15 Fun Virtual Classroom Games And Activities

One of the challenges that teachers often face is preparing fun and engaging games and activities for their students. With more and more schools transitioning to virtual classrooms, coming up with game ideas has become much more difficult.

The traditional classroom games that teachers are used to playing in class may not be possible while teaching online in a virtual classroom. So, we have put together a list of virtual classroom games and activities to help you out.

All of these games and activities can be played while teaching students online in a virtual classroom, and any materials we mention below can be downloaded and used in your virtual classrooms for free.

Virtual Classroom Games

1. quiz games.

Quiz games are a perfect activity for virtual classrooms. All students need is a pen and paper to write down their answers. There are many types of quizzes, but one quiz game that kids and teenagers really enjoy is the ‘top five’ quiz. In a ‘Top 5’ quiz, each question has multiple possible answers. For example, ‘Name a zoo animal.’. Then, students must write down one answer. Next, ask the students to show their answers using their webcam to the other students in the virtual classroom.

Once everyone has shown their answer, the teacher can reveal the ‘Top Five’ answers. If a student’s answer is the same as one of the ‘top five’ answers, then they get points. If they have an answer which is not in the top five, then they don’t get any points. Students really enjoy this game, especially when they get the number 1 answer. 2. Liar Game

This next virtual classroom game is great as an ice breaker and/or for getting to know your students. To play, first, choose a question to ask all the students. For example, if you’re meeting the students after the long summer break, you might ask them “ What did you do during the summer vacation? “

Next, instruct the students that when they answer they can choose to tell something true or they can lie and make up a story. Give the students some time, say 5 minutes, to come up with their story. When the students are ready, have each student tell their story. After each story, ask each student in the virtual classroom whether they think it is true or a lie.

This activity is a lot of fun and can lead to some hilarious stories. Students especially enjoy it when they are able to make their classmates believe their crazy stories.

3. Word Association Games

Word association games can be easily played in a virtual classroom and they require little to no preparation. If you’re not familiar with word association games, they are simple games in which the teacher would choose a word and then ask students to say the first related word that comes to mind.

A great way to play this in a virtual classroom is to give students a particular topic, for example, ‘animals’, and then ask students one by one to name something from that topic. The first student who can’t think of a word, or says a word that was mentioned previously, must do a forfeit. The forfeit could be that the student has to pull a silly face, do a silly dance, or just lose a point. 4. Describe And Draw

For this next virtual classroom game, each student needs a pencil and paper to draw on. This activity is a great way to practice listening skills.

First, the teacher should find something they want the students to draw and place it off-screen where students cannot see it. Next, the teacher should start describing the object and the students should listen and draw what they think the object looks like.

Once the teacher has finished describing the object and the students have finished drawing, ask the students to show their drawings to the other members of the virtual classroom. Next, show the students the object that you were describing and see whose drawing resembles it the most. After playing one time you can also let a student be the one who chooses an object and describes it. This game is a lot of fun, and kids especially find it funny when they see all the different drawings from their classmates.

5. Online Activity Videos

In your virtual classroom, if you are able to share your screen, then our collection of activity videos can be used when you want a fun, no-prep, ready-to-use game. On our activity videos page , we have over 70 ready-to-use games on many different topics. All are free and be shown in your virtual classroom from this website or from our YouTube channel.

6. Scavenger Hunt

This activity is a fantastic game to play while teaching online, especially with kids. And the best thing about it is it needs no preparation. To play, simply think of a kind of object that students likely have in their house/room. Then, students should run off and find that object and then return and share what they found with the class. For example, you might ask students to find something blue, or a toy, or find something that is a certain shape, etc. The things students come up with can be really surprising and funny making this activity great for teaching kids online.

7. Guess Who It Is

This next game is a great warm-up or ice-breaker activity. To play, choose one student and ask that student to close their eyes or look away from the computer screen. Next, choose one student to be a ‘secret witch’. That student should then say something like “I am a scary witch! Be very afraid! Wahahaha!”. And then, the student who closed their eyes should then open their eyes and try to guess which student’s voice they heard. This activity is super fun and works perfectly when teaching in a virtual classroom.

8. Would You Rather

Asking ‘Would you rather questions’ is a fun activity to play online with students and a great way to learn more about your students’ personalities. You can ask students to simply answer the question directly, or ask them to type what they would rather do in the chat window. 9. Mystery Box Game

This next activity is a fun PowerPoint game that you can easily play online with students. For this game, you’ll need our Mystery Box PowerPoint Game Template . Simply add your own questions and/or pictures to the template before the lesson. To play this game, divide the students into two teams. The teams will take turns answering a question. After answering the question, students can then choose to keep the box or give the box to the other team. Inside the box is good points (e.g +1000) or bad points (-1000). Although this game takes a little preparation, it is worth it as students really love this activity.

10. Simon Says

The classic classroom game ‘ Simon Says ‘ can be easily adapted to play online. Ask students to stand up and stand back from the camera. Next, the teacher should say an action preceded by “ Simon Says.. “. For example, “S imon says touch your head “. If the teacher says “ Simon says… ” first, then students should do that action. If the teacher doesn’t say it first, then the students should not follow the instruction. Students that do, are out.

11. The Chain Game

This game needs no preparation and is great for when you have extra time in your online class. To play, one student should say a word, and then the next student should say a word that starts with the last letter of the previous word. To make it more difficult, you can introduce a category of words (e.g. animals) that students must focus on.

12. The Telepathy Game

To play this game, you’ll need to download our Telepathy Game PowerPoint Template or make your own. The idea of the game is simple. You ask students a question and give them two possible answers. Only one of them is the answer that the teacher chose. So, students must use ‘telepathy’ to read the teacher’s mind and guess the answer. If they guess correctly, they get a point. Students basically have a 50/50 chance to guess the answer. Although this game is so simple, kids really love it and love pretending that they have the power to read minds.

13. Make A Story Game

This activity is very simple but often students will come up with some really hilarious stories. To play, start the story but don’t finish the sentence. For example, “ Once upon a time, there was a .. .”. Then, ask a student to finish the sentence, and start the next sentence of the story. Again that student should not finish the sentence, the next student should. To play this game online, you can ask students to type in their sentences into the chat window and then the teacher can read the story allowed at the end.

14. Word Detective

If you are teaching a particular text or story, this activity is great to play to practice students’ reading and scanning skills. Display the text on-screen, or if students have their own copy of the text at home they can use that. Next, choose a word from the text and ask students to be ‘word detectives’ and find how many of that word there is. To make it more difficult, you can ask students to find a particular type of word, such as nouns, verbs, adverbs, etc.

15. Blooket

Blooket is a fantastic platform for online learning that allows teachers to create and host quizzes and games. After creating a quiz, teachers can share the game with students so they can complete it online on their own devices. Check out this helpful guide on How To Use Blooket for more details.

16. Let’s Dance Game

This last activity can easily be played online by sharing your screen and using our Let’s Dance PowerPoint Game Template . The template has 30 boxes, each with space for one word or number. Simply type in 30 words into the boxes that you want students to practice. Then, the game can begin. Students will take turns reading the words in the boxes. Each time, students can choose to say 1 word, 2 words, or a maximum of 3 words. The student who says the last word must do a silly dance.

Then, divide the class into teams, who will compete to answer the most questions quickly and correctly. 4. Virtual Musical Chairs

Sitting in front of your computer all day to attend class can be draining. However, teachers can get their class moving through Virtual Musical Chairs, which adapts the idea behind the in-person game for a remote class. To play, broadcast a song, and have your students get up and dance. Then, periodically shut off the music. Once the music stops, students should rush to sit down. 9. Alphabet Chain

Alphabet Chain is a terrific online classroom game for expanding students’ vocabularies. To play, choose a category. Your students then name words that fit that topic, except that every proposed word needs to start with the last letter of the previous word. If a student is unable to think of another word, then they are out. The last student standing wins.

• Present another grid table to your students (5×5 for 2 teams, 6×6 for 3 teams, etc.)
• Write a target word into each grid.
• Split players into the desired number of teams.
• Team 1 chooses a grid and says the meaning behind the word in it.

How it works: At the end of a lesson, get students (either solo or in teams) to come up with two facts that everyone had just learned in the lesson, as well as one lie that sounds like it could be true.

Each student reads out their two truths and one lie, after which each student votes for which they thought was the lie. Each student who correctly identified the lie gets a point, while the student who made up the lie gets one point for each person who voted incorrectly.

#10 – Draw a Monster

How it works: Using a collaborative online whiteboard like Excalidraw , invite each student to draw a monster. The monster must feature target words from your lesson in a number that is determined by a dice roll.

For example, if you’re teaching shapes, then you can set triangle , circle and diamond as your target words. Roll the dice for each to determine how many of each has to feature in each student’s monster ( 5 triangles, 3 circles , 1 diamond ).

💡 Tip: Keep engagement high by letting students roll the dice and naming their monster at the end.

This one’s a good virtual icebreaker as it encourages creative thinking early on in a lesson.

How it works: Start by creating the opening to a whimsical story that’s one sentence long. Pass that story onto a student, who continues it with a sentence of their own, before passing it on.

Write down each story addition so as not to lose track. Eventually, you’ll have a class-created story to be proud of!

💡 Tip: It’s best to use this as a background game. Teach your lesson as you normally would, but have students build their story behind the scenes. You can read the whole story out at the end.

How it works: Like pictionary, this virtual classroom game is an evergreen sensation. It’s one of the easiest games to adapt from the offline to the online classroom, as it requires basically no materials.

Create a list of target words that are easy enough to demonstrate through actions. Choose a word and perform the action, then see which student gets it.

💡 Tip: This is one your students can definitely get involved in. Give each student a word in private and see if they can perform an action that clearly demonstrates the target word.

#13 – Bring the House Down

How it works: Create a few scenarios from the things you covered in the lesson. Split students into teams of 3 or 4, then give each team a scenario. Send those students into breakout rooms together so they can plot their performance using household objects as props.

After 10 – 15 minutes of preparation, call all teams back to perform their scenario using household objects. Optionally, all students can take a vote at the end for the most creative, funny, or accurate performance.

In today’s digital world, virtual learning is more prevalent than ever. But that doesn’t mean we should say goodbye to our favorite in-class activities!

Here’s how to transform classic school activities into online activities that are perfect for distance learning.

6 Virtual back to school activities for the first day of the school year

Online review games for the classroom are wonderful modern education tools. They provide an engaging way for students of all ages to study essential lesson material while remaining active participants, often in a positive group setting. Additionally, digital games are familiar to students and teachers alike and can be easily introduced into classroom pedagogy. In today’s tech-driven environment, 99% of boys, 94% of girls, and 62% of teachers play video games. 1

This guide to 10 teacher-approved review games will help you learn more about the different classroom review games available and select which of these gaming programs will best fit your curriculum, your budget, and your students’ educational needs.

If there is one review game platform on this list you’ve heard about before, it’s Kahoot!. Kahoot! is popular and boasts millions of users and more than 100 million ready-to-play games, according to its website 2 . Kahoot! launched in 2012 and is designed for social learning. 3 Kahoot allows you to create multiple-choice games, polls, and quizzes quickly for an exciting gaming classroom experience. Teachers can host live review games during class time, or display their “kahoots” on a shared screen to remote students participating from home. Students can play in classic mode, or team mode with shared devices. Kahoot! requires registration with a login. Once you’ve gained access there’s a basic, free version and a premium version to choose from.

Teacher Tip: Check out Kahoot!’s “curriculum aligned collections” to find games created by teachers.

For those interested in a free classroom review game that's made by students, for students, Gimkit is the answer! Gimkit’s Kahoot!-style gameplay is supercharged by delivering virtual dollars to players for correct answers. As an added bonus, players can get more money per correct answer as they level up. Gimkit “streak bonuses” deliver even more money for sequences of correct answers meaning student players are rewarded for their overall efforts. Gimkit’s increasing virtual rewards, based on question level and willingness to take risks, encourages strategic play among students and teams. 3. Flipgrid

Flipgrid is perfect for discussion-based style classroom reviews or reviews which require a bulletin board style program to facilitate learning. Acquired by Microsoft in 2018, 5 Flipgrid describes itself as a free video discussion platform that promotes social learning that’s both “fun” and “supportive.” 6

Educators start a Flipgrid by creating topic grids, setting sharing and access guidelines, and lastly, opening up grids for student participation. Students can create short video responses to grids that last anywhere from a short 15 seconds to five minutes in length. This online review tool also provides an accessible forum for students who are less talkative in a traditional classroom setting. With Flipgrid, all students can share at their own pace. To turn your grids into a game, have students post responses to practice quiz questions. In summary, Flipgrid is an easy-to-use conversation starter for students who are middle school age or older, including high school and college students.

Teacher Tip: Press the “disco grid” button to get already-created assignments by other educators that you can customize to your classroom needs.

Launched in 2015, Quizizz bills itself as “the world’s most engaging learning platform,” 7 and is a great way for educators to create tech-based exams, pre-test reviews, unit tests, and impromptu tests for their online review activities. Educators can choose from Quizizz’s presenter-led or student-led setting options. Students have more autonomy with Quizizz and can work at their own speed on a variety of personal electronic devices. This online review program also allows teachers to see student performance data. As of late 2020, Quizizz has more than 65 million global users across 150 countries. 8

5. Flippity

Flippity enables educators to turn their very own Google Sheets spreadsheets into different online reviews games including flashcards, crosswords, trivia games, and board games. Flippity is free to use, though some additional features are ad-supported. Flippity works on most browsers but does require Javascript to function. Each student can have his or her own version of the Flippity review game and teachers can have student results emailed to them for quick classroom progress tracking. A web connection is needed for each page to load, but no special application is needed to get the program.

6. Quizlet Live

Quizlet helps students build their soft and hard skills while they use this collaborative classroom game to solve quiz questions. You’ll need at least six students to run the game and both the students and the classroom education will need an electronic device to participate. To get started, teachers should divide students into groups. With Quizlet, only one student’s device has the correct answer, per group. This ensures student teams must cooperate and communicate in order to find the correct answer and progress to the finish as a group. Teachers can track each team’s progress along the way. The more effectively teams work together, the faster they can win. Wrong answers put teams back to the start to collaborate together again. Students do benefit from Quizlet’s method of group learning and seven different study modes. According to Quizlet, 90% of students who use Quizlet report higher grades. 9

Teacher Tip: Quizlet Live can be accessed from a browser or the Quizlet downloadable app.

Padlet is recommended for Grades 2-12 and is a great way for your students to share their ideas and their work with the entire class. Padlet has a free basic version that provides three “padlets,” or bulletin boards, and comes with an ample amount of storage space for classroom use. If you need more padlets or storage space, select the paid pro version. Any type of file can be posted to Padlet and students can type in responses to a question as well as share work files from external applications. Classroom educators can customize Padlet backgrounds and content to keep material visually interesting and conducive to classroom learning. To get started with this online review game, create a new Padlet, decide on the layout, and give it a name and description. Further customize it as you like to your classroom needs. For classrooms that need more monitoring, select “require approval” for each student comment to review that material before it is posted for the group. Padlet’s approval option works best if you want more control over classroom content and if you have time to check Padlet regularly to prevent content approval backlogs. Lastly, have your students sign in to free Padlet accounts to launch their experience and you’re ready to go.

Teacher Tip: Turn on Padlet’s “attribution” feature to see what each student has shared. Turn on comments to get students engaging with one another. Keep “reactions” off to tamp down on student competition over who has the most “likes.”

8. Quizalize

Quizalize is your tool to help create and share your online review quizzes while conducting formative assessments. 10 Quizalize allows teachers to track individual student progress accurately and to see which students have mastered which skills. Tailor each quiz to your curriculum’s needs or utilize the application’s existing quizzes, designed by fellow educators, that are tied to common curriculums. Quizalize motivates students individually but also on the team level and can be played from a variety of devices (laptop, cellphone, tablet) that are internet-connected. To get started with Quizalize, select from their free, teacher-made quizzes or create your own review quizzes. You can add images to your quiz and correct answer explanations. Next, choose quiz length and then save. With Quizalize, you have the ability to add as many questions as you’d like and you can customize the quiz delivery options for students. Once all of your preferences are set for your classroom needs, your Quizalize quiz is ready to launch!

9. Bamboozle

Need to boost your students' vocabulary skills? Bamboozle is a great online review game option for vocabulary building. It’s also free. Bamboozle is easy to launch, is great for all classroom levels, and has the ability to be replayed in the same classrooms as its games are randomized. To get started quickly, search for games in a category, preview the questions and pictures, pick the number of teams, and the number of questions. Next, set up scoring and additional game options and you're ready to launch. You can also set up your own Bamboozle games from scratch.

Teacher Tip: Once your game is ready to play, increase the fun levels in class by calling on your students individually, asking them to pick a numbered card and answer the question that appears. Click and show the correct answer after each individual student has participated to review answers and reinforce group learning.

No online classroom review games list would be complete without Bookwidgets. 12 Fun Learning Games like Kahoot (including Free Alternatives)

Whether it's the high price tag, the bloated and tough-to-navigate software, or just over-saturation with your students — it might be time to try an alternative to Kahoot. What other games and tools are the best teachers using to enable interactivity in their classrooms?

Here are 12 great learning games like Kahoot. We selected each of these Kahoot alternatives for their teacher-friendly designs and functionality, and students love them all. Bonus, find a list of totally-free games like Kahoot list at the end, as well.

1. Slides With Friends

Overall:  Slides With Friends for education is in some ways a better option than Kahoot for the average classroom . It lets you run interactive lessons, play icebreakers, play review games, or run quizzes / exams, all through a pretty simple "slide deck" setup. You can create your own lessons or choose from pre-made templates, all in a PowerPoint-type interface.

Kahoot-like functionalities you can do using Slides With Friends (plus more):

• Interactive quizzing and exams — Ask multiple choice questions, specific text-answer questions, and more. The tool automatically scores for you.
• Word Clouds — Give your students a prompt and let them respond as a whole group by sending in words and making words they vote on bigger in real time — giving everyone an equal voice in a socially safe way.
• Photo Show & Tell — Let students share images and talk about their pictures.
• Apples to Apples like games where students can vote on others' responses.
• Live Polling, Pass the Mic, Soundboards, and more — interesting and outside the box interaction options you won't see on Kahoot. These are all carefully and specifically designed to be pro-social and to promote positive feelings for your students.

Cons: While the free account comes with the entire tool's functionality: unlimited games, decks, events, questions, etc., you can only have up to 10 players join in the free account. (Actually, insider tip, the site lets you have up to 12 to give you leeway in case you need just a little bit more 😉) It's ideal if you have a smaller classroom, but the next tier up is super generous, letting you run events for 50 students.

Overall:  Quizziz is another learning game system like Kahoot. It’s great for teachers, because it was developed with educators in mind. In fact, many school districts have adopted its use. It is highly accessible through any mobile or internet-connected device , and your students see the questions on their screen whether at home or in person.

There is a free and a paid version. The free version allows for up to 25 students to participate. If you have the luxury of smaller class sizes, or if you work in small groups, you can use this tool in your classroom for free. It was developed for corporate training, not students, but it will do the job.

Cons: The biggest downfall to Quizziz is that it really is just good for quizzes and quiz-like learning games. Still, there are a ton of pre-built teaching decks for English and Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and other core subjects.

Quizlet offers another great feature that you don’t see in the other tools – flashcards. You can use their pre-built flashcard study decks, or you can build your own. This tool is definitely designed for retrieval practice, which is still the best way to help students recall of important information.

The limited functionality of this really does mean it is just a quizzing tool, but again they have a lot of ready to go templates in almost any subject imaginable. This is one of those Kahoot alternatives many teachers love.

4. Google Classroom

Google Classroom is the preferred virtual learning platform for many schools and teachers. Designed to be a classroom management tool, it allows you to have interactive sessions with students remote and in-person at the same time. You can easily provide course materials, instructional videos, or study guides through the platform, as well as accepting and tracking incoming student work.

Google Classroom has a lot to offer, but they don’t have presentation tools like Slides With. Google Slides can be used with the classroom platform, but they don’t offer the same engaging tools that teachers have found highly effective.

However, you can use your Slides With presentation deck, along with all of its interactive components, with the video platform within Google Classroom. You can also upload the deck (or a stripped down version) into the classroom for later reference.

5. Baamboozle

Baamboozle is a learning game on steroids. Designed specifically for use in classrooms, it offers a wide range of ready to go quizzes, or you can make your own. You can also choose to give your students a random quiz so that different questions are asked each time, making it a more effective study tool. Although this is a great way to get students engaged with interaction and self-assessment, it isn’t the best tool for giving presentations.

Factile is another quiz tool that was developed specifically for classroom learning in response to the demands of teachers bringing new life into the classroom. Factile allows you to make quizzes or give your students pre-made quizzes to gauge retention and exam readiness. Students can interact with the lesson by answering questions digitally, even when in-person. There are also flashcard decks that can help them study for exams.

7. Quizalize

Quizalize is a great, affordable solution for the teacher that isn’t given resources or budget for classroom games, but understands that student engagement is required for retention and ultimately academic success. Quizalize doesn’t have the interactive features that the other options have, but the quizzes can be taken remotely.

While it might not be a replacement for Kahoot , it can take some of the work out of quizzes and grading, especially when teaching a hybrid class. It is also free for teachers to use for up to 3 classes and up to 5 activities, whereas other options have more limited free features.

8. Wordwall

If you have ever thought of an interactive learning activity for your students, you will find them ready to go here. Wordwall offers so many templates that you are sure to find one that will work for your class. You can distribute these quizzes to students remotely or in-person, but they won’t be completed in real-time. There is a free version that gives you access to a lot of the features so you can have autogenerated quizzes that you can input into Slides With, Kahoot, or another platform.

What is student engagement and why do I need it?

Whether we're back in the classroom, still remote, or some mixture of hybrid, student engagement is at the forefront of our minds. It's twice as hard to get students interested and participating when they're not in the room, but it can be challenging even when they're right in front of us. And engagement is obviously an important goal:

Engaged students scored almost 13% higher in general than less active students, according to a Gallup poll in 2019.

‍ So how do we help engage our kids? We use tools and enable interactivity! It's been shown that live quizzes can improve student engagements with teachers, the material they're learning, and between the students themselves. Students learn much better when they participate rather than feel "talked at", so the easier and more fun and accessible we can make participation, the better.

Educational neuroscience expert Dr. David Sousa, student engagement is “the amount of attention, interest, curiosity, and positive emotional connections that students have when they are learning, whether in the classroom or on their own” (2016, p. 17). – Learning Sciences International. Likewise, the social aspect of interactive learning is so important that Google has launched a Social Literacy Project .

Slides With Friends was built to address exactly this. Using this interactive alternative to Kahoot makes it easier for students to participate by giving everyone an equal voice. A lot of students might be shy and barely raise their hand, and it is hard to engage those students in traditional classroom settings. These social issues can be overcome by using learning games like Kahoot or SlidesWith, but also through the use of quizzes and live polls on an anonymous basis. Students will be more likely to participate if they know they won’t be singled out, and SlidesWith gives you lots of options.

Free Kahoot Alternatives

There are a number of completely free learning games that you can use in your classrooms, especially if your students all have smart devices available to them. These free options aren’t going to give you as much functionality, but they can make some of the work of planning lessons and engaging students a bit easier.

9. Slides With Friends — the free options for this tool is robust and super useful, as long as you have a smaller class — it's free for 12 students to interact per activity. If you have a 30-person class, you can divide them into teams so that everyone can participate regardless. When you want all of the features of corporate or higher education on a K-12 teaching budget, you can’t go wrong with Slides With Friends.

‍ It's got more and better interactions than Kahoot. You can create your own interactive lessons with a fun and easy slide deck builder that lets you quiz, ask multiple choice questions, create word clouds, poll the audience, share photos, and much more. You can use the entire tool for free with up to 10 players, so as long as you only want to run it for smaller groups it's totally free.

10. Pear Deck Flashcard Factory – This completely free tool makes it easy to create flashcards for any lesson in any subject. Rather than a quizzing platform, Pear Deck helps you create (or adapt pre-built) flash cards to help your students grasp important concepts for study.

11. Flippity – Flippity is an amazing free tool that allows you to convert your Google spreadsheets into interactive digital manipulatives, activities, and tools. Set up your spreadsheet with the appropriate fields, and enter information for each question. Flippity will do the rest! This does require a bit more effort than the other options mentioned here.

12. ClassTools.net – Just what it sounds like, this site gives you access to some very helpful free classroom tools, including templates that make lesson planning and student engagement effortless.

5 Free Sites for Creating Games and Puzzles

Whether you are new to creating online classroom games or have been teaching through online games for a long time, there are always new options coming online to discover. Most of these resources are simple to use; others take more technical skill to understand and create and develop your learning activity.

These five sites include options for beginners through experts. All are free and offer a variety of different learning opportunities through gameplay.

• Arcade Game Generator – this site is the easiest of all to use and is from Class Tools, a favorite resource for many teachers. Get ideas for your games from the many samples shown before creating your game. Follow the easy directions to add your questions and answers or upload a spreadsheet already on your computer. After adding items, the Arcade Game Generator creates several different games using your questions and answers. Games include Pong, PacMan, Asteroids, and more. This site also creates flashcards using your information.
• ProProfs Games and Puzzles is another straightforward game creation tool that focuses on word games. Choose the create option to make sliding puzzles, word searches, crosswords, and more. Options within each type of game allow personalization in difficulty levels, and some offer an opportunity to set the maximum time for gameplay.
• Sugarcane is a bit more sophisticated looking than the previous sites, yet is also simple to use. Explore some of the features by playing games already on the site before attempting to create your own. Step-by-step directions make it easy to add and personalize your content and design visually attractive games that even include images. Use one data set to create up to 18 different game formats.
• Baamboozle is a little different than the other game tools because it offers interactive game play between teams. Baamboozle keeps track of scores throughout the game. Follow directions to add questions, answers, and point values for items. This site is perfect to use as an introduction to any unit to assess prior comprehension of knowledge, or at the end of your unit for a whole-class or small group review activity.
• Answerables is for the more tech-savvy teachers to use in creating a game-based virtual world for students. Answerables also includes an online learning management system to create events and assignments as well as provide feedback. It also offers opportunities for independent learning activities as well as collaboration between students.

As you and your students create learning games, here are some tips to keep in mind:

• Content and development of learning skills are the most important thing to consider. If students aren’t learning or developing skills, it is just a game.
• You don’t always have to be the game-maker. Let students create games for their peers or individual practice. You can learn a lot from what students include and what they think is essential.
• Think about how to use games for collaboration or to allow for student creativity. Have a toolbox full of different game-creation options to allow student choice in learning.
• Try out some of the games at various sites on your own to learn what interests and motivates you. Think about how others have added content and how you can use your content to fit your learning style and classroom situation.

Hi! Do you know if any of the platforms you mentioned above will let game “creators” embed the game on another website, in an iFrame or similar? Hi Steve, I don’t see the code included with any of the games in the article; however, other sites often have them. This article provides a good tutorial for how to add the code onto most sites – https://www.wikihow.com/Add-Fun-Games-to-Your-Web-Site-for-Free . I know Google Sites and Word Press both support embedding games. In Google Sites you can add a link with a page preview that would also work.

This online class provides an in-depth examination of procurements under M.G.L. c. 30B.

The  Supplies and Services Contracting class is a nine-week asynchronous class. You may complete up to two modules each week at your own pace. The class includes hands-on exercises and supplemental activities designed to involve the student in the learning process. The class ends with a multiple-choice exam.

Shedeur Sanders goes back to the classroom for the first time in over a year

Shedeur Sanders recently did something he hasn't done in a long time. The Colorado Buffaloes quarterback attended an in-person lecture on campus for the first time in over a year. He even chronicled the event in a video posted on Wednesday.

Sanders walked into his chemistry class and caused an uproar. “Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve been to one in-person class?” he said.

Coach Prime was the first to leak the details about his son taking classes online . The Hall-of-Famer talked about it on a podcast with former baseball teammate Aaron Boone. Nothing uncommon for high-profile athletes in this era, but people on the outside still feel it takes away from the college experience.

“It’s so different now man because most of the school is online,” Coach Prime said in January. “Like, they go to classes and I’m like, 'You guys are missing the best part of college − to be on campus, to walk around and build the atmosphere and build relationships on campus with other students outside of football.' That’s the best part of it, but now you have so many kids, they’re just online. I don’t even know if Shedeur has taken a class on campus in his college career.”

Sanders and the Buffs are weeks away from the annual Black and Gold Spring Game on April 27. A "Prime Time" Weekend that will end with a concert by five-time Grammy Award winner Lil Wayne.

Monday marks deadline to file claim in $100M Verizon class-action lawsuit

Verizon customers eligible to file a claim and join a $100 million class-action settlement again the company only have until the end of the day Monday to sign up.

According to a website set up for the settlement, customers claimed Verizon charged certain account holders an administrative charge in a deceptive manner.

Although plaintiffs in the case and Verizon have agreed to a settlement, Verizon has denied and continues to deny any wrongdoing, the settlement website said, saying that Verizon will continue to charge the fee.

"Verizon clearly identifies and describes its wireless consumer Admin Charge multiple times during the sales transaction, as well as in its marketing, contracts and billing," Verizon previously told NBC Chicago in a statement. "This charge helps our company recover certain regulatory compliance, and network related costs. As always, our Company stands committed to transparency and the clear disclosure of all consumer charges and fees."

According to the settlement administrator, a fairness hearing to finalize the settlement was held March 22. Claim submissions are due by the end of Monday.

According to the settlement website, customers who were eligible to be part of the settlement were notified by mail or email as they were identified by Verizon. That included account holders for the company's post-paid individual consumer wireless service who were charged such fees between Jan. 1, 2016 and Nov. 6, 2023.

The website describes the settlement class as "all current and former individual consumer account holders in the United States (based on account holders’ last known billing address) who received postpaid wireless or data services from Verizon and who were charged and paid an Administrative Charge and/or an Administrative and Telco Recovery Charge between January 1, 2016 and November 8, 2023."

How do I file a claim?

Those who are eligible can file a claim via mail or online.

To file by mail, print a paper claim form, available  here ,  fill it out, and mail it to the address listed on the form. 

How much could I get?

Payments of up to $100 are expected, but the final amount may vary depending on how long you were a Verizon customer and how many claims are filed.

According to the settlement website, eligible claimants will get a minimum of $15 for their account, plus $1 for each month they were charged the fees cited in the lawsuit, up to a maximum of $100.

"If the Settlement Fund is not sufficient to pay all the filed valid claims after deducting any Court-approved amounts for the cost of settlement administration, attorneys’ fees and costs, and incentive awards to the class representatives, then the payments made to the Settlement Class Members who filed valid claims will be decreased from the initial allocated amount on a pro-rata basis," the site states.

How will I receive my payment?

According to administrators, settlements will be paid by check or electronic payment once the settlement is approved and finalized.

Verizon Wireless class action settlement deadline is approaching. Here's how to join

The deadline to sign up for a class action settlement with Verizon Wireless is Monday.

The settlement stems from a lawsuit against the wireless carrier, filed in New Jersey, that alleged that the company charged administration fees in a "deceptive and unfair manner."

Verizon denied wrongdoing as a part of the settlement, and the settlement website says the company will continue to charge the fees and has every right to increase them.

"Verizon clearly identifies and describes its wireless consumer Admin Charge multiple times during the sales transaction, as well as in its marketing, contracts and billing," Verizon spokesperson Rich Young said in a statement to USA TODAY. "This charge helps our company recover certain regulatory compliance, and network-related costs."

How much can a person receive if they join the settlement?

Eligible members of the class can qualify for up to $100 each. The final amount each customer will receive depends on how long they've been a customer.

Current and former customers with wireless or data services that were charged administrative fees between Jan. 1, 2016, to Nov. 8, 2023, are eligible.

Those who opt into the lawsuit cannot sue Verizon over the issue in the future.

How to sign up for the Verizon class action settlement

Qualifying customers must either file a  claim  through the settlement website or fill out and mail in a claim  form by April 15 to receive a settlement payment.

Those who don't file a claim will lose any rights to sue Verizon over these issues and also be legally bound by all orders and judgments the court makes on the lawsuit.

Dune: Part Two is not only one of the best films of the year, but one of the best sci-fi movies ever made, depending on who you ask. And yet it’s about to become another victim of Warner Bros’ policy of putting most movies on digital 45 days after their theatrical release.

That means Dune: Part Two’s digital release date is April 16, a month and a half after its original March 1 release. It will arrive in 48 hours or so, but I maintain that cutting off its theatrical run was a poor decision by Warner Bros, as I’ve said previously.

Why? A few reasons. First, it’s arguably one of the best movies to see in theaters that I have ever seen, between its sweeping visuals, incredible score and perfect sound design. That experience will simply not translate into home viewing as well, and the messaging should be that you really, really need to see it in theaters if possible.

Second, it’s still performing well despite a wide decrease in showtimes. At the domestic box office this very weekend, two days before streaming release, it still earned $7.4 million domestically, bringing its grand total to $669,384,065 worldwide. Thankfully, Dune 3, Dune: Messiah, is already a go based on how wildly this movie outperformed the first tone, so that decision has been correctly made. But pulling this movie, of all movies, just a month and a half after it debuted is a mistake.

We have seen other studios recognize this. Part of Barbie’s massive run was the fact that it did not come to digital for five full months after its release last year. Oppenheimer was released on July 21, 2023, and was not released on digital until February of 2024. This idea that Dune Part 2 should have a digital release date just 45 days after release is evidence of how much this desire to drive people toward streaming services can actively hurt the media being sold. They’re still treating this like a pandemic movie when we are now well past that.

Sure, I absolutely recommend Dune 2 in whatever format. But given that it’s still in theaters right now with at least a few showings a day in your local theater, most likely, I 300% recommend you watch it there instead.

An Update on Battlefield 2042 and Welcoming Motive Studio to the Team

The team expands as we set our sights on what’s next.

When Battlefield 2042 launched, we promised to bring four seasons of content to the game, including new maps, additional specialists, weapons, vehicles, and more. As our seasons continued, the feedback we received made it clear your appetite for more Battlefield 2042 remained strong. We took the opportunity to evolve the game to make it even better for you and continue to learn valuable lessons for our own developmental processes.

Last month, we released the seventh season of Battlefield 2042 – Turning Point, which added an intense new urban map set in Chile as well as several weapons and a new gadget, with a revamped map based on the Stadium location from Hourglass, two themed events, and a new weapon and vehicle to come.

While we’ve enjoyed and are proud of creating these seasons of additional content for Battlefield 2042, it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future. What this ultimately means is that Season 7 will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons.

We know this news may be disappointing.  However, as we looked at what the future of the series required, it became clear it was time for us to shift our resources and focus to be fully dedicated to what comes next.

As I’ve mentioned in previous updates, we have an ambitious vision to embrace and unlock the vast potential of the series’ class-based squadplay and immersive, intense battles.

To that end, Motive Studio – the talented developers known most recently for their work on the critically acclaimed remake of Dead Space and Star Wars: Squadrons – are building a team focused on Battlefield at their studio.  We’re tremendously excited for Motive, as they are bringing their expertise with Frostbite and compelling storytelling to the fold, joining DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect in building a Battlefield universe across connected multiplayer experiences and single-player.

Battlefield 2042 has been an important chapter of the series we all know and love, and your feedback has been important in helping us build this game into something special while also assisting us in laying the foundation for the future. Battlefield is an experience that is defined by the passion of its community as much as its team-driven tactics and explosive battles, and I look forward to the day that we can tell you more about what’s coming next.
