Connect - Assignment Extensions

Manage extensions for an individual assignment, how to apply a connect assignment extension in the new experience.

How to Apply a Connect Assignment Extension in the Original Experience  

1. from your instructor dashboard, select the section that needs extensions added or removed. 2. on your section homepage, select the assignment you need to modify. 3. open the  assignment options  tab and select  manage extensions  from the drop-down menu., 4.  check the box next to each student that requires an extension., 5. under add extensions , enter the following details:, start date : the date and time the extension window begins, due date : the date and time the assignment is due, time limit : the time limit of the extension, attempts : the number of attempts the student has to complete the assignment, 6. click the save button. note: if you set the extension due date beyond a previously set date of delayed feedback for the assignment, you will prompted to confirm or change that feedback date. this prevents the student(s) with the extension from receiving answers from other students who have already viewed the feedback.   7. to edit or remove extensions from an individual assignment, repeat steps 1-3. on the extensions page, you can enter a new start and due date for the extension, add more extensions , or remove extension ., 8. click the  save  button to save your changes.  , manage extensions for individual students, 1. from the roster page, select manage next to the student's name., 2. select allow an additional   and then enter the desired extension amount. you can enter the amount as a % of the total time limit, or a specific number of minutes. , manage extensions in bulk, 1. from your section home page, check the box next to all assignments that need extensions added or modified. 2.  open the bulk options menu, and select manage dates ., 4.  click the extensions tab., 5. select the students whose extensions you want to add or edit., 6. select edit   next to any of the following categories you wish to edit:, 7. click the save   button to save your changes. 8. you can also edit extensions for assignments separately by selecting the individually   button at the top right. select add   under the extensions column for each assignment you want to edit., best practices:, extend assignment due dates, time limits, and/or number of attempts for students with excused extensions or other special circumstances., this option will only appear if the student is enrolled in the course., some assignment policy settings can impact your usage of and ability to manage extensions., if a student has already submitted the maximum number of attempts set for the assignment, you will need to allow additional assignment attempts as part of the extension., related topics:, managing extensions watch video (1:31).

Adding Extensions

On the McGraw-Hill Connect homepage:

• Press the down arrow next to the stack of papers icon.
• Click on Manage Dates .

By default, the bulk tab will be selected. Select the Individually tab.

Click on + add next to an assignment to provide a date extension or extra attempts for a specific student.

• Select the student you want to receive an extension.
• Edit the start date .
• Edit the due date .
• Edit the time limit .
• Give extra attempts.
• When finished, press the Save button.
