Are you thinking about travelling with friends? Travelling with friends can be an amazing experience, and can really solidify a friendship.

But it can also break a friendship if you don’t figure out how to communicate and compromise on the road.

You should definitely travel with friends at least once in your life. But there are many advantages and disadvantages of going on holiday with friends to consider first.

So let’s weigh up the pros and cons of travelling alone vs with friends before you commit to a holiday together!

Advantages of Travelling with Friends

1. share beautiful moments with your besties.

I mean, could you ask for more? When you consider the advantages and disadvantages of travelling with friends, this is definitely one of the biggest pros.

Travelling with friends is something so special that you can look back on when you’re old and crusty.

And if you’re lucky enough to still be friends then it will be all that much more special.

2. Peace of mind

If you’re travelling with friends, you’re not travelling alone, which might help put all your families’ minds at ease.

And knowing you are with someone you will be a bit more confident and you will feel a bit safer, as well.

Plus if anyone hurts you, you know your friend will kick their arse!

Travelling with friends might be especially beneficial if this is your first time travelling.

3. Common Interests

One of the biggest advantages of traveling with a group of friends is that you are all likely to share a few similar interests.

This means you should be able to pick things to do that you will all like, rather than bicker at each other constantly about which monument you want to see.

4. Cost-Effective

When considering the advantages and disadvantages of travelling with friends, money is bound to come up.

But the good news is that it’s often cheaper travelling with friends!

For example, it is usually cheaper (or the same price) to stay at a hostel in your own double room rather than paying for 2 single beds in a dorm.

You can also cut your costs by sharing essential travel services like a portable Wi-FI device or a VPN for Hot Spot users.

If you are trying to save money with food, it will be cheaper to go to the supermarket and get the ingredients to cook your own food.

Splitting that in half will make it cheap as chips!

5. Collaboration

You can collaborate and share your skills with each other. For example, one of you might have saved up a bunch of miles by using a travel rewards credit card.

The best travel credit cards  offer rewards like free flights for every dollar spent on everyday purchases.

Or, one person might be really good at directions and the other might be good at picking restaurants.

If you combine your skills you’re more like to have a hassle-free trip!

📸 PRO TIP: My go-to camera for all my travels is the Sony A7iii – I highly recommend it!

6. Good support bubble

One of the disadvantages of travelling alone is that, out on the road, it can get lonely, especially if you’re travelling for a longer period of time.

So one easy benefit of travelling with friends is that there’s always someone there to keep you company.

Sharing meals and private jokes, witnessing beautiful moments together, that’s what going on holiday with friends is all about!

One of the other advantages of travelling with friends along similar lines is that you’ve also got a support group with you.

No matter if you’re at work doing the daily grind, or out travelling with a friend, life is going to happen.

If something happens to you, or to someone you care about, your travelling buddies will be on hand to help you through in any way they can. If they’re true friends that is!

7. Someone to take photos

Ever been in a situation where you’ve wanted to get the perfect shot but all you can manage is an arm-wrenching selfie? Or set up your camera on a timer only to have it fall over at the crucial moment?

Well, this is why travelling with friends is better! Now you can be perfectly placed without having to put distance between you and your camera, or struggle with a selfie stick.

Admittedly you might have to return the favour for your travelling friend, but you’ll both get great-looking memories out of it!

8. Take turns doing activities for security

If you’re in a cafe or a restaurant, and you want to have a bathroom break, one thing you don’t want to do is have to bring your day bag or backpack with you.

This is where going on a trip with friends can really pay off. While one of you leaves the table, the other can keep an eye on your things, so you don’t have to do any unnecessary juggling.

This also applies to leaving your towels on the beach, keeping your table saved while one of you orders food/drinks at a bar, and so on.

Leaving a place that you’ve saved to go get something, only to come back and find someone else has taken it – or that the bag you left to hold it is missing – is one of the worst things ever.

But no one asks themselves “why travel with friends?” when they help you manage to keep hold of a prime spot of holiday real estate!

Disadvantages of Travelling with Friends

1. increased tensions.

Being together all the time could cause tension which may lead to arguments and might just sour the holiday if you let it fester.

Luckily, because you’re friends already you’ll hopefully talk it through and get over it in a day or two, so don’t let that put you off travelling with friends.

2. Different interests

Just because you’re friends doesn’t mean you share ALL of the same interests or have similar travel styles.

One of the biggest disadvantages of going on holiday with friends is that at some point you will likely disagree on what exactly you want to do.

You might want to see different attractions, do different activities, or even travel at different speeds.

3. Isolation

You may isolate yourself with your best friend which means you miss out on meeting some awesome people.

Having conversations with the locals and other random people is something that everyone should do while travelling.

But by having another person with you, you may find yourself just talking to your friend and not making an effort to talk to anyone else.

4. Different travel styles

Your plans might change and you just want to travel to a different part of the country while your friend might want to stay. This is not necessarily a bad thing.

You can always meet up in a week or so and part your separate ways, so you can both explore where you want.

It’s okay to compromise because you do not want to regret not seeing or doing something because of someone else’s view and unique travel style

pros and cons of group travel, group of four friends sitting on a wall overlooking water

5. Third wheel syndrome

If you’re travelling with multiple friends – especially an odd number – there’s also the potential someone will wind up feeling left out.

Unless you’re a contrarian, no one wants to be the odd one out. But that can happen when a group of travelling friends has different interests, styles or tastes.

It’s an introvert’s nightmare to find themselves on a group holiday where everyone wants to go out dancing and drinking all night.

And plenty of teenagers have experienced the disadvantages of travelling with family when the younger siblings drag them and the parents to something unbearably childish.

Whatever group you’re in, there’s always a chance that the others will all want to do something that you have no desire to do yourself. Bring a book or some headphones just in case, maybe?

6. Might not be enough space in some places

More people means more beds or rooms needed, more seats on buses, planes and trains, and more available tickets at the activities you all want to do.

It’s one of the unavoidable logistical disadvantages of travelling in a group.

If it’s just you, there’s either enough space for you, or there isn’t. When you’re in a pair or a group and you find yourself one space short, things can get awkward.

It might mean that you all have to look for something else to do or somewhere else to stay. It might mean someone gets left out, or forced to stay in a different hostel. Even worse, that might be you!

why travelling with friends is better, group of four friends laughing in a greenhouse

7. Differing dietary requirements

You might have a friend that you do everything with, and who is on exactly the same wavelength as you, but who has different dietary requirements to you. This can lead to problems on the road.

In fact, certain dietary requirements might alter where you can eat and even where you can travel to at all.

Say one of you is vegetarian, and one of you is lactose intolerant. Either one of those dietary requirements might close off a part of the world to you, due to the culinary norms of some countries.

It’s almost impossible to avoid meat or fish in some rural areas of the world, and it’s hard to avoid both meat AND dairy in some countries such as Albania , for example.

If you and those you’re travelling with have more than one set of dietary needs, then you might find that your options for where to go on holiday with friends are more limited.

Luckily, more and more dietary options are becoming available around the world, especially in major cities.

But if even one member of your party has specific dietary requirements, it might take some extra planning ahead of time, and may even mean you miss out on trying all the local cuisine.

8. Different expectations & wealth levels

Sometimes having rich friends is great. Sometimes it can cause a lot of tension in a group.

This can happen if your holiday gang ends up visiting expensive sites, dining at high-end restaurants, or staying in five-star hotels.

Not everyone can afford to throw as much money around, and sometimes not everyone can speak up against it with a cheaper alternative. It’s hard when it feels like you might “spoil the fun.”

This one won’t apply to everyone, but if there is a significant wealth gap amongst any of your travel companions, it is worth remembering.

Tips for travelling with friends:

1. practice local languages together.

When visiting a country that speaks a different language, it is always useful to have some key words and phrases in that language available to you.

From being able to ask where the airport is, to a simple “hello,” “please” and “thank you,” knowing some local lingo can prove very valuable.

One of the benefits of travelling with friends is that you can practice these phrases amongst yourselves without having to try them out on a local for the first time.

It can be embarrassing to trip up linguistically, especially if you need their help! Practicing new languages while travelling with friends will help you get by better.

2. Discuss & set out personal boundaries

Right from the outset, especially if you’re travelling with friends for the first time, it can be a good idea to set some personal boundaries. Sometimes, it can actually be essential.

It’s a lot harder to break a habit that’s already being formed than to set it straight before it starts.

If you’re travelling together, a lot of the time you’re sort-of living together. Plenty of people who move in with friends find out that they have habits or practices that are wildly different from them.

So setting up some guidelines or rules beforehand can save everyone from potential future arguments or embarrassment.

Even working out a “safe word” or phrase that implies that you feel unsafe or that you need some space – but without having to say it out loud – can sometimes be a good idea.

3. Make some set plans ahead of time

Even when you’re travelling on your own, it pays to plan ahead. This is even more true if you’re travelling with friends or family.

Making sure there’s something on the itinerary for everyone is a good step towards making sure everyone has a good time. But of course, not everyone’s idea of a good time is the same.

Sometimes one of the disadvantages of travelling with friends is that there’s so many of you that you all want to do different things.

By making sure there’s time set aside for everyone to do their own thing, you can take some of the pressure off of the group.

It may well be that most or all of you end up doing the same thing in your separate time – I guess it depends on how well you’re all getting on!

4. Share emergency contact info with each other

When thinking about the pros and cons of group travel, you can’t ignore the possibility of an unexpected emergency.

Should an accident happen, it’s important that your group be able to get in contact with whoever you need to in an emergency, especially if the person in trouble can’t give you the information.

For example, what happens if you’re on a hike and your friend falls and hits their head? If you don’t know who to call, they’re not in a position to tell you!

By sharing emergency contact information – which may include different embassy or foreign government contacts if you’re on holiday with an international group – you can avoid being caught out in a tight spot.

advantages and disadvantages of travelling in a group, two women and two women having fun and laughing with mountains in background

5. Play to each other’s strengths

I find that when you’re travelling with friends, there’s sometimes a tendency for everyone to want to do everything.

Everyone wants to be the navigator, everyone wants to drive, everyone wants to lead the group. If you know that someone is better qualified, let them take that role if they want it!

It can be infuriating to find yourselves being led into the unknown by an enthusiastic amateur when you happen to be travelling with a trained hiker/tracker, for example.

If someone has the skills, let them pay the bills as it were. Your talents will come into play at some point on your journey, don’t worry!

Frequently Asked Questions

I personally prefer going on holiday with friends. With friends, you often have similar interests and more say in what you want to do.

If you travel with friends you will have a built-in support system, which can be especially beneficial if you are shy or this is your first time travelling. But travelling with friends is also a wonderful bonding experience!

It can be difficult to travel with people – even good friends – and spend all of your time together. The longer the trip and the more disparate your travel styles, the more likely you are to have disagreements.

Editor’s Note: We know that many of you are looking for help writing travel experience essays for school or simply writing about a trip for your friends or family. To inspire you and help you write your next trip essay—whether it’s an essay about a trip with family or simply a way to remember your best trip ever (so far)—we enlisted the help of Professor Kathleen Boardman, whose decades of teaching have helped many college students learn the fine art of autobiography and life writing. Here’s advice on how to turn a simple “my best trip” essay into a story that will inspire others to explore the world.

Welcome home! Now that you’re back from your trip, you’d like to share it with others in a travel essay. You’re a good writer and a good editor of your work, but you’ve never tried travel writing before. As your potential reader, I have some advice and some requests for you as you write your travel experience essay.

Trip Essays: What to Avoid

Please don’t tell me everything about your trip. I don’t want to know your travel schedule or the names of all the castles or restaurants you visited. I don’t care about the plane trip that got you there (unless, of course, that trip is the story).

I have a friend who, when I return from a trip, never asks me, “How was your trip?” She knows that I would give her a long, rambling answer: “… and then … and then … and then.” So instead, she says, “Tell me about one thing that really stood out for you.” That’s what I’d like you to do in this travel essay you’re writing.

The Power of Compelling Scenes

One or two “snapshots” are enough—but make them great. Many good writers jump right into the middle of their account with a vivid written “snapshot” of an important scene. Then, having aroused their readers’ interest or curiosity, they fill in the story or background. I think this technique works great for travel writing; at least, I would rather enjoy a vivid snapshot than read through a day-to-day summary of somebody’s travel journal.

Write About a Trip Using Vivid Descriptions

Take your time. Tell a story. So what if you saw things that were “incredible,” did things that were “amazing,” observed actions that you thought “weird”? These words don’t mean anything to me unless you show me, in a story or a vivid description, the experience that made you want to use those adjectives.

I’d like to see the place, the people, or the journey through your eyes, not someone else’s. Please don’t rewrite someone else’s account of visiting the place. Please don’t try to imitate a travel guide or travelogue or someone’s blog or Facebook entry. You are not writing a real travel essay unless you are describing, as clearly and honestly as possible, yourself in the place you visited. What did you see, hear, taste, say? Don’t worry if your “take” on your experience doesn’t match what everyone else says about it. (I’ve already read what THEY have to say.)

The Importance of Self-Editing Your Trip Essay

Don’t give me your first draft to read. Instead, set it aside and then reread it. Reread it again. Where might I need more explanation? What parts of your account are likely to confuse me? (After all, I wasn’t there.) Where might you be wasting my time by repeating or rambling on about something you’ve already told me?

Make me feel, make me laugh, help me learn something. But don’t overdo it: Please don’t preach to me about broadening my horizons or understanding other cultures. Instead, let me in on your feelings, your change of heart and mind, even your fear and uncertainty, as you confronted something you’d never experienced before. If you can, surprise me with something I didn’t know or couldn’t have suspected.

You Can Do It: Turning Your Trip into a Great Travel Experience Essay

I hope you will take yourself seriously as a traveler and as a writer. Through what—and how—you write about just a small portion of your travel experience, show me that you are an interesting, thoughtful, observant person. I will come back to you, begging for more of your travel essays.

8 Vital Reasons Why You Should Travel With Friends

Post Summary: 8 convincing reasons why you should travel with friends , and the benefits that come with it.

Who is your go-to travel companion?

A spouse? A best friend?

For us, something special happens when we travel with friends. Berty and I believe that it adds a deeper layer and more experiences to the relationships we keep.

So, while solo travel has its benefits, we’re here to tell you in this post why we love group travel!

8 Reasons Why You Should Travel With Friends

1. traveling with friends brings deeper relationships.

By the end of your time together, you will probably have seen your friends in all their forms.

Waking up in the morning, grumpy and tired in the evening, and exhausted from long plane transfers. But, you will also get to see them at their very best!

The opportunity to see them in so many different scenarios is rare when you’re at home. When you travel together, you can begin to know a truer form of your friends!

2. It’s Cheaper To Travel With Friends

When you travel with friends, the entire adventure is more affordable!

For example: squeezing 5 into a hotel room splits the accommodations five ways. You can also cut down on transportation, food, and other costs.

I feel like this one is a win/win, everyone gets to be with their friends, and you get to do more for cheap!

3. You Can Pack Lighter

When I (Emily) went backpacking with my friends in the Cascades, we split up carrying things like tent pieces, cooking supplies, and safety equipment.

Just like backpacking, the more people that come with you, the more ways you can split up the gear. Everyone carries less!

If you’re a real packing overachiever *guilty* check out our post about packing light to really cut down on baggage !

4. You Will Have More Pictures To Share

Traveling with friends means there is always a photographer ready to capture a moment!

It also means you’ll be in more pictures too! Make a rule to be unabashed with any photos, so people have the freedom to catch all the candid moments.

You can laugh about them all later!

5. You Will Have The Ability To Try New Things

There will likely be someone in the group who is more adventurous than the rest.

This friend will encourage you to get outside of your comfort zone and take risks! Whether it be trying new foods or going down a zip line like this one – that extra push is all you need to make lasting memories.

6. When You Travel With Friends, It Makes Layovers/Travel Time More Bearable

I think it’s safe to say that most people prefer a traveling companion on long road trips.

It’s nice to have a friend to switch being the driver, and sing along to your favorite songs!

In addition, international transit can be tiring and confusing, so it can be comforting to have people to gripe and complain with you. 🙂

7. You Share Skills + Knowledge

When you travel with friends, you don’t have to be an expert on every little thing.

There will most likely be a friend who dreams up fun activities, the one who keeps track of spending, the one who loves to cook, etc.

Collectively, everyone gains from each others’ strengths! (For me, I love being a part of anything breakfast, especially coffee!)

8. Traveling With Friends Provides Different Perspectives

I (Emily) have never been one to actively seek out new foods to try.

I’d rather spend my time checking out beautiful landscapes or structures! However, our friend Jeff loves cooking.

When in Bali, we sought out a Night Food Market for the purpose of experiencing all that the Island had to offer! I would have never thought to appreciate the cuisine as much if Jeff wasn’t on the trip!

Would you ever travel with friends? I encourage you to reach out to them and plan a trip, even if it just means brunch down the street! Tell us your plans in the comments below!

Traveling With Friends, Relatives or Alone

Tastes differ, and people choose different types of time destinations during their vacations. The companions for traveling are one of the most important factors influencing one’s mood during the vacations. Traveling with friends, relatives or alone helps to escape from the everyday working routine and encourage the holiday-makers for the further work.

Young people prefer to travel with friends, it is exciting to have a kindred spirit with you for sharing the emotions from the places visited and the sites observed. Feeling at ease in the company of the closest friends a traveler enjoys all the possible time destinations which can be offered to the holiday-makers. Having much in common and lots of topics for conversation with friends may brighten up the negative sides of the trip.

For example, it is the collective spirit that determines the general mood of the traveling. Different situations may occur during the trip, such as lost luggage or the delayed train, bad weather, or unexpected disease, it is very important to keep one’s presence of mind under these circumstances. Choosing the attitude to the events one chooses the impressions which the trip will produce. Bad company is much worse than rainy weather or stolen case. Nothing will save the holiday spent with a boring interlocutor or depressed and complaining fellow. Choosing the companions for a would-be trip it is very important to bear in mind that the interests and lifestyles of the travelers should coincide.

It is necessary to analyze several points, concerning the coincidence of the interests to check the compatibility of the friends on the conditions of the trip. Thus, income level, physical activity, and personal preferences should be taken into consideration before buying the tickets. American comedy film Eurotrip depicts the traveling of several friends in European cities. Alec Berg, the main character of the film was supported by his companions and they were united by the shared goals and interests. A vacation spent with friends will bring lots of positive emotions on the condition that the interests coincide.

Family rest may bring the relatives together, as enjoying themselves during the holiday, they can see one another from the new sides and refresh one’s feelings. To begin with, the family is supposed to have a common budget and the question of the income may be omitted. The next point is that the relatives know each other interests and living with dear and near people will accelerate the process of adaptation to the new place and surroundings, while the holiday-makers are expected to spend about a week getting accustomed to the new place, water, and conditions.

Family members know the interests, weak and strong points of one another; nobody will show new unexpected traits of character and spoil the vacation. On the other hand, it is difficult for the parents to travel with their children, as it is much easier for the kids to get into trouble in an unknown place and it is harder for the adults to watch them being overburdened by other traveling issues. Home Alone with Macaulay Culkin is a wonderful example of all the disadvantages of family rest when the adults busy with the vacation arrangements can forget not only their luggage but even a small child alone at home.

Sometimes being sick and tired of one’s working routine, a person may prefer to travel alone or even to stay alone at home during the vacation to have a good rest and analyze one’s way of life. Periods, when a person needs to pause and think one’s life over, may become important life crossroads. The decision to stay at home during the vacation may depend upon numerous factors, starting with lack of money for the traveling of one’s dream, poor health, and period of depression or inability to find a good company for the traveling. The Holiday with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, and Jude Law demonstrates how vacation spent alone in a new place can change the views and the way of life.

Traveling with friends, family or alone have their advantages and disadvantages, the choice of the would-be companions is an important point in the vacation planning.

Unforgettable Experience, Trips & Memories With My Friends Essay

The student reflects on the importance of friends in our lives, recalling his own experiences shared with them. From engaging conversations to memorable trips, he details how a friendship can bring meaningful joy and comfort that lasts beyond any momentary pleasure or adversity.

Table of Contents

Essay 1: My Friends

Having friends to share our laughter, tears, and adventures with is something we often take for granted. As a student I was lucky enough to make some of the best pals around who have helped form me into the person I am today – truly invaluable!

My friends are my sounding board; I can always open up and share whatever is on my mind, from silly secrets to life-changing dreams. They pick me up when things get tough and cheer for me even louder than I do whenever I reach a milestone! With them by my side, every day of life becomes an adventure full of joys big or small.

an essay about my friends

My friends are a beautiful bouquet of uniqueness – a diverse array of personalities, passions and capabilities. But the most precious petals in this bunch have to be their kindness, loyalty and unwavering support for me through thick and thin!

Spending quality time with my friends is an absolute blast! From playing sports, to watching movies and discovering new places, it’s never a dull moment. Even when we don’t agree 100%, our friendship always manages to pull us through whatever challenge comes its way.

I’m continually blessed with the most remarkable friends who constantly encourage and support me through thick and thin. They lift my spirits, help make me a better version of myself, as well as motivate me to really reach for all that life has to offer, it’s truly priceless! For this beautiful friendship we share, I am forever thankful- cherished moments together are something no one can ever take away from us.

From bouncing laughter to unflinching support, friends are the ultimate source of comfort and joy. And I’m so glad for mine -: they make life a blast! What would we do without them? So let’s take this moment to appreciate our connections with each other; it is these relationships that bring us such immense happiness.

Essay 2: Unforgettable Experience with My Friends

My friends are the greatest blessing I’ve ever received! Last summer, we decided to take a break from everyday life and sneak away into nature. We all loaded up on camping supplies – tents, food you name it – before setting off for our adventure in the woods. It was an unforgettable experience that none of us will soon forget!

After a long day of fun and exploration, our group found ourselves huddled around the campfire. We swapped stories and shared plenty of laughs as we cooked marshmallows to perfection over the crackling flames! Plus, who can resist hot chocolate on a chilly evening? Needless to say, it was one for the books – an unforgettable night that I’ll cherish forever.

We kicked off the morning with a plunge into icy lake waters, but nothing could dampen our enthusiasm for this special adventure. With sun-kissed faces and hearts full of happy memories, we departed – each one looking forward to many more days just like this!

Essay 3: The Last Time I Saw My Friends

It was an unforgettable party night with my crew! We celebrated the occasion with dinner and karaoke. All of a sudden there was a pandemic. Dinner is forever etched in our memory as a special time that we all share.

Then everything changed. A pandemic hit and we were all stuck at home. We had to cancel all plans and meetings. It was hard not being able to see my friends, but I kept in touch with them through social media and video calls.

We will meet again when the situation improves. I can’t wait to see my friends and catch up on everything that has happened to her this past year. I miss her.

Essay 4: An Adventure Trip with My Friends

Last summer, I went on an adventure trip with my friends. We decided to take a road trip to explore the countryside. We rented a van and packed up. We were so excited to start our journey.

I had a great time hiking, exploring new places, and enjoying the beauty of nature. It was the perfect mix of adventure, fun and friendship. We clicked lots of pictures, played games, and sang songs around the campfire in the evenings.

On the last day, we exchanged presents and thanked each other for making wonderful friends in our lives. Traveling was not just about having fun. It was about creating memories to cherish for a lifetime.

In summary, an adventure trip with friends is one of life’s most beautiful experiences. It helps you relax, reconnect with nature, and strengthen your bond with your friends. I am blessed to have wonderful friends who always inspire me to explore new horizons and make the most of life.

Essay 5: I Love My Friends Essay

Friends are the most important part of our lives. They are the ones who stand by us through thick and thin, and we can always count on them to be there for us. I am lucky to have such amazing friends in my life, and I am grateful for each and every one of them.

My friends are my support system, and they are always there to cheer me up when I am feeling down. We share many memories together, from fun nights out to heart-to-heart conversations over coffee. No matter what we are doing, we always have a great time together.

One of the reasons I love my friends so much is that they accept me for who I am. They never judge me, and they are always there to offer a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. We may have our differences, but we always find a way to work through them.

Another reason I love my friends is that they make me a better person. They inspire me to be my best self, and they encourage me to pursue my dreams. I am constantly learning from them, and I know that I would not be where I am today without their love and support.

In conclusion, I love my friends more than words can express. They have brought so much joy and happiness into my life, and I am truly blessed to have them. I look forward to creating many more memories with them in the future and am grateful for the wonderful gift of their friendship.

500 Words Essay on Adventure Trip With Friends

The joy of adventure trips.

Adventure trips are journeys filled with fun and excitement. They offer a chance to explore new places, experience different cultures, and face challenges that test our courage and teamwork. An adventure trip with friends is even more thrilling because we share these unique experiences with people we care about.

The first step in any adventure trip is planning. This includes choosing a destination, deciding on the dates, and figuring out what to bring. For example, if the trip is to a mountain, we need to pack warm clothes, hiking boots, and equipment for climbing. If it is a beach, we need swimsuits, sunscreen, and beach games. It is also important to plan meals and accommodation. This process can be fun, especially when friends are involved, as everyone can contribute their ideas and suggestions.

Travelling Together

Travelling with friends is an adventure in itself. The journey to the destination can be filled with laughter, games, and shared stories. Whether it’s a long car ride or a flight, the travel time gives friends a chance to bond and create memories. It’s also a time to enjoy the scenery and anticipate the adventure that awaits.

Adventure Activities

Once at the destination, the real adventure begins. This could involve hiking, rafting, exploring caves, or even bungee jumping. These activities are not just thrilling but also help us learn new skills. For example, hiking teaches us endurance, rafting improves teamwork, and bungee jumping tests our bravery. Participating in these activities with friends makes them even more enjoyable because we can cheer each other on and share the excitement.

Overcoming Challenges

Every adventure trip has its challenges. It could be a difficult hike, bad weather, or getting lost. These situations can be scary, but they also provide opportunities for problem-solving and teamwork. With friends by our side, these challenges become less daunting. We can rely on each other for support and encouragement, making the adventure trip a bonding experience.

The best part about an adventure trip with friends is the memories created. Every shared experience, whether it’s a beautiful sunset, a challenging climb, or a funny mishap, becomes a memory that friends can cherish forever. These memories strengthen friendships and remind us of the fun and excitement we had during the adventure trip.

In conclusion, an adventure trip with friends is a thrilling and enriching experience. It offers a chance to explore new places, face challenges, learn new skills, and create lasting memories. Despite the challenges, the joy of shared experiences and the bonds formed during the trip make it all worthwhile. It’s an adventure that leaves us with stories to tell and a stronger friendship to cherish.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Table of Contents

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 1

Traveling is one of the most exciting experiences one can have in life. It allows us to explore new places, meet different people, and create unforgettable memories. My recent adventurous trip was one such experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. The trip involved hiking through a dense forest, crossing a river, and reaching the summit of a mountain, where I enjoyed a breathtaking view. Despite facing challenges such as unpredictable weather and rough terrain, the trip was a memorable and rewarding experience. In this essay, I will share my experience of this adventurous trip, highlighting the challenges, the exhilarating moments, and the memories that I will cherish forever.

Our trip started with hiking through a dense forest. The forest was full of tall trees, colorful flowers, and chirping birds. The trail was steep and rocky, and we had to be careful while walking. The forest was so dense that we could hardly see the sun, and the air was full of freshness. We had to take breaks in between to catch our breath and hydrate ourselves. As we walked, we could hear the sound of a river, and after a few hours of hiking, we finally reached the river. The river was wide and had a strong current, and we had to cross it to continue our journey. We had to be careful while crossing the river, and we held hands to maintain our balance. The water was cold, and we could feel the current pushing us, but we made it to the other side, feeling proud of ourselves.

The highlight of our trip was reaching the summit of the mountain. The climb was steep and exhausting, but the view from the top was worth every effort. From the top of the mountain, we could see the entire valley, and it was a sight to behold. The sky was clear, and the sun was shining brightly, making the view even more beautiful. We took pictures and sat there for a while, enjoying the serene beauty of nature. We could hear the sound of birds and feel the cool breeze on our faces. It was a moment of pure bliss, and we felt grateful for being able to witness such a beautiful view.

Despite facing challenges such as unpredictable weather and rough terrain, the trip was a memorable and rewarding experience. We had to face unexpected rain and strong winds, which made the climb more challenging. We slipped a few times, but we managed to keep going, motivated by the thought of reaching the summit. The journey was long and tiring, but the memories we created were worth it. We bonded with our fellow travelers, shared laughter, and created memories that we will cherish forever. The trip taught us to be resilient, to push ourselves beyond our limits, and to appreciate the beauty of nature.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to explore the beauty of nature, push my limits, and create memories that I will cherish forever. Hiking through a dense forest, crossing a river, and reaching the summit of a mountain were challenging but rewarding experiences. Despite facing unpredictable weather and rough terrain, we persevered and created memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. The trip taught us the importance of resilience, perseverance, and appreciation for the beauty of nature. It was an experience that I will always treasure and would love to relive again.

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 2

My adventurous trip was an experience of a lifetime. It was a chance for me to step out of my comfort zone and explore the great outdoors. The trip was filled with activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking. The beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings made the trip memorable. Overcoming challenges such as inclement weather and physical exertion added to the sense of accomplishment and adventure. In this essay, I will share my experiences of this unforgettable trip.

Hiking was one of the most exciting activities of the trip. We started our hike early in the morning, and the trail was challenging, but the view was worth it. The trail led us through dense forests, and we saw wildflowers, butterflies, and birds along the way. We stopped for a break at a small waterfall, and the sound of the water was soothing. As we continued our hike, we came across a steep incline, which was physically demanding, but we pushed on. At the peak, we were rewarded with an incredible view of the valley below. The sense of accomplishment we felt after completing the hike was indescribable.

Camping was another activity that added to the adventure of the trip. We set up our tents near a lake, and the view was breathtaking. We spent the night sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories. The night sky was clear, and we saw countless stars, which was a beautiful sight. The next morning, we woke up early to go kayaking on the lake. The water was calm, and we saw fish jumping out of the water. We even saw a family of ducks swimming nearby. Kayaking was a peaceful and relaxing experience.

The trip was not without its challenges, however. We faced inclement weather during our kayaking, and it was physically demanding. The waves were strong, and the water was choppy. We had to navigate our kayaks through the waves carefully. At times, it was nerve-wracking, but we were able to push through and complete the activity. Overcoming these challenges added to the sense of adventure and accomplishment.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an experience that I will cherish forever. The activities such as hiking, camping, and kayaking, the beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings, and the challenges we faced made the trip unforgettable. It was an opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone, explore the great outdoors, and create memories with friends. I hope to have more opportunities like this in the future.

My Adventurous Trip Essay Example 3

Going on an adventurous trip is an experience that many people crave. It is an opportunity to explore new destinations, push oneself to the limit, and create unforgettable memories. I recently had the chance to embark on one such journey, and it was an experience that I will never forget. My adventurous trip involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall. Along the way, I encountered challenging terrain and had to navigate through rough terrain. Despite the difficulties, the stunning views and sense of accomplishment made the trip a truly unforgettable adventure. In this essay, I will describe my trip in detail, highlighting the challenges and the rewards that came with it.

The first part of my adventurous trip involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall. The trail was not well-marked, and the terrain was challenging, consisting of steep inclines, muddy patches, and slippery rocks. The dense foliage made it difficult to see the path ahead, and we had to rely on our instincts and map reading skills to find our way through. The forest was alive with the sounds of birds and small animals, and the air was fresh and invigorating. As we got closer to our destination, the sound of rushing water became louder, and we knew we were getting close. Finally, after several hours of hiking, we arrived at the waterfall, and the sight before us was breathtaking. The waterfall was a powerful force of nature, cascading down from a height of over 100 feet. The water was crystal clear, and the surrounding rocks were covered in moss and ferns. It was a sight that made all the hiking and exertion worth it.

The second part of my adventurous trip involved navigating through rough terrain. The terrain was rocky and uneven, and we had to be careful not to slip or fall. At some points, the trail was so steep that we had to use ropes to climb up or down. The weather was also unpredictable, and we had to be prepared for sudden rain or wind. Despite the challenges, the sense of adventure and excitement kept us going. We were a group of friends, and we encouraged and supported each other along the way. We shared food and water, helped each other over difficult patches, and cheered each other on when we reached a milestone. The journey was not just about reaching the destination; it was also about the bonds we formed and the memories we created.

The final part of my adventurous trip was the sense of accomplishment that came with it. After several hours of hiking, navigating challenging terrain, and enduring unpredictable weather, we finally reached our destination. The feeling of standing in front of the waterfall, surrounded by the beauty of nature, was indescribable. It was a sense of accomplishment that came from pushing ourselves beyond our limits, from facing our fears and overcoming them. We took pictures, laughed, and savored the moment. It was a feeling that stayed with us long after the trip was over. The adventurous trip was not just a physical journey; it was also a journey of the mind and the spirit.

In conclusion, my adventurous trip was an experience that I will never forget. It involved hiking through a dense forest to reach a remote waterfall, navigating through rough terrain, and the sense of accomplishment that came with it. The trip was challenging, but it was also rewarding. It reminded me of the beauty of nature, the importance of perseverance, and the power of friendship. It was an experience that taught me to appreciate the simple things in life and to embrace the adventure that comes with it.

The Crazy Adventure Of Travelling With Friends

72 Hours In Barcelona The Crazy Adventure Of Travelling With Friends

WHAT A RIOT!

Travelling with friends is a whole different dynamic than travelling with family or with a partner.

It seemed unavoidable that our trip turns was going to be filled with a  series of mishaps, complications, and unending laughter.

It is a crazy adventure and one that I have not experienced in a while.

The last time I went on a trip with friends was in May 2011….come October 2015, here we are, six friends heading out to Barcelona for a destination birthday. Four of us flew from Vienna, two from London.

The plan was to meet at Barcelona El Prat Airport, then head over to our Air BnB Apartment. Needless to say, our plans didn’t turn out to be so simple.

I left my darling hubby and little one and embarked on my two-hour flight from Vienna with two of my besties, and headed off to Barcelona. The flight was great. We talked for the duration of the flight even though it was 06:30 am and we said all we were going to do was sleep on the flight.

Arrival in Barcelona would bring on the adventure! We couldn’t find the rest of our “crew” at the El-Prat Airport. After almost two hours of searching, looking, turning on roaming, sending text messages, Whatsapp, Facebook messages in order to find each other, we finally made our way to the apartment. Got there at 11:30/12:00, our check-in was at 15:00, but at this point nothing could faze us.

We were hungry and ready for TAPAS TAPAS TAPAS!

It was 25 degrees (centigrade) outside, sunny, and I felt a sense of calm wash over me. I had hardly slept for three days before this trip, wondering if I was doing the right thing for leaving my baby at home for TWO NIGHTS!!!  I know it seems like a short time, but for a new mum, and likely all mums, the first time away from your child, no matter their age it was going to be tough!

So grateful for a supporting hubby who knew I needed a break. OK – back to the story.

We had lunch at Trobador  at Rambla Catalunya. For me, t he food was a 6 on a scale of 1-10.

It is at times hard to figure out how much food will actually be served on the Tapas plate. Having been to Barcelona before, I knew that at times all you get are little finger bites, other times it is a plate large enough food to fill you for a few hours!

Walked around, took pictures of some of the sights along the way, went back to our apartment and relaxed. Stopped briefly for our group selfie.

That night, after a few more miscommunication, false directions from the receptionist, and a crazy walk and taxi ride, we had dinner at Boca Chica , in the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample.

The website does not do the restaurant justice for its’ grandness, but definitely worth going to if you are ever in Barcelona.    Make reservations as you won’t be seated without.

This restaurant was a recommendation of a friend of a friend. The restaurant is very…..antique, unusual, and the bathroom is the best place in the establishment. Sounds crazy, but it is the truth!

I LOVED the tapas, however the main course was very mediocre. In my opinion…..overpriced, but worth it for the ambiance!

Boca Chica has four floors, we ended up missing out on a floor because the place is so big. We had drinks after dinner in the Lounge, which we confused for the Bar. Too many cocktails maybe – it did turn out to be the better choice though.

Did I mention that one of us set the menu on fire with the candle placed on the table? OH GOSH!

Beautiful Barcelona At Night

Our last  day in Barcelona was spent sightseeing on the Hop On Hop Off bus, which was a great way to see the main sights of the city. There are two routes, East and West, so depending on what you want to see, you make your choice.

We chose the East Route which takes you to the Gothic Quarter, the Aquarium, the seafront, Agbar Tower, the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell.

Of course, you cannot visit Barcelona without seeing the Sagrada Familia !

Sagrada Familia

Sagrada Familia

Although the final stages of construction are still underway, the beauty of this building is beyond fascinating, over 100 years since its foundation stone was laid and 90 years after its designer, Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi died.

We also visited the Park Güell which is absolutely gorgeous if you visit on a day with great weather and sunshine. Greeted by the Gaudí dragon fountain at the entrance, you can take a beautiful walk through the park with stunning gardens and amazing scenery.

We met this guy on the way up – he insisted on a kiss – this is a close as he got.

Did you notice that he is just sitting there in the air?

park guell sitting in the air - travelling with friends

Once you get to the top the park, you find a terraced area with a wonderful view of Barcelona City.

We had a great day out, went on a quick shopping spree then headed back to our apartment.

Dinner was more relaxed as we were all exhausted. I decided on taking an early flight home on Sunday, I missed my boys too much. So first thing in the morning I headed back to Vienna, while the others stayed on for a last full day in Barca, before heading home on evening flights.

They had a blast at the beach – and I got to come home to hug and kiss my boys again.

I love Barcelona! The vibe and the city’s architecture are incredible. And with friends even better and more fun!

Traveling with friends can surely make or break the relationship. Stressful times can be difficult but so worth it to experience the world together!

' src=

This sounds like so much fun! I don’t have a kid of my own but I left my husband behind as I went to Tulum last year with my friends. I love him and the experience would have been wonderful with him there but there’s something special about sharing experiences with your friends. I’ve never been to Barcelona but I’ve always wanted to go!

' src=

Sounds like you had a great time! I always worry about setting menus on fire with those little candles, it’s hysterical that someone did that!

' src=

What fun you had traveling with friends. I haven’t taken a vacation in years!!!

' src=

I have the best memories of travelling with friends, definitely something I want to do again!

' src=

Travelling with friends is always fun. Especially when there are lots of different personalities.

' src=

I have yet to take a vacation with my friends. Isn’t that sad? But this post gave me lots of inspiration. Barcelona looks absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to visit. Thanks for sharing!

When you get a chance to vacation with your friends, you will have a blast Briana! Hope you get to do it soon.

' src=

Wow! Looks like it was an awesome time — not just visiting Spain, but spending time with your besties! I’m super jealous. Hopefully I can travel soon too!

' src=

I love travelling with friends! You make such fond memories and have laughs unlike any other 🙂 I enjoyed your photos. It looks like you had a wonderful time!

' src=

Traveling with friends would be a blast! I haven’t done it in years. This place looks fun! And now I want some tapas.

' src=

Traveling with friends is a very memorable moment. Sagrada Familia is love. I’d love to visit this one too with hubby. Me and my friends don’t always plan our vacay because the more weplan it, it is often cancelled ha-ha so when we’re all together that’s it we just decide on the spot where to go and that is always a crazy and fun bonding 🙂

' src=

Traveling with friends would definitely come with mishaps but tons of laughter as well! I myself tend to choose the group of friends I travel with because I prefer the on the go travel style whereas other friends of mine prefer the chill type of travel 🙂 I think it’s best to travel with people you’re sure to have fun with for the entire trip. Next step is to collect more travel buddies!

I agree! Traveling with friends will definitely come with mishaps but tons of laughter as well 🙂

' src=

I love how you enjoyed your trip with your friends. Been traveling with a friend also, and that what makes our travel trip so unique and memorable sometimes it is not the money you invest but the memories you treasured and share. Lucky you for founding your friends that you will really get along with and will love your company. Btw, I never been in Barcelona but when I will have a chance, will really go there.

' src=

Oh how I love travelling with friends. Given that you were able to do lots of stuffs. I think it was very amazing to have some time to walk together and have fun!

' src=

Traveling with friends is indeed fun and memorable especially if you are in a group and its your first time to visit such place. Its doubly fun with everyone in the group cooperate to try for the first time new delicacies or activities. Looks like you had such great experience. More travels to come!

Discovering new places with friends is indeed fun and memorable especially if you travel in group. It can be real enjoyable as well if you will do things for the first time like tasting new delicacy or trying the zipline, for instance.

' src=

Travelling with friends is certainly the best activity one can try. You don’t just travel with them but you make good memories too! How I wish my friends could spend at least a 2 day vacay abroad but unfortunately, it’s quite expensive. But if ever, I’ll surely grab the opportunity to spend time with them at least once in a while.

' src=

Boca Chica sounds super fun. The way you described it, seems that one visit is not enough. You and your friends looked like you had a blast. Trips are crazier and more fun when spent with friends.

' src=

I agree that travelling with friends are a lot more exciting! Me and my friends have plans to visit Baguio City here in the Philippines on July and we are pretty excited about it! Glad you had a great time!

Hi Ainie – I am so excited for you that you are going to travel with your friends, I would love to hear all about it when you are back. Have fun and take lots of pictures.

' src=

Hi, Sheri. What a nice adventure you had. More than anything else, it is the company of friends that makes your trip special. It is the mishaps that makes for endless tales later on in life. 🙂

Yes Robert – The stories we get to tell later are the fun parts because you get to travel back in time while telling the story and relive the mishaps and drama in a light and funny way.

' src=

I think traveling with friends is a lot of fun as long as you have common goals. If someone wants to shop while another person wants to go tour the country, I think that could be hard to have a really fun trip! I love being with people who have similar interests as I do so that I feel comfortable stating my opinion and seeing what I want to see. It sounds like you had a great trip with friends!

Yes Alison, this is one of those times when you have to choose your friends carefully. You cannot travel with certain friends, it will only bring stress and drama. Some friends are great to travel with because you are guaranteed an amazing time. You need to be free around those who you surround yourself with.

' src=

Wow! Looks like such an amazing trip! I haven’t tried visiting another country with a bunch of friends, I hope it goes smoothly though hehe. And I must say, Sagrada Familia WOW. Ommmyyy, we were meant to go here a few weeks ago while we were in Europe, sadly we didn’t get to stop by, such a shame! It would’ve been amazing 😀

You would have loved in Johna. If you get to go back, try to see it. The restoration might even be done by then!

' src=

Loved hearing about your trip, sounds like you enjoyed yourself for the most part! I would love to go to Barcelona one day! 🙂

' src=

That sounds really fun! I haven’t traveled with anyone else except for my mother when I was a kid, so it’s difficult for me to imagine. But Barcelona is a great city! Isn’t La Sagrada Familia amazing? Maybe you can bring your whole family when your son is older.

' src=

What a fun trip!

Holidays are events that virtually everyone looks forward to – particularly the ones in summer when the weather is favorable. Holidays come along with a lot of fun activities, but many young people believe that holidays spent with friends are better than those spent with family.

Writing about this topic wouldn’t be a first of its kind, as several articles, particularly in the education niche, have covered this topic. Actually it’s a popular essay topic among youth.

While a number of people prefer spending their holidays on their own, flying solo, this post is not targeted at them. This post focuses on addressing the common contention among students, especially teenagers, as to whether holidays are best spent with family or friends. Obviously, most will go for spending their holidays with friends since they pretty much see their parents daily and would prefer a fun summer away from their routine, with their friends.

This post would compare a typical travel experience with parents, then with friends and in the end, conclude from a neutral point of view, which is better.

A Travel Experience with Parents.

Apart from the traditional “You get to spend time with family!” remark which many essay writer services like CA.Edubirdie in Canada are usually writing about, holidays with parents afford a very good opportunity to actually relax – away from loud music, poor service, booze, etc. Vacations with family also create a bonding opportunity at a slower pace and in a new environment than you would normally have back at home. Given that you spend a lot of time in school, although doing a lot of essay writing, you see your friends quite often, and a family vacation would help reconnect with the family, which can become an absolutely refreshing experience.

When you spend holidays with family, you tend to create memories that will last a lifetime and will definitely spring up later during family dinners, reunions, etc. Vacations also help you see the world from a newer perspective – as a family, together. Together, you could pick up and integrate new cultures or routines that everyone loved on the trip and works for everyone. It is a good avenue for the family to learn from the experience gathered.

It is not an unknown fact that traveling is often expensive, but obviously, traveling with parents will reduce costs by a mile. All costs relating to transport, housing and food are usually taken care of by your parents if you are going on a trip with them. Big plus! If the vacation or travel involves shopping, then you just might get some free bucks to shop for yourself. It is a good way to have a whole new experience at little or no cost at all to yourself.

A Travel Experience with Friends.

Even before  embarking on the trip , the planning process for the trip itself is fun and you get to do that together with your friends. Making a list of fun events, writing about places to visit, things to be done, shopping for items, and the communication back and forth itself makes up half the fun of the whole trip, because of the excitement it builds.

Traveling with friends is a good way to actually have fun without any form of distractions. Most of the times spent with friends are either during work periods or when school is in session. Traveling or going away on a vacation really allows you to have all the fun you want to without having to worry about having to study, complete an assignment or a task at work. So apart from having fun, you get to do away with the everyday stress of school and work.

On  teenage holidays without parents , a lot more than fun memories are shared. Traveling with friends pushes you to be independent and exposes you to a whole new set of skills you may not have even known you had. Not only would you be having new experiences with the people and culture of your destination – the experiences of your friends backed up with their various cultures would add a whole new spice to the trip.

Lots of experts recommend that kids and teenagers are allowed to spend time with their friends, away from home, as it aids their development. On a trip with a couple of friends, you get to cross off a couple of things from your bucket list. Spending time away from your parents at a young age will drive you to try out new things you have always wanted to try, and who can better drive you to explore and try out new things than your friends?

travelling with friends essay

Tip : Not only would you be having new experiences with the people and culture of your destination – the experiences of your friends backed up with their various cultures would add a whole new spice to the trip. You can make sure you don’t exceed your budget with a prepaid debit card like one of the prepaid teen debit card options shown by Young Investors .

In conclusion, whether you spend holidays with family or go on teenage holidays without parents, both come with their own pros, cons and similarities. Both experiences can be insightful and empowerment to choose your own travel patterns. Traveling with parents can be essentially cheaper, but with friends could be more expensive although the option of sharing is available. Both experiences could also be fun depending on the context, so, in the end, it all boils down to interest and what every teenager or individual expects in a travel experience.

I guess I have to say “BOTH”. For me, traveling is tied in with looking for new experiences. Furthermore, these experiences become considerably more fun when you can share them with an old buddy.

Thanks Nicki

I love the idea of making life long memories with my family while on a vacation. Stories that we’d get to tell our friends about. Even better, stories that my grandkids will hear one day when I tell them about their parents when they were younger.

Travelling Alone or in a Group Essay

Which option is better: traveling by yourself or with friends? This essay answers the question! It focuses on the benefits and drawbacks of solo travel.

Introduction

  • Pros & Cons of Solo Travel

Different people have different opinions regarding their travel arrangements. Whereas there are individuals who prefer to travel alone, on the other hand, others are more comfortable travelling in a group. Regardless of the option arrived at there are various advantages and disadvantages associated with either of the two options.

There is need therefore to explore whether it is better to travel alone or with a tour group. The essay shall endeavor to compare and contrast travelling alone with travelling in a group and uncover the benefits and drawbacks associated with both of these two forms of travelling.

Travelling Alone or in a Group: Pros & Cons

Traveling in a group allows one to meet new friends and exchange experiences. This helps to add fun to travelling because of the many new ideas that the individual members of the group comes with. In addition, diversity in terms of the experiences of the travelers enables one to appreciate their unique cultural heritage.

On the other hand, travelling in a group denies one the chance of being alone because you are always surrounded by other people. As such, one cannot avoid annoying travelers and you have to learn how to deal with them. In contrast, traveling alone gives one the freedom to explore new experiences without restrictions. As such, can do what pleases him/her without fear that others will criticize him/her.

Travelling in a group also limits one’s chances of meeting new people because it is far much easier to approach an individual as opposed to a group. Travelling alone enables one to become flexible in terms of for example how you spend your day, or what you eat. However, there is the danger of boredom and you have no one to share your experiences with.

Travelling in a group is also beneficial in that it allows you to lower your cost of travelling. This is because there is the possibility of sharing such facilities as the guest room, splitting food and drinks bills, and travelling costs as well. For example, it is much cheaper for a group of 5 travelers to split the traveling cost of hiring a cab, as opposed o a single traveler who would be expected to pay a similar amount for the same distance.

On the other hand, travelling in a group could result in an issue of conflict when it comes to the issue of offsetting bills. For example, some members of the group may decline to pay the stipulated amount of money because in their opinion, they have not incurred the costs that they are expected to foot. In addition, travelling in a group also denies one the flexibility of choosing for example where to stay or what to eat because you have to reach a compromise with the rest of the group.

Travelling in a group therefore puts one in danger of falling prey to a “herd” mentality whereby one ends up agreeing with the wishes of the majority as opposed to saying exactly what you want. On the other hand, travelling alone gives one the needed freedom to choose what he/she wants.

Moreover, traveling in a group allows one to enhance his/her communication and personal relations. Consequently, one gets to learn how best to get along with others, and this ensures that throughout the trip, you are never lost for company. In contrast, there are individuals who do not generally get along well with others and as such, they prefer to remain alone. They are therefore better off traveling alone to avoid straining their communication and personal relations.

Whether one is traveling alone or in a group, there are various advantages and disadvantages associated with each of the two travel arrangements. Regardless of the choice that an individual traveler makes, one should always ensure that they settle on the option that will result in the most fulfilling experience.

Extract of sample "Traveling with Friends"

My travel companion is Stacy. I have chosen her because we have a lot in common. I would like to travel with her. My travel companion can be described based on market segmentation. In terms of geography, my companion can be categorized based on geographical variables. This includes region, nation, counties, cities, and provinces. My travel companion can be placed under the cities category. She loves traveling and traversing in different cities. This is ideal in the tourism sector given the diversity of the tourism sector.

Ideally, segmentation considers the preferences of the tourist and ensures their desires are fulfilled (Cook, Hsu, & Marqua, 2014). Equally, based on psychographics, my companion exhibits details that can be used in the marketing segment.  This is because of the various things we share. For example, the kind of music we love, the kind of people we hand out with, and we are outgoing.  The psychographic segment relates to the way people are grouped by observing their priorities, interests, and the way they live.

Ideally, it considers the lifestyle of a person.  This way, we could easily plan how we would spend on our planned travel.  The product-related variable is also used in marketing segmentation (Sallot, n.d.). I can describe my travel companion based on the categories by highlighting some of her desire. We wanted to spend economically, this way we would be categorized based on the amount of good or service offered and the degree of loyalty as a consumer. Additionally, my travel companion falls in the category based on the things we want to benefit from.

Our trip is entirely for pleasure, this way, my companion product-related segmentation will place her under the leisure category and ensure the products and services the client wants are fulfilling and benefiting the client (Cook, Hsu, & Marqua, 2014). The demography is important because of the information the service providers get. The tourism sector fulfills the desires of the travelers using the different demographic by categorizing each on the right group.  It is a significant process as the tourism firm ensures their marketing skills are broad and ensure they capture a lot of customers who have their desires fulfilled (Sallot, n.d.).

Additionally, their information can be used to target their wishes by offering products and services that they will make their travel satisfactory. The marketing strategy requires an appropriate approach that endeavors to meet the needs, wants, and expectations of the client. According to Figures 2-1, the first decision concerns laying commitment for the trip. This follows the decisions already made to travel. There are things to consider as we went through the first decisions, time, more, and effort were crucial in this category (Cook, Hsu, & Marqua, 2014, p. 38). This calls on the devotion to see the trip be a success.

The second decision considers the destination decisions. It also the purpose of the trip and consider the time frame that the travel could allow. This way, it helps in making the final decision by observing the variables. The third decision emphasis the commitment to travel. The process also runs by considering the things that are appealing to those traveling both individually and as a group. The fourth decision process tends to be conscious of previous commitments. It looks into the specific details that are crucial for the travel, for example, the time to spend during the travel, time to depart, and the kind of the destination.

Additionally, it considers the mode of transportation which will prompt the explanation of the cost, insurance cover to facilitate unforeseen circumstances, and the mode of booking rooms. The fifth decision analyses the decisions during the trip. Given the placed trip, it is important to know the means to use at the destination. Additionally, if there are reservations made, it is significant to make the theme clear early. Activities to conduct at the destination are also crucial to ensure satisfaction is redeemed.

The decision process depicts both benefits and challenges when chosen in the right category. Ideally, the benefits of the decisions process are the emphasis on preparedness. Additionally, it is beneficial as the details of the trip are highlighted hence easier to make decisions based on the things that motivate the traveler. However, it is challenging because of the many factors to consider. For example, time, destination services, and funds (Sallot, n.d.). The travel decision, for example, pushes and pull motivation describes our trip (Cook, Hsu, & Marqua, 2014, p. 41). We were compelled by our traits as we wanted to travel elsewhere to be out of the norm.

Additionally, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs places us at the belongingness needs. The results of our decision are based on the fourth decision.

6 Reasons Why You Should Travel with Friends

6 Reasons Why You Should Travel with Friends Image

Travelling to new places are some of the most rewarding experiences that we have.

Whether we go alone or with a big group of friends, it creates new ideas and experiences that we could never get at home. Whilst some people prefer to travel solo, there are many benefits that you can only get when travelling with friends.  COTA Holidays  organise trips for all sorts of travellers, but we often find that those who travel with friends say they wouldn’t do it any other way.

We have found 6 of the best reasons to consider travelling with friends the next time you head overseas.

Experience new things

When travelling by yourself, it can be very easy to find yourself doing very similar things in every place you visit. When travelling with friends though, they will often have their own activities that they want to try that you may not have previously considered.

A local cooking class, a hot air balloon trip or a day of horse riding along a beach could be the best experience about your holiday that you would never have tried if your friend wasn’t there to suggest it.

Forge stronger friendships

One of the best parts about travelling with friends is the stronger friendship that develops out of the experience.

You will share incredible and unique moments and learn new things together throughout your travels. You will be able to talk with them about it during the trip and for years to come. Even when things might go wrong, you will come through it together and be closer because of it. This can form the basis of a lifelong friendship and be the start of many more holidays together in the future.

Someone to talk to

Travelling is full of exciting adventures, new experiences and relaxing in paradise. However, it also includes long journeys between destinations, flight delays, broken down transportation and waiting in queues.

Having a friend to talk to can make this time more enjoyable, especially when you can talk about the things you have done and the places you are excited to travel to next. Whilst you could just read a book, often human company is exactly just what you need to make those boring situations fun.

It’s more affordable!

Travelling in groups can be much more affordable than travelling alone.

Booking out an apartment or holiday home can work out as much cheaper accommodation than if you were paying for a room yourself. Many activities often become cheaper when being booked by multiple people, and car hire becomes much more affordable when shared among friends. In addition, having a friend you’re comfortable enough to share a room with is a fantastic way to avoid having to pay the single supplement on your accommodation.

Share packing space

It can be incredibly annoying to get to the airport and find out that you will have to pay extra money to the airline because you have slightly over-packed your bag and it is too heavy. If you travel with a friend, you can share items such as toiletries, sunscreen, phone chargers and even certain clothes.

You might also find that your friend is one of those rare types of people who doesn’t pack the maximum amount of luggage allowed. As long as you aren’t carrying your luggage around all the time, they will likely be fine with you putting some of your clothes in their bag.

Safety and support

Travelling with others can offer an added level of safety compared to when you are travelling by yourself. If you are travelling to a country or city that has a relatively high crime rate, being with others can be a deterrent to criminals who might target you otherwise.

Even if you are going to a relatively safe place, a friend can be relied on to watch your bag and also remind you that cars drive on the other side of the road (trust us, everyone forgets this at least once).

Travel buddies also offer a level of support if something should go wrong during your travels. It can be easy to become frustrated and upset when problems arise, and friends can help you address the issue whilst also providing moral support.

If you want to find someone to travel with but don’t know where to look – maybe your friends and family have different destinations on their lists – check out our post for tips on how to find a travel buddy .

Essay on travelling

Traveling abroad for me was the practical application of what I had studied and seen in textbooks. I really enjoyed the experience of traveling and getting a little out of the environment in which I live.

I felt relaxed and a great change, as I had a lot of pleasure in the experience of booking online with my family, and seeing the places where we will stay and go to visit. A very different feeling when you participate in the event, and not only read about it.

On vacation last year, we booked tickets to travel to the city of ((type the name of the city)). This is a family trip intended for recreation and enjoyment, so all the days of the trip were very valuable and I and all my family members enjoyed going to the famous beaches and seeing the famous areas such as ((type the name of an area)).

I also had the pleasure of making friends while we were on the beach, and I found that technology is very wonderful because it helps us communicate despite the difference in language or the difference in the city.

I liked some things about this trip such as seeing some famous areas that I previously searched for homework. Seeing these areas in reality made them have a different meaning and a different vision, and they became engraved in my memory even stronger.

I also gained from this experience a lot of experiences, and I was able to gain confidence in several other aspects such as dealing with strangers, and how to get to know others. I hope to experience different regions and travel to it in the future.

Dream vacation essay

My dream is to travel to the Andes

I am eagerly awaiting the end of the year, because I have made a plan to spend the holidays with my friends. Vacationing with friends provides us with many adventures that we cannot do while we are with our family.

I love mountain climbing, it is a dangerous sport but I am fond of it because it gives me a feeling of strength and courage.

This sport activates blood circulation and strengthens the muscles of the arms and feet, in addition to it getting rid of excess weight, and making us more agile.

I have some friends who also practice this sport, so we will go together to one of the famous mountains that we can practice climbing on, such as the Andes in Peru, South America. Where this mountain range extends in seven countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Argentina,. Its height is approximately 6,961 meters.

I am very encouraged and feel it will be an interesting trip. We have prepared climbing equipment, climbing clothing as well, some food, water and tents. We take all safety precautions, and we will have an experienced mountaineering instructor with us.

Travel experience essay

I traveled to Tanzania

Traveling is my favorite hobby, so I take advantage of my summer vacation to practice my hobby. Sometimes I travel to another country and sometimes I travel to another state in the same country as mine. I love to discover places, customs and traditions.

At the end of last year, I traveled to Tanzania. It is an African country with the largest number of lions in Africa, with their number ranging from 15,000 to 16,000 lions, and most of them are in protected areas.

It was a wonderful experience to witness the life of lions closely, and to know their behaviour, it was an exciting journey where I had a great time in the lap of nature.

Being in nature and watching predators hunt their prey makes us feel the superhuman ability of man, as he can ward off these predators and control them.

Being in nature renews our activity and gives us many interesting information and exciting experiences that we can never forget.

Disneyland Resort Paris

There is no doubt that traveling is fun, especially if it is with our friends, but sometimes we go on adventures that we will remember for a lifetime.

And last weekend I went on a trip with my friends to Disneyland Resort Paris. It is the largest amusement park in Europe. It also includes two theme parks and seven luxury hotels.

There are all kinds of games and entertainment that you can think of. They are suitable for young and old, and the symbol of Disneyland is the sleeping princess’ castle.

Disneyland Resort Paris was opened in 1992 by The Walt Disney Company. And it has a huge number of activities and entertainment places, such as Adventure Island, Alice’s Wonder Maze, and entering special places for Disney characters such as the Sleeping Princess Castle, climbing on Thunder Mountain and others.

We also attended some wonderful shows that are held inside Disneyland, in addition to the parades led by famous Disney characters for an amazing trip to the land of Disney Paris.

Short essay on traveling

Traveling has many benefits, including getting to know the culture of other peoples. This is what I am keen on during my travels because getting to know the culture of others broadens our perceptions, and makes us more receptive to others and gain many experiences that benefit us in our lives in general.

I am a social person and I like to talk to people, so I am interested in talking to many people who meet me during my trip, and this makes me know their customs and traditions.

In addition, I have many friends around the world and we have a strong friendship. I contact them  on an ongoing basis.

Travel has gained me a lot of information and made me able to understand others. I respect their customs, even if they are strange to me. Traveling also makes me realize that all human beings love peace and freedom.

Travel broadens the mind essay

One of the most important benefits of travel is that it expands our perceptions and develops our minds, and this is because every country we visit we see something different, something we have not seen before, as we may witness an ancient civilization and be amazed at the progress and civilization reached by the ancients.

We may see a modern civilization with the latest factories, machinery and technological equipment, and cities built on the latest architectural style with high-rise towers and entertainment cities that include all modern games.

We may see museums, archaeological places or places of worship.

All this diversity makes us more aware that the world has a great diversity in culture, customs and traditions, and there is no one way of life, there are poor and rich countries, but all countries complement each other.

One of the benefits of travel is that we realize that life does not need conflicts, but rather it needs cooperation in order for humanity to progress and improve the conditions of human beings in all fields.
