man all about Murugan's luck, his lucky car, and how this creates tension between him and Inspector Sivakumar (Veera). Miscommunication and ego pits Murugan against the straightforward Sivakumar, who is known for his amour propre.  Lucky Man soon becomes a tale of understanding luck is an abstract construct, and we see what happens to Murugan when that luck is taken away from him. The rest of the film, which has an interesting but stretched-out screenplay, is about Murugan's search for his lucky charm.  While it is all smooth sailing in the first half, the second half is riddled with speed bumps. There is no real tension about who has taken away Murugan's car. It is all about how he gets it back, and there is no doubt that he will get it by the time the credits roll. Even the way it transpires is archaic and far from innovative. A crisper screenplay in the second half could have helped the audience reach the destination a lot sooner. For example, the song ' Yedhu Da Inga Sandosham ' shows a montage of Murugan's struggles in trying to retrieve his car. The song is positioned at a place where the audience is eager and curious to know what's next. The song, although well composed, only results in a loss of momentum. The strength of this film lies in its dialogue writing. It is no surprise that the jokes are well-timed, given that Balaji Venugopal comes from a background of comedy and that the film is led by Yogi Babu. But what is surprising is how the punch dialogues and the philosophical ones too are great value additions to the film. In a scene, where Murugan slaps his wife Devayani (Raichal Rebecca) in haste, the latter says, " Neengalam kandavanta kaata mudiadha kovatha kattinava kitta kaatradhukku per dhaane da kalyanam ..." Dialogues like these, which are meant as food for thought on various topics are placed at very random and unexpected interjections in the film, which works wonders. While the dialogues are on point, a disturbing factor throughout the film is the dubbing. This is an issue that I previously observed in Yogi Babu's Yaanai Mugathan as well. Probably, the actor improvises a lot while dubbing. While many jokes do land, the lip sync being... out of sync is a deterrent to enjoying the laughs.  It is not easy for a comedian to transition into the protagonist in Tamil cinema. Yogi Babu has at least one release every two weeks. This week itself, he has Karumegangal Kalaiginrana in which he is one among an ensemble, as well as  Lucky Man in which he plays the lead. Rest assured, Yogi Babu is lucky enough to be getting a good probability of well-written roles out of the multitude of film releases he has every month. As we leave the theatre though, we won’t feel like we watched the film of the year, but then, we definitely will not feel too unlucky either.

Movie Synopsis

Lucky Man: A guy with lots of bad luck wins a car in a lucky draw, and that surprise completely changes his entire life.

Movie Review

Balaji Venugopal’s “Lucky Man” has an idea that could be a light-hearted version of “Ayyapanum Koshiyum.” The first half sets up a good foundation with moments building tension between characters, but the second half does not make the most of it.

Sean Roldan’s background music fits the movie nicely, but the songs aren’t used much because the writing is average. Yogi Babu and Veera suit their roles well and perform admirably. The family scenes with Rachal Rebecca and Yogi Babu’s son are pleasant. The technical aspects, like editing and cinematography, contribute well to the film.

Yogi Babu is portrayed as an unlucky guy teased for his bad luck. Even though he faced financial difficulties, winning a car in a lucky draw completely changed his situation. The car makes positive changes, but he strongly starts to believe in the luck of the car, he loves it more than his wife does.

Lucky Man movie

He thinks that the car is the best thing that has come in his life, but his wife thinks the other way. Problems start when he meets a policeman, leading to conflicts. In the middle of all this, someone steals his car.

Lucky Man starts well, but as it goes on, it loses its direction and some scenes don’t support the main idea. While Veera and Yogi Babu’s scenes are written decently, they don’t convey emotions effectively. For example, Yogi Babu’s urgency to retrieve the car isn’t portrayed strongly. Additionally, certain parts in the second half become confusing and seem unrealistic for a movie that began in a more grounded manner.

At one point, Yogi Babu is shown stealing a dog for revenge. Even though the director tries to explain it with various connections at the end, we don’t feel anything because the emotions seem empty.

Overall, “Lucky Man” doesn’t manage to win our hearts completely, even though it has a good story.
