The oddly-titled Eesho benefits from the solid performances of Jayasurya and Jaffer Idukki, but the storytelling style is a major letdown. The script doesn't carry even a tiny bit of suspense, and the average thriller-viewer should be able to decipher every twist and turn in the plot very easily. Nadirshah harks back to a hot button issue he presented in his first film Amar Akbar Anthony , and this time, chooses to give it a more serious treatment. But Eesho fails as a thriller because its plot beats have absolutely nothing new to offer. Roby Varghese Raj's visuals give the night scenes a very saturated look, making these portions somewhat more interesting (at least to look at!). Rahul Raj's score is strictly average.
Review by Deepak Chazhoor ★★★
There’s nothing remarkable about Nadirshah’s latest film. Maybe his most somber directorial yet, but it’s as plain and predictable as they come. Watchable, yet disposable. Engages as a fairly decent time killer while it lasts, and that’s all there is to it.
Review by Moon ★★½
Eesho is directed by Nadirsha and he's trying to do something different here. Sure, it's great that he's doing new stuff but ngl, he's better off directing the lighthearted comedies he once used to make. Or he isn't? Idk. The man used to have a way with 'lighthearted comedy' irrespective of whether the movies were good or not, but then the jokes just grew very stale after a point. So maybe, him, stepping into the thriller genre is for the good? I didn't think Eesho was a bad film. Sure, it's got flaws, which I will get to, in just a moment. It's only 105 minutes or so long and doesn't really drag all that much, so I'm glad to…

Eesho is an average thriller with a predictable story. Jayasurya and Jaffer Idukki's performance were the only saving grace and their combination scenes were good.

Generic and predictable could be the best two words that could summarise this movie.
Although there are some good performances, the script is too basic, predictable and uses sexual assault as a cheap plot device. Complete let down. Also the title seemed like a forced and unnecessary one.
Verdict: Not recommended

“Could it be any more generic”?!
Also the last good Jayasurya film(as a solo lead) was Aadu 2(2017). It’s been 5 years..👨🏿🦯

This is a thriller which doesn't keep u engaged or thrilled except for the end portions. Perfomances of Jaffer Idukki and Jayasuriya are good but the execution and writing makes the film fall at times.
Expected more actually,Not Satisfied !

Eesho Movie Review: Jayasurya, Nadirshah dish out an outdated, forgettable film
Rating: ( 2 / 5).
After attempting a slew of fun (at least on paper) entertainers, Nadirshah has forayed into a serious zone for the first time with his latest outing, Eesho . On the surface level, it's a minimalistic thriller woven around a chance encounter between two characters over the course of a night. Eesho begins in the most amateurish way possible — an old-fashioned song that captures a mother-daughter bonding. The song's composition and rendering are very similar to the track ' Enno Njanente' from Nadirshah's debut film Amar Akbar Anthony ( AAA ). The similarities could have ended here. But...
Cast: Jayasurya, Jaffer Idukki, Namitha Pramod, Suresh Krishna
Director: Nadirshah
Rating: 2/5
Like in AAA , Eesho also has a child abuse angle. But thankfully, there's no jarring tonal shift here. This time, Nadirshah seems to be clearly aware of the seriousness of the topic, and fortunately, he never tries to dilute it with needless fun moments. Unfortunately, Nadirshah falters miserably with the filming of the abuse scenes, where his choice of showing a pedophile's POV is plain unnecessary.
At the centre of the action is Ramachandran Pillai (Jaffer Idukki), an ATM security guard, who is witness to a gruesome crime. And naturally, evil forces try to kill him. On the night before testifying in court, he encounters a mysterious man (Jayasurya) on the road. The narrative is mostly centered around these two men, their interactions, and finally... the big revelation.
Unfortunately, Suneesh Varanad's writing is so insipid that the supposed big reveal unravels itself in the first few minutes. There is a lot of exposition at the beginning, which gives away everything and nullifies the intrigue factor. With Jayasurya at the helm, there can be no doubts either about the so-called reveal.
Nevertheless, Eesho is saved to a large extent by the performances of its two lead actors. Both Jayasurya and Jaffer Idukki are absolute naturals and manage to keep their exchanges lively despite the hollowness in writing. Once the light-hearted interactions end, there's an attempt to thrill the viewer with some tense moments. But Nadirshah hardly has a grip on making these intimidations work, and we are left with an archaic and predictable train wreck of a climax.
Another drawback of Eesho is certainly the lack of interesting supporting characters. Despite talented actors like Suresh Krishna and Namitha Pramod present in the cast, they are relegated to one-note characters with hardly anything to do in this film. It is almost like they are present as afterthoughts. Even if we could look past many of these issues, Eesho is weighed down by its complete lethargy towards rising above conventions. It is most evident from the patchy production design and awkwardly flashy cinematography.
Even while dealing with such predictable vigilantism-upholding tales, filmmakers in the past have come up with compelling thrillers. But with hardly any inventiveness in storytelling, Eesho suffers irredeemably and ends up as a forgettable affair.

Jayasurya’s Eesho release date confirmed, here’s when and where to watch Nadirshah’s thriller
The movie, which will be a direct-to-OTT release, also has Namitha Pramod and Jaffer Idukki as part of the cast
- Sanjith Sidhardhan Team OTTplay
Last Updated: 02.14 PM, Sep 21, 2022
Jayasurya is gearing up for his second direct-to-OTT release since the pandemic with Nadirshah’s upcoming thriller Eesho. The movie, which was always set to be an OTT release, also has Namitha Pramod and Jaffer Idukki in pivotal roles.
Shot right after the first lockdown in Kochi and Dubai, the movie is the director’s first thriller after helming comedy entertainers such as Amar Akbar Antony, Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan and Kesu Ee Veedinte Nathan.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Jayasurya had confirmed that the movie will be an OTT release. “It will be a different type of thriller. It will be the most different film in Nadirshah ikka’s career,” he said. The film’s OTT rights were sold for apparently the highest amount for a Jayasurya-starrer. The actor’s previous OTT release was Sunny, which was helmed by Ranjith Sankar.
Eesho’s OTT rights have been picked up Sony LIV and the movie is currently set to hit the platform on October 5. This will be Sony LIV’s next Malayalam OTT release after Aavasavyuham – The Arbit Documentation of Amphibian, which hit the streaming service on August 4, and Sundari Gardens, which released earlier this month.
On Eesho, the film’s director Nadirshah had earlier told us that the movie was extensively shot during the night. He also lauded the actor’s dedication for his roles, saying that he was impressed with how Jayasurya essayed the challenging role of a polio-afflicted youngster in Amar Akbar Antony and this was a key reason to cast him in Eesho as well.
Jayasurya, whose previous release was the investigative thriller John Luther, is next gearing up to shoot his biggest film yet – Kathanar. The movie, which is an adventure fantasy thriller, is directed by #Home filmmaker Rojin Thomas and will be shot in 3D. The actor had allotted close to four months for the shoot of the movie, which has him in the role of a priest with supernatural powers.

'Eesho' trailer out, Jayasurya starrer promises an edge-of-the-seat thriller
20 september 2022, 12:58 pm ist.
Jayasurya in 'Eesho'
Makers of 'Eesho' starring Jayasurya released the trailer of the movie on Tuesday. Interestingly, the trailer hints that the movie will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller for the audience.
'Eesho' directed by Nadirshah will have a direct OTT release on October 5 through Sony Liv. Apart from Malayalam, the movie will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Jafar Idukki, Namitha Pramod, Indrans, Suresh Krishna, Kottayam Nazeer and Baby Akshara Kishore are playing pivotal roles in the movie.
'Eesho' is written by Suneesh Varanad and produced by Arun Narayanan. Roby Varghese cranked the camera and Rahul Raj composed the background score.
The movie triggered a controversy over its title soon after the release of the poster last year. The Christian Association for Social Action had filed a petition before the High Court claiming an injunction restricting the film from being released. A number of pastors and believers have accused the film of hurting the religious sentiments of Christians.
But the HC bench headed by the Chief Justice has dismissed the petition. The bench pointed out that the court could not intervene in this matter just because the movie's title is of a god.

Eesho Review: A Predictable Thriller With Some Great Performances
Oct 5, 2022
Eesho is a Malayalam thriller headlined by Jayasurya and Jaffar Idukki, directed by Nadirshah with a screenplay by Suneesh Varanad. This SONY LIV movie deals with the themes of sexual assault against children and POCSO cases. The trailer of the movie portrayed it as a fantastic edge-of-the-seat thriller. But, does it actually live up to it? Read this review of Eesho to find out.
As predictable as it can get
Eesho is as predictable as it can get for a thriller. As the movie begins, you expect something to happen, but what actually happens is something else altogether. And that’s not necessarily a good thing. Even before Jayasurya’s character is introduced, we know very well where the movie is going with him.
Eesho begins with a young girl who is being sexually assaulted by her teacher. The authorities, however, take no action against the teacher. Instead, they turn it all around on the girl and her mother, questioning their characters. Unable to deal with the public humiliation, the mother-daughter duo kill themselves. Cut to some time later, an old ATM security guard Ramachandran Pillai agrees to be a witness to a POCSO case. As he is testifying against a rich and powerful industrialist, the film shows a conspiracy to kill him.
Every moment in this movie is easily predictable. At the very first mention of events, you can guess how it is all going to play out. This makes the movie not just predictable, but also boring. The director undermines the intelligence of the audience. So, when the big reveal happens, you were already expecting it.
Performances worth the watch
The movie is all about Jayasurya and Jaffar Idukki and they get the maximum screen time. The rest of the cast, like Namitha Pramod, Suresh Krishna, Johny Antony, Kottayam Nazeer, Rajith Kumar, and Indrans, barely have any role to play. Eesho is a dialogue-centric movie, so even if you don’t have your eyes trained on the screen, you are not missing anything.
Jayasurya’s Eesho is a little unpredictable, but that is largely due to the actor’s prowess rather than the strength of the writing. You are never really sure if Eesho is a villain or a hero even if you have clear suspicions. Jaffar Idukki is a pleasure to watch. He gets the nuances right and you feel everything he is feeling. From the resolve to do the right thing to the fear of being in the crosshairs of a powerful man, the character of Ramachandran Pillai is the star of the show. Namitha Pramod’s Advocate Aswathy is a strong woman with no real importance in driving the story.
Despite the fact that the movie deals with themes of sexual assault, the women don’t have a say on the topic. In fact, Eesho is a highly male-centric film and deals with how the men who are witnesses to a tragedy deal with the aftermath. There is no talk about how the actual survivors of such tragedies deal with the fallout.
Though predictable, Eesho is worth a watch for the strong performances of Jayasurya and Jaffar Idukki. And even if you miss it, well, you won’t be missing much.

Eesho Malayalam Movie
Eesho begins with a cringeworthy scene that sets the tone for the rest of the film. A grown-up man treats a girl in a way that is suggestive of a forthcoming rape. In the next scene, the movie shows the girl crying as she walks out of the room, and the camera zooms in on the back of the girl to suggest how young she is.
Then, you will have to wait for a long time to know what the movie is all about. There is Jaffar Idukki as an ATM security guard who is about to testify in court. It takes a while to know who he will testify against and why. A mysterious man named Eesho (Jayasurya) comes to see the security guard. The rest of the movie shows who Eesho is and what he has to do with the security person.
Eesho is a pretty straightforward movie with predictable elements that we usually see in rape-revenge thrillers. Director Nadirshah uses the resources available to him well enough to set up an intriguing premise, but the element of predictability in the script deprives us of any shock value. It is not always possible to thrill the audience just by delaying a piece of information or two.
There is a problematic and regressive idea in rape-revenge thrillers, and Eesho will only serve to propagate it. These movies suggest that women are raped so that men can save them and that violence is the only way to deal with rape. Nevertheless, Eesho does not have more problematic elements related to its theme, such as victim shaming.
Even as a piece of entertainment, Eesho hardly rises above the quality of being watchable, but that is OK. You may like this film if you can overlook the element of predictability in it.
The scenes shot at night bring a sense of authenticity to the proceedings. The background music does a good job of holding our attention, and the performances of Jayasurya and Jaffar Idukki are quite good.
His character may be predictable, but Jayasurya does a good job of playing a mysterious man who holds his cards close to his chest. Jayasurya is not afraid of being a bit unlikable on screen, which is a good quality to have for a movie star. On the other hand, Jaffar Idukki is terrific as a helpless security guard with morbid fears. Jaffar Idukki is one of those underrated actors who can effortlessly play the Chief Minister of Kerala and the security guard of an ATM counter. Even in a role that he has done many times before, Jaffar Idukki in Eesho reminds us of how good he is as an actor.

Here is the Review of EESHO telugu dubbed movie directed by Nadirshah starring Jayasurya, Namitha Pramod, Jafar Idukki, Johny Antony, Indrans, Suresh Krishna...
Movie is as generic as it can be. Run time of barely 1hr 47minutes makes it bearable. Still could have cut 10 more minutes. Nadirshah again comes with a theme that he had in his first movie. And for a change no comedy. Jayasurya and Jaffar Idukki are two solid porformers and they did their job well.
The lack of conviction and the formulaic nature of the whole setup is evident from the first sequence in Eesho, which begins with a song in the voice of the child, who would soon become a victim ...
Published on : 06 Oct 2022, 1:17 pm. Rating: ( 2 / 5) After attempting a slew of fun (at least on paper) entertainers, Nadirshah has forayed into a serious zone for the first time with his latest outing, Eesho. On the surface level, it's a minimalistic thriller woven around a chance encounter between two characters over the course of a night.
Jayasurya who plays the role of Eesho, the uninvited guest, does a great job of adding mystery to the character. His way of making the dialogues seem like a natural conversation adds a lot of ...

On Eesho, the film's director Nadirshah had earlier told us that the movie was extensively shot during the night. He also lauded the actor's dedication for his roles, saying that he was impressed with how Jayasurya essayed the challenging role of a polio-afflicted youngster in Amar Akbar Antony and this was a key reason to cast him in Eesho as well.

This SONY LIV movie deals with the themes of sexual assault against children and POCSO cases. The trailer of the movie portrayed it as a fantastic edge-of-the-seat thriller. But, does it actually live up to it? Read this review of Eesho to find out.

A grown-up man treats a girl in a way that is suggestive of a forthcoming rape. In the next scene, the movie shows the girl crying as she walks out of the room, and the camera zooms in on the back of the girl ...

Verdict: On the whole, Uniki is a female-oriented drama that fails to impress. The film is filled with over-the-top drama, boring scenes, and dull pace. Apart from the good dialogues, this film has nothing much to showcase and can be ignored. 123telugu.com Rating: 2/5.

Verdict: On the whole, The Family Star entertains to a certain extent. Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur deliver fine performances. However, the film's slow-paced screenplay, lack of emotional depth, ineffective background score, and weak storyline are the notable drawbacks. If you can overlook these aspects, it may still be worth a watch ...
