essay on swami vivekananda vision of new india

From the mesmerizing landscapes to rich heritage, from unique culture and diverse history to joyful festivals, India is a gorgeous amalgamation of traditions, languages, and people. Being a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-religious society, India, the golden sparrow, inspired by the iconic heroes always believed in “Unity in Diversity“and spreads the message of peace and oneness, takes pride in our traditions and our unparalleled knowledge of Vedas and Upanishads.

India is currently celebrating its seventy-five years of independence where Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is being observed to celebrate the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements.

“Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached”

This sacred message by a personality with an incomparable charisma, wisdom, caliber, and far ahead of his time teachings that have become a yardstick around the world to understand India and its development.

He was none other than Swami Vivekanand. He was the man of action, a change maker who transcended through the clutches of race, religion, and nations and emerged as the man of the millennium. His ideologies marched to become the voice of the 21st century. While living, he played a hero and after death, continues to be an inspiration for the present generation. He had ignited the spark of nationalism and thrilled the entire globe and introduced India to the west at the Parliament of Religions, Chicago more than a century ago sending across the oceans, the eternal philosophy of universal brotherhood that broadened the horizon of India’s wisdom and its age-old spiritual legacy.

What makes Swami Vivekananda the most popular youth icon and the guiding force for youngsters?

SWAMIJI’S VISION FOR BHARAT

When India was suffering from the tentacles of British slavery, the clutches of torture, and plagued by poverty, Swami Vivekananda envisioned that a resurrected and a low in confident India would be the pioneer of the world (Vishwa Guru Bharat) which will regain its name as Golden Sparrow. Around 125 years back he had addressed at the international level- “This is your century right now, but the 21st century is India’s century”. It aroused India from deep slumber and sent a strong message to the youth to give their best for India’s spiritual and national renaissance.

The empowered youth from diverse backgrounds like food to fashion to finance are the forerunners of assessment, awareness, action, and advocacy for sustainable development. They are the main stakeholders, policymakers, powerful resources in handling responsibilities, revolutionizing fellow men, and catalysts for change is the change you want to see in your country.

Today, the world is home to the largest generation of the important drivers of global change and innovation i.e. the youth, contributing about 43% of the global population. A temper of the will, quality of imagination, the predominance of courage, and an appetite for adventure make this huge cohort a vibrant, constructive force which can address global issues and create a more just, equitable, and peaceful world.

1) SELF RELIANT INDIA:

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, inspired by Swamiji's preachings, gave a national call amidst the Covid-19 pandemic for AtmaNirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) on 12th May 2020, while addressing the nation to win the battle against the ongoing Covid-19 outburst. Prime Minister Modi also recalled that the 21st century must belong to India. “We must strive to make the 21st century India’s century and the path to do that is ‘self-reliance.’

India has the capacity to emerge as a global leader post-pandemic. When India speaks of becoming self-reliant, it doesn’t advocate a self-centered system but rather a concern for the whole world’s happiness, cooperation, health, and peace. Ways, methods, processes, procedures, and courses of action can be different but the idea that has to be common is our prime goal to make India Self Reliant.

The first step towards Self-reliant India will be to acknowledge our glorious history and out of that will raise the conviction to reclaim our position amongst other nations. Swamiji says

“On one Side new India is saying, “If we only adopt Western Ideas, Western language, Western Food, Western Dress, and Western manners, we shall be as strong and powerful as the Western nations; on the other, old India is saying, By imitation of other’s idea it never becomes one’s own; nothing unless earned, is your own.’’

So, We can learn from the west but should not imitate their ways blindly. We have to look across the globe, and take ideas but absorb them in our own way.

2) EDUCATED INDIA:

The type of education by which character is built, the strength of mind is enhanced, intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand by his own feet.

3) VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM (The world is a family):

His idea of India and Hindutva was beyond caste, creed, color, and religion or race. He recognized India’s infinite hidden potential which lies in its values and traditions.

Spirituality which teaches people that God resides in everyone and hence no being should be harmed. India, as a millennia-old civilization has yet retained its commonness and unity in spite of centuries of persecution. With great philosophies of ahimsa (non-violence) and karma, India can conquer the world. In Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s words, Swamiji was one of the great founders of the national modern movement of India.

4) EMPOWERED YOUTH:

He spoke of Vyaktitva vikaas (personality development). This development process is all the more vital for us because we are a country with 40% of youth-force and a holistic personality of the yuva-shakti is essential for a strong and vibrant nation. Swami Vivekanand appealed to the youth to be strong and fearless, kind, benevolent, strictly moral, and of high character. He desired them to possess “muscles of iron and nerves of steel, inside which dwells a mind the same material”

5) INDIA AS A SPIRITUAL TORCH BEARER:

India with its powerful weapon of spirituality can broaden the horizon of scientific, social, and political agendas. His discipleship under Paramhansa Ramakrishna, the most outstanding spiritual leader of the 19th century, made Swamiji a master of philosophical and spiritual leader in India.

He dedicated his life to reminding us Indians of that potential, of the prodigious capabilities of the Indian mind. Our obsession with the west and lack of admiration for Indian heroes, Indian thoughts, and all that is Indian in nature have gradually depleted our innate potential.

It is now that we can feel the urgency of his message that India will be the spiritual torchbearer for humanity. When some countries are busy in weapon making, we need the India of Vivekananda’s vision.

“Take up one idea, make that one idea your life, think of it, dream of it, live of it, let the brain, muscle, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea and leave others.”

6) STRONG INDIA WITH ITS VALUES:

Swami Vivekananda throughout his life focused on the idea of ‘Man Making’ and, according to him, through this process, India will arise and awake once more and the ancient mother will be sitting on her throne rejuvenated, more glorious than ever. India was considered to be a slave and a country of snake charmers, a land of superstitions which was being ruled by foreign invaders for centuries. We need to join hands and accomplish our mission of a strong yet peaceful India.

7) HEALTHY INDIA:

A healthy and fit India that honours Yoga, a healthy diet, and Ayurveda as a chief mantra. Medical facilities should be easily accessible to each and every one. Each of us should pledge to donate organs and encourage others to do this noble work.

Yoga can open the gates of the future before the youth, filling them with a new spirit of inspiration, heroism, and dynamic action. He laid emphasis on the growth and development of body and soul for human excellence. Work and more work to strive for excellence of body, mind, and spirit is the need of the hour.

8) WOMEN EMPOWERMENT:

9) corruption free india:, 10) employment:, 11) discrimination:, 12) powerful economy:.

Swami Vivekananda’s views as a progressive Indian thinker for the development of the patriotic and national self-consciousness of people really made a positive impact. His considerable contribution to our national struggle and his teachings still continue to motivate the masses. Born on 12th Jan 1863, he is 150 years young and still going strong

At the crossroads of two epoch-making centuries, when restless Europe was convulsing, on the one hand, under the far-flung tentacles of the greedy, shameless imperialists who were secretly conspiring to drag the world into a bloodbath for the sake of redevising their spheres of influence, colonies, markets, etc. and on the other hand, as a result of the nefarious designs of the imperialists, the progressive people—the thinking intelligentsia, the working class and their allies—were preparing for a showdown with the existing masters of the society, when the thinking people of India were searching for the correct path which the country should follow in social, political and other matters, Vivekananda appeared like a meteor and within a short period of less than a decade of his public life not only endeared himself to millions of his countrymen and thousands of his admirers and followers in Europe and America, not only dispelled the century-old slanderous notions about India and Indians spread carefully and constantly by the imperialists and their agents in various guises, but made major contributions in many fields of human knowledge which were of far-reaching consequences.

International Journal of Applied Research

Education plays an important role in the development of nation and life of every person, especially in globalized competitive environment as we know it today. India is a country with varied and rich cultural heritage. Numerous great educationists came with their individual ideas and philosophy of education to place education system in a perfect frame in the 19 th century. Among all, Swami Vivekananda (12 th January, 1863-4 th July, 1902) was the most influential and renowned personality, educationist, and reformer of India with his ideas and philosophy of education. His thoughts and teaching ideas still influences our education and all aspects of life. Swami ji believed in the philosophy of Vedanta, which believes that the goal of human life is to achieve "oneness with the Creator". Vivekananda was not only a great supporter of Vedanta but also, he had given Vedanta a practical form. Swami Vivekananda is one of the most famous philosophers and educational thinkers in the history of Indian education. He forced a truly men-making education system. Such an education, he says, the manifestation of perfection is already in man. Swami Vivekananda always believed that development a nation is possible with a quality education. Quality education give a safe passport for a comfortable life, because it guarantees a good job, higher education opportunities at prestigious Institutions and many good progressive things. One of the most important Swami Vivekananda's themes is the issue of building strong character in youth. According to him, the development of a good personality in each man is necessary in the case of nation building. He says "The creation of man means the harmonious development of body, mind, and soul but modern India has put tremendous emphasis on the scientific and mechanical ways of life which is fast reducing man to the status of a machine. Moral and religious values are being diluted. The fundamental principles of civilization are being disregarded. While according to Swami Ji aim of education should be to help a human being grow from the human to being human and social animal to the divine state, through self-effort, selfrealization, and proper training. Modern India needs to work in the field of producing genuine human beings. We can establish a developed society through the complete education system which was suggested by Swami Vivekanand. The present thematic paper aim to highlight Swamiji's ideas of education. S wami Vivekananda was a pioneer of Indian religious tradition which was very much associated with a decolonized concept of nationalism as well as other nationalistic discourses. Any discussion on Indian nation and nationalism will not complete without an assessment of Swami Vivekananda's idea of these. Like Sri Aurobindo and Bipin Chandra Pal, Swami Vivekananda was a stern supporter of the concept of nationalism which is based on religion and spirituality. By religion Vivekananda understood the eternal principles of moral and spiritual advancement. He believed in universal toleration and not in social and religious imposition. Therefore he can't be charged with sectarianism or communalism (Panda 31). Keeping these in view, the present study will try to investigate Vivekannada's vision from nationalistic point of view.

Swami Vivekananda: The Greatest Son of India

Born Narendranath Datta in 1863, Swami Vivekananda wasn't just a monk; he was a whirlwind of intellect, spirituality, and unwavering passion. He rose from the bustling streets of Calcutta to become the voice of India's ancient wisdom on the world stage, leaving an indelible mark on the 19th and 20th centuries. This essay delves into his remarkable journey, exploring his transformative teachings and their continued relevance in our lives.

We in modern society often talk about our strengths and weaknesses but long ago in the 19th Century, a boy born in a middle-class Bengali family of Kolkata reached a divine stature in his life at an early age through his spiritual thoughts and simple living concepts. He said, “Strength is Life and Weakness is Death.” He also said, “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.” Can we guess by now who the boy is? Yes, we are talking about Narendra Nath Dutta who later went on to become Swami Vivekananda, the monk. A student who during his college days was fond of music and sports like other young boys of his age completely transformed himself into a person of exceptional spiritual vision. His works "Modern Vedanta" and "Raj Yoga" are today acclaimed all over the world.

Life of Swami Vivekananda

Fondly referred to as Swamiji, Vivekananda was born as Narendranath Dutta in an aristocratic Bengali family in British-ruled India on 12th January 1863. His father Vishwanath Dutta was a renowned attorney at the Calcutta High Court. Narendranath Dutta regarded his mother Bhuvaneshwari Devi as a goddess and in his numerous books, he wrote that his mother was a “Divine Spirit” for him.

Swami Vivekananda proudly upheld the greatness of Hinduism and taught the world its true essence of acceptance and tolerance. His famous speech at Chicago World Religion Congress in the year 1893 is remembered to date. “Sisters and brothers of America"- the opening lines of the speech made the audience sit up and applaud with great zeal.

Swami Vivekananda: The Inspiration to the Youth of India

He became rather still the inspiration of the youths and to pay homage to him his birthday on 12th January is celebrated as National Youth Day. We even today learn the true aim of scriptures and austerity from his works. Guru Bhakti? How can we forget that to serve the poor downtrodden people of the society he established the Ramakrishna Mission before the name of his Guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa in 1897?

Vivekananda and Western Philosophy were like two sides of the same coin. This happened when Ramakrishna proved to him that he can visualize God like the way he can see Swamiji; this surprised him a lot as a person who had no traditional knowledge about Science, Literature, or the Culture of India, could visualize God. The very thought that awakened Swamiji was the spiritual knowledge that was beyond all moral ethics and values. He realized we worship God for us but his Guru worshipped God for the sake of mankind.

Life and Work of Swami Vivekananda

A man with in-depth knowledge of Vedas; Upanishads; Bhagavad Gita and much more used to believe that serving mankind is to serve God and hence he was the person who can say "God gave me nothing I wanted but He gave me everything I needed." Happiness to him was a smile on the face of the poor. He was inspired right from his childhood due to her mother's religious nature and father's rational mind who was a then Lawyer.

We all are aware of his knowledge and personality, but most of us are unaware that Swamiji was a brilliant singer. He used to enchant devotional songs on his own to keep his mind at a peaceful stake. It is due to this ability he came across Ramakrishna Dev who happened to hear young Narendra Nath sing a devotional song that impressed Paramhansa. He then invited Vivekananda to Dakshineshwar from where the life of Swamiji changed completely.

The childhood wish to visualize God in front became a reality to Swamiji in the vicinity of Ramakrishna. Swamiji used to believe strongly that people are born to do good for the Nation with proper guidance.  The worship of one God as an idol was recognized by the Brahma Samaj which made Swamiji surprised during his college days from where the curiosity to see God arose. In one of his books, he expressed his gratitude to William Hastie, the then Principal of Scottish Church College, from whom Swamiji came to know about Ramakrishna.

Swami Vivekananda's Demise

“You can lead if you win or else you will guide if you lose"- these quotes are true even in the 21st century. It is Swamiji who taught us the spirit to fight till the last moment as the goal has to be reached. Non-duality and selfless love are the two vital lessons he taught until the end of his life. Swamiji breathed his last at Belur Math, West Bengal on the 4th of July, 1902 at the age of 39. However, his legacy endured, influencing generations to come. His teachings continue to inspire millions, encouraging them to strive for excellence, seek spiritual understanding, and contribute to the welfare of society.

Swami Vivekananda was a towering figure, a bridge between East and West, a champion of ancient wisdom in a modern world. His life and teachings are a testament to the transformative power of spirituality, urging us to rise above limitations, embrace our divinity, and contribute to a world filled with compassion, understanding, and service. Let us celebrate his legacy not just through words, but by embodying his spirit of inquiry, his unwavering dedication to service, and his unwavering belief in the inherent greatness of every human being.

Swami Vivekananda, born as Narendranath Datta, was a key figure who played a significant role in introducing the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. He is also known for his contribution to the concept of nationalism in colonial India.

Early Life and Education

Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata. He was an intellectual from a young age, demonstrating a keen interest in a broad range of subjects such as philosophy, religion, history, social sciences, and arts. His education at the Presidency College, Kolkata and later at the Scottish Church College, further instilled in him a sense of rational thinking and religious inquiry.

Association with Ramakrishna Paramahansa

Vivekananda’s spiritual quest led him to Ramakrishna Paramahansa, a saint in Dakshineswar. Ramakrishna’s teachings, rooted in the unity of God and service to humanity, deeply influenced Vivekananda. He became one of the most devoted disciples of Ramakrishna, who often regarded Vivekananda as his spiritual heir.

Formation of Ramakrishna Mission

After Ramakrishna’s death, Vivekananda played a pivotal role in organizing the monastic order, Ramakrishna Math, and the service-oriented organization, Ramakrishna Mission. These establishments aimed at serving humanity and promoting spiritual harmony, drawing from the teachings of Ramakrishna Paramahansa.

Philosophy and Teachings

Vivekananda’s philosophy was a harmonious blend of the East and the West. He propagated the essence of Vedanta’s philosophy, emphasizing the unity of existence and the divinity of the soul. He advocated for the development of a character that combined the best of both spiritual insight and physical prowess, a concept he termed as “Jnana Karma Sanyasa.”

Impact on the West

Vivekananda’s speech at the Parliament of World’s Religions in Chicago in 1893 marked a significant milestone in his life and the global recognition of Hinduism. His message of tolerance, universal acceptance, and the essence of Hindu philosophy resonated with the audience. He spent several years in the USA and Europe, disseminating the teachings of Hindu philosophy and yoga.

Vivekananda’s influence was not limited to spiritual teachings; he also made significant contributions to social reforms. He propagated the idea of ‘Daridra Narayana,’ which means serving the poor as a way to serve God. His teachings continue to inspire millions, fostering interfaith understanding and promoting global peace.

In conclusion, Swami Vivekananda was a spiritual luminary, an ardent disciple, a compelling orator, and a social reformer. Swami Vivekananda’s vision for future of India, as I understand -2

essay on swami vivekananda vision of new india

[Continued from yesterday ]

Swami Vivekananda said: “Let New India arise….. Let her arise out of the peasant’s cottage….., out of the huts of the fisherman, the cobbler and the sweeper. Let her emanate from the factory, from marts and from the markets and from groves and forests, from hills and mountains.”

Can we not interpret this call as a call for all those people to unite, awake and arise to achieve the goal — a New India, free India? I think that was his inner voice speaking. Only, we must have understood its hidden meaning and acted.

And, of course, there were many freedom fighters who were inspired by this Hindu monk whose vision was a New India, a free India and a spiritually enlightened India to make it a Vishwa Guru. No wonder, Subhas Chandra Bose called Swamiji as the ‘maker of modern India.’ We hear our leaders talking about India becoming a Viswa Guru in the near future. I guess it is possible. Look at the famous names of Western thinkers, theologians and philosophers who were deeply influenced by our ancient scriptures and epics.

Yes, Swamiji did not leave behind a Charter, like Magna Carta, nor left a Vision Statement for developing the future India. But there is much to infer about his vision for future India from his talks, letters and activities.

He was a dreamer, rationalist and a realist. He recognised what is real or possible in a particular situation of human life. We find this in his deep concern for the teeming millions of poor in the British India whom he called Daridra Narayana (ದರಿದ್ರ ನಾರಾಯಣ) meaning Deprived God, if I may translate it so.

He was much disturbed at their plight and must have observed their lack of faith in spiritualism or religion from where one can derive hope, solace and moral strength to face life.

Therefore, he told his followers to take God to these deprived people through their stomach. By providing them food first, before taking religion to them. Reason was, there was no greater God than food. In Kannada language we say “ಅನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಇನ್ನು ದೇವರುಂಟೆ?”

It is, therefore, understandable why the great Hindu Saint Adi Shankaracharya declared “Annam Brahmam.” Food is God. If Jesus Christ had said that ‘man does not live by bread alone but also by the word of God,’ Swami Vivekananda had a different take on it. Swamiji said, ‘Man lives by bread. Therefore, first feed the man so that he may live, thereafter take him to God. He will then accept God and live by God’s words’. Both said the same idea but differently.

He predicted that India would be free in 50 years, as I told you earlier. He also predicted about India rising to great heights. Swamiji said ancient India was great politically and spiritually, but the future India would be far more greater, it would become Vishwa Guru, politically, economically and spiritually. And, he said India would once again be a “Punya Bhoomi.” A land of purity, peace, prosperity, non-violence and truthfulness. In one word, a land of Dharma. That was his vision for India.

There is also a third prediction he made which is rather curious. He said proletariat, serfs, Sudhras would rule Russia, China and India.

Yes, it happened with Russia in 1917, with China in 1949. But in India it did not happen though we got freedom in 1947. Of course, later in West Bengal and Kerala it happened. But being a Welfare State under democracy, we can say, Swamiji’s prediction in this regard also has become true.

His two important visions for India of the future can be found in what he had to say about women and the evil of social order based on caste system. He says that in women we see the manifestation of the Force known as Shakti, strength. Our ancient scriptures say that Gods bless those families where women are happy and well-treated. Therefore, educate them as in western countries, make them free and energetic. This in short was Swamiji’s vision for women of our country. As for caste restriction, he says, primarily it is grinding the poor. It must go, no matter what it takes, he said.

Sadly today, because of our electoral politics, caste is used for political, social and economic benefits. Hitherto unknown castes, castes that had already merged in the mainstream of our society, are dug out and revived as if to perpetuate this pernicious caste system for selfish interest at the cost of the national interest. It might be suicidal for the unity of Hindus and the country.

And it is my perception that people who follow Hindu religion will never be united as long as caste plays a role in every activity of a Hindu’s life.

According to Swamiji, our nation was totally lacking in the faculty of organisation because of caste division and as a result very difficult to make a Common Cause for anything, including freedom, by Hindus. No wonder, foreign invaders found it easy to enslave the people of this country.

And today we have insiders, like inside traders in the stock market, to do what the invaders did to this country, wounding its civilisation and leaving the festering wound even to this day.

For the same reason, at the time of freedom, United India, Akhanda Bharat, could not be made a ‘Common Cause’ by the Hindus of this land.

We may not be able to reclaim or undo the history; but we should reclaim our lost heritage, civilisation and culture. The reason is that they are based on our scriptures like Veda, Upanishad, Puranas, our glorious epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata. We must endeavour to achieve this goal of Swami Vivekananda in a peaceful, legal way or through reconciliation among the people of different race, religion and caste.

Brothers and sisters, these are the vision of Swami Vivekananda for the future of our country as I have gleaned from books. Now let me conclude with Swamiji’s meaningful words for the development of our country today.

“Trust not the so-called rich, they are more dead than alive. The hope lies in you — in the meek, the lonely but the faithful.” Here please mark the word “Faithful”. Be faithful to yourself and to the country. Surely, Swami Vivekananda’s vision for future India would be realised.

And finally before I say enough for now, let me strongly recommend a book titled ‘Indian Culture’ by Dr. S. Srikanta Sastri in Kannada and English. It is about Indian History, Culture and Heritage. There in the timeline of cultural evolution, the year 10,000 BC, is mentioned as the dawn of vedic age. Significantly it also mentions 1800-1857 as the milestone when Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda were born giving an impetus to our cultural evolution.

So like the monks of Ramakrishna Ashram and Mutt, who are the foot-soldiers of Swami Vivekananda, let us become Swamiji’s foot-soldiers and help in realising his vision.

essay on swami vivekananda vision of new india

Absolutely brilliant. How I wish this will be discussed by all our teachers in the school. If I start trying to comment which has impressed me the most, it will be difficult. This is because from the beginning to the end every word is pregnant with deep meaning to reflect on.

essay on swami vivekananda vision of new india

Mr Ganapathy’s articles these days reeks of delusion bordering nonsense. Swami Vivekananada lived over 100 years ago, and so many attempts have been made to revive his teachings and meanings of them tin Indian context after independence, and yet Indians have become more greedy, more corrupt and more self-centred hypocrites. If anything, it appears as through this Swamiji and others before him like the great Shankaracharya, never existed. Indian politics the institutions large and small and the society have been mired in the cesspool of greediness and corruption which follows the greediness so firmly embedded in Indian psyche. ” Absolutely brilliant” chimes Barmy Shenoy, in a glee filled with sycophancy! This for a purpose. Mr Ganapathy , give Barmy a column, so that he can earn Rupees dishing out nonsense every week as Javeed Nayeem does.

essay on swami vivekananda vision of new india

Indians are very good in bringing in people like Swami Vivekananada who existed over a century ago, and on whose life, countless articles have been written, and yet another thousand of pieces written asking people to follow his payth. It appears over these decades, people have ignored all of them. They are more interested in acquiring goods like IPhone, Apple laptop and the very fact the IT is allowed to skew the education system in a way, these days, every aspiring student wants to be an IT techie doing the outsourced work from American companies. They want to be another Narayana Murthy, who does not give a damn about them, and is only interested in ensuring his son ,daughter and son-in-law become rich and famous whatever means available. His wife Sudha Murthy from time to time throws a few crores to hoodwink people that her foundation cares for them! Her pontifications does not extend to her daughter, as it was revealed that her daughter is fond of drinks-yes alcoholic kind like Vodka, Whisky! Even the Seers -there are hundreds of them starting from the Suttur Mutt, who are really politicos and not spiritual leaders-very wealthy and always playing real politik. Look at the Ganapathy swamy who built his so called sppiritual empire, out of no where, based on the gullible people, who think that real spiritual leaders like Swami Vivekananada still exist! This Ganapthy Swamy was a postman! There is more wealth influence and other pleasures are linked to every Mutt and every Swamiji. Vivekananda’s memory is invoked, as if he never existed before, which is a con game for a purpose. Mr Ganapathy is indulging in this game. He has to do this, he will day as the president of the BVB Mysore Kendra I heard in London, similar kind of noises by late Mathur Krishna Murthy, who did absolutely nothing in spreading the BVB message across the wider public, but ensured that the BVB London Kendra was his asset. He stayed long enough to bring his son-law to London and make him his BVB London Kendra successor. Some spiritual effort indeed! India today is the most morally degraded country in this planet .Look at the corruption , the selfish attitude while quoting Bhagvat Geeta or highlighting the ancient culture, but yet tolerating dowry-related murders. Indians are the most morally degraded humans. Yet, this country starting from Shankaracharya has produced superior humans like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, his disciple Vievekananada, Vidyaranya and other very noble souls. They will be very hurt looking the morally depraved India today.
