It is of friendship, love, and hope that one should never let go. Alara is staying with her Dad in the Czech. She is a singer who writes her songs and plays them on a youtube channel. With that, because of her voice, she gained many followers. But Alara is missing her mom, Elisha, since childhood. She wanted to know about her. Where has Elisha disappeared? Aarav is a final-year engineering student who belongs to a middle-class family and doing an internship in a bank. He recently broke up with Tara which left him devastated. He had always wanted to become a stand-up comedian but could not because of his family’s wish. Rick the owner of Ricky's Beach Shack was once a drummer and was serving the nation on the border. He loved Elisha and played drum exclusively when Elisha sang in the shack. Meanwhile, in Rickey's shack, they choose people to perform whatever they are good at. So Aarav got the opportunity to perform there on Saturday night. Will they find Elisha? What might have happed to Elisha? To know the answers read this book. It's a beautiful book that will lead us to find our own worth. Characters and plots are amazingly placed and described. The language used is lunatic, easily understandable and quotes that are used by the author have a very deep meaning, you can easily relate to yourselves as well. I loved how the author narrated the story from the perspective of each character. One could relate to each of them, each one has a story to tell, a journey to witness.

My take on the book:
Elisha, pop sensation and queen of hearts from Goa, married a rich businessman from Czech and suddenly disappears after few years. Alara who believes Elisha is her mother goes back to Goa to search for her mother, as she still hopes she is alive somewhere, albeit under a hidden identity. Aarav, a young student from Goa who interns with bank to support his family financially and an aspiring standup comedian, hopes to meet Elisha at least once in his life after hearing about her in Goa. Ricky the old and crazy guy who is owner of Ricky’s Shack in Goa, friend of Elisha from childhood, wishes he never ever met her. What is the secret behind Elisha and who among these three will find her and how this search will change their lives forever forms the rest of the story.
The story is about Alara searching for Elisha and in the process meeting Aarav and Ricky among others in Goa, but at the end, each of them realize they are searching for something more than a missing person. And that is exactly what the title translates into — You live only once. Alara and Ricky steal the show with their strong characterizations and while Aarav starts off well, his character does not grow even though he is one of the three protagonists. Aarav lacks the layers that the other two have, may be since his life does not have as much pain and heart break as the other two go through.
Goa is the next major character is this story, as Goa and majorly Palolem beach are more than a backdrop and location; they are the soul of the book. The author has done an amazing job in vividly describing the locations to transport reader to a different world. This is the second outing of the author Stuti after her highly successful debut OTOR and I personally found her writing has grown exponentially. While the first half is perfect with unique characters, their struggles, in the middle of the picturesque Goa, the actual intent of finding Elisha slowly takes a backseat in the second half, as the characters and their internal turmoil take up the story.
The author weaves magic with her words, as the thoughts of Alara and Ricky are pure bliss; their thoughts and emotions are compelling. The quotes at the start of each chapter are interesting; Aarva’s standup acts though impressive could have been better presented. Pick this one for an enigmatic story that is coming-of-age filled with music, fun, love and much more. You live only once is an experience that every reader should drown in at least once.

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE, DAVID BRAVO
by Mark Oshiro ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 20, 2022
A joyful, surprising, time-traveling delight.
David Bravo is having the worst day ever when a time-traveling dog shows up and offers him a chance to do it all over.
Tuesday, Sept. 12, truly takes the cake as the most awful day of 11-year-old David’s entire life. It starts with him anxiously fumbling through his first middle school presentation about his heritage: He has a Brazilian and Mexican American father and a Japanese American mother from Hawaii, and he has difficulty explaining that he is adopted. This is followed by an embarrassing food-poisoning incident that ends with David’s causing an accident that hurts his best friend Antoine’s ankle during cross-country practice. His wish to redo everything is granted by the arrival of Fea, a talking, shape-shifting dog who says her new mission is to help David repair his timestream. His first thought is to fix things for Antoine, worried their friendship may be on the line, but when that doesn’t help, David and Fea end up going back and forth in time trying to make things right. This funny, brave, charming novel is packed full of delights. The plot goes to utterly unexpected and beautiful places in a journey about heritage, culture, choice, and, above all, love and connection. David learns to navigate the many aspects of his identity—his anxiety, his budding romantic feelings for Antoine, and his background as a Latinx by birth—and brings the entire well-developed, diverse cast of characters together while doing so.

CHARLOTTE'S WEB
by E.B. White illustrated by Garth Williams ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 15, 1952
The three way chats, in which they are joined by other animals, about web spinning, themselves, other humans—are as often...
A successful juvenile by the beloved New Yorker writer portrays a farm episode with an imaginative twist that makes a poignant, humorous story of a pig, a spider and a little girl.
Young Fern Arable pleads for the life of runt piglet Wilbur and gets her father to sell him to a neighbor, Mr. Zuckerman. Daily, Fern visits the Zuckermans to sit and muse with Wilbur and with the clever pen spider Charlotte, who befriends him when he is lonely and downcast. At the news of Wilbur's forthcoming slaughter, campaigning Charlotte, to the astonishment of people for miles around, spins words in her web. "Some Pig" comes first. Then "Terrific"—then "Radiant". The last word, when Wilbur is about to win a show prize and Charlotte is about to die from building her egg sac, is "Humble". And as the wonderful Charlotte does die, the sadness is tempered by the promise of more spiders next spring.

THE ONE AND ONLY BOB
From the one and only series , vol. 2.
by Katherine Applegate ; illustrated by Patricia Castelao ‧ RELEASE DATE: May 5, 2020
With Ivan’s movie out this year from Disney, expect great interest—it will be richly rewarded.
Tiny, sassy Bob the dog, friend of The One and Only Ivan (2012), returns to tell his tale.
Wisecracking Bob, who is a little bit Chihuahua among other things, now lives with his girl, Julia, and her parents. Happily, her father works at Wildworld Zoological Park and Sanctuary, the zoo where Bob’s two best friends, Ivan the gorilla and Ruby the elephant, live, so Bob gets to visit and catch up with them regularly. Due to an early betrayal, Bob doesn’t trust humans (most humans are good only for their thumbs); he fears he’s going soft living with Julia, and he’s certain he is a Bad Dog—as in “not a good representative of my species.” On a visit to the zoo with a storm threatening, Bob accidentally falls into the gorilla enclosure just as a tornado strikes. So that’s what it’s like to fly. In the storm’s aftermath, Bob proves to everyone (and finally himself) that there is a big heart in that tiny chest…and a brave one too. With this companion, Applegate picks up where her Newbery Medal winner left off, and fans will be overjoyed to ride along in the head of lovable, self-deprecating Bob on his storm-tossed adventure. His wry doggy observations and attitude are pitch perfect (augmented by the canine glossary and Castelao’s picture dictionary of dog postures found in the frontmatter). Gorilla Ivan described Julia as having straight, black hair in the previous title, and Castelao's illustrations in that volume showed her as pale-skinned. (Finished art not available for review.)

Book Review: You Only Live Once by Lonely Planet
Travel books are one of those things in life I can’t resist. And I’m not talking about travel guides, or journals, or all of those sensible kind of travel books. I’m talking about those coffee table hardback beauts that you can flick through for a quick dose of wanderlust, or pour over for hours planning an adventure.
So when I discovered ‘You Only Live Once’ by the backpacking giants that are Lonely Planet, I had to give it a read.
Unlike other books of this kind, which are normally broken down into different countries and the sights you can see in each place, this book is based more on experiences. So each chapter is the length of time the experience should take from an hour to a year!
So what kind of experiences are we talking about here? Well, they range from the bucketlist activities we all want to do, like going on safari, learning a new language and embarking on an awesome road trip; to the more niche and alternative experiences like building your own cabin, becoming a world champion at something and climbing a volcano. Because why not, right?
But the best thing about this book is that each experience will give you several suggestions of where you can go to do it! So you want to learn to fly a plane? Here you’ll find recommendations in the USA, Iceland and Canada. You want to stay in a monastery? How about Belgium, Nepal or Italy?
I think this would definitely be handy when you’re planning a round the world trip. Sometimes there’s an experience you want to incorporate into your trip but it’s not always possible to add certain countries into your flights without spending the big bucks. This way you can see if there’s anywhere else in the world to experience the activities you’re after, in more accessible countries.
Definitely perfect for those of you in the early stages of planning a big trip, when you’re not sure where to start. You’ll get a feel for what kind of things you want to do and the best places to do it. Get ready for extremely itchy feet.
This bad boy is £22.99 and you can yours on the Lonely Planet website here or on Amazon here:
Overall, a great copy to pop on your coffee table and consult the next time you’re craving an adventure. Lonely Planet sure are clever, aren’t they?

This looks really interesting. I would love to check it out.
I would definitely recommend it 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
No problem at all!
Oh I love a travel book! I don’t have this one though… yet!
It’s a good one! X
Ooh I keep pondering over whether to buy this one – you’ve sold me!! I’ve also recently got LP’s Beautiful World book and Ultimate Travelist and I am obsessed with them!
Oh I haven’t read those ones, I’ll have to take a peek! 🙂

"A brilliant homage to everyone's favorite super-spy, and a hilarious, action-packed, made-for-the-movies thriller about a man suavely dancing along both sides of the thin line between heroism and madness." –Matt Forbeck, New York Times bestselling author of Halo: New Blood
"A James Bond parody that delivers plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, pulse-pounding action scenes and biting social commentary." –BestThrillers.com

About the author
Haris orkin.
Dear reader:
I was a shy, skinny, bookish, bespectacled, and insecure twelve-year-old living in the suburbs of Chicago when I first realized what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to be Alexander Mundy in It Takes a Thief. I wanted to be James West in The Wild, Wild West. I wanted to be James Bond. Those men had no fear. They were confident in any situation and were comfortable in their own skin. I think that was the biggest fantasy of all for an awkward pre-teen struggling through puberty and that’s what inspired You Only Live Once. At age twelve I lived a life of perpetual embarrassment. In hindsight, that’s probably how most twelve-year-olds feel, but at the time, I didn’t know that.
So I started lifting weights. I boxed. I studied karate. I became a rock climber and learned to scuba dive. I even studied in London for a year and traveled the world. But I never did become an international super spy. Instead, I became a novelist, a screenwriter, a playwright, and a WGA and BAFTA Award-nominated game writer known for Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Mafia 3, and Dying Light. Please connect with me on Facebook and feel free to ask me anything. This is a two-way conversation.

Haris Orkin has produced a rip-roaring tale of derring-do by a highly unlikely and slightly eccentric character.
