निबंध 1 (250 शब्द) – भारतीय सेना और उनके कर्तव्य.

भारतीय सेना में एक गजब सा आकर्षण है, जो हम में से कई युवाओं को अपनी देशभक्ति दिखाने के लिए अपनी ओर आकर्षित करता है। मैं यह कह सकता हूँ, कि यह हमारे सबसे अच्छे कार्य क्षेत्रों में से एक है और यह मेरा भी “ड्रीम जॉब” है। जैसा कि हम जानते है कि भारतीय सशस्त्र बल, भारतीय सेना की सबसे बड़ी शाखाओं में से एक है। भारतीय सेना को तीन भागों में बांटा गया है। उनमें से एक हमारी सशस्त्र थल सेना व वायु सेना और भारतीय नौसेना दो अन्य हमारे भारतीय सेना का हिस्सा है।

भारतीय सेना के कर्तव्य

• भारतीय सेना हमें किसी भी प्रकार के सांसारिक और आंतकी हमले से बचाती है।
• वो यह सुनिश्चित करते है कि भारत के प्रत्येक नागरिक सुरक्षित रहें।
• वो भारतीय सीमाओं पर एक सुरक्षा दीवार की तरह खड़े रहते है।
• वे हमारे लिए 24 घंटे काम करते है पर उन्हें हमारी तरह छुट्टी नही मिलती है।
• वे अपने परिवार से दूर रहकर पूरे राष्ट्र को सुरक्षा प्रदान करते है।
• एक सेना का अधिकारी अपने राष्ट्र की खातिर अपने जीवन का बलिदान भी दे सकता है।
• वे हमेशा अनुशासित और हमेशा अपना ध्यान केन्द्रित रखते है। इससे उन्हें अपने कार्य में अच्छा प्रदर्शन करने और किसी भी हादसे के दौरान राष्ट्र के लोगों को बचाने में सहायता मिलती है।

हमारी सेना वास्तव में कड़ी मेहनत करती है और हमें हमेशा अपनी सेना का सम्मान करना चाहिए। केवल उनकी वजह से हम अपने घरों में शांति से सोते है, वो रातों को जागकर हमारी और हमारे राष्ट्र की रक्षा करते है। वो हमारे राष्ट्र के वास्तविक नायक है और हर एक नागरिक को उनका धन्यवाद और सम्मान करना चाहिए। वे एकजुट रहना और एकता के साथ सबकी मदद करना भी हमें सिखाते है। वो हमें अनुशासित रहना भी सिखाते है। वास्तव में मैं अपने जीवन में एक सेना का अधिकारी बनना चाहता हूँ और अपने राष्ट्र की सेवा करना चाहता हूँ। यह मेरे साथ-साथ परिवार के लिए भी बहुत गर्व और सम्मान की बात होगी।

निबंध 2 (400 शब्द) – मैं एक सेना अधिकारी क्यों बनना चाहता हूँ?

हमारी भारतीय थल सेना हमारे भारतीय सेना में सबसे बड़ी रेजीमेंटों में से एक है। भारतीय सेना के इतिहास में यह सबसे पुराना है, और ब्रिटिश काल में ही इसकी स्थापना की गयी थी। दरअसल अंग्रेजों के भारत में आने के बाद यह अपने अस्तित्व में आई थी। भारतीय सेना की स्थापना 1 अप्रेल सन् 1895 में हुई थी। मार्शल कोडंडेरा “किप्पर” मडप्पा करिअप्पा हमारे आजाद भारत के कमांडर-इन-चीफ हुए थे।

मैं भारतीय सेना को प्यार करता हूँ

• मेरा स्कूल एक आर्मी स्कूल है और मेरे ज्यादातर दोस्तों के पिता भारतीय सेना में है। वो इतने अच्छे तरीके से कपड़े पहनते है जो मुझे बहुत रोमांचित करता है।
• वो इतने अनुशासित होते है कि वे अपना एक मिनट भी व्यर्थ नही करते है। मेरे मित्रों को भी अपने पारिवारिक माहौल के कारण इसकी आदत लग गयी है। वास्तव में यह मुझे उनके जैसे ही बनने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करती है। यह उनके लिए बहुत तरीके से सहायक होती है क्योंकि वो जो भी करते है बहुत ही एकाग्रता से करते है, इससे उन्हें पढ़ाई में अच्छे अंक हासिल करने में, और खेल के मैदानों में अच्छा प्रदर्शन करने आदि में मदद मिलती है।
• वे अच्छी तरह से संचालित कॉलोनियों में रहते है, और सेनाओं कि कॉलोनियां हमेशा साफ और स्वच्छ होती है। सेना की कॉलोनियों का ध्यान हमेशा हरियाली पर केन्द्रित होता है। उनकी कॉलोनियों में विभिन्न प्रकार के पेड़ और पौधे होते है। हालांकि हम एक ही शहर में रहते है, लेकिन उनका छावनी क्षेत्र बहुत ही शांतिपूर्ण और तरोताजा दिखाई देता है।
• उनके पास खेलने और अभ्यास करने के लिए बड़े मैदान होते है और मैं रोजाना वहां सैनिकों को अभ्यास करते हुए देखता हूँ। वे इतने सारे कार्यों को करते है कि उन्हें देखकर बहुत दिलचस्प लगता है और साथ ही साथ ये हमें प्रेरणा भी देता है।
• वो उनका एक साथ “यस सर” कहकर चिल्लाना वास्तव में मुझे बहुत पसंद आता है। वास्तव में सब लोग अलग-अलग है, लेकिन वो सभी एक जैसा ही व्यवहार करते है और साथ ही साथ एक जैसे दिखते भी है।
• उन सभी के एक जैसे कपड़े, एक तरह की हेयर स्टाइल, और साथ ही साथ एक ही तरह के उपकरण होते है। वास्तव में वो एक हीरो की तरह दिखते है, और मेरे कई दोस्त घंटो बस उन्हें ही देखने में बिताते है, और सभी बस उनके जैसा ही बनना चाहते है।
• वो बहुत चुस्त, सतर्क रहते है और कॉलोनी से बाहर के लोगों पर संदिग्ध नजर रखते है। वे घंटो तक लगातार अभ्यास करते है।
• इसके अलावा जिस तरह से वो आतंकियों का सामना करते है और उन्हें मार गिराते है, वास्तव में सशस्त्र बलों के बारे में यह एक अच्छी चीज है।
• सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक एक ऐसी घटना थी जिसने हमें अपनी भारतीय सेना पर बहुत ही गर्व महसूस कराया है, और मेरे लिए सेना के प्रति प्यार और सम्मान कुछ ऐसा है कि जिसे मैं अपने शब्दों में व्यक्त नही कर सकता हूँ, मैं बस सेना के साथ जुड़ना चाहता हूँ और मैं भी उसका एक हिस्सा बनना चाहता हूँ।

एक पेशे के तौर पर हमेशा कुछ ऐसा चुनना चाहिए जो आपको सबसे अधिक प्रेरित करता हो, क्योंकि जब हम अपने जुनून को एक पेशे के रुप में चुनते है, तो हम अच्छा प्रदर्शन करते है। उसी तरह से मैं भारतीय सेना का एक हिस्सा बनना चाहता हूँ और मुझे इसके परिणाम की कोई चिन्ता नही है। मेरे कई दोस्त यह सोचते है कि इसमें उनकी जान जाने का डर है, लेकिन मैं मजबूत और हिम्मती हूँ और मैं अपने राष्ट्र के लिए कुछ करना चाहता हूँ। मुझे इस बात की परवाह नही कि मुझे अपने राष्ट्र के लिए मरना पड़ेगा, लेकिन यह मेरे लिए सबसे अधिक गर्व की बात होगी।

सशस्त्र बलों का हिस्सा होना एक गर्व की बात है और हम में से कई लोग सेना के अधिकारी बनना चाहते है और मैं भी उनमें से एक हूँ। मुझे भारतीय सेना बहुत पसंद है, लेकिन केवल उनकी बहादुरी के लिए ही नहीं बल्कि उनके अनुशासन, स्थानीयता, और उनके शिष्टाचार भी मुझे बहुत पसंद है। वास्तव में वही सब एक सच्चे भारतीय है। हम सभी एक ही देश में रहते है लेकिन वो अपने देश और राष्ट्र की सेवा सबसे अच्छे तरीके से करते है।

एक सेना अधिकारी और उनके कार्य

मैं उन्हें एक सच्चा भारतीय नागरिक मानता हूँ, क्योंकि वास्तव में वे सभी मानदंडो का पालन करते है। मुझे यह बताने दे कि वास्तव में क्या आप जानते है, कि एक भारतीय के क्या कर्तव्य होते है? आपको भारतीय कैसे कहा जाता है, या आपको अपने राष्ट्र के लिए क्या करना चाहिए? मैं जानता हूँ कि हममें से बहुत लोगों को यह पता भी नही होगा, और कुछ लोग सोचते होंगे कि वे अपनी कमाई करते है और अपने देश की जी.डी.पी. को बढ़ाते है और देश आगे बढ़ता है। लेकिन क्या आपने कभी सोचा है कि सरकारी नीतियों और नियमों में भाग लेने के अलावा आपके असली कर्तव्य क्या है?

• मैं आप सबको समझाता हूँ कि एक सच्चे भारतीय को अपनी संस्कृति को कभी नही भूलना चाहिए कि हमारी संस्कृति क्या है? हमारी संस्कृति सबका सम्मान करती है, या तो वो एक बच्चा हो या कोई वृद्ध हो। भारतीय सेना हमें सबका सम्मान करना सिखाती है। एक सेना का अधिकारी हमेशा सम्मानित भाषा का प्रयोग करता है।
• वे न केवल हमारे राष्ट्र का बल्कि हमारे पर्यावरण का भी ख्याल रखते है। यह प्रत्येक भारतीय का कर्तव्य है कि हमें अपने आस-पास की जगहों के साथ हमें अपने पर्यावरण को भी स्वच्छ रखना चाहिए। लेकिन हमारे पास तो कचरे को कूड़ेदान में फेकने तक का समय नहीं है। सेना की कॉलोनियां हमेशा स्वच्छ और हरी-भरी रहती है क्योंकि वो अपनी कॉलोनियों की अच्छे से देखभाल करते है और वे प्रकृति की रक्षा करते है और हमारे राष्ट्र को स्वच्छ रखने में अपना योगदान देते है। यह हर एक भारतीय की जिम्मेदारी और कर्तव्य है कि वो राष्ट्र को साफ और स्वच्छ रखें।
• सेना के अधिकारी बहुत ही अनुशासित होते है, और यही अनुशासन कई तरीके से उनकी मदद करता है। इतने सख्त होने के बाद भी वो कुछ भुलते नही हैं और ऐसा करने में अनुशासन ही उनकी मदद करता है। अगर देश में बाकी सारे लोग भी अनुशासित हो जाएंगे, तो हम कभी भी सार्वजनिक नियमों का पालन करना नही भूलेंगे, जैसे कि हम हेलमेट इत्यादि ले जाना कभी नही भूलेंगे। ये सभी छोटी-छोटी चीजे ही एक बहुत बड़ा अन्तर ला सकती है। इस तरह मैं कह सकता हूँ कि सेना के अधिकारी ही एक सच्चे भारतीय होते है।
• उपरोक्त बातों के अलावा भी उनकी कुछ बड़ी जिम्मेदारियां होती है, जैसे कि अपने राष्ट्र की रक्षा करना और प्रत्येक नागरिक की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करना।
• वे अलग-अलग बटालियनों में काम करते है और उन्हें हर स्थिति के लिए प्रशिक्षित किया जाता है। एक सेना के अधिकारी को किसी भी बटालियन का पिता कहा जाता है और वे एक साथ ही रहते है, एक साथ काम करते है और सब एक साथ मिलकर आनंद भी लेते है। वे अपने स्वयं के परिवारों से दूर रहकर विभिन्न सीमाओं वाले क्षेत्रों में तैनात रहते हुए वे सभी एक परिवार की तरह रहते है, और देश की रक्षा करते है।
• सेना का कोई भी व्यक्ति बहुत सारे बलिदान करता है और बस ये राष्ट्र ही उसके लिए सबकुछ है। वो कभी भी किसी भी स्थिति का सामना करने से कभी नही हिचकिचाते और न ही घबराते है और हमारी रक्षा के लिए वो सबकुछ करते है।

एक सेना अधिकारी की दैनिक दिनचर्या

• सेना के किसी भी व्यक्ति को हमेशा फिट रहना चाहिए, इसलिए वो रोजाना सुबह जल्दी उठते है और अपनी पी.टी. और अन्य अभ्यास को करते है।
• वे हर चीज के लिए एक समय निर्धारित करते है, जैसे कि उदाहरण के लिए 30 मिनट के ब्रेक में उन्हें नाश्ता करना है, और यदि वहां कोई लेट पहुचता है तो उसे नाश्ता परोसा नहीं जाता है।
• इसके बाद वे फिर से अपनी बटालियन के साथ विभिन्न उपकरणों और तकनीकीयों का प्रशिक्षण करने के लिए मैदान पर जाते है और अभ्यास करते है।
• इसके बाद उनके पास दोपहर के भोजन के लिए कुछ समय और उसके बाद खेलों के लिए कुछ समय और कुछ समय उनके खुद के लिए होता है।
• शाम को वे अपने साथियों के साथ समय बिताते है और कुछ समय प्रशासनिक कार्यों के लिए भी देते है।
• वास्तव में उनके पास बहुत ही सख्त और व्यस्थ कार्यक्रम होता है।

भारतीय सेना हम में से बहुत सारे लोगों के लिए एक प्रेरणा का स्रोत होते है, जैसे कि वो किस तरह से चलते है, किस तरह से बात करते है, उनकी हेयर स्टाइल उनके हथियार और उनके सभी चीजों के बारे में जो भी है मुझे उनसे प्यार है। एक सेना का अधिकारी होना इतना आसान नहीं है, इसके लिए बहुत साहस और अभ्यास की जरुरत होती है। हर साल कई उम्मीदवार सिर्फ ऐसे ही दबाव को सहन नही कर पाते है और वो प्रशिक्षण छोड़ देते है। लेकिन एक बार जब आप इसमें सफल हो जाते है तो दुनिया की कोई भी ताकत आपको एक सैनिक और फिर सेना का अधिकारी बनने से रोक नही सकती है।

भारतीय सेना को दुनिया के दूसरे बड़े देशों से भी ज्यादा सबसे कठिन और बड़े युद्धों पर जीत हासिल करने के लिए जाना जाता है। भारत में हमारे इन जवानों को राष्ट्रवादी प्रजातंत्र किसी भगवान से कम नहीं समझती। 

ईश्वर का कार्य भी प्राणों की रक्षा करना होता है, जो वह धरती पर आकर भारतीय सेना के रूप में कर रहा है। आपको बता दें कि दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी और मजबूत सेनाओं की सूची में भारत भी आता है।

पहले के मुकाबले अब हमारे देश ने सुरक्षा विभाग में बड़े निवेश करना प्रारंभ किए हैं, जिसके कारण भारतीय सेना की शक्ति भी कई गुना बढ़ चुकी है। कहते हैं कि जब परेड के समय भारतीय सेना एक साथ कदम से कदम मिलाकर चलती हैं, तो एक दुरुस्त पुल भी हिलने लगता है। 

हमारे जवान पूरी तरह से देश को समर्पित होकर रात दिन देश की रक्षा करते हैं। भारतीय सेना को को धरती, जल और आकाश इन तीनों ही मार्ग से देश की लगने वाली सीमाओं की रक्षा करने के लिए थल सेना, वायु सेना और नौसेना इन तीन अलग-अलग भागों में बांटा गया है।

एक समय हुआ करता था जब विश्व की बड़ी महासत्ताएं भारत को सुरक्षा मामलों में आंख दिखाया करती थी। वैसे ही हमारे नापाक पड़ोसी देशों की वजह से भारत को ऐसे स्थिति में युद्ध का सामना करना पड़ा था, जब भारतीय सैनिकों के पास इतने सशक्त हथियार नहीं हुआ करते थे। आज संयुक्त राष्ट्र से लेकर दुनिया के हर बड़े देश भारतीय सेना की गाथा के डंका बजाय करते हैं।

भारतीय सेना पर सच्चे राष्ट्रवादी देशवासियों को गर्व नहीं बल्कि अभिमान है, जो कभी भी नहीं टूटेगा। हम अपने पड़ोसी देश पाकिस्तान का उदाहरण ले सकते हैं, जहां पाकिस्तान की सेना ही सरकार का तख्ता पलट कर के खुद सत्ता में आकर लोगों पर अत्याचार करते हैं। 

दुनिया में ऐसे कई देश हैं, जो इसी पद्धति को लेकर आगे बढ़ते हैं। लेकिन भारत दुनिया में इकलौता ऐसा देश है जहां के लोग अपनी सेनाओं को भगवान का दर्जा देते हैं और उनसे एक मजबूत भावनात्मक कड़ी जोड़ते हैं।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ में कुल 120 से अधिक देशों की सेनाएं और मजबूत पुलिस बल को शामिल किया गया है, जिसमें भारत की भी उपस्थिति है। 

आपको बता दें कि UNO द्वारा स्थापित किए गए ‘पीसकीपिंग फोर्स’ में भारतीय सेनाएं सबसे अधिक बलशाली और अपने टारगेट को प्राप्त करने वाली सफल सेनाएं मानी जाती हैं। इस प्रकार भारत से बाहर जाकर भारतीय सेनाएं देश का गौरव बढ़ाकर विश्व में शांति कायम करने के लिए निरंतर संघर्ष कर रहे हैं।

भारतीय सेनाओं में थल सेना सबसे अधिक सक्रिय शाखा मानी जाती है। देश की सीमा पर दुश्मनों के घुसपैठ से लेकर नक्सलवाद और आतंकवादियों की सफाई, आंतरिक गृह युद्ध जैसे माहौल से निपटना  इत्यादि कुछ प्रमुख कार्य होते हैं। भारतीय सेना का जीवन वाकई बहुत संघर्ष पूर्ण होता है।

भारतीय थल सेना के प्रमुख कार्यों में शामिल है, देश की अखंडता और सुरक्षा को संरक्षित रखना। भारतीय सेना हर समय देश की सीमा पर पहरा देती हैं। एक आम नागरिक अपने घर में बहुत आराम से अपना जीवन जी रहा है, क्योंकि उसकी रक्षा करने के लिए भारतीय सेना लगातार देश की सीमा पर खड़ी है। 

सीमा की रक्षा के अलावा भारतीय सेना नक्सलवाद से प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में सर्च ऑपरेशन चलाकर नक्सलवादियों का सफ़ाया करती है। 

आतंकवादियों के देश में होने वाले खुफिया घुसपैठ पर भारतीय सेना कड़ा रुख जताकर सीधे उन्हें सरेंडर करवाती है, या उनके कार्यों के लिए जहन्नुम भेजती है। इसके अलावा भारतीय सेना का संबंध खुफिया एजेंसियों के साथ भी होता है, जिससे उन्हें देश के आंतरिक राज्यों में छुपे आतंकवादियों से जुड़े लोगों का खात्मा करने में बहुत सहायता मिलती है।

आंतरिक समस्याओं के अलावा प्राकृतिक आपदाओं में भी भारतीय सेना ईश्वर का दूत बनकर लोगों की मदद करती है। बाढ़ , भूकंप , सुनामी , भुखमरी इत्यादि जैसी गंभीर समस्याओं से निपटने के लिए हमारी सेनाएं हमेशा आगे रहती है और बचाव अभियान की सहायता से आपदा पीड़ितों के जानमाल की रक्षा कर उन्हें सुरक्षित जगह पर पहुंचाती है

इसके अलावा हमारी सेना हिंद महासागर, बंगाल की खाड़ी और पश्चिम की तरफ पड़ने वाले समुद्रों में भी अपने अड्डे पर तैनात होकर दूरदराज से आती दुश्मन जहाजों को देश में घुसपैठ करने से रोकती है। 

आज हमारा भारत एक नया भारत है, जहां भारतीय सेनाओं को सबसे प्राथमिकता पर रखा जाता है और हाई क्वालिटी डिफेंस इक्विपमेंट प्रदान किया जाता है। वायु सेना के विषय में कहा जाता है कि उनकी अनुमति के बिना दूसरे देशों से हमारे सीमा पर कोई परिंदा भी पर नहीं मार सकता।

भारतीय सेना के पद Ranks in Indian Army (Hindi)

भारतीय सशस्त्र सैन्य कर्मियों को विभिन्न पदों के आधार पर बांटा गया है। विभिन्न शाखाओं में जवानों के कार्य और वर्दी पर लगे सितारों के आधार पर ही उनकी आय भी निश्चित की जाती है। भारतीय सेना के विभिन्न पदों और रैंक के विषय में निम्नलिखित जानकारी दी गई है।

1. थलसेना Indian Army

थल सेना की शक्ती और देशप्रेम उनके ध्येय वाक्य में झलकता है। ‘सर्विस बिफोर सेल्फ’ थल सेना का ध्येय है, जिसका अर्थ होता है- स्वयं से पहले सेवा। भारतीय थल सेना अथवा इंडियन आर्मी को तीन अलग-अलग कैटेगरी में बांटा गया है, जिसके आधार पर ही उनके पद सुनिश्चित किए जाते हैं। 

इन श्रेणियों में पहले नंबर पर कमिश्नर ऑफिसर, दूसरी श्रेणी में जूनियर कमिश्नर तथा अंतिम श्रेणी में नॉन कमिश्नर ऑफिसर का समावेश होता है। थल सेना में सबसे बड़ा पद ‘फील्ड मार्शल’ का है। 

यह नियमित रूप से नहीं प्रदान किया जाता है। इसके अलावा जनरल को थल सेना का प्रमुख भी कहा जाता है, जिसे कमांडर इन चीफ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। यह भारतीय सेना का सबसे बड़ा पद होता है।

3. नौसेना Indian Navy

‘शन्नो वरुणः’ भारतीय नौसेना का ध्येय वाक्य है, जिसका अर्थ है- समुद्र के देवता हम पर धन्य हों। भारतीय तटों की सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी नौसेना की होती है। हमारे नौसेना के जवानों का इतिहास शौर्य गाथा से परिपूर्ण है। 

वर्ष 1971 में बांग्लादेश को लेकर हुए भारत और पाकिस्तान सहित विश्व स्तर के युद्ध में भारतीय नौसेना ने अद्वितीय पराक्रम का प्रदर्शन किया था।

1. प्रथम कश्मीर युद्ध 1947.

भारत-पाकिस्तान के विभाजन के बाद तुरंत ही जम्मू कश्मीर के मुद्दे को लेकर भारत और पाकिस्तान में युद्ध शुरू हो गया था। पाकिस्तान की सेनाओं ने 22 अक्टूबर 1947 को जम्मू कश्मीर पर आक्रमण कर दिया था।

2. भारत पाकिस्तान युद्ध 1965

भारत और पाकिस्तान की सेनाओं के बीच दूसरा युद्ध 1965 में हुआ था। इस युद्ध में भारत विजयी हुआ था। पाकिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति अयूब खान ने ऑपरेशन जिब्राल्टर अगस्त 1965 को लांच किया था जिसमें पाकिस्तान की पैरामिलिट्री ट्रूप्स भारत के अधिकार वाले जम्मू कश्मीर में प्रवेश कर गये और उन्होंने भारत के खिलाफ भावनाओं को भड़काने का काम किया था।

3. भारत चीन युद्ध 1967

इस युद्ध में चीन की सेनाओं ने भारत के सिक्किम राज्य में 1 अक्टूबर 1967 को घुसने का प्रयास किया था। 10 अक्टूबर 1967 को दोनों तरफ की सेनाओं के बीच झड़प हुई थी।

इस युद्ध में भारत के 88 जवान मारे गए थे और 163 जवान घायल हुए थे, जबकि चीन के 300 जवान मारे गए थे और 450 जवान घायल हुए थे। हारने के पश्चात चीन की सेना सिक्किम से वापस चली गई थी।

4. बांग्लादेश लिबरेशन वॉर 1971

इसमें भारत के 3500 सिपाही मारे गए थे और पाकिस्तान के 11000 सिपाही मारे गए थे। पाकिस्तान के 220 टैंक इस युद्ध में नष्ट हो गए थे।

5. सियाचिन संघर्ष 1984

इस युद्ध में भारत ने अप्रैल 1984 को ऑपरेशन में मेघदूत चलाया था।

6. कारगिल युद्ध 1999

इस युद्ध में पाकिस्तान को हराने के लिए ऑपरेशन विजय चलाया गया था। इस युद्ध की शुरुआत 3 मई 1999 को हुई थी। पाकिस्तान ने अपने 5000 सैनिकों को लेकर कारगिल की ऊंची पहाड़ियों पर घुसपैठ कर ली थी।

उन सैनिकों को भगाने के लिए ऑपरेशन विजय चलाया गया। यह युद्ध 17 दिनों तक चला। इसमें हजारों बम मोर्टार रॉकेट तोप गोलीबारी का इस्तेमाल किया गया। इसके साथ ही पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ मिग-27 और मिग- 29 का भी इस्तेमाल किया गया था।

भारतीय सैनिकों को ज्यादातर अपनी वर्दी पहने, हेलमेट और हाथ में बंदूक लिए देखा जाता है। सैनिक स्वस्थ, मजबूत और सक्रिय होते हैं। एक सैनिक होना आसान नहीं है। सैनिक को अपने जीवन में कई चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ता है। कठिन प्रशिक्षण और कड़क अनुशासन के बाद उनको सैनिक का ख़िताब मिलता है।

सैनिक अपने परिवार से ज्यादातर दूर रहते है और मुश्किल से साल में एक या दो बार उन से मिल पाते है।त्यौहार पर भी उन्हें छुट्टी नहीं मिलती। कभी-कभी उन्हें अपनी जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त आपूर्ति भी नहीं मिलती है। कोई भी मौसम और कठिन परिस्थितियों में भी उन्हें जीवित रहना पड़ता है।

एक सैनिक का एकमात्र उद्देश्य  देश को आंतरिक और बाहरी दुश्मनों से बचाना और देश के लिए लड़ना है। सैनिकों द्वारा की गई कड़ी मेहनत के कारण ही हम बिना किसी खतरे के एक सुरक्षित जीवन जीते हैं। हमें देश के हर एक सैनिक का सम्मान करना चाहिए और उन पर गर्व महसूस करना चाहिए।

सैनिक देश की सबसे बड़ी संपत्ति होते हैं। सैनिक देश के वो असली नायक है जो तन, मन और धन से देश की सेवा करते है। भारतीय सैनिक हमारे देश की शान है। पूरा देश उनका परिवार होता है और हर कीमत पर अपने देश के नागरिकों की रक्षा करते हैं। वे बहुत निस्वार्थी होते है, जो देश के हित को अपने निजी हित से ऊपर रखते हैं।

सैनिकों का मनोबल, साहस, धैर्य, बुद्धिमत्ता की क्षमता और मानसिक शक्ति आम नागरिकों से ज्यादा होती है। सैनिक ईमानदार, बहादुर और ताकतवर होते है। श्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री ने 1965 में पाकिस्तान के साथ युद्ध के दौरान “जय जवान, जय किसान” का नारा देकर सैनिकों के योगदान का सही सम्मान किया था।

सैनिक का महत्व

देश के लिए सैनिक एक प्रहरी का काम करता है। वो दिन-रात रात जगता है, तभी तो हम चैन की नींद सो पाते है। सैनिक के होते हुए दुश्मन हमारे देश के सामने आँख उठकर देखने की भी हिम्मत नहीं करता। सैनिक की वजह से ही देश में शांति और सुरक्षा बनी रहती है और देश विकास के पथ पर आगे बढ़ पाता है।

सैनिकों की वीरता और साहस के कारण ही हम अपने घरों में शांति से रहते है। वह अपनी मातृभूमि की रक्षा के लिए अपने जीवन के अंतिम क्षण तक लड़ते हैं। वह देश के लिए अपना सब कुछ कुर्बान कर देते है। वे हर समय पर सतर्क रहते हैं और देश की आपातकालीन स्थितियों में भी सहायता प्रदान करते हैं। उनके जीवन में किसी जाति-पाँती, धर्म, राज्य, भाषा की जगह नहीं होती। उनके लिए देश सबसे ऊपर होता है।

सैनिक का जीवन

एक सैनिक का जीवन वास्तव में कांटों का बिस्तर है। उनका जीवन निस्वार्थता और त्याग पर आधारित होता है। सैनिक को अपने जीवन में अनुशासन का सख्त पालन करना होता है। उसको अपने जीवन में कड़ी चुनौतियों और कठिनाइयों का सामना करना पड़ता है। चाहे तपता रेगिस्तान हो या बर्फीले पहाड़ देश की रक्षा के लिए वो कभी भी पीछे नहीं हटते।

सैनिक बनने से पहले उन्हें काफी कठिन प्रशिक्षण से गुजरना पड़ता है। उन्हें कठिन से कठिन परिस्थितियों में जीवित रहना सिखाया जाता है। अपने कर्तव्य का पालन करने के लिए सैनिक को भोजन, नींद और आराम का त्याग करना पड़ता है। एक सैनिक के जीवन का एकमात्र उद्देश्य देश को आंतरिक और बाहरी दुश्मनों से बचाना और देश के लिए लड़ना है।

सैनिक की चुनौतियां

एक सैनिक के जीवन में काफी चुनौतियां रहती है। वो देश परिवारों की रक्षा करने के लिए खुद अपने परिवार और प्रियजनों से मिलो दूर रहते है। कभी कभी त्यौहार या कोई पारिवारिक अवसर पर भी उन्हें छुट्टी भी नहीं मिलती। लड़ाई से लड़ने के लिए उन्हें कठोर प्रशिक्षण से गुजरना पड़ता है।

वे ज्यादातर जंगलों, पहाड़ों और ऐसी दुर्लभ जगह पर रहते है, जहाँ उसे उचित आपूर्ति और मूलभूत सुविधाओं का अभाव रहता है। मौसम की प्रतिकूलता उनके लिए एक बड़ी चुनौती  है। भारी बारिश, अत्यधिक ठंड और चिलचिलाती धूप में भी उन्हें रहना भी पड़ता है और लड़ना भी पड़ता है। लगातार युद्धों के दौरान सैनिक को युद्ध की सामग्री भी कम पड़ जाती है। बुलेट प्रूफ उपकरणों की कमी उनके लिए एक बड़ी चुनौती बन जाती है।

एक सैनिक से हमें अनुशासन, देशभक्ति, त्याग और निस्वार्थ सेवा जैसे गुण मिलते है। देश के हर सैनिक को हमें उचित सम्मान देना चाहिए  क्योंकि यह वह इंसान है, जो अपने खून से देश का भाग्य लिखता है। एक देश चैन की नींद तब सोता है, जब सैनिक अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन करता है। एक सैनिक की भूमिका सर्वोपरि और अद्वितीय होती है। वह राष्ट्र के लिए जीता है और उसकी गरिमा के लिए मरता है। वह इतिहास बनाता है और इतिहास उसे अमर करता है।

भारतीय सैन्य व्यवस्था विश्व की श्रेष्ठतम व्यवस्थाओं में से एक है जिसमें सीमित संसाधनों के द्वारा भी विजय प्राप्त करने की क्षमता विद्यमान है ऐसे अनेकों अवसर आये जब भारतीय सैनिकों ने अपनी जान की परवाह न करते हुए अपनी देशभक्ति का अदभुत परिचय दिया ।

धन्य है इस देश की वे माताएं जिन्होनें ऐसे वीर सपूतों को जन्म दिया । जिन्होने युवास्था में ही अपनी जिन्दगी देश के लिए न्यौछावर कर अपनी देश भक्ति की मिशाल पेश की । भारत चीन युद्ध हो या फिर भारत पाक युद्ध, कारगिल युद्ध हो या सीमा पार से छदम युद्ध ।

सभी में भारतीय सैनिकों ने बहादुरी की मिशाल पेश की । वो भी सीमित संसाधनों के द्वारा । जिससे भारतीय सेना को विश्व की श्रेष्ठतम सेना का दर्जा प्राप्त होता है । संसाधनों की यदि बात की जाये और यूरोप के देशों की सेना तो दूर पुलिस से भी भारतीय सेना के संसाधनों की तुलना की जाए तो हमारी जांबाज सेना के पास अत्याधुनिक संसाधनों का अभाव है ।

लेकिन संसाधनों के अभाव के बाद भी भारतीय सेना विश्व की किसी भी सेना से मुकाबला करने में श्रेष्ठ है जो केवल भारतीय सेना के अदभुत साहस के बल पर ही सम्भव है । यह सब सम्भव है उनके धैर्य पर भी जो अपने घर-परिवार से दूर देश की सीमा पर दिन-रात एक कर डटे हुए हैं और उफ तक नहीं करते ।

यह भारतीय सेना के अनुशासन की मिशाल है । इस देश के नीतिकारों को इस गम्भीर विषय पर विचार कर भारतीय सैनिकों की पीड़ा को समझना चाहिए कि घर-परिवार से दूर रहना कितना पीड़ादायक होता है । इस गम्भीर समस्या के समाधान हेतु कोई ठोस कदम उठाना चाहिए ताकि भारतीय सैनिकों को घर-परिवार से दूर रहने की पीड़ा न झेलनी पड़े । भारतीय सैनिक ही देश के सच्चे सेवक व देशभक्त हैं जो सैकड़ो कष्ट उठाकर इस देश को सुरक्षित रखते हैं ।

वे सुरक्षित रखते हैं इस देश के नीतिकारों को, वे सुरक्षित रखते हैं देश के मान-सम्मान को, वे सुरक्षित रखते हैं इस देश की मर्यादा को, वे सुरक्षित रखते हैं इस देश के नागरिकों को, वे सुरक्षित रखते हैं इस देश की युवा शक्ति को, वे सुरक्षित रखते हैं इस देश के बुद्धिजीवियों को, लेकिन उक्त सब लोग इसके बदले मे इस देश के सैनिकों को क्या देते हैं ।

कभी किसी ने विचार किया ही नही, ये सब लोग देश के सैनिक परिवारों तक को सुरक्षित नहीं रख पाते । एक तो वो सैनिक जो इस समस्त देश को सुरक्षित रखते हैं और दूसरी ओर वो समस्त नागरिक जो इस देश की सीमा के अन्दर रहते हुए उन सैनिक परिवारों को भी सुरक्षित नहीं रखपाते जिनके जाबाज बहादुर सम्पूर्ण देश को सुरक्षित रखते हैं । यह व्यवस्था की कमी कही जा सकती है या फिर नागरिकों की इच्छा शक्ति की ।

यहां भारतीय व्यवस्था तो दोषी है ही जो आजादी के तिरेसठ वर्ष बाद भी भारतीय सैनिकों के लिए विशेष सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करने में असमर्थ रही है । जो असमर्थ रही है उनको ऐसी व्यवस्था करने में कि भारतीय सैनिकों को देश की सीमा, सीमा नहीं अपना घर परिवार दिखायी दे ।

प्रत्येक सैनिक को सीमा पर भी परिवार रखने की व्यवस्था हो जब भारतीय सैन्य अफसर प्रत्येक जगह अपने परिवार के साथ रह सकते हैं । तो भारतीय सैनिक क्यों नही ? आधुनिकता के इस युग में जब तकनीकी अपने उच्चतम शिखर पर है तब भी भारतीय सैनिक उच्च तकनीकी को मोहताज हैं और केवल अपने धैर्य और साहस के दम पर ही अपना कर्त्तव्य निभा रहे हैं ।

अन्यथा भारतीय सेना की तस्वीर ही कुछ और होती, जिसके लिए दोषी है भारतीय व्यवस्था जो अपने रक्षकों को पर्याप्त तकनीकी सुविधाओं तक मुहैया नहीं करा पा रही है । इसके अलावा जो सुविधाएं भारतीय सैनिकों के परिवारों को मिलनी चाहिए जिससे उन सैनिक परिवारों को अपने आप को नागरिक परिवारों से अलग होने का एहसास हो सके ।

वे मूलभूत सुविधाएं भी सैनिक परिवारों को नसीब नहीं हो पा रही है जिसका परिणाम यह है कि वर्तमान समय में कुछ अपवादों को यदि छोड़ दिया जाए तो कोई भी युवा सेना में भर्ती होने में रूचि नहीं ले रहा है यही कारण है कि वर्तमान समय में सेना में हजारों अफसरों व लाखों सैनिकों की कमी चल रही है ।

जिसके पीछे निजी क्षेत्र की चकाचौंध भरी जिन्दगी, अच्छा वेतन पैकेज भी युवाओं को सेना में भर्ती होने से रोक रहा है । आधुनिकता की इस दौड़ में युवा देश प्रेम का पाठ भूलकर धन प्रेम का पाठ पढ़ रहे हैं । तभी तो युवाओं का झुकाव सेना में भर्ती होने में नहीं है ।

अगर यही स्थिति रही तो सेना में अफसरों व सैनिकों की भारी कमी होगी । जिसके लिए कुछ हद तक दोषी है भारतीय व्यवस्था जो सेना के प्रति युवाओं को आकर्षित करने में असफल रही है योग्य और प्रतिभाशाली युवाओं का झुकाव सेना के प्रति न होकर निजी क्षेत्र की चकाचौंध की ओर है एक तो आकर्षक वेतन पैकेज दूसरा भौतिक सुख सुविधाएं जो भारतीय युवाओं को सेना में जाने से रोक रही हैं ।

यदि भारतीय नीतिकार इस गम्भीर विषय पर चिंतन करें तो निश्चित ही उनको समस्या का समाधान मिल जायेगा । जब भारतीय युवाओं को सेना व निजी क्षेत्र की सुख सुविधाओं में कोई अन्तर दिखाई नही देगा और वे सेना के महत्व को समझेंगे ।

साथ ही भारतीय सैनिकों को समाज व देश में विशिष्ट दर्जा प्राप्त होगा तो निश्चित ही भारतीय युवाओं के दृष्टिकोण में बदलाव आयेगा और भारतीय युवाओं का भारतीय सेना में भर्ती के विषय में दृष्टिकोण में बदलाव ही भारतीय सेना के महत्व को और अधिक मजबूती प्रदान करेगा ।

भारतीय सेना विश्व की श्रेष्ठतम सेनाओं में से एक है और इस श्रेष्ठता को हमें बताने की आवश्यकता नहीं हैं क्योंकि जब-जब भारतीय सेना को अपनी श्रेष्ठता सिद्ध करने का अवसर मिला है उसने संसाधनों की कमी या आधुनिक हथियारों की कमी या वेतन की कमी का रोना रोये बिना अपनी श्रेष्ठता सिद्ध की, जो इस बात को प्रमाणित करती है कि भारतीय सेना विपरीत परिस्थतियों में भी जंग जीतने में सक्षम है ऐसे अनेकों अवसर आये है ।

जब भारतीय सेना ने अपने साहस और बहादुरी का परिचय देते हुए दुश्मन को धूल चटा दी चाहे कारगिल की पहाड़ियों पर अपनी मजबूत पकड़ बना चुके दुश्मन हों या फिर हमारे पवित्र धार्मिक स्थल पर कब्जा जमाये आतंकी हो, जिनको नेस्तानाबूत करने में भारतीय सेना ने अपने अदम्य साहस और बहादुरी का परिचय देकर सम्पूर्ण भारतवर्ष का सिर गर्व से ऊंचा कर दिया ।

भारतीय सैनिकों में जो देशभक्ति का जज़्बा देखने को मिलता है जो अनुशासन देखने को मिलता है वह शायद ही दुनिया के किसी देश की सेना में हो । भारतीय सैनिक जब सेना की वर्दी धारण करता है तो उसके अन्दर एक अलग तरह की भावना जागृत होती है जो कहती है कि जब तक यह वर्दी उसके शरीर पर रहेगी वह अपने देश के दुश्मनों को मिटाने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ेगा ।

इसके लिए चाहे उसे अपने प्राणों की बाजी भी लगानी पड़ेगी तो भी वह निसंकोच होकर अपने प्राणों की बाजी लगाने से पीछे नहीं हटेगा । यही प्राण-न्यौछावर करने का अपने देश के लिए भारतीय सैनिकों का जज़्बा है । भारतीय सेना की ताकत का हिस्सा है तभी तो हम निसंदेह होकर कहते हैं कि भारतीय सेना विश्व की श्रेष्ठतम सेनाओं में से एक है ।

भारतीय सैनिक बामुश्किल वर्ष में एक या दो महीने ही अपने परिवार के साथ बिताते हैं और बाकी के दस-ग्यारह महीने अपनी मातृभूमि की रक्षा के लिए व्यतीत करते हैं । शायद ही दुनिया की ऐसी कोई सेना हो जो इतना समय अपने परिवार से अलग व्यतीत कर सके ।

यदि भारतीय सैनिकों की अनुशासन की बात करें तो इसका कोई अपवाद भी आपको नहीं मिलेगा जब किसी भारतीय सैनिक ने अनुशासन हीनता की हो, यही सब गुण तो भारतीय सेना की श्रेष्ठता सिद्ध करते हैं तभी तो भारतवर्ष में रिटायर्ड सैनिकों की निजी श्रेत्र व दूसरे सरकारी विभागों में अत्यधिक माग है जो भारतीय सैनिकों की श्रेष्ठता के कारण ही है अन्यथा रिटायर्ड व्यक्ति को कोई भला क्यों पूछेगा ?

भारतीय सैनिक सम्पूर्ण भारतीय नागरिकों के लिए धैर्य साहस, बाहदुरी ओर ईमानदारी व अनुशासन प्रियता के लिए आदर्श माने जाते हैं । कोई भी व्यक्ति भारतीय सैनिकों की निष्ठा पर प्रश्नचिन्ह नहीं लगा सकता है । भारतीय सैन्य अफसरों के विषय में कुछ अपवादों को यदि छोड़ दिया जाये ।

जिनसे भारतीय सेना का मनोबल गिरता है जो कुछ अपवाद स्वरूप हैं जिनमें भारतीय सैन्य अफसरों ने अपनी मर्यादा लांघकर आदर्शों का उल्लंघन कर लालच के वशीभूत होकर भारतीय सेना को कलंकित किया । चाहे वो सुकना जमीना घेटाला हो या मुम्बई का आदर्श सेसाइटी घोटाला, जिसमें भारतीय सैन्य अधिकारियों के नाम आने से भारतीय सेना पर कलंक के दाग लगे हैं जो शायद ही जांच रिपोर्टो के सही आने पर भी धुल सके ।

क्योंकि भारतीय सेना वर्तमान समय तक बेदाग रही है लेकिन कुछ अवसर ऐसे आये जब भारतीय सैनिकों ने तो सेना वदेश का सिर गर्व से ऊंचा किया लेकिन भारतीय सैन्य अधिकारियों ने लालच के वशीभूत होकर भारतीय सेना ही नहीं इस देश को ही शर्मसार कर दिया । अन्यथा भारतीय सेना की छवि बेदाग रही है ।

जो दुनिया के दूसरे देशों के लिए एक उदाहरण रहा है कि भारतीय जो विभिन्न भावानाओं और विभिन्न संस्कृतियों का देश होते हुए जहां क्षेत्रियता का भी प्रभाव वहां की राजनीति में देखा जाता है उसके बाद भी आज तक भारतवर्ष एक अटूट देश के रूप में दुनिया के सामने है जबकि उसके पड़ोसी देशों में वहां की राजनीति में सेना का प्रभाव अधिक देखने को मिलता है ।

जब समय-समय पर वहां के सेनाध्यक्षों ने लोकतांत्रिक सरकारों को उखाड़ कर सैन्य शासन स्थापित किया है लेकिन भारतवर्ष एकमात्र ऐसा दुनिया का देश है जहा सबसे अनुशासित सेना मौजूद है । जिसका भारतीय राजनीति से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है अन्यथा पाकिस्तान, श्रीलंका, म्यांमार ऐसे देश है जहां सैन्य अफसर वहां की राजनीति को प्रभावित करते हैं और स्वयं देश की सत्ता पर काबिज होने की रणनीति बनाते रहते है । ऐसा नहीं है कि भारत में सैन्य अफसरों की राजनीतिक महत्वाकांक्षा नहीं है ।

भारतीय सैन्य अफसरों में भी राजनीतिक महत्वाकांक्षा है लेकिन भारतीय राजनीतिक परिस्थतियां उन सैन्य अफसरों के अनुकूल नहीं हैं जो सेना मे सेवा के दौरान राजनीतिक महत्वाकांक्षा रखते हैं । हां ऐसा अवश्य है कि भारतीय सैन्य अफसर सेना से सेवामुक्त होने के उपरान्त अपनी राजनीतिक महत्वाकांक्षा को पूरा करते हैं यही व्यवस्था भारतीय सेना को अनुशासित करने के लिए पर्याप्त है ।

तभी तो भारतीय सेना ने आज आजादी के तिरेसठ वर्ष बाद तक अपनी मांगों के लिए कोई उफ तक नहीं की । कितना वेतन उनकों मिलता है, कितनी सुविधाएं उनको मिलती हैं, किसी ने कोई जिक्र तक नहीं किया । क्योंकि भारतीय सैनिक सेना की वर्दी पहनते ही देशभक्ति की भावना से ओतप्रोत हो जाता है और उसके अन्दर यह भावना नहीं होती है कि उसको कितना पैसा मिलता है कितनी सुविधाएं मिलती हैं ।

वह तो केवल अपने देश के प्रति अपनी वफादरी का परिचय देते हुए एक अनुशासित सैनिक के रूप में कार्य करता है और जिसका लाभ उठाते हैं । भारतीय व्यवस्था के नीतिकार जो भारतीय सेना के अनुशासित होने का भरपूर लाभ उठाते हैं तभी तो भारतीय सैनिकों के आजादी के तिरेसठ वर्ष बाद भी ऐसी सुविधाएं मिल रही है जो आज से तिरेसठ वर्ष पहले मिलनी चाहिए थी । जिसके लिए दोषी है भारतीय व्यवस्था के नीतिकार जो केवल उन्हीं की ओर देखते हैं जिससे उन्हें या तो कुछ लेना होता है या फिर वो अपना अधिकार मांगते हैं जिससे मजबूरीवश उनको देना पडता है ।

क्योंकि भारतीय नीतिकार जानते हैं कि भारतीय सेना एक अनुशासित सेना है ओर आप उसको कुछ दे या न दे इससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता क्योंकि विरोध प्रकट करना भारतीय सेना के लिए अनुशासनहीनता की श्रेणी में आता है और इसी आदर्शता का लाभ भारतीय व्यवस्था के नीतिकार उठाते हैं तभी तो आज तिरेसठ वर्ष बाद भी भारतीय सैनिक उस तकनीकी सुख सुविधाओं व अन्य भौतिक सुख सुविधाओं से महरूम हैं जो आज से काफी समय पहले भारतीय सैनिकों को मिल जानी चाहिए थी ।

लेकिन दुर्भाग्य इस देश का और दोष भारतीय व्यवस्था के नीतिकारों का कि आज तक आधुनिक तकनीकी सुख सुविधाओं के अभाव में भी भारतीय सेना अपनी श्रेष्ठता सिद्ध किये हुए है जो इंगित करती है कि भारतीय सैनिक अब अभाव में श्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन करने में सक्षम है तभी तो अनेकों अवसरों पर भारतीय सेना ने अपनी श्रेष्ठता को बुलन्द किया है ।

यहां विचारणीय प्रश्न भारतीय व्यवस्था के नीतिकारों के लिए है कि आखिर कब तक भारतीय सैन्य व्यवस्था पुराने ढर्रे पर ही चलती रहेगी । जिसको सुधारने के लिए हमें गम्भीर रूप से चिंतन करना होगा कि किस प्रकार हम भारतीय सेना को दुनिया की आधुनिक सेना बनायें और निजी क्षेत्र की ओर हो रहे भारतीय युवा प्रतिभा पलायन को रोक कर भारतीय सैन्य क्षमता को और अधिक शक्तिशाली करें ताकि वक्त पड़ने पर हम दुनिया की श्रेष्ठतम सेना का दर्जा सिद्ध कर सके ।

अब वक्त आ गया है जब भारतीय व्यवस्था के नीतिकारों को भारतीय सेना के आधुनिकीकरण के विषय में गम्भीरता से विचार करना होगा तभी भारतीय सैनिकों का भला होगा और भारतीय सैनिकों का भला ही भारतीय सेना का भला होना सुनिश्चित करेगा ।

Indian Army Essay

Indian army needs no introduction. We all have love, respect and admiration for our soldiers and the Indian army as a whole. As we all know, Indian army has a long and glorious history. Therefore, it is difficult to talk about everything in such a limited space. Still I have tried to touch all the main points and also have tried to speak my heart out. I hope you will be able to appreciate my efforts and the essays.

Long and Short Essay on Indian Army in English

Whenever I think of Indian army (I also wanted to become a solider), I become happy. I feel, we are lucky to have such an institution of which we can really feel proud.

A common person knows very little about Indian Army because maximum of the things are classified. Still there is sufficient information in public domain.

In the following Indian Army essay, I have tried to put all that information here and also have given my view point. I hope following essay on Indian Army will be appreciated and liked by you.

Short Essay on Indian Army – Essay 1 (200 words)

Indian armed forces are divided into three parts – Indian army, Indian Airforce and the Indian Navy. Indian army is the land-based unit, while Indian Airforce deals in air defence and Indian Navy is the naval unit. Our Indian army is the second largest in the world with about 1.23 million personnel on active rolls and another 9.6 lakhs in reserves.

Indian army is mainly responsible to protect the country against land based attacks. It also lends a helping hand to other agencies in dealing with terrorism, tackling emergency situations in the country and also rescuing people in case of natural calamities like flood, earthquake etc.

The current chief of army staff (COAS) is General Bipin Rawat (as of 2018). As Indian army is very huge, it is divided into regiments. Some important regiments are Punjab regiment, Madras regiment, Rajputana rifles, Sikh regiment etc. It also has its own intelligence unit, known as “Military Intelligence” or “MI” in short.

Indian army before independence (under British rule) had participated in World War I and II. After independence it has also fought many full-fledged wars like the Kargil war (1999), Bangladesh liberation war (1971), India -Pakistan war (1965), India-China war (1962) and first Kashmir war (1947). Besides these, Indian army has also handled some smaller conflicts like Siachen conflict (1984), Operation Polo (1948), India-China conflict (1967) etc.

There is no doubt that our Indian army is one of the best armies in the world.

Essay on Importance of Indian Army – Essay 2 (300 words)

Introduction

Asking about the importance of Indian Army in India is like asking the importance of heart in a human body. It would not be wrong to say that there would be no India without Indian Army. It is the backbone of the country. It is also one of the few institutions left in the country which could be considered as completely neutral and reliable. If any thing goes really wrong in the country, we look at the army for solutions, be it riot control, counter insurgency, fighting terrorism, fighting Naxalites and even getting medals in international sporting events.

Importance of Indian Army

The main role of the Indian army is of course defending our country from external and internal threats. It has proven its mettle many times. After independence it has fought five major wars and has also handled many smaller conflicts successfully.  It has fought wars and won even when enemies had superior weapons.

For example, in 1965 Pakistan had Patton tanks (gifted to them by America). They were considered invincible at that time. India did not have anything that could match those Patton tanks. Still Indian army was able to defeat Pakistani tanks in the battle of Asal Uttar.

Havildar Abdul Hamid single handily destroyed six Pakistani tanks with his jeep mounted recoilless rifle and died trying to destroy the seventh. For this he was awarded with India’s highest military honour – the Param Vir Chakra.  It is believed that Americans came to India to know the method and equipment by which their invincible Patton tanks were destroyed. It is believed that India refused their request.

Indian army also had successfully handled many riots, for example Godhra riots, 1992 Mumbai riots, 1984 riots etc. It is currently also tackling terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir and in some north eastern states.

It’s also a very good employer. Currently it has about 1.23 million persons on active rolls while another 9.6 lakhs in reserves. It has also produced many notable sports persons who have brought laurels to our country. Some of them are Milkha Singh, Rajya Vardhan Rathore, Vijay Kumar, and Major Dhayan Chand etc.

Indian army is one of the best forces in the world. It has the ability to handle any external and internal threat. Overall, we can say that Indian Army is the soul of our country.

Essay on Indian Army Day – Essay 3 (400 words)

If you pick a person, randomly and ask him birthdays of film stars, politicians, sports persons etc. There is a good chance that he/she will be able to tell quite a few but if you him/her that, “when and why is Indian army day celebrated”? There is a good chance he/she will have no answer.

The problem is that, we have taken so many things for granted. One among them is freedom/security. We have taken for granted that someone is always deployed to guard our borders while we sleep in our cosy homes or there will be someone to take the bullets of the enemies and terrorists for us.

I think the occasions like Army day, Republic day etc are of course day’s celebration and jubilation but I think we must also introspect on these days. Why everyone wants to become a doctor, engineer, lawyer etc but very few of us wants to become soldiers.

As far as celebrations are concerned, Army day is celebrated formally in New Delhi at “Amar Jawan Jyoti”, India Gate every year on 15 th of January. The day was started celebrating from 1949 through various activities like Military Parade, cultural programs, etc. It is also celebrated at all army establishments. Some schools and social organisations also celebrate army day.

The day is celebrated to commemorate the appointment of our first army chief, Lieutenant general K.M. Cariappa. The story of his appointment is also very interesting. The story goes something like this – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was having a meeting with senior army personals and cabinet ministers. He suggested that the post of first army chief should be given to a British officer because Indian officers have no experience in handling such a post.

One of the army personnel present their, objected to this and said that, “as we also don’t have the experience of leading a nation, so we should appoint a British person as our first Prime Minister.” After hearing this, Nehru realised his mistake and asked the person that would he like to become the first army chief? On this he suggested the name of Lieutenant general K.M. Cariappa who was also present there and thus he became the first army chief.

It’s high time, we should mend our ways and start giving real respect to the soldiers otherwise a time may come when there will be no one to defend our motherland.

Essay on Army Life – Essay 4 (500 words)

I wondered as a kid, as to how is the life of a soldier. I assumed that it must be a bed of roses as opposed to mine which was like hell because I had to go to school, finish homework, learn answers, appear in tests and exams and had no time to play. On the other hand, I felt that a soldier just has to move around here and there in his smart green uniform with his gun. The problem is that, even many grownups also feel the same, not realizing how wrong they are. Maximum people think that its like a regular 9 to 5 job but this is far from reality.

I used to tell my dad that I would also like to become an army officer like him (he served in the Territorial Army as a junior commissioned officer). When asked, “why I wanted to become an army officer”? My reply was, “I would get a gun and a strong stick and with that I would beat up the bad guys”. On this my dad used to laugh loudly.

Now I realize how wrong I was.  The reality is that, it is one of the toughest working environments and definitely not a bed of roses. I got some idea of the work environment of the army from the media but I soon realized it was half-truth. The only way by which I could get the real information was by talking to the real “Faujis”. Luckily my dad and some of his friends (who also served in the army) were more than willing to share their stories.

He told me that their training days were quite tough because the new environment was quite different from the civilian environment which they were used to. In civilian life 6 o’clock reporting time means 6.15 or may be even 6.30 but in army 6.00am means exactly 6.00am. My dad and his colleagues got punished many times for coming late. The punishment was usually quite difficult. Normally it was running with full gear for miles or something like that.

After morning P.T, physical endurance training started and that continued for few hours. Instructors were normally considered villains by most of the trainees. Once my dad and his colleagues were denied water after a ten-mile run. Their reaction was as expected. They had jokingly wished to kill the instructor then.

There were theory classes after that. Evening time was play time. Cadets used to play all type of games including football, volleyball, basketball etc. Dinner was a formal affair.  They made so many friends there. Time passed like that and the training of my dad finished.

He got posted at many places but there was one posting which according to him was the toughest. For that he even got a gallantry medal.

My dad says that if you want a routine life then army is not for you but if you want to be pushed to your limit and want your life to be little adventurous then you must join army.

Long Essay on Role of Indian Army towards Country – Essay 5 (600 words)

There are very few institutions left in the country for which it can be said that country will cease to exist if these institutions fail. Indian army is one of them. Many institutions in the country which were supposed to remain neutral and impartial (let’s not name them) got corrupted but in all these years somehow Indian army has managed to remain neutral and impartial.

Role of Indian Army towards Country

All institutions of the country contribute towards nation building. It’s like the various organs of a body which perform in synchronization. It would not be wrong to say that Indian army is like the heart of a body. If it stops, the whole body (nation) stops. There are many roles which the army plays. Some of them are discussed below.

• Indian Army – an Uniting Force

We all know that Indian army is our first line of defence. It has defended us from many foreign attacks (5 major wars and few other minor conflicts). It is also helping other agencies in dealing with terrorism, insurgency, law and order, riots etc. Its professionalism and secularity remains unquestioned.

This is why it’s a unifying force. When our country got victory in Kargil war, the whole country (I mean every one, irrespective of caste, religion creed, sex) celebrated. The only other thing which has this kind of effect is cricket, I suppose. Indian army has persons from all religions. It does not discriminate on the basis of caste, religion, sect etc. This is why it’s a unifying force.

• Indian army – our “Mr. Dependable”

The tag of “Mr. dependable” cannot go to any other agency according to me.  This is because when every thing fails, Indian army does not. There are so many examples which can be quoted in support of this argument. Apart from its core duties, it is asked to perform many other duties for example riot control. When police and other agencies are unable to control the situation then Indian army is called and till date they have a 100% track record.  Some important riots which the army controlled were, Sikh riots, Mumbai riots, Godhra riots etc.

In natural calamities like flood and earthquakes, Indian army is called because other agencies lack the coordination and training which Indian army has. Even in sports, we depend on Indian army to bring medals in international sporting events like commonwealth games, Asian games, Olympics etc. Some of the best sportspersons like Milkha Singh, Rajya Vardhan Rathore, Vijay Kumar, Dhyan Chand, Jitu Rai, Ram Singh Yadav are from army background.

• Indian Army – a Good and Large Employer

It is said that, lucky are those who get selected for Indian army.  It is now-a-days considered a very good employer because of the salary and perks which it gives. It is one of the largest employment providers in the country.

• Indian Army – Producer of Honest and Dedicated Persons

My dad used to say this thing and I strongly agree with it. He said, “dear, what you learn in army training is definitely useful in army career and also remains very useful in civilian life”. There are so many persons in civilian life who are doing very good because they had served in the army or had military training at some point of time.  What is taught in a military school is not taught anywhere else.

In the end I would like to say that we are lucky to have an institution like Indian army at our disposal, without which we could never have survived. Long live India and long live Indian army…Jai hind.

The Indian Army was formed in 1895 by The East India Company. It was earlier called the British India Army, and after independence, on January 26’ 19501950, it was renamed as the Indian Army. The Supreme Commander of the Indian Army is the President of India, and a four-star general is appointed as the Chief of the Army Staff. President Draupadi Murmu is the current Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and General Manoj Pande is the current Chief of Army Staff. With 1,237,117 soldiers and 960,000 reserve troops, it is the largest standing army in the world in terms of numerical superiority.

The Indian Army conducts drills and operations throughout the year, and some of its operations are also conducted in partnership with other nations. The Kargil war, the Indo-Sino war of 1962, and the 1967 Sino-Indian conflict were conflicts where the prowess of the Indian Army was seen in repelling the attacks and safeguarding our borders. This helped to establish India as a dominant force in Southeast Asia, courtesy of the Indian Armed Forces. The Army, along with the Navy and the Airforce, have relentlessly helped maintain peace and prosperity in India, which has contributed to India being a great economic and military power.

The East India Company formed a military department to protect its territories in 1776. Initially, it was composed of British officers commanding soldiers recruited locally in India. The Indian Army, as it is known today, came into existence on 26 January 1950. Here are a few points to note about the Indian Army.

Enrolment in the Indian Army is voluntary, and unlike other countries, it has never been imposed forcefully.

Due to its large size, the Indian army is divided into various regiments like the Sikh regiment, the Maratha regiment, and the Gurkha regiment. This was done to manage and deploy the army easily in terms of conflict. Its motto is “Service Before Self”. There are six operational commands and one training command.

Its headquarters are in New Delhi. Currently Smt. Draupadi Murmu is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and General Manoj Pande is the current Chief of Army Staff. We celebrate Army day on January 15 every year.

The Indian army also conducts peace-keeping operations for the United Nations and other countries abroad. We have the largest standing army in the world in terms of numerical superiority.

Drills And Operations

The Indian Army conducts drills and operations throughout the year, and some of its operations are also conducted in partnership with other nations. The most prominent drill of the Indian Army was Operation Brasstacks, conducted from November 1986 to January 1987 near the Pakistan border.

Indo- Pakistan War (1947) | The first major operation conducted by the Indian Army was the Indo- Pakistan war of 1947 which erupted due to tensions between India and Pakistan over the accession of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then Indian Army has been instrumental in neutralising terror groups and maintaining peace with the country.

India at the time of partition had more than 500 princely states, and of these princely states, Hyderabad and Jammu- Kashmir was reluctant to join India. The Maharaja of Jammu Kashmir finally acceded to the Union of India, and the Indian Army was called in for assistance against the Pakistani army intrusion in Jammu and Kashmir.

Accession Of Hyderabad | The Nizam of Hyderabad wanted to remain independent and was against joining the Union of India. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel negotiated the accession of Hyderabad to India after an invasion by the Indian Army named Operation Polo.

जब भी भारतीय नौसेना का नाम लिया जाता हैं तो दुश्मन में सिहरन उत्पन्न हो जाया करती हैं. अपने इतिहास के उदाहरणों से इसनें न केवल भारत के गौरव को बढ़ाया हैं. बल्कि जन जन में सुरक्षा व विश्वास के भाव को जन्म दिया हैं.

4 दिसम्बर को हर साल इंडियन नेवी डे अर्थात भारतीय नौसेना दिवस मनाया जाता हैं. यह नेवी के स्वर्णिम इतिहास की महत्वपूर्ण तिथि थी. जब बांग्लादेश निर्माण युद्ध 1971 में भारतीय नौसेना ने 4 दिसम्बर के दिन ओपरेशन ट्राईडेंट आरम्भ किया था.

इस सैन्य अभियान ने पाकिस्तान के कराची शहर के नौसेना ठिकानों एवं सैन्य सामग्री को ध्वस्त कर युद्ध को निर्णायक भूमिका में ला दिया था. 3 दिसम्बर की रात पाकिस्तानी वायुसेना ने भारत के कई एयरपोर्ट पर बमबारी की, पाकिस्तान के इस कृत्य पर जवाबी कार्यवाही का बीड़ा भारतीय नौसेना ने उठाया.

4 दिसम्बर की रात को यह अभियान चलाया गया. पाकिस्तानी नेवी के पास उस समय रात में समुद्री जंग लड़ने का कोई हथियार नहीं था. अतः नौ सेना ने कराची मुख्यालय को अपना केंद्र चुना.

एक मिसाइल नाव तथा दो युद्ध पोत की एक टुकड़ी ने कराची पोत पर धावा बोला, पहला आक्रमण एंटी शिप मिसाईल दागकर किया जिसमें पाकिस्तानी नेवी के अधिकतर जहाज और ऑयल के टैंकर तबाह हो गये थे.

कराची हार्बल ऑयल भंडार पर किया गया आक्रमण इतना प्रबल था कि पाकिस्तानी नौसेना ने हार स्वीकार कर ली. 50 किमी दूरी से यहाँ खड़े ऑयल टैंकरों में लगी आग के गुब्बार को देखा जा सकता हैं. अगले सात दिनों तक यह ऑयल डिपो यू ही जलता रहा.

रॉयल नेवी में मुंबई में खाने तथा नस्लीय भेद को लेकर शुरू हुई हड़ताल ने एक विद्रोह का स्वरूप ले लिया. 18 फरवरी 1946 को शुरू हुई विद्रोह की चिंगारी कराची, कोलकाता के सभी समुद्री नाविकों तक पहुँच गई.

इस विद्रोह में 200 ठिकानों के 20 हजार नाविकों ने 78 जलयानों के साथ भाग लिया था. विद्रोह का प्रस्फुटन आई एन एस तलवार जलपोत से शुरू हुआ था.
