NTA invites Online Applications for Ph.D. Entrance Test for DU, JNU, BHU and BBAU – 2023

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted with the task of conducting Ph.D. Entrance Test for DU, JNU, BHU, and BBAU – 2023.

National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducted the Ph.D. Entrance Test 2023 in 97 Cities across India in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for the Academic Session 2023-24 as per the schedule given below:

Information about the eligibility, scheme of the exam, exam centers, exam timings, exam fee, the procedure for applying, etc. are contained in the Information Bulletin hosted on the website of NTA https://phd-entrance.samarth.ac.in/

Medium of Examination:

• Subjects in the Common Section, Commerce/Finance, Art and Culture, and Humanities would be Bilingual i.e., in English and Hindi both.
• Science Subjects would be in English only.
• Languages tests would be in their respective Languages except for Linguistics, Modern Indian Language, and Literary Studies. These two subjects would be in English

Broad features of Ph.D. Entrance Test 2023 is as follows:

Subject combinations for each paper, type of questions in each paper, and mode of examination are given in the table below:

i. There are about 100 subjects. ii. The Question paper will have two Sections. iii. Section 1- Research Methodology and Section 2- Subject-specific. iv. Each Question paper will have 100 MCQ Questions in English only except Languages. v. All Questions are Compulsory. vi. Duration of Examination – 3 Hours (180 min.) vii. A Candidate can choose a maximum of three courses, subject to one course in a slot as per the timetable. viii. Reservation Policy as applicable in the Participating Universities would be followed. The candidates are requested to carefully read the Reservation Policy mentioned in the Prospectus of the Universities which would be available on the respective University Website. ix. No Negative Marking would be done. x. The revised Timetable is placed in the Annexure as per the request of all stakeholders. xi. The candidates who have already applied can change the subjects during the correction window.

Important Instructions:

• Candidates must carefully read the Instructions (including how to fill up the Application Form online) given in the Information Bulletin available on the NTA Website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
• Candidates should apply for Ph.D. Entrance Test 2023 through the “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
• Submission of the Application Form could be made by the candidate online through the NTA website: https://phd-entrance.samarth.ac.in/
• Instructions for filling the Online Application Form: ♦ Before starting to fill the application form candidates are advised to read the Information Bulletin and Corrigendum dated:11 August 2023 displayed on the website of the NTA /University / Institution / Government College where admission is sought and be clear about the courses offered by them, seats available, eligibility as regards age, passing/appearing in qualifying exam, minimum marks in the qualifying exam, relaxation thereof, reservation, admission procedure, etc before applying for the Ph.D. Entrance Test 2023, as Universities have their own specific requirements for admission to specified courses (discipline/stage). • Required Minimum Degree : Candidates who have a 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade from recognised institution
• Reservation: A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories

NTA announces PhD entrance exam date 2023; Application correction window open from September 23

Those who applied for PhD admission to Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University and Banaras Hindu University can edit their application form by September 24 by 11:50 pm.

New Delhi:  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the examination date of PhD entrance test 2023 for DU, JNU, BHU, and BBAU. As per the schedule, the PhD entrance test will be held on October 26, 27, 30, and 31, 2023. The subject-wise date sheet is available to check from the official website at PhD entrance.samarth.ac.in.

According to an official notification, the testing organisation will hold the Ph.D. Entrance Test for DU, JNU, BHU, and BBAU – 2023 on October 26, 27, 30, and 31, 2023 at various examination centres situated across India under Computer Based Test (CBT) test.

NTA PhD Application form: Editable fields

• Candidates will not be allowed to change their mobile number, email address, or address.
• Candidates will be allowed to change any one of the files such as candidate name, father name, mother name, photograph, and signature.
• Candidates will be able to change all fields like Graduation details, postgraduate details, Date of birth, gender, category, and subcategory.
• Candidates may change examination cities with the exception of their current and permanent addresses and exam city selection.

If there is a change in the fee, a new fee will be imposed, and the modifications will be effective only once the additional money is paid.

NTA further stated that while this is a one-time chance provided to applicants to prevent any future issues, candidates are recommended to make the changes extremely carefully, as no other option for correction would be provided. Introduction

The Ministry of Education, Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization under Society Registration Act, 1860 for conducting efficient, transparent and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is the apex body for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture in the entire country under the aegis of DARE, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

The ICAR-AU System of India has 74 Agricultural Universities comprising 63 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticultural and Fisheries Universities (SAUs), 4 ICAR-DUs, viz. NTA PhD Entrance Test 2023: Application Form Fee

Depending on the category of students, different application forms cost different amounts. There will be a maximum of three additional papers that require separate fees from the students. If they want to participate, they must pay the fee for both papers, or they can choose to participate in only one, depending on the availability of their subjects. Steps to Register for the NTA PhD Entrance Test 2023

Step 1: Go to phd-entrance.samarth.ac.in , the official website. Step 2: Select “Register” from the homepage’s menu. Step 3: Afterward, sign up and complete the application. Step 4: Submit the required paperwork and make the application fee payments. Step 5: Fill out and submit the application form. Step 6: Download the application form and print it for your records.

NTA PhD Entrance Test 2023: Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

It will take three hours to complete the PhD entrance exam in 2023 . Section 1 of the entrance exam will cover research methodology , and Section 2 will focus on the chosen topic . There will be 100 multiple-choice questions on the exam. According to the scoring system, candidates will receive four marks for each correct response, while one mark will be subtracted for each incorrect response.  In the official announcement, NTA stated that “Information about the eligibility, scheme of the exam, exam centers, exam timings, exam fee, the procedure for applying, etc. is contained in the Information Bulletin hosted on the website of NTA.”
