The learning objectives for the lesson must be determined before you can begin to plan it. In contrast to what the learner will be exposed to during instruction, a learning aim explains what the learner will know or be able to do following the learning experience.

Estimate how much time you will spend on each learning activity as you plan them.

Finding out if your students are learning is made possible through assessment planning. Students have the chance to demonstrate and practice the knowledge and abilities outlined in the learning objectives through assessments (such as examinations, papers, problem sets, and performances), and instructors have the chance to give specific comments that can direct further learning.

After a lesson, there is an opportunity to reinforce what the students have learned. Instructors and students can both benefit from lesson closure. Hope you find this useful.

Here are some helpful hints for juggling many deadlines without becoming exhausted: Make sure you can actually see your workload, whether you write it down on a whiteboard or enter it into an app. You can use this to plan your timetable and break up the work at hand into more manageable chunks.

Organize your time by deciding what is urgent versus what is important, and then decide which projects will demand the most of your time, effort, and resources.

Try dividing up large projects into little chores if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the number of deadlines on your calendar. In this manner, you’ll remain on track to achieve your deadline and feel more driven to complete the task. I hope these suggestions prove useful.

When giving out assignments, teachers need to be especially careful. Students may tune out and refuse to complete their assignments if it is too difficult, or takes too long. Students’ homework assignments ought to build on what they have learned in class. Consider these suggestions on how to assign homework to make sure it is clear and appropriate:

1. Establish a regular homework schedule at the start of the school year, 2. Give the students tasks they can complete, 3. Give homework in small clusters, 4. The assignment should be written on the chalkboard and left there until it is due, 5. Periodically remind pupils of due dates, 6. Work together with other educators to avoid a glut of assignments.

This app has honestly helped me a lot these past few weeks into college, however I would like to see some quality of life changes. 1. When you are making a new assignment, I write the assignment then put the date, but then when I sort out to which subject it goes to, it changes the date. 2. I wish there was an hour before notification setting. 3. Some way to hide the completed assignments. Beside that, this app is hella amazing and I give many thanks to the developers.

great organization tool for school!

this is by far my favorite organization app for school since it keeps track of all assignments and exams sorted by class. I also love how you can also customize the color for each class. i also love how it syncs with both my phone and ipad. some suggestions for improvement: 1. there’s a glitch where it doesn’t let you change the date when creating an exam/assignment sometimes. it lets me edit it after the exam/assignemnt is created so i’ve just been doing that to bypass the glitch. 2. i LOVE using the widget because it helps me remember if i forgot to do something as i’m swiping through my phone BUT it’s bright orange (very ugly). please make it so that we can change the color of the widget or that it just sticks by light/dark theme selected on the app. 3. sometimes i can add notes on tasks and sometimes i can’t. idk what’s up with that 4. i wish i could change the icons for classes but it only lets me change colors — currently it picks icons for me based on the name of the class Overall, I love this apps concept and convenience but would suggest improvements for improving glitches and customizability.

Amazing App!

This app is everything I wanted in a planner! When looking for a planner, I wanted one that could separate assignments and exams to help me keep track of both. I also wanted mine to give me notification for when assignments were do which this does perfectly! The app also allows you to create multiple assignments for one assignment, so if you want to do 2 Math problems a day, you can set that up in the app! The only problem with the app is that I’ve noticed a new glitch where when making an assignment you can’t adjust the due date unless you make the assignment then click back into it then adjust it, but other than that it’s amazing!

Printable Homework Planners to Help Students Get Organized

If you’re a parent, you know how incredibly overwhelming it can be for students to stay on top of studying and all other homework assignments.

Especially when they’re juggling multiple classes.

Due dates can pile up quickly if they aren’t staying organized and managing their time wisely.

However, there is a tool that can be quite helpful – A printable homework planner! You’ll find a few different styles below.

Weekly homework planners

These free printables will help students plan and track all their assignments for each day of the week.

They can write down the class, a description of the homework assignment, and when it’s due. Once it’s completed it, check “done” and move on to the next!

I recommend printing a few copies at a time. Encourage your middle schooler or high schooler to keep one in their binder.

Monthly homework calendars

In addition to weekly planners , older students may benefit from a blank homework calendar as well.

It’s nice to have a bird’s-eye view of each month.

Some of these templates have extra lines below the calendar for writing down reminders and other misc. notes.

Monthly assignment and exam trackers

Some students may prefer a simple running list of what’s due each month.

With these trackers, they can write down the class, jot down a quick description of what’s due (whether it’s a basic assignment, project, or exam), and the due date.

And, of course, once the assignment is finished, they can mark done.

How to Use an Assignment Planner + a Free Printable!

I’m of two minds when it comes to school assignments. On the one hand, I often find them imposing and scary, especially when their due dates loom ahead and I don’t yet have any ideas. On the other, once I get going, I love the freedom and intellectual exploration that a good prompt or assignment brings.

Getting going is difficult, though! It can be hard to gather my thoughts and formulate them into a clear thesis or idea. Then, once I have the idea, it’s difficult to put it into action. That’s why I’ve put together an assignment planning sheet, which helps me focus on what’s important about an assignment, lets me brainstorm and come up with a thesis, and formulates a timeline for the assignment. Best of all, I’m going to share it with you. Here is a free assignment planner printable, and how to use an assignment planner! The download link is at the bottom of this post.

Here is how the assignment planner looks when it’s unmarked:

The first section is easiest; it’s just the basic information about the assignment and when it’s due. For the sake of this blog post, let’s say that I’m working on an essay for my English class, which is due in a little over 3 weeks.

Next, I’ll make a list of my resources in the upper-right hand corner of the page. Examples of resources include primary sources (like the book you’re studying, or a historical text), secondary sources (commentaries, papers, journal articles, and books about what you’re studying), articles online, and class notes. For this paper, my resources include 3 primary sources ( Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Mansfield Park ) and three secondary sources.

Next up is brainstorming and mind mapping! For the printable, I refer to this joint process as “brainmapping,” which is actually the term for mapping out different regions of the human brain. Think of this as you brain storming your ideas, and mapping those ideas out on paper to get a clearer idea of what they are. Here is the “brainmap” for our English paper.

As you can see, I have my topic of interest in the center of the map. Springing from that, I have different “branches” of related topics or ideas.

From my topic, “Education in Austen’s novels,” I mapped several branches. Above, you can see two of them. The first is how education is represented in the books; the second is access to education in Regency-era England. The first branch is thematic, the second is historical. That is totally fine! This is just a time for getting your thoughts onto paper.

Now is a great time to make an outline of your essay, using the “brainmap” you made. I go over how to outline an essay in my eBook, which you can buy here (I also have a free guide to essay-writing here ). Because of that, and because your own project may not be an essay, I won’t go into outlining in this post.

Next, we put together our to-do list and our schedule.

The first thing we’ll do is make a list of to-dos for the assignment on the left. They can be in any order; just come up with all the steps you need to get from this planner to the finished assignment. Write them down in the chart.

Now it’s time to put them in a schedule! This is incredibly important; most to do lists never get done because there is no timeline! Draft a timeline by writing down each of your to do’s in order. Now add a date in the left column of the chart. Make sure that you have enough time for each step, but also that you finish the assignment in time.

The last part of the page is a notes section. This is just for miscellaneous thoughts, like brainstorming your title or writing down the exact points you need to include in your work. I also included a line at the bottom for the completion date of your assignment.
