Talbot Rice Gallery is seeking two Front of House Assistants (fixed-term) who are passionate about the visual arts to join our team. The Front of House Assistants are the first point of contact for public and professional visitors to the Gallery and provides general secretarial and administrative support for the gallery team. The team works together across the varied disciplines within the department, and you’ll get exposed to multiple areas of work. You will be interested in financial systems and keen to develop your understanding of financial controls and financial reporting skills. You must have a keen eye for detail, with a logical and structured approach to tasks, and have great organisational and IT skills. Ideally you will already have Finance experience in a Purchase Ledger role, or perhaps you have a Finance qualification. You’ll be a good team player and be able to communicate with colleagues throughout the organisation. Reporting to the Financial Accountant and working closely alongside two other Finance Assistants, you’ll gain experience across a wide range of finance operations. This is a “hands-on” job processing sales data, purchase invoices and bank transactions against deadlines. You’ll play a key part in helping us develop our financial reporting which is vital to the efficient operation of the galleries. Arts Industry Support Supervisor

The Arts Industry Office helps more than 1,400 UK and international industry professionals each year navigate their way around the festival and find the right artists to connect with. A key aspect of this role will be to work closely with the Arts Industry Coordinator, Fringe venues and arts industry professionals to ensure clear communication and understanding between key stakeholders and partners about the services provided by the Arts Industry office. The primary responsibilities of the Arts Industry Support Supervisor is to provide vital support to the Arts Industry Coordinator and wider team in the overall delivery of the services provided to arts professionals. It is a demanding position which involves working in a busy office and requires diplomacy and tenacity to deal with the large and varied number of Arts Industry professionals using the services during the festival.

Access Officer - Fixed Term Contract

The Access Officer acts as a point of contact for our audience, coordinating our accessible programming and liaising with contractors supplying our BSL and caption provision. They will update our reserved seating database, contact customers to confirm requirements and manage access ticket bookings, including group bookings. The Access Officer will be largely based within the Box Office team, but also be required to work closely with the Front of House team, the Site and Production team, the Marketing team and the Programme team. The Access Officer will also be a member of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Action Group. Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt quickly are all essential for this role. A good understanding of the barriers that face people attending events is required. The successful candidate will possess the following: Essential • Commitment to high levels of customer service, with experience of dealing with customers both in person and on the telephone. • An understanding of the broad range of barriers that can prevent people accessing the Festival • Self-motivated and passionate about improving access and inclusion • Strong communications skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people • Empathy and the ability to maintain confidentiality • A positive, flexible attitude and calm manner under pressure • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, and to advocate for others if necessary • Strong administrative and IT skills Desirable • Previous experience working in the field of accessibility and inclusion • Experience of Box Office ticketing systems, in particular Red61 ticketing • Experience in a festival or arts venue • Ability to use British Sign Language Fixed-term contract: Tuesday 11 June – Monday 26 August 2024 £13.88 per hour, paid weekly in arrears by bank transfer (plus holiday pay).
