Cement being an important medium for construction, its demand is highly correlated with the overall performance of a country and the state of literacy rate. So, a study on cement industry is quite inevitable. Studies on working capital management acquire great significance in the context of growth in the developing economies. When working capital is invested appropriately, it leads to better financial performance. Therefore, the study of working capital management is considered an important job of an industry. Evidently, the present study on working capital management of the select cement industry would be of much interest, as it will bring out how effectively the working capital is employed. It also helps to identify those variables that are responsible for better management of working capital of the cement industry. The study has aimed at measures the Liquidity analysis of the selected cement companies in India. The study has used stratified sampling techniques and two companies were selected. The data were collected from the respective companies annul financial statement during from 2005-06 to 2014-15. Several tools were developed to diagnose the financial strength of the company based on the Financial Statements. The selected cement companies face the problems such as inadequate short-term liquidity, improper utilization of working capital, inefficiency of cash management, delay in payables, and poor profitability. The researcher has suggested suitable measures to improve the efficiency of the working capital management of the select cement companies.

This research work is on “The effect of Working Capital ratio on the Profitability” The main purpose of this research work is to test the impact of working capital management on profitability. For this purpose, in this paper we use variable of Gross profit ratio to measure the profitability of company and variables of account receivable turnover, creditors turnover, inventory turnover and current ratio as working capital management criteria. The sample of study includes some Indian cement companies. The results of the research show that there is a significant impact of the working capital management on profitability of company. Therefore, managers may enhance the profitability of their firms by minimizing the inventory turnover, account receivables ratio and by decreasing creditors turnover ratios but there is no significant effect of increasing or decreasing the current ratio on profitability.

The present study is envisaged to observe the financial performance of the Indian steel industry during the post recession period. It examines the financial performance of the industry in terms of different ratios selected from different aspects. 16 companies constitute the sample of the study for a period of 6 years since 2010-11 to 2015-16. Further it also investigates the relation between profitability and other financial metrics like liquidity, solvency and activity ratios. Factor analysis and multiple regression analysis are applied in the present study to facilitate the data analysis. Factor analysis is used in the study to explore the structure in the relationship of the financial variables under the study. Multiple regression analysis is used to examine the impact of liquidity factor on the profitability and it also helps to explore the linear relationship between liquidity and profitability. It has been found that liquidity has an immense positive impact on the profitability implying that when the companies are maintaining moderate amount of liquidity it helps to accelerate the profitability. Too much investment of liquid assets in the business may not give the high return due to volatility in world steel market during the post recession period.

The automobile industry in India occupies a vital role in the economic progress of the nation. The reputation of any industry depends on its liquid position, which helps a company in settling their dues in time. Liquidity denotes to the firm's capacity to pay their outstanding dues. The article considers liquidity position of automobile industry by employing correlation and regression test. The data required for the study is secondary in nature. The required data are collected from Capitaline database for the period ranging between 2008 and 2017. The collected data is analyzed by making use of correlation and regression. The result reveals that liquidity position of a company depends on age, inventory turnover ratio, dividend payout ratio and leverage.

The automobile industry has emerged as sunrise sector in the Indian economy. It embarked a new journey in 1991 with de-licensing of the sector and subsequently opening up for 100% FDI through the automatic route. The industry produced a total 25,316,044 vehicles including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, three wheelers, two wheelers and quadricycle in April-March 2017 as against 24,016,599 in April-March 2016, registering a growth of 5.41 percent over the same period last year. Therefore, automobile companies have been selected for this study in order to determine their profitability during the study period. A firm's Profitability is determined by leverage, size, age, working capital, assets turnover ratio etc. Data required for the study is Secondary in nature. The secondary data have been collected from the Capitaline database from 2008-2017 for the select Motor Cycle companies. The collected data is analyzed by making use of correlation and Multiple Regression. The result reveals hat there exist relationship between age, expenses to income ratio and assets turnover ratio on profitability.

In depth analysis tells that most in case research work is observed and focused mainly on two aspects, working capital on profitability of firm and working capital management.The chief issues with previous literature are lack of survey-based approach and lack of methodical theory advance study, which gives direction and idea for future research. The proposed future research direction is given in this paper may help to develop a better understanding of determinants and practices of working capital management.
