Paint your palms orange and press your palm prints on the top section of the paper. Repeat the same on the bottom section with green paint. To create the Ashok Chakra, paint your palms blue and place your palm impressions by going around like the hands of a clock. Erase the pencil lines and your beautiful chart is ready for display!       

2. Tricolour Recipe

Let’s get creative and patriotic in the kitchen! This activity is great fun for children of all ages. Younger kids can arrange salads or fruits in the design of the tricolour. Older kids can try their hands at frosting a cake with three colours. And, children ready to try some more elaborate recipes can try a rice arrangement with portions of Schezwan rice, plain rice and coriander rice, or a pasta serving with a tomato-based sauce, cheesy sauce and pesto sauce to get the all the three colours on a single serving dish. You will find a host of child-friendly recipes online!  

3. Mono Act Skit   

If you love acting, here’s a fun activity for you. Prepare a mono act for performing for your family, at school or in your society Independence Day celebration. Brush up on your history lessons and enact an inspiring event of the freedom struggle while playing the part of a freedom fighter of your choice. Learn some of their inspiring speeches to perform as part of your act. You can choose events like the Dandi March and Salt Satyagraha, Bhagat Singh’s attack on the Britishers, Mangal Pandey’s rebellion, or Jawaharlal Nehru’s famous speech announcing India’s independence. The stage is all yours!   

4. Dumb Charades with Patriotic Movies  

Independence Day is a holiday for the entire family! How about getting together to do play some fun games like Dumb Charades! Each member of the family has to act out the name of a movie while the others try to guess.    

5. DIY Tricolour Badge   

Prepare a badge that you can pin up on your shirt to show your love and pride for India. You will need a card paper cut into a small circle for the base of your badge. Cut out small strips of orange, green and white ribbon. Fold the ribbons in half. Paste the orange ribbons along the edge of the circle. Now, leave some gap and start pasting the white ribbon a little below the orange. In the innermost circle, paste the green ribbons. In the space left in the centre, write down your name. You can also paste orange, white and green ribbons dangling from the bottom of the badge, and it’s ready to wear!     

6. Parade  

An Independence Day parade can be a great way for children to bring out their patriotism. Schools can organise a parade where children of every class form groups and march in coordination. The practice for the march will be a good physical exercise and children will get a chance to feel nationalistic pride.    

7. Singing and Dancing Competitions  

Children can be engaged in preparing dance performances celebrating the cultural diversity of our country. They can also learn patriotic songs and participate in singing competitions in school. This will help them learn about the country’s rich heritage, showcase their talents and express pride for India.

On Independence Day, 15th August, Indian superiors proudly announced the freedom of the Indian nation by firstly hoisting the Indian flag on the Red fort and became the biggest vote-based system nation on the planet. Independence day is like our country’s birthday, and we celebrate it every year with pride and remember the unforgettable sacrifices of the great freedom fighters of our country. This day is celebrated as the national holiday in India. Many schools, colleges, organizations, associations, government, and private administrative offices celebrate this day with pride by hoisting the flag, marches, and doing many of the social works in the whole country. Our Indian prime Minister hoists a National flag on the Red Fort and addresses the whole country with his speech. 

We salute our great warriors, real patriotism inside their hearts, and their unforgettable sacrifice for the nation. India became the strongest United and democratic nation globally, and unity between every Individual Indian with diversity shows India’s real and fundamental strength. Every school, college, institution, and administration are decorated with small flags and programs were taken, national flash hoisted, National Anthem and patriotic songs singing by the students, parades taken by the scout and NCC cadets. Sweets and chocolates were distributed among the students. Everyone in India feels happy and lives their life in peace. All this has happened because of the sacrifice of the freedom fighters. The 15th of August, 1947, is a very important day in the history of our country. It was on this day that India became independent. Therefore, this day is celebrated every year with great pomp and show all over India.

On this day our first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, unfurled the National Flag at the Red Fort for the first time. All the people, irrespective of their caste, colour and creed, celebrate this day every year amidst great rejoicings. People hold meetings, fly the tricolour and sing the National Anthem. This day is also celebrated in school and colleges.

In Delhi, this day is celebrated with great enthusiasm. People in large numbers gather in the Parade Grounds, in front of the Red Fort. There is a great hustle and bustle everywhere. They line up all routes leading to the fort and eagerly wait for the arrival of the Prime Minister. The foreign ambassadors and dignitaries also participate in the celebrations. The Prime Minister unfurls the National Flag. A Guard for Honour is given by the local police and army. A salute of 31 guns is fired. The military band plays the National Anthem. Then the Prime Minister delivers a speech. Homage is paid to those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. After the Prime Minister’s speech, the function comes to an end with the recital of Jana Gana Mana and the crowd begins to melt away.

Thus, Independence Da y reminds us of those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the motherland.

15 अगस्त, 1947 वह तारीख है, जो भारतीय इतिहास में सुनहरे अक्षरों के साथ अंकित है। यह वो दिन था जिसके बाद पहली बार भारत के लोगों ने एक स्वतंत्र देश में सांस ली। यह वो दिन था जब भारत के लोगों को उनके वाजिब अधिकार मिले, या फिर यूं कहें तो यह वो दिन था जिस दिन इस देश की मिट्टी, धूल, नदियां, पहाड़, जंगल, आबोहवा और बच्चा-बच्चा आजाद हुआ था यानी सीधे शब्दों में समझें, तो हमारे देश भारत को इसी दिन 200 साल के अंग्रेजी हुकूमत से आजादी मिली थी। मगर इस एक आजादी को पाने के लिए हमने लंबा संघर्ष किया। इसके लिए कई लड़े, कइयों ने हुकूमत के अत्याचारों का सामना किया, कइयों ने चोट खाई, कई शहीद हुए, कइयों ने मुस्कुराते हुए फांसी के फंदे को चूम कर गले से लगा लिया, तो कइयों ने अपना पूरा जीवन, अपनी पूरी जवानी इस आजादी को पाने में झोंक दी। भारत माँ के इन सच्चे सपूतों के त्याग तथा बलिदान के कारण स्वतंत्रता का सपना साकार हुआ। भारत के मिट्टी के लालों और ललनाओं की इसी सरफ़रोशी की नियत की वजह से ही आज हम सब सिर उठा कर खुली हवा में लहराते हुए तिरंगे को देख पा रहे हैं। तभी तो 15 अगस्त, 1947 का जिक्र होते ही गर्व से हर भारतीय का सीना चौड़ा हो उठता है।

प्रत्येक वर्ष भारत में इस दिन लालकिले के प्राचीर से देश के प्रधानमंत्री तिरंगा फहराते हैं। इस साल यानी कि साल 2023 में जब प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी लालकिले पर तिरंगा फहराएँगे, तब भारत अपनी आजादी की 76वीं वर्षगाँठ मना रहा होगा। साल 1947 में भी जब 15 अगस्त को हमारा देश आजाद हुआ था, तब भारत के पहले प्रधानमंत्री श्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू ने लालकिले पर तिरंगा फहराया था और तब से ही यह परंपरा आज तक चलती आ रही है। बोर्ड परीक्षा कार्यक्रम
