PRC Room Assignments for August 2023 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exams

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces the list of room assignments for the August 5-6, 2023 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam for testing locations in Manila/ National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga days before the licensure exams.

The licensure exams for Mechanical Engineering and Certified Plant Mechanics were administered by the PRC and Board of Mechanical Engineering headed by its Chairman, Engr. Leandro A. Conti and its members, Engr. Jerico T. Borja and Engr. Lorenzo P. Larion.

Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam Coverage

I. MECHANICAL ENGINEERS EXAM COVERAGE

Examination Attire

Male examinees are required to wear a white polo shirt with a collar (without any seal, logo, or mark) and decent pants or slacks.

For female examinees, a white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark) and a decent skirt or slacks.

What to bring?

Don’t forget the following on examination day:

• Notice of Admission (NOA)
• Official Receipt
• Two (2) or more pencils (No. 1 or No. 2)
• Ball pens with BLACK ink only
• One (1) piece long brown envelope
• One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
• Health forms
• Negative RT-PCR Test Results, if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine

Examinees are not allowed to bring books, notes, or similar items in the examination room. Programmable calculators, as well as electronic gadgets such as Apple and Samsung products, are not allowed either. Bags of any kind are also not allowed inside the examination premises.

Precautionary Measures

The following precautionary measures shall be observed during the conduct of the Mechanical Engineering Board Exam:

• Wearing of face mask and face shield
• Sanitizing using alcohol and hand-based sanitizers whenever necessary
• Physical Distancing of one (1) meter at all times
• Those with fever and cold are not allowed to take the exam
• Observe proper hygiene at all times

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

• Official Receipt of payment of application for examination
• Notice of admission
• Two (2) or more pencils (No. 2)
• Ballpens with black ink only
• One (1) piece long brown envelope
• One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
• Health Forms (Pursuant to Joint Administrative Order No. 01 (s 2021))
• Negative RT-PCR Test Results,  if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine or Certificate or copy of Vaccination Card for fully vaccinated examinees to the proctor on the examination day.
• Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula 
• PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATORS, especially CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus
• CELLULAR PHONES, EARPLUGS, TRANSMITTERS, PORTABLE COMPUTERS, SMART WATCHES, BLUETOOTH and other electronic gadgets/devices which may be used for communication purposes.
• Any type of bag
• Other examination aides not stated
• For male examinees, a tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark) paired with decent pants or slacks.
• For female examinees, a tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark) paired with decent pants or slacks.

During the PRC licensure exams, the following precautionary health and safety rules must be followed at all times:

• Observe physical distancing of at least two (2) meters between examinees.
• Examinees shall be restricted to their assigned seat;
• Wear face mask (at least 3-ply surgical mask, preferably N95 mask) and face shield at all times; 
• Bring 70% ethyl alcohol for hand disinfection;
• Avoid close contacts like “beso-beso”, hugging, handshake, and directly touching other persons;
• Avoid touching one’s eyes, nose, and mouth;
• When sneezing and/or coughing, facial tissues must be used to wipe the nose and mouth areas. Dispose of used facial tissues properly; and
• Avoid spitting in public, on floors, and along corridors.

ROOM ASSIGNMENTS: November 2023 Civil Engineer Licensure Exam (CELE)

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases the room assignments for the November 2023 Civil Engineer Licensure Exam (CELE)  a few days before the examination.

This year’s second Civil Engineer Licensure Exam (CELE) will be conducted on November 17 & 18, 2023.

Room Assignments

Below are room assignments for the November 2023 Civil Engineer Licensure Exam (CELE) :

• Manila – Added to the list
• Manila – PWD
• Cagayan De oro
• Lucena – Added to the list
• Oriental Mindoro
• Oriental Mindoro – Added to the list
• Pampanga – PWD
• Rosales, Pangasinan
• Tuguegarao – Added to the list

Examinees shall report before 6:30 in the morning on the said date because latecomers will not be admitted.

Things to Bring Examination day

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

• Notice of Admission
• Official Receipt
• One (1) piece of metered-stamped window mailing envelope
• Two (2) or more pencils (NO. 2)
• Ball pens (black ink only)
• One (1) piece long brown envelope
• One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
• Health Forms (Pursuant to Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)
• Negative RT-PCR Test Results, if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine (Pursuant to Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)

Dress Code on Examination Day

Here are the specified dress codes from PRC:

• For male examinees, tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks
• For female examinees, tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks

Prohibited Items Inside the Exam Rooms:

• Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded information or formulas
• Calculators which are programmable or with embedded functions, especially CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus
• Apple, Samsung and other smart watches, cellular phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, Bluetooth and other electronic devices which may be used for communication purposes;
• Bags of any kind (place your documents inside the transparent/plastic envelope)
• Other examination aides not stated in this program

All personal belongings of the examinees shall be surrendered to the proctor and shall be placed in a secured space within the examination room.

The rules on the conduct of bodily search, an inspection of personal belongings of the examinees, and the seizure/confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57, s. 2020) shall be strictly observed.

Exam Coverage

The November 2023 Civil Engineer Licensure Exam (CELE)  will cover the following topics:

• Mathematics, Surveying and Transportation Engineering (algebra, plane and spherical trigonometry, analytics, descriptive and solid geometry, differential and integral calculus, highway and railroad surveying, plane topographic and hydrographic surveying, advanced surveying, design and construction of highways and railroads, piers, ports and wharves)
• Hydraulics and Geotechnical Engineering (fluid properties, hydrostatic pressures, fluid flow, buoyancy and flotation, relative equilibrium of liquids, hydrodynamics, water supply soil properties, soil classification, fluid through soil mass, stresses in soil mass, soil strength and tests, bearing capacity, compaction, consolidation and settlement, lateral earth pressures and slope stability)
• Structural Engineering and Construction (engineering mechanics, strength of materials, theory of structures, analysis and design of concrete, steel, timber structures and foundation with the application of the governing codes of practice)
• Program for November 2023 Civil Engineer Licensure Exam (CELE)  from PRC.

Description: We are seeking candidates to join our Design Engineering team as well as a cross functional team of interns from all Engineering areas formed to address real business issues. Individuals must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work under compressed timelines.

Design Engineering:

Support mechanical engineering staffs by performing basic engineering assignments in the design, development, and production of high volume radio frequency connectors, cable assembly and wiring harnesses. Typical engineering assignments include 3D model creation, 2D drawing updates, development of validation test plans, design tolerance analysis, and mechanical and electrical product testing.

Cross Functional Team Project:

Responsible for executing a well-defined project to be implemented at the end of the assignment. The opportunity allows individuals to be self-guided, independent and have a tangible impact on the organization. Interns will be assigned mentors from the departments they represent. Members of the management team are on hand to provide guidance, and are highly visible. They will be tracking progress on the project throughout the internship program.

Previous program participants completed an inter-departmental project establishing a process to address movement between production locations of a global manufacturing operation. Phases of the project included interviewing various process owners, establishing a baseline for the existing process, understanding and prioritizing key areas for improvements, drafting and finalizing an improved process and providing training to key personnel. The project was successfully concluded with an in depth presentation to the General Manager and Director level staff.

Requirements: At least two years undergraduate courses completed; preferably in Mechanical Engineering, plus a strong interest in working in a manufacturing environment and/or experience working with electronic components.

ME RESULTS: August 2023 Mechanical Engineering Board Exam, CPM Passers

MANILA, Philippines – The August 2023 Mechanical Engineer (ME) and Certified Plant Mechanic (CPM) board licensure exams results, including the complete list of passers, top 10 examinees, and overall performance of schools, are released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Mechanical Engineering in four (4) working days after the last day of exams.

As announced, 2,133 out of 4,237 (50.34%) successfully passed the mechanical engineering board exams, while 104 out of 187 (55.61%) hurdled the certified plant mechanic licensure exams. “The results of examination with respect to five (5) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.”

The Mechanical Engineering board exams were conducted on August 5-6, 2023, at PRC testing centers located at Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.

The Mechanical Engineering exams were administered by the Board of Mechanical Engineering headed by its Chairman, Engr. Leandro A. Conti and its members, Engr. Jerico T. Borja and Engr. Lorenzo P. Larion.

Release of Results

According to PRC Resolution No. 1589 series of 2022 entitled “ Schedule of the Licensure Exam for the Year 2023 “, the August 2023 Mechanical engineering board exam results will be released on August 10, 2023. We also advise everyone to bookmark this page and follow us on our social media channels for the freshest updates on MELE results 2023. Stay tuned future MEs!

Meanwhile, PRC may also release the mechanical engineer licensure exam results in August 2023, earlier or later than the estimated date, without prior notice.

Schedule of Registration

The schedule of online appointments for issuance of Professional ID and Certificate of Registration for the new Mechanical Engineers will be held on the following date(s):

Initial registrants are advised to register online via PRC official website https://online.prc.gov.ph/ and follow the steps in online registration. Here are the registration requirements:

• Notice of Admission/NOA (for identification purposes only)
• Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
• Two (2) pieces of passport-sized ID photos on white background with the complete name tag
• Two (2) sets of documentary stamp
• One (1) piece short brown envelope

PRC added that successful examinees shall personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Verification of Rating

The verification of ratings and test results for the August 2023 Psychometrician licensure exams will be available online a few working days after the posting of results.

Successful takers can refer to PRC official website and use the Verification Page to know their board examination passing rate.

As posted, a passer shall only provide the exam name, the date of examination, the application number, first name, last name, and birth date.

Oath-Taking Ceremonies

All successful examinees interested in attending the face-to-face mass oath-taking shall register no later than 12:00 NN of the day before the date of the oath-taking at http://online.prc.gov.ph to confirm their attendance.

Further, inductees shall bring ANY of the following on the day of the oath-taking:

• Vaccination Card
• Negative RT-PCR results took within 48 hours before the oath-taking

Inductees are advised to register and confirm their attendance in the regions where they took their licensure examination and intend to register as professionals.

The details and exact date(s) of whether the oath-taking will be conducted face-to-face or virtual/online will be provided here or on our FB page.

Mechanical Engineering Board Exams Summary (Stats)

The mechanical engineering board exam is one of the programs with an average number of examinees conducted by the PRC.

In the most recent ME held on February 2023 , 3,774 out of 6,070 (62.17%) examinees passed. Reynell Villanueva Sanchez from Rizal Technological University topped the exams garnering a rating of 94.90%, followed by Mark Francis Manalad Sedano from the Technological University of the Philippines – Manila, 94.30%. University of Science & Tech of Southern Philippines CDO was the top-performing school with a 100.00% passing rate.

On August 2022 , 3,184 out of 5,880 (54.15%) passed. Franz Joshua Geronimo Pingol from Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Main Sta. Mesa ranked first at 95.35%, followed by Jasper Berlon Mijares from Rizal Technological University at 94.40%. Batangas State University – Alangilan was the top performing school having a 94.19% overall passing rate, followed by De La Salle University – Manila, 89.58%.

On February 2022 ME, 2,121 out of 3,780 (56.11%) examinees passed. Mark Anthony Salazar Arcayan from Visayas State University – Baybay ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 96.60%, followed by Mark Allen Gabutero Armenion from the University of Cebu, having 95.70%. Bohol Island State University – Tagbilaran was the top performing school garnering 90.70%, followed by Batangas State University – Alangilan having 89.20%.

On August 2021 , 247 out of 621 (39.77%) examinees passed. Nathaniel Beaver Apostol Mendoza from Saint Louis University ranked first in the exams garnering a rating of 90.05, followed by Christian Justin Musni Sese from Saint Louis University having 89.90. Ateneo de Davao University and the University of Mindanao – Davao City shared the top spot in the top performing schools’ list, having all their examinees passed.

During February 2020, 1,334 out of 3,469 (38.45%) examinees passed. Glemar Ojendras Guarin from the University of Southeastern Philippines Davao City and Juluis Ezra Macasaet Gundran from De La Salle University – Manila shared the top spot having 91.30% rating, followed by Edrian Pamintuan Laki from Holy Angel University having 90.05%. Batangas State University – Alangilan Campus was the lone university in the top performing schools’ list (with 50 or more examinees passed), having a 92.55% overall passing rate.
