What is Dissertation Boot Camp?
Dissertation Boot Camp is a three-day, face-to-face event, where faculty and librarians work with you to answer questions, explain dissertation processes and expectations, and help you gain the confidence to complete your doctoral journey. It is also a great way to meet other students and grow your support system. Watch this quick video testimonial from a previous boot camp student!

DIS9902B - The Dissertation Proposal Supplemental
Semester Credits: 3 Weeks: 8
Students enrolled in this course will be required to complete Chapters 1-3 of their dissertation proposal and receive committee approval for the Dissertation Proposal (DP). Chapter 2 consists of the literature review. Chapter 3 covers the research methodology to include population, sample, measurement instruments, data collection and analysis, limitations, and ethical considerations. In this course, a completed, committee approved Chapters 2 and 3 are required in addition to a completed, approved dissertation proposal (against the minimum rubric standards) before students may move to DIS9903A. Students who do not receive approval of the dissertation proposal will be enrolled in DIS9902C to finalize and gain approval of these requirements.

If you're working on a dissertation and think you may benefit from some hands-on guidance, consider registering for the NU Dissertation Boot Camp taking place November 5 - 7, 2023 in San Diego, CA. There is even a scholarship opportunity to help with the cost of the registration fee. Our own Amanda Bezet, Graduate Student Success Librarian, will be on-site to provide research assistance and guidance to attendees.

Welcome to the Dissertation Center! The Dissertation Center is a collection of resources to support students in completing their dissertation as part of the Doctoral Student Experience (DSE). The Dissertation Center is broken up into a collection of guides and each guide supports you in different areas of your dissertation. Navigate to the guides using the blue tabs near the top of the page. Once in a guide, use the table of contents on the left to navigate within the guide itself.
Many of the guide homepages also include a Jump to DSE Guide widget in the left navigation column. You can use this to easily navigate to another area of the Dissertation Center. Just select the page you wish to access from the dropdown menu and then click the Go button.
How do I know if I should be in the Dissertation Center or the Applied Doctoral Center?
Log into NCUOne and scroll down on the homepage until your find your Upcoming Courses widget. Look for the courses that begin with DIS.

Are you working on your thesis or dissertation? We’d love to help you start the summer off productively! Check out our thesis and dissertation boot camps here .
Join us for four days of focused writing, goal setting, and community. Our Online thesis and dissertation boot camp will be held May 13-16, 6-9pm, and our In-Person boot camp will be held May 14-17, 10am-2pm. Lunch will be provided at the in-person camp. Graduate students and post-docs welcome! Applications are due May 6 at 12pm.
Please note, our application has been updated and will require watching a brief orientation video. We recommend allowing a few extra minutes to complete the application process.

- Victor Mukhin
Victor M. Mukhin was born in 1946 in the town of Orsk, Russia. In 1970 he graduated the Technological Institute in Leningrad. Victor M. Mukhin was directed to work to the scientific-industrial organization "Neorganika" (Elektrostal, Moscow region) where he is working during 47 years, at present as the head of the laboratory of carbon sorbents. Victor M. Mukhin defended a Ph. D. thesis and a doctoral thesis at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (in 1979 and 1997 accordingly). Professor of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. Scientific interests: production, investigation and application of active carbons, technological and ecological carbon-adsorptive processes, environmental protection, production of ecologically clean food.
