The Capstone is the final course in the M.S. Health Education and Promotion program. Through the completion of a Capstone project, students are provided an opportunity to synthesize knowledge and skills acquired throughout the entire course of study. The M.S. Health Education and Promotion Capstone project is designed to empower students with the skills necessary to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge, applied professional development, and scientific research in the planning of a health education program. The Capstone course will also address the Certified Health Education Specialist’s Seven Areas of Responsibility through targeted assessments and opportunity for reflection.

Live Writing Accountability Sessions

If you find yourself thinking: Writing is lonely, or I need help holding myself accountable to my writing assignments, you’re in luck! Join an OASIS Peer Mentor for a Live Writing Accountability session, where you can write independently in the company of other Walden students who are also working on their own course assignments and writing projects.

  • Each session begins with a welcome, brief conversation, and sharing of a personal writing goal that can be accomplished within the designated work time.
  • You’ll then engage in 80 – 90 minutes of focused, independent work time.
  • Each session concludes with self-reflections of goal accomplishment and resource sharing.

Are you a doctoral student working on your capstone? Are you tired of writing alone? Do you find it hard to motivate yourself to write? Are you stuck or struggling? If so, join a 60-minute Live Capstone Writing Session led by an OASIS writing expert! 

  • Each session begins with writing-related tips on topics such as overcoming writer’s block, writing with clarity and concision, and effective revising. 
  • You’ll then engage in 30 minutes of focused, independent work time.
  • Each session concludes with Q&A and check-in, where you can ask questions, share your progress, and celebrate achievements.
