University of South Alabama

Sophomore: University of South Alabama has a great campus! There's plenty of campus life and lot's of things to see off campus. One thing I do not like is the options for food. There is limited options most are far away from housing. I think academically, it's a great school with mostly great professors. Many resources are available for anybody who needs help with courses, finances, or anything else. There are a lot of events you can go to, although most events are primarily made up of people in fraternities or sororities, so many people skip them. One of the best events they host is drag-queen bingo, which is so fun and gives away multiple prizes. Overall, it's a great school but could use better food options and renovations to the dorms. ... Florence, AL •

  • • Rating 3.86 out of 5   1,011 reviews

Senior: UNA is a great college! I am able to get a world class education, from some of the most renounced faculty in their respective fields. The campus is beautiful and Florence is so accessible and friendly. The best part about UNA is the small class sizes and the connections that students make with their professors. I truly feel that my professors care for my education, wellbeing, and future outside of UNA. They are knowledgeable, kind, and will go out of their way to help students. Classes are small, which helps with the connection to professors and it also helps shy students (like me) feel more comfortable talking and engaging in class. If I could change anything, it would be to see their graduate programs. Currently the graduate programs are relatively small and they have little to no funding accompanying them, leading graduate students to pay out of pocket and for undergraduate students to look elsewhere for their graduate degrees. But overall, my experience at UNA as been great! ... Read 1,011 reviews

Other: Birmingham Southern College is such a beautiful campus. The view is so amazing. Their faculty and staff are phenomenal in how the assist students through their entire registration process. It as if they have their own island and everyone seem to know each other. BSC reminds you that you're apart of a big happy family. They push you to be the very best. Also, provide a residential close knit community that prides itself on being a home away from your actual home. BSC ensures safety, health and well-being of each student. You will definitely eat, live learn and fellowship together. Honestly, BSC is a great college I would only like to see expansion because its a small college but it has so many opportunities that I strongly believe many students round the world could benefit from. ... Freshman: My experience at the HBCU(Historical Black College or University) Alabama A&M University has been a very interesting one. I had housing at the beginning of the year but lost it however because I was student from Huntsville. Even with losing my housing I mananged to remain a student at Alabama A&M still attending class and other mandatory events that were required. However I didn't let that mess with my experience and contiuned to enjoy campus life. Small things I would like to see change would be with housing on campus. Housing should let finical aid and the president know how much housing they have to make sure that every student gets housing who ask for it. Other than that issue I would say my experience at Alabama A&M has been phenomenal and that it is a wonderful place to chose for your education. ... Read 1,157 reviews

Campus life here is boring because it is a small school in a small area, but the people here helped me have fun and stay active throughout my time here.
