Essay on Kabaddi

The craze for kabaddi rocketed up in the last few years everywhere as the Pro Kabaddi League started and people got teams of their state. The game of Kabaddi involves two teams who defend themselves from a raider from the opposite team. The game has now risen to international recognition. Here are some sample essays on kabaddi.

Essay on Kabaddi

100 Words Essay on Kabaddi

Kabaddi is a game of two different teams, each team containing seven players. One player is known as a"raider”, and raids into other teams' half courts and tries to touch as many players as they can while continuously chanting "kabaddi” in a single breath.

Kabaddi is one of the most famous sports in the Indian subcontinent and other neighbouring countries with different regional names. Kabaddi has two different variations, namely “standard style” and “circle style”.

Kabaddi is the national sport of Bangladesh. It is the state game of different states in India like Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Odisha. It is a highly regarded game in Nepal, taught and played in primary schools. It is also the country’s national sport.

200 Words Essay on Kabaddi

Kabaddi is a contact team sport. There are two teams of seven players each, who defend their courts from an offending player, trying to touch as many of the defending players as possible in a single breath. The raider team gets a point for every player their player touches from the opposite team and thereby eliminates them from the game. The defending team gets a point for the successful capture of a raider. Players are taken back into the game for each point scored by the team. This cycle of defending and raiding continues till there's no one left in a team.

Different Names Of Kabaddi | Kabaddi has different names in various regions. It is known as “hu-tu-tu” in the western region, “hu-do-do” in the eastern region, and “chadakudu” in the southern region of the Indian subcontinent. It is known as “ha-du-du” in Bangladesh and “kapardi” in Nepal.

Styles Of Kabaddi | Kabaddi has two different styles of playing depending on the shape of the ground. "Circle Style”, also known as "Punjabi Kabaddi” is a traditional form of Kabaddi played on a circle-shaped ground, and is most famous in rural areas of Punjab, that is, where it originated from. “Standard Style” is played in a rectangular-shaped court, and is widely played including that in various national and international competitions, such as the Asian games.

500 Words Essay on Kabaddi

The origin of Kabaddi goes back to ancient India. It is mentioned in the Sangam literature that Sadugudu (older name for Kabaddi) was practised for ages and was used as a warm-up sport before playing Jallikattu. Another form of this sport originated in Tamil Nadu 4,000 years ago.

Kabaddi was famous among the Yadava people. An Abhang by Tukaram states that Lord Krishna used to play Kabaddi in his childhood.

Kabaddi As A Competitive Sport | India first popularised Kabaddi as a competitive sport, with the first competitions organised in the late 1920s. The All India Kabaddi Federation was formed in 1950. Kabaddi was played as a demonstration sport during the first Asian games in 1951 in Delhi, and made a part of Asian games in 1990.

Rules of Kabaddi

There are different variations of Kabaddi but the basic rules of scoring a point, number of players, and declaring someone out are mostly the same. Let's take a look at the basic rules of Kabaddi.

Each team consists of 12 players from which only 7 players will be on the court at a time and others will be substitutes.

Matches are categorised according to the age and weight of players because of the physical nature of this contact sport.

Each game is played in two halves of 20 minutes with a 5-minute break at halftime.

A raider gets a point for every player of the other team he touches in a single breath. The defending team gets a point for the successful capture of a raider.

Players that are declared ‘out’ while raiding or defending can be taken in with each point scored.

Each team takes turns raiding and defending. The courts are switched after the halftime break.

The game in the same manner continues till the time up. The team that scores the maximum points is declared winner.

Coming of The Pro Kabaddi League

In a country dominated by cricket, the beginning of the Pro-Kabaddi League in 2014 glamorised the sport of Kabaddi in India, and it became the second most–watched sport event after the Indian Premier League. It helped many players from rural India to show their talent at the game at the national and international levels. Kabaddi getting recognised at a bigger level has fetched livelihood and a means of sustenance for many of those skilled at the game.

When I was in school, we used to play Kabaddi just as a pastime and because our seniors usually kept the cricket bat and ball with themselves. Unlike for other sports like cricket, football, and basketball, there weren't many competitions organised for Kabaddi despite there being some talented players around. However, with the beginning of the Pro-Kabaddi League, things have changed. My peers from school who have been good at Kabaddi right from school days are now playing in various tournaments organised by universities and state federations.

Good performance in Kabaddi is even fetching scholarships to these students. Now, I am in college in the capital of my state, and the players who played kabaddi with me in school are playing in various tournaments held by universities and state federations. Some players are even getting scholarships based on the amazing skills that they achieved playing kabaddi during school just to pass time.

500 Words Essay on Kabaddi

Introduction to kabaddi.

Kabaddi is an exciting sport played mainly in Asia. The game is simple yet full of energy and requires both skill and power. It is played on a rectangular field, and the main goal is for a single player, known as a “raider,” to run into the opposing team’s half, tag out as many of their players as possible, and return to their own half, all in one breath.

The Basics of Kabaddi

A Kabaddi match involves two teams, each with seven players. The teams take turns sending a raider into the other half. To win points, the raider must touch opponents and make it back to their side without being tackled. However, if the raider is tackled, the other team earns a point. Raiders need to chant “Kabaddi, Kabaddi” without stopping to show that they are not taking another breath. This makes the game unique and challenging.

The Field and Equipment

The Kabaddi field is small, about half the size of a basketball court. There is no need for any special equipment to play Kabaddi, making it a game that is easy to start playing. Players often play barefoot and require no more than comfortable clothes. The simplicity of the game means that anyone can play it anywhere, from a schoolyard to a sandy beach.

Skills Required

Kabaddi players need a mix of skills. They must be quick, strong, and smart. Speed helps raiders dodge defenders, while strength helps them escape tackles. Intelligence is crucial as players must decide the best strategy to outwit the other team. Teamwork is also essential because the seven players must work together to defend their side or help their raider score points.

Popularity and Growth

Kabaddi is most popular in India, Bangladesh, and Iran, but it is growing in other parts of the world too. International competitions like the Kabaddi World Cup have helped spread interest in the game. In India, the Pro Kabaddi League has turned the traditional game into a modern sports spectacle, with many fans following their favorite teams and players.

Health Benefits

Playing Kabaddi is good for health. It improves strength, agility, and stamina. The game also teaches breath control and helps increase concentration. Because it involves a lot of running and physical activity, it is an excellent way for children to stay active and healthy.

An Essay on My Hobby is Playing Kabaddi [PDF]

Today in this essay presentation, we are going show you the example essay on my hobby is playing Kabaddi.

kabaddi feature image

I love athletics. For me playing sports is fun and exhilarating. I enjoy the social aspect, the competition, and the skills it takes to play just about any game or team sport. My body has become a fine-tuned machine because of the skills I have developed.

Out of all the sports, there are, I enjoy Kabaddi the most. I grew up playing it and despite any disagreements the game never gets old. It is fun to try to tag the other players and run up the score.

One aspect I like is that it is a simple game to play. There are no balls to learn how to dribble or bounce. There is no special equipment outside of the team uniform and there are no walls or other obstacles that you can run into and hurt yourself.

Kabaddi is pure clean fun that allows me to spend time with my friends staying healthy and enjoying the fresh air if we play outside. The lack of equipment means that we have to use our minds, create a great strategy and be able to move fast in order to win the game. Those aspects really appeal to me.

In some ways, Kabaddi is like chess. You use your mind, create strategies and try to move out of danger as fast as you can in chess as well. Outwitting my opponents is far more attractive than trying to beat them physically like basketball or other physical athletic sports.

Of course, the women get the smaller playing field but I do not mind. The extra space to run allows me to stay in top shape and remain healthy. Another aspect I like is that a lot of my friends can play at the same time.

With 7 players on the field, very few are left out of the fun and the action. Of course, some versions have only 4 players but that is still large enough for everyone to enjoy themselves and play hard.

The one difficulty I always have trouble with is holding my breath and shouting all the time I am running. It is a challenge and training to get that right is not always fun. It is hard to say how many points I have cost my team because I just can’t get that requirement right.

Kabaddi is my hobby and there is a good reason for it being that way. I do not think I am good enough to play the game professionally. I would like to but my talents are not fully developed where I can match wits and stamina with those who have played professionally for years.

It would be exciting to have thousands of people cheering for me to get that winning point without sacrificing any. As it stands we have about 20 people cheering us on when we play on the weekends.

That may not be exciting or a large crowd but at least we get to entertain a few friends who can’t play and help them have a great time during the match. Usually, it is just our girlfriends who show up and cheer us on.

For me, that is enough and I am content with making her proud. I may not be a great player but in her eyes, I am a hero and that helps motivate me to practice hard and get better at the game.

Even when we lose she is there to help cheer me and make me feel better. That is one of the best reasons for playing Kabaddi. Having thereafter we finish means the world to me.

The simplicity of Kabaddi does not mean it is a bad sport to pay. Instead, that makes the game more fun as there are not a lot of tricks to master or equipment to fail. It is hard to imagine a better sport to play than this one.

How was the essay on Kabaddi? I hope you like it if so let me know in the comment section.

How Kabaddi is Played?

Kabaddi is played between two teams and each team has 7 players. The matches are based on body weight and age. A straight line is drawn in the middle of the field between two teams.

This line is called ‘pala’. The team who wins the toss gets to play first. When the referee whistles then the game begins. A player goes to other side after crossing the pala and says ‘kabaddi-kabaddi’.

After this, he tries to touch the player of opposite side. The players of other team try to escape and capture him in the court.

If the opposite team captures him then he is declared ‘dead’ but if he succeeds and returns to his own side successfully then the team scores a point and the player who has been touched is declared dead. This dead player is then considered out and he does not participate in the game.

Sometimes, the defenders hold their hands to form a chain when the opponent comes to touch a player. This technique is used to confuse and distract the opponent player. The time duration of this game is 40 minutes and divided into two halves of 20 minutes with a 5 minutes interval between these halves.

There are six officials which supervise the match including a referee, two umpires, one scorer and two assistant scorers to finalize scores. The team with highest scores wins in the end.

History of Kabaddi

The game has been played in a lot of ways since prehistoric times. Since 1930, the modern Kabaddi game has been played in India and certain other regions of South Asia. In Maharashtra in the year 1921, for Kabaddi competitions on the combined pattern of Sanjeevani and Gemini, the earliest framework of the game's regulations is believed to have been created. After that, a committee established in 1923 revised all the norms created in 1921. The All India Kabaddi Tournament , held in 1923, used these revised regulations.

The All India Kabaddi Federation was established in 1950 to handle the game's promotion, and the Senior National Championship debuted in 1952. The new organisation, the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), 1972 was founded and is associated with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Origin Of Kabaddi

Kabaddi originated over 4,000 years ago in the Southern part of India- Tamil Nadu. The game is said to have originated in the Vedic era. Essentially Kabaddi is played to showcase the strength of participants. The game found acceptance because people realised a certain amount of wit was needed to play and win the game. Research shows that the game was played during the Gautam Buddha period. All India Kabaddi Federation was founded in 1950. The game was a part of the Beijing Asian Games in 1990 and has since gained international prominence. The Pro Kabaddi League is now a famous league for Kabaddi players and hosts many tournaments.

Rule Of Playing Kabaddi

The game of Kabaddi is played between two teams. Each team has seven players. The match is based on the body weight and age of the players. A straight line is drawn in the middle of the court to separate the two teams. The line is called “pala”. The team winning the toss gets to play first. When the referee or umpire blows the whistle, the games begin. A player goes to the other side crossing the pala, and continuously chants “kabaddi-kabaddi”. Post this; he tries to touch a player from the opposite side. The players must try to escape or capture him and keep him in their court. If the opponent team succeeds in capturing him, the player is declared “dead”. However, if the player is successful and returns to his side, his team scores a point, and the player he has touched from the opponent team is declared “dead”. The dead players have to step outside the game and cannot participate in the game anymore. The defending team players can hold their hands like a chain to catch the opponent. The game of Kabaddi lasts for 40 minutes and is divided into sessions of 20 minutes each. There is a five-minute break in between the two halves. The team with the highest score wins the game.

Kabaddi: an Outdoor Game with Indian Origin

Other than watching TV shows or engaging in video games, humans can engage in outdoor games and events to have a good time with their family, friends, or associates. Dyck believes, “Outdoor games are usually preferred than other sources of entertainment because they involve physical and mental activities necessary for healthy living” (Dyck 23). A number of outdoor games that individuals can engage in are available. Some of these games are easy to undertake and require no commitment or any arrangement. Kabaddi is one of the games that require no commitment, special tools, distinct place, or specific season.

The origins of Kabaddi can be traced back to medieval India. Over time, the game has been played in Indian Vedic schools. Although differences have arisen and instructions have been framed, the game’s primary objective has endured. Unlike other games, Kabaddi is a very cost-effective game. It can be played at any place. It does not require large court areas as exhibited by other outdoor games like cricket and football. An appropriate portion of land is all that is needed to play the game. The land can be a green field, a beach, or a sandy desert. The land selected for the game influences the nature of the game. As such, the harder it is to move on the land selected, the more challenging the game. As indicated above, no special tools or gadgets are required during the game.

Any individual, regardless of his or her sex, religion, social class, racial, or ethnic background, can play the game. The game’s standard field measurements are 125m 2 . The required length of the field should be 12.5m. The width of the field is 10m. The field is divided into two halves. Each of the two halves will be occupied by opposing teams. The surface of the field is usually dugout for a minimum of 1 foot deep. The dugout part is filled with mud. Currently, the game has been played in a court made of synthetic turf. By doing so, the safety of the players is enhanced.

The team is usually made up of 14 active players. Seven members of each team are positioned on the opposite halves. Each of the teams has five supplementary members. While the game is in session, the captain is the only individual allowed to converse with the team members. The players can utilize kinesics to interpret the intentions of other players. The play’s session is divided into two halves. Each half lasts for 20 minutes. A halftime break of 5 minutes is allowed between the games. Women or children’s match comprises two sessions, each lasting 15 minutes. At the end of the first half, the teams are given a five-minute break.

When the game is in session, teams initiate chances by sending a raider to the rival’s ground. Raiders are required to tag players of the rival team prior to returning to their home ground. A player who is tagged is eliminated from the game. In this respect, members from the same team must defend themselves from being tagged by the rival team. As such, defenders form a restraint by joining hands. If the restraint is broken, one of the defenders is eliminated. The major objective of the defenders is to thwart the raider from returning to their ground prior to taking a breath. If the attacker takes a breath prior to moving back to their court, he or she is eliminated from the game.

While the game is in session, only one raider is allowed to invade the rival team’s court. When two or more raiders invade the rival team’s court, a point is rewarded to the rival team. Once a raider has returned to their court or is eliminated by the rival team, the rival team is expected to send their raider in 5 Seconds. Accordingly, each team is expected to send their raider up until the session expires. Whenever the raider misses initiating a raid in 5 seconds, the opposing team is rewarded with a point.

Players are not permitted to hold the raiders’ bodies intentionally other than their limbs or trunks. Any player who violates this rule is eliminated from the game. Players can also be eliminated when they cross over borderlines or when their bodies are exposed to the ground outer the borderline. The above rule is only exempted when a player is tussling with the rival team member. When a member of the team is eliminated, the rival team gets the point. A team earns two points, whenever the whole members of the rival team are eliminated. The team with the highest points at the end of the game is pronounced a winner. When a tie is experienced, two extra plays are added. Each play lasts for five minutes. If the tie persists, the team that scored first will be announced the winner.

Based on the way the game is played, it is apparent that there are certain roles in life, personalities, or social relationships that prepare one for the practice. As such, the game requires individuals who are disciplined, keen, and upheld coordination. An individual who exhibits the above attributes will be perfectly fit to be a player in the above game. Equally, social relationships that emphasize coordination, teamwork, and disciple can also rehearse an individual for the practice.

By being involved or watching the game, the children can learn explicit techniques of how to relate to the world, to the surroundings, to living things, or to other individuals. With respect to the above, four lessons can be learned by children who engage in Kabaddi. 1. Through the game, children will learn about the importance of teamwork. Like many other sports, teamwork is very vital while playing Kabaddi. It takes a coordinated effort from the team members to outscore the rival team. Similarly, for kids to be successful in whatever they are doing, they must rely on the efforts of their friends, teachers, and parents.

Similarly, through the game, the children can learn to be constantly over-prepared. Kabaddi players usually spend days to be prepared physically and emotionally for the game. Notably, the preparation is not only meant at winning the game but also maintain healthy lives. Therefore, children can learn to be always prepared for their school assessment or to tackle other life challenges. The game also teaches children to be humble. Usually, the best players in Kabaddi are individuals with the utmost humility. Therefore, the game will teach children to be humble in their daily lives to accomplish their initiatives.

The game also teaches children not to give up in their endeavors. Although most Kabaddi games last for almost forty minutes, the winning points are normally scored towards the end of the game. Thus, the game encourages children to believe in their dreams, no matter the time it takes to achieve. John Berger suggests, “Every extraordinary work was the outcome of a lengthy positive struggle” ( Ways of Seeing ). Children should note that through their struggles, their dreams would eventually become realities.

During the play, children may think or imagine about pleasing their supporters. Usually, professional players engage in a game with the objective of winning. As such, they are not interested in how supporters perceive them. In this regard, children should be taught to concentrate on winning the game rather than on the supporters’ views. If they accomplish to do this unfailingly, they will win positive recommendations from the supporters. The above engram will become a portion of their everyday perception.

Kabaddi can reveal more about the culture, history, or attributes of those who play and support the game. Given that the game originated in India, its analysis will illustrate an essential part of ancient Indian culture. Kabaddi emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and coordination. The above attributes illustrate the elements of the pioneers of Kabaddi. Similarly, the game illustrates that cultural and communal strengthening events were an important part of the society that founded Kabaddi.

In conclusion, it should be noted that Kabaddi games are easy to undertake and require no commitment or any arrangement. As such, Kabaddi is a very cost-effective game. It can be played at any place. It does not require large court areas as exhibited by other outdoor games like cricket and football. Notably, any individual, regardless of his or her sex, religion, social class, racial, or ethnic backgrounds, can play the game. By being involved or watching the game, the children can learn explicit techniques of how to relate to the world, to the surroundings, to living things, or to other individuals.

Method of Playing Kabaddi

Kabaddi is an outdoor game played on a big field or school grounds, which requires great stamina and strength. The game does not require any equipment, but it is played in two teams with 7 players each. Each of the teams stands at both ends of the court, and several rounds are played between them within a time frame. One player from the team enters the court of the other team and tries to touch the players, thus making them out of the round. Let us further see what happens in the game through this essay on my favourite game Kabaddi in English.

The fun of the game is that the player must chant the words ‘kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi’, continuously in a single breath, and the opposing players must try to catch them, without being touched by the player. If the player manages to reach their court without stopping their chanting, then that team wins the round, and all the players from the opposing team who touched them would be out.

On the other hand, if the team catches the player before they reach their court, and they run short of their breath, then that team wins, and the player becomes out. The game resumes with the remaining players, and points are added to each team for each win. And the team with the highest score wins the competition.

Paragraph On Kabadi | Rules, Importance, And Benefits of Playing Kabadi Game

Introduction paragraph.

Kabadi is a game by Kabaddi. Kabadi is famous in India and Pakistan. It is played on the basis of catching players trying to run across the line. The game is very fast-paced, so there is no time to relax between games! The sport requires intense physical activity, mental focus, excellent communication skills, and teamwork to be successful at kabaddi.

Supporting Paragraph

It all starts with a player chanting loudly “kabaddi Kabadi” while running across half of the opposing team’s pitch / field / pitch (this may vary based on personal preference or region). This player, known as a raider, will attempt to tag players on the other side before returning over their own sideline / border. If he does this and no one on the other team catches him before he comes back over his sideline, the players he marked will be out.

The raider can now roam freely and tag as many people as possible before being caught by someone from the other side who has also crossed into his half. If a raider is caught, they must either stop where they are and remain standing or retreat behind the line in the center of the field (this rule varies by region). Players marked but not caught can continue to play until all remaining players cross each other’s lines (on either side), at which point all those marked and not caught are eliminated.

As soon as everyone is on the same team, it is the turn of the team that still has people in the game (people who can still play) as the raid team. The game will continue until all players on both teams have been eliminated.

The goal of Kabadi is very similar to that of American football: you are not really there to use teamwork with your opponent, only against him! The best way to win most sports games is to overwhelm your opponent with your own strengths – this is true most of the time in Kabaddi, but it’s also important that you work together too so that nobody misses an opportunity for a day

This makes kabadi a great sport for friends and family members to play at gatherings and other such gatherings. The game is easy to learn, fun for all ages, and can be played pretty much anywhere!

Kaabadi is a very famous kabaddi sport. It takes speed and perseverance to run quickly across the court and tag opponents before they return to their side of the court. This game takes a lot of practice, but is extremely fun and can be played with many different people at the same time! You can also consider learning about kabaddi if you are interested in wrestling or martial arts as this game will improve your physical skills and teach you self defense techniques. Otherwise go ahead and play Kabadi!

Kabaddi is an Indian contact sport that has become very popular all over the world. It’s a mix of day and wrestling, but instead of marking with their hands, the kabaddi players mark themselves with their feet. Each team consists of seven players, and each team defends its goal line while trying to attack the other team’s backline. Control of the Tig area is done by standing in that area until the person who was tagged returns to their side of the field. The raider receives one point for each opponent he marks if he succeeds in crossing his own goal line again or crossing it after being marked.

Kabadi requires extreme concentration as after crossing half of your opponents you will have little time before they catch you! No matter where you practice this sport, it will improve your physical skills because you need to be fast and strong to be successful. People also tend to learn self-defense techniques by playing kabadi. It’s a great game for everyone.

Conclusion paragraph

Kabaddi is a wonderful Importance sport that can be enjoyed by everyone! It will improve your physical skills, teach you self-defense techniques, and it’s an exciting game that will keep you focused until the last second. There are many ways to play this awesome game so go ahead and have fun doing kabaddi.

Essay on kabaddi

Kabaddi is an age-old sport popular in different parts of the world. The word Kabaddi is derived from the Tamil word Kai-pidi which implies “gripping hands”. This is the national game of Bangladesh and is also played in various parts of India. Specifically, this game is more popular in villages of Tamil Nadu, Bihar, UP, Punjab, Gujarat, MP, and Maharashtra. Kabaddi is also known as Hu Tu Tu in other regions of the state.

Kabaddi is considered as a unique game as it does not involve any equipment like other games and only requires a playground. It is played between two teams of seven players each. One player from each side recites “kabaddi…kabaddi..kabaddi..” and goes into the opposition area and makes the best possible efforts to touch at least one player of the opposition team and then tries to go back to his own area safely.

Conversely, all the 7 players of the opposition try to grip him under their control and do not let him go back to his own half safely. If the player successfully touches the opposition player and returns back to his half safely, he manages to make his own player alive who had been out of the game earlier and also scores the points. The whole game is played for a period of 20 minutes and the team who has the highest points wins the game.

Various kabaddi world cups and leagues are organized at the international level to inculcate the spirit of sports among the people and make this game recognized at the international level. People must engage themselves in such games as it makes the people active and lively and also strengthens the muscles. Sports play a significant role in our lives as they keep us healthy and strong and also reduce our physical and mental illness.

Today Kabaddi is considered one of the few famous sports in Asia and this game is being played at the international level as well. If you want to write an essay on Kabaddi, then in today's article we have tried to give detailed information about it.

Essay on Kabaddi 250 Words

Kabaddi is considered one of the few important sports in India. It belongs to the old tradition of India. The game is also described in the Mahabharata, the holy book of Hinduism. In India, this game can be played between any number of people. Just divide all the people into two equal teams and divide a piece of the open field into two parts and the game can be started.

It is an old and cheap game, which does not require any special sports equipment to play. In this game, both the bans try to score more points than each other, and the team that scores the most points in a span of 40 minutes wins. This game is played not only in India but also in different countries of Asia. essay on kabaddi

India is such a country, where many types of sports are played. One of the most popular sports is Kabaddi, which we play for fun. In today's article, we will know in detail about the popular game Kabaddi.

Kabaddi is one of the most popular sports today. Kabaddi is an outdoor sport. Many types of sports are played in our country, in which kabaddi is also a sport. People play this game with their minds, we do not need anything while playing this game.

Kabaddi is the oldest game of India. To play the game of Kabaddi, players need to have strength as well as intelligence. Kabaddi was earlier played in India as well but now India's neighboring country Nepal is also played in Sri Lanka. Kabaddi game is 4000 year old game

Kabaddi is one of the oldest sports, it is a game that requires both strength and agility. Along with eating and drinking, it is also necessary to play sports. Small children don't learn sports first of all. Kabri is also the national game of Bangladesh.

Kabaddi players are divided into two parts. There are 7,7 players on both sides. The Kabaddi ground is 13 meters by 10 meters. A line is drawn in the middle dividing the field into two equal parts. Which divides the field into two parts. As we say, Pala.

When both teams enter the field, they come to the captain of both teams and toss them. The captain wins the toss. He goes for the first raid. The player who goes for the date goes to the raider. The player who tries to catch him is called a stopper.

If a player goes to Kabaddi and comes back after touching a player from the other team, he gets 1 point. And the player whom he has touched is out and has to sit outside his ground for some time. The game of Kabaddi is played in two rounds of 20:20 minutes each.

A break of 5 minutes is also available. The first of both the teams are also changed. Kabaddi has also been included in the Asian Games. That's why it has become a favorite sport in the neighboring countries of our country as well. Since 2004, the World Cup game of Kabaddi is also played. India has won all the World Cups so far.

essay on kabaddi for class 4

Sports have special importance in our life. Especially important are those sports which cause our physical labor. Sports are very important for us. Well, I play many sports. Some outdoor and some indoor games are also there. But my favorite sport is Kabaddi.

To keep our bodies healthy, it is also necessary to play in the same way as we eat and drink. Kabaddi is the cutest game. There is no place to play Kabaddi in the cities, which is why most of the Kabaddi is played in the villages. My favorite sport is kabaddi.

Kabaddi game is a 4000-year-old game that started in the Punjab of India but now Kabaddi is played in neighboring countries along with India and it is also their favorite game.

Different sports are played in India, which includes Kabaddi. The Kabaddi game started in India only. Everyone plays Kabaddi. While playing Kabaddi, we do not need any items.

Both intelligence and brain are used while playing this game. The Kabaddi field is divided into two parts, in the middle of which we draw a line, we call that line Pala.

While playing Kabaddi, two teams face each other. In which the number of players is 7,7. The players of both teams are made to toss by keeping them standing face to face, the player who wins the toss gets the raid before that.

The player who goes to raid is called a raider. If a player touches the hand of the player of the opposite team, then he gets one point and the player who has touched that player gets out of the field for some time, the front team is called a stopper.

The color of the dress of the players of both team's Kabaddi is different. But the size of the dress remains the same. By this, it is known which team he is a player off and his vest is numbered on both the front and back. With the help of that number, his name is also known.

Kabaddi players are numbered so that they know their names, players are called by their names. Both teams of Kabaddi have captains. Before the Kabaddi game begins, both captains make their respective identities.

There are many reasons why kabaddi is my favorite game, in which our physical labor is done by kabaddi. And it gives entertainment. This increases the agility of the body. And enthusiasm increases.

Kabaddi is one such game. In which we need some players. We don't need anything except the players. The way it happens in other games. Like a bat, ball, and stump in cricket.

Kabaddi is also an international game. Till now many competitions of this game have been held at the international level. In which every time the Indian team has won. Which is a matter of pride for us.

Kabaddi game is generally played by those people, who are strong and agile. But there are some people who are agile. In this game, agility is needed more than strength.

Every year there are national-level competitions in our country, in which teams from many states of India participate. And entertains everyone by showing a good game. There is also a competition for this game at the school level.

Kabaddi is considered to be one of the oldest sports in the world. The mention of this game has also been found in some texts of Hindu civilization, from which the researchers guess that this game is being played in India from about 4000 years ago. If you understand the definition and game system of this game well, then you can get an idea of how important it is for our physical and mental development and how carefully this game has been prepared for everyone.

India has brought the importance of this game in front of the whole world and today Kabaddi is being known as an international game. It is not that Kabaddi is played only in India, this game is popular in many Asian countries under different names.

  • How is the game of Kabaddi played?

If we talk about the game of Kabaddi in India, then here a piece of ground is divided and two teams are formed which have an equal number of people. One member of the first team goes to the other team's territory and takes charge of coming back without touching anyone on the other team without holding their breath.

On the other hand, it is the work of the restricted team they do not let the person come without breathing, if the people of the team together force that person to breathe again, then that person is out and the team in front gets marks.

The person who goes to the opposite team's court is called the reader and the member of the opposite team who tries to catch it is called the stumper. The raider is given 1 minute to go to the opposite team's court and come back after touching a person, if in this 1 minute he touches any person of the opposite team and comes back to his circle.

The person he touched is out of the game for some time and the raider's team gets points. gets out of the game and that team gets the point.

As we told you, this game is popular in different countries by different names, because of this, some small rules have been changed in every country, because of this it is an international game, it has been made so that all people understand this game. and take the right decision.

Ravi being a strong player, with the knowledge of the right techniques appeared relaxed as he was aware of his strengths. Even as he was on the ground with the anti¬raiders catching hold of his waist and legs, he slowly inched towards his court.

The best efforts of the anti-raiders failed in pulling him back and Mangesh successfully touched the mid-line scoring three points and getting three players of the anti-raiders out from the game.

Now, 9B began to play by exercising caution. Mihir and one of their raider tasted early success as they managed to tag Sohan in 9A. The other few raids were futile. However, he proved everyone wrong and with great determination he made it back to his court, scoring three points. 6. Read the following note from a school girl’s diary:

Miss Fernandes is our new class teacher. She is slim and fit even at the age of 50. With her gray hair, spectacle and plain formal clothes, she looks so strict!

But we discovered that her classes can be great fun. We begin each class with a simple two minute game or activity. Today we had to write as many words beginning with ‘a’ as we could, within 60 seconds. I wrote 50! I got a pat on my back for making ‘the best effort’! I feel on top of the world.

Write diary entries for the interesting or important events that take place in your school. Write at least two diary entries.

Diary entry 1:

Today in science class we were taught about microorganisms. I was very excited as our science teacher, Miss Anita, took us to the lab. We learnt about various microorganisms as well as saw them from microscopes! I was also able to observe red blood cells as well as plant cells. It was very fascinating.

Afterwards, Miss Anita taught us about the life cycle of different animals. I was surprised when we learnt about frogs as I never knew that’s how tadpoles would look. I really enjoyed science class today because I learned a lot of new things.

Diary entry 2:

Everyone cheered when it was announced that we would be playing dodgeball in today’s Physical Education class. My friend and I volunteered as captains and picked our teammates for the match. My teammates and I formed a circle and the other team went inside the ring. It was an intense five minutes as we tried to eliminate all the opposing players. Just before the time was up, my friend Sam took out the last standing player.

Then it was our turn to go in. Since there were alot of athletes in our team, we put up more of a fight. Eventually my teammates were knocked out one by one until I was the only one standing. My friends cheered for me as I dodged one ball after another. Soon the whistle blew and we had won! I was delighted as everyone praised and congratulated me.

7. Language Study: Degrees of comparison.

We use different forms of adjectives and adverbs to show comparison. They are known as degrees of comparison.

Positive: Mangesh was as strong as Ravi.

She is as tall as her sister.

Comparative: Mangesh was stronger than other players.

She is taller than her sister.

Superlative: Mangesh was the strongest player in the team.

Their sister is the tallest amongst the three.

8. Complete the following sentences using your own ideas.

  • The princess was as beautiful as her sister. (Positive)
  • The princess was kinder than the queen. (Comparative)
  • The princess was the smartest amongst all her siblings. (Superlative)

Note that we usually add ‘-er’, ‘-est’ to short adjectives and use ‘more’ or ‘most’ with longer adjectives.

  • high – higher – highest
  • nice – nicer – nicest
  • attractive – more attractive – most attractives
  • interesting – more interesting – most interesting

9. Read the following words and name the degree of comparison shown by each.

good – better – best

bad – worse – worst

Kabaddi is a very popular game in India. Kabaddi has great importance in India as it is counted among some of the oldest sports in India. Also, it is mostly played in villages and small towns. Kabaddi is being played in India for many years.

Some minor changes have been made in this game in every country, but at the international level, the rules of this game have been kept the same for everyone.

This game teaches us that not only physical strength but also the right understanding has a very important contribution in life. We cannot win this game only on the basis of physical strength, nor can it be won only on the basis of prowess. In this game, you have to be patient and make the right moves at the right time, along with your partners in the right way and your physical strength makes you the winner.

This game has played a very important role in India. India has won four gold medals at the international level in this sport, which is the most in comparison to any other country.

essay on kabaddi

  • international rules of kabaddi

The game is played in a slightly different way at the international level. As we told you, this game is popular in different countries by different names, because of this, some small rules have been changed in every country, because of this it is an international game, it has been made so that all people understand this game. and take the right decision.

By drawing a straight line in the middle of this field, the field is divided into two equal parts, and teams of 7-7 people each are formed. The toss is done at the beginning of the match, the team winning the toss and one member gets a chance to go to the front team's circle.

The game of Kabaddi for men is of 40 minutes and consists of two halves of 20 minutes each. After every 20 minutes, there is a break of 5 minutes, at that time the poles of both teams are changed.
