Speech on Nepal

Nepal, a landlocked gem nestled in the Himalayas, offers a vibrant mix of cultures and landscapes. You’ll find lush valleys, bustling cities, and towering mountains, including Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.

Its rich history and diverse traditions make Nepal a fascinating place to explore. From ancient temples to colorful festivals, there’s something in Nepal for every curious mind.

1-minute Speech on Nepal

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Nepal is a gem of a country, settled right in the heart of the Himalayas. Have you ever heard of Mount Everest? Yes, the world’s tallest peak is in Nepal, reaching for the clouds, showing us that the sky is the limit.

Nepal is also a place of rich culture and tradition. People here celebrate many colorful festivals throughout the year. Dashain, Tihar, Teej, all bring people together with joy, songs, and dance. These vibrant events are a mirror of the country’s unity in diversity.

The country’s heritage is another treasure. Places like Kathmandu Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square are full of ancient palaces and temples. They tell us stories of kings and queens, gods and goddesses, from a time long ago.

But it’s not all just mountains and history. Nepal is a paradise for nature lovers too. National parks like Chitwan and Bardiya are homes to rare animals like the Bengal tiger and one-horned rhino. Bird watchers can spot hundreds of different species.

Nepali food is just as diverse as its people and places. From momos and dal bhat to gundruk and dhido, the flavors of Nepal are sure to tickle your taste buds. Each dish is a delightful surprise.

Last but not least, the people of Nepal are its heart. They are known for their friendly smiles and warm hospitality. In Nepal, guests are treated as gods, following the saying “Atithi Devo Bhava.”

So, let’s celebrate Nepal, a small country with a big heart, rich heritage, and majestic nature. It teaches us that size doesn’t matter when you have so much to offer. Thank you.

2-minute Speech on Nepal

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, today, we’re going to talk about a very special place. It’s a small country, but it’s full of big wonders. This place is called Nepal.

Nepal is a country that sits between two giants, China and India. It’s not very big, but it has so much to offer. The first thing that comes to mind when we think about Nepal are the mountains. In fact, Nepal is home to the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. People from all over the world come to Nepal to climb this great mountain. But there are other mountains too, eight of them over 8000 meters high. It’s like a playground for those who love the heights and the challenges they bring.

But Nepal is not just about mountains. It’s also about the people who live there. The people of Nepal are as diverse as the landscapes. They speak more than 100 different languages and follow various religions. But despite their differences, they live together in harmony. They are known for their warm hearts and welcoming smiles. If you ever visit Nepal, you will feel like you are at home, because the people are so friendly and kind.

Now, let’s talk about the beautiful culture of Nepal. The culture is a blend of many influences, from the early settlers, to the larger countries nearby. The result is a rich tapestry of traditions, festivals, music, dance, and art. Festivals like Dashain and Tihar bring everyone together, filling the streets with joy and color. The traditional music and dance tell stories of the past, while the art, like the intricate wood carvings and vibrant thangka paintings, capture the spirit of the Nepali people.

Another aspect of Nepal that you might not know is its incredible wildlife. Nepal is home to some of the world’s most unique animals. You can find the royal Bengal tiger, the one-horned rhinoceros, and the elusive snow leopard in the national parks of Nepal. These parks are like safe havens for these animals, where they can live freely.

Let’s not forget the food. Nepali food is as diverse as its people and landscapes. From momos, the delicious dumplings, to dal bhat, the hearty lentil and rice dish, the food in Nepal is a treat for the taste buds.

In conclusion, Nepal is a tiny country with a big heart. It has towering mountains, a diverse group of people, a rich culture, unique wildlife, and delicious food. Despite the challenges it faces, like the 2015 earthquake, it stands strong, a testament to the resilience of its people. Nepal is a place of beauty, diversity, and warmth. It’s a place that welcomes everyone with open arms and leaves them with unforgettable memories. So, if you ever get the chance, do visit this wonderful country and experience its magic for yourself.

15 Favorite Dialogues of Every Nepali Parent

speech about life in nepali

All the people are different from each other and so are the parents. But when we talk about Nepali parents, there are certain times and situations when all of them behave exactly the same way and surprisingly, they say the same thing. Sometimes it feels like there used to be a school of parenting and all of them graduated together from the same school. We have made a list of 15 of the most common dialogues that we think every Nepali parent say in general. You must have heard them quite often while growing up or even today. Give them a read and let us know if they sound familiar to you or not.

#1. When they think their child is wasting money on useless stuffs.

“Paisa chinnu parcha ahile dekhi nai. Pachhi aafaile kamaune vayepachhi balla thaha pauchas.”

#2. They are just too passionate about having a ‘jwai’ or a ‘buhari’. Especially, this dialogue is often heard by girls in their 20s.

“25 barsa ki vai saki ajhai bihe gardina vancha. Hoina sandhai bhari gharma nai basne ho ra?”

#3. They think it’s your phone which is stopping you from becoming the next Bill Gates. And well, it might be true. What say?

“Hoina kati TV/phone/laptop ma matra jhundeko? Kehi kaam garnu/padhnu pardena hai?”

#4. They instantly turn into a police officer and start interrogating when you tell them that you have a plan with your friends.

“Ko sang jane ho? Kaha ko ho? Keta ho ki keti?”

#5. No matter how much you ate outside, you gotta have the dinner at home anyway.

“Hoina khuru-khuru na khayera, kina khelirakheko khana sang?”

#6. It’s like the rent you gotta pay to live at your home.

“Aru kehi na gare pani, kamtima aafno kotha ta safa rakh na.”

#7. It’s a rule that they got to have a problem with at least one of your friends.

“Teo aghi aayeko tero jhapate sathi ko ho? Herdai gunda jasto.”

#8. They will always compare your life with theirs when they were your age.

“Tero umerko huda maile kamayera ghar chalauna thali sakeko thiye.”

#9. More comparisons!

“Her ta teo Bimala aunty ko chhori kati sarai gyani chha.”

#10. If you are out at night, they never take their eyes off the clock.

#11. Lecture on your studies is just never ending.

#12. This one never goes out of fashion. No matter what kind of mistake you have committed, you gotta be prepared for this one.

#13. If they actually know this, then why do they even bother waste their energy on lecturing you?

“Maile vaneko ahile kaha bujhchas ra. Pachhi thaha pauchas.”

#14. Haircut? What are you talking about?

“Kapaal kateko re? Kaha kateko? Jasto ko testai dekhchu ta ma.”

#15. They hate your awesomeness, which they call ‘laziness’.

“Hoina kati sarai alchhi vayeko ho? Euta sinko ni bhachdaina.”

Sometimes listening to all of these things over and over again make you go….

Me just like..

But guess what? Everything they say or do is only because they love you unconditionally and selflessly. Believe me, they will sacrifice anything just to see you happy. Have you told them how much you love them lately? What are you waiting for??

Which one of these are you used to listen to very often? What other dialogues are most common according to you? Do share in the comment section below.

Opinion: The state of “state of “ speeches is ... meh

Gov. Gavin Newsom delivers the State of the State address on March 9, 2021 from an empty Dodger Stadium.

Good morning. I’m Mariel Garza, editorials editor, and it is Wednesday, April 17. Let’s look at the week so far in Opinion.

On Monday evening, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass delivered her second state of the city speech . And it was ... fine — a well-done example of the genre, if not exactly riveting TV.

No disrespect intended. Bass is required to perform this duty under the municipal code . It’s a tradition followed by generations of presidents and governors, to issue an oral annual report on the state of their particular branch of government. But let’s be honest, these aren’t administrative reports on how well government is functioning, but pep rallies that highlight political and policy wins and lay out the aspirations for the next year.

This raises the question of whether these annual addresses are worth the effort that elected officials and their staffs put into them. While I like the idea of mayors, governors and presidents having to periodically sit in the hot seat to answer tough questions about what their administrations are doing, these glitzy “State of” speeches aren’t accountability sessions. They don’t allow for questions from the public, or even from lawmakers who are the intended audience. They are shows that require diverting public resources away from the actual business of governing.

Would anyone miss them if these dog and pony shows were retired? Did anyone miss Gov. Gavin Newsom’s ceremonial speech last year? He sent a letter to the Legislature instead. Unlike L.A. city’s charter, the state constitution requires only that the governor report the “condition” of the state to the Legislature each year. This year, he planned a return to the address on March 18, but pulled the plug a few days before. There was speculation that the delay was because his much-touted mental health ballot measure, Proposition 1, was in danger of failing after the primary election. It ended up passing, barely. But Newsom hasn’t rescheduled his State of the State speech yet. Will anyone notice if he doesn’t?

It seems presidents could skip the speech too. The U.S. constitution says the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union” and make some recommendations. The way I read that vague language, the president could dispatch that duty with a pie chart and a few bullet points.

Rather than a staged speech, wouldn’t it be more interesting and illuminating to have an annual public Q&A session in which a collection of people representing the public, the media and lawmakers could press mayors, governors and presidents for actual information on the state of government? Now that would be riveting TV.

High electric bills threaten California’s clean future. This plan would help . Who wants to invest thousands of dollars in a heat pump or induction stove only to be punished with higher bills? The Times Editorial Board notes that with California’s electric rates rising, a proposal by state regulators to change how electric power is billed for customers served by investor-owned utilities would ease that burden. “Rather than being charged for each kilowatt-hour with rates bulked up to cover capital costs and maintenance, electric customers would pay a modest flat fee (about $24 a month for most households) and a lower per kilowatt-hour rate. It’s a well-thought-out approach to modernizing California’s electric rates.”

Trump’s antics failed to delay his New York trial. But don’t expect him to give up on them yet . Legal affairs columnist Harry Litman writes that the opening days of Donald Trump’s hush money trial, which began Monday, “will likely feature much the same brand of petulance and vituperation from the defendant, now redirected to the jury selection process.”

My son was killed with a gun. Like too many California parents, I don’t know who did it . Mattie Scott, president of Brady California and the founder of Healing 4 Our Families & Our Nation, says that a bill pending in Sacramento would “ensure that fewer families know this pain” by allowing family members to request reviews of files in cold cases. “These unsolved cases perpetuate a vicious cycle of fear, violence and hopelessness. The perceived disinterest in tracking down a loved one’s killer erodes trust in police. It may even lead some people to arm themselves, despite the risks of having a gun, because they feel the authorities can’t or won’t protect them.”

How can evangelicals like Mike Johnson tolerate Trump? The former president keeps showing his true self, and yet Republicans keep aligning themselves with this thrice-married adulterer, writes Times columnist LZ Granderson. “The image of Johnson standing at the lectern — as Trump stood behind him like a jack-o’-lantern the day after Halloween — was frightening. Unnerving. It was not a show of strength; it was another sign of how far some white evangelicals are willing to drag their faith through the mud just to be next to power.”

Hero Taco Bell manager speaks out after life-saving CPR on baby in the drive-thru

Becky Arbaugh told "GMA" the EMT said she saved the baby's life.

There's nothing quite like a mother's instinct, and a quick-thinking mom's act of heroism at a Taco Bell drive-thru saved an 11-week-old who had stopped breathing.

Natasha Long pulled up to the Richboro Taco Bell, outside of Philadelphia, with her son Myles on Saturday afternoon when she heard him struggling to breathe and got out to check only to find he was blue and lifeless.

PHOTO: Becky Arbaugh, a manager at the Taco Bell in Richboro, PA, saved a woman's 11-week-old son in the drive-thru by performing CPR.

Taco Bell manager Becky Arbaugh told "Good Morning America," that while working the lunch rush, "I heard a scream and then someone yelled out, 'call 911 the baby isn’t breathing!'"

"I threw my headset and ran outside to the baby. The mom was panicked. I told her to give him to me and I performed CPR," Arbaugh recalled. "I was trying to calm her down and comfort her and reassure her that he will be fine."

The EMT said I saved his life

"The baby finally started to breathe. The ambulance came pretty quickly and then they took over," Arbaugh said. "The EMT said I saved his life."

As a mother of four herself with two boys and two girls, Arbaugh told "GMA" she knows how to perform CPR "because my daughter had issues when she was little, I had to do CPR on her a few times."

In an emailed statement to ABC News, a spokesperson for Taco Bell said, "We are incredibly proud of Becky -- for her heroic act earlier this week. We are getting in touch to express appreciation for her quick actions and kindness."

On Saturday night, Long called the store and the pair spoke on the phone the next day.

"She has sent me pictures and videos of the baby. We are now friends on Facebook," Arbaugh continued.

On top of the gratitude from Long, Arbaugh said she has "received calls and emails from so many of my Taco Bell family" adding, "I am so proud to be part of Taco Bell."

Ciara Miller Slams Questions About Her Relationship Progress with West: "I'm Not His"

"I don't like the narrative," the Summer House cast member said while talking about one aspect of her romance with West Wilson.

speech about life in nepali

Ciara Miller is hitting back at commentary surrounding the pace of her romance with West Wilson.

How to Watch

Watch  Summer House  on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on  Peacock . Catch up on the  Bravo app .

On Season 8, Episode 9 of Summer House , which aired on April 18, West turned to Paige DeSorbo  and Amanda Batula  for advice about his relationship with Ciara as related to their sex life — or lack thereof .

"I mean, obviously, we're, like, more than friends at this point," West shared in an interview during the episode. "But after so long, does it become like, there's gotta be a reason for it? She told me she's never dated anyone younger than 35 or something. Not only am I, like, seven years younger than everyone she's dated, but I also just don't have a job. It is a little in the back of my head for sure."

In the Summer House Season 8 After Show   video above, West notes that although he had questions about why he and Ciara weren't having sex, he wasn't exactly surprised by it.

"Everyone is very forward about, like, 'Ciara is very traditional. You're gonna have to f-cking work for it. It'll take a long time,'" he says. "But also, she told me that."

Paige and Amanda React to West's "Awkward" Concern About His Relationship with Ciara

"And I obviously didn't want to be the dude who reads like, 'Please f-ck me,'" he continues. "Like, that's the last kind of guy you want to be."

A split of Ciara Miller and West Wilson.

As Ciara explains in the video, she is bothered by the conversation surrounding her physical intimacy with West.

"I don't like the narrative of, like, I'm withholding something from him," she says. "That implies that he's not getting something that's his. I'm not his. It's my body. He's not entitled to my body. He's not entitled to have sex with me. It's a f-cking privilege to have sex with me."

On  Summer House  Season 8, Episode 7, Ciara explained to  Jesse Solomon  and  Danielle Olivera  that she was "not trying to rush into anything" with West.

"I kind of like that we're taking it slow," she said. "We'll have sex when I'm ready."

Plane crash in Indiana claims life of Maple Grove man

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (KARE 11)— The pilot and sole occupant of a small plane that crashed in Indiana last week has been identified as a Purdue University student from Minnesota.

A news release from the Tippecanoe County coroners office identifies the victim as 20-year-old Alexander Foss from Maple Grove. Foss was identified by using DNA processed by the Indiana State Police Laboratory Division.

WTHR News reports that the single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed near the Purdue University Airport around 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, but the wreckage wasn’t discovered until the following afternoon.

Investigators confirm that the pilot, now identified as Alexander Foss, was the only person on board. Coroner Carrie Costello says Foss died of multiple blunt force injuries associated with the crash.

Costello said her office, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration continue investigating the fatal crash.

“Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the family, friends, and the Purdue University community at this difficult time,” the coroner said in a statement.

Foss was a junior majoring in aviation flight at Purdue. He had rented the aircraft from Purdue Aviation before taking off from Purdue University Airport, said Capt. John Ricks of the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff's K-9 shot, injured in Compton; bulletproof vest 'may have saved his life'

KABC logo

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department K-9 was shot by a suspect in Compton early Wednesday night, authorities said, adding that the bulletproof vest the dog was wearing "may have saved his life."

About 6:20 p.m., members of the sheriff's Special Enforcement Bureau responded to the 100 block of Spruce Street to assist Compton deputies with a search for a person suspected of assault with a deadly weapon and armed with a handgun, the agency said.

"During the search, the suspect fired one shot from a firearm, striking K-9 Kjeld 'Kid' once in the right shoulder area," according to a news release.

The deputies did not return fire, the statement said.

speech about life in nepali

The dog was taken to a veterinarian hospital and treated for his injury, and was later released, the Sheriff's Department said.

"At the time of this incident, K-9 Kjeld was wearing his bulletproof vest, which may have saved his life," a Special Enforcement Bureau captain said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident, authorities said.

The department said Kjeld's "heroic" actions "were crucial in saving the lives of our deputies and even the suspect who shot him, demonstrating extraordinary bravery and dedication."

Anyone with information about the incident was urged to call the sheriff's Compton station at (310) 568-4800.
