Why will the admissions committe like this applicant, why will the admissions committe like this essay.
My journey began amidst the kaleidoscope of Qatar’s landscapes, setting the stage for a life attuned to cultural nuances. Transitioning to Riyadh in my teens, I absorbed a mosaic of traditions, sparking a curiosity in global perspectives that continues to fuel my ambitions.
As a testament to this drive, I secured a place at Harvard Business School (HBS), where my management science studies were not merely academic; they were a gateway to a multitude of business disciplines, igniting a passion for marketing and international business. The hallmark case study approach at HBS deepened my understanding of business intricacies, particularly in marketing and global commerce.
An extraordinary chapter unfolded when I participated in a global business competition, collaborating with peers from the USA, Canada, and India to strategize market entry for a top American brand in India. My leadership in this project involved in-depth market analyses, resulting in our strategy’s recognition among the top 5% of 30,000 contenders. This experience was pivotal, sharpening my leadership skills and enhancing my adaptability to global business practices.
During my senior year, I was honored to represent HBS at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) as part of an elite exchange program. The vibrant intellectual environment at IIM, peppered with students from over 80 nations, was instrumental in broadening my academic and cultural horizons. Here, I not only excelled academically but also embraced the multifaceted campus life, contributing to a deeper, more nuanced understanding of international business.
Engagement with multicultural student organizations at Harvard, particularly in roles such as the social media head, honed my digital communication strategies and allowed me to lead impactful campaigns. My leadership role at the Harvard Climate Change Community further polished my ability to foster collaboration and guide diverse teams towards common goals.
My professional acumen was further developed through a dynamic internship with Walmart in New York City, where I worked within Business Intelligence & Marketing. This role required leveraging data analytics to inform strategies across the U.S. market, refining my skills in project management and analytical reasoning.
My subsequent experience at McKinsey provided a holistic view of the business landscape in key American cities, equipping me with a comprehensive skill set in marketing strategy and project execution. These roles, shaped by real-world challenges, have laid a solid foundation for my future in marketing and international commerce.
Having lived and worked across cultures—in Brazil, the Middle East, and the United States—I am prepared to contribute meaningfully to the international business sphere. The masters in international business (MIB) program at XYZ university, with its emphasis on a ‘Multi-Cultural Classroom’ and flexibility to specialize in International Market Development, is a perfect fit for my career aspirations.
Upon completing my master’s, I aim to leverage my education and experiences to enhance the burgeoning economic landscape of the Middle East, focusing on the diversification efforts that are propelling the region forward. With a master’s degree from XYZ university, I am excited about the prospect of returning to Riyadh, contributing to the growth of multinational corporations in Saudi Arabia.
In conclusion, my educational journey through leading institutions, coupled with practical business engagements, has prepared me for the challenges of an international career. I am eager to further my education in the United States, confident that XYZ university is the catalyst I need to transform my professional ambitions into reality.

International Business BSc Personal Statement
When looking at the many highly successful transnational corporations currently operating today, I remind myself that they all started off as the same thing; an idea. Since starting my A-levels I have been curious to see how many of my own ideas could in fact be developed off the paper. I am very absorbed in business and have particular interest in both risk management and the entrepreneurship of businesses. My interest in this subject has meant that I have been able to gain knowledge and experience both in and out of the usual classroom setting. I have a strong ambition to use my knowledge to develop a career within the financial sector.
Business studies has allowed me to study both businesses as a whole and also those with delegated departments for working. One of the main components of a business is investment; I gained a personal insight of this while doing the IFS investor challenge as part of my extracurricular work in class. A memorable point in my AS study was financial planning. This helped me gain a great concept of how to fund both small and large businesses. I believe that I hold many of the key attributes of a business leader, which was proven during my position as Managing Director of our Young Enterprise company, New Vision. The team consisted of 14 members and was set on designing a student planner from recycled photo frames. Motivation was a pivotal part of Young Enterprise as it was important to keep every team member set on reaching our goals. Delegation was also a key part of leadership as it important to spread work evenly within a business by trusting members to complete the work set. Young Enterprise was a great method of advancing my work in AS business without relying solely on a textbook. My hard work and dedication helped me earn a judge’s distinction for my individual work throughout the journey.
Economics is a key point of business which has become core knowledge in my Economics A-level course. In December I attended a seminar at The Institute of Education in London named “Economics in Action”. This talk featured a variety of economists who each gave their view on our ever-changing economy. One presentation I had particular interest in was by a PhD student whose view was that tackling tax avoidance was vital to the UK’s economy due to the money being sent abroad to foreign banks. Is it really fair for small businesses to fail while those that can afford it are using loopholes in order to raise their profits? These questions are necessary in the business world as it’s not only vital to run your own firm correctly but also necessary to keep tabs on your close competitor’s methods of survival. Studying geography has played a strong part in my economic understanding, with many units having a core economic element added to it. One of my current topics is “World Cities” which focuses on every aspect of the developed world. Location is a key part to a business and I often incorporate my geography knowledge into the benefits of certain locations. A study trip to Swanage also allowed me to see in person how the shops are now moving further afield to help cut costs in renting. Case studies have also allowed me to see how this is happening even further afield in places such as New Delhi. Geography has helped make my understanding truly international.
During July I also did a week of work experience within the City, gaining an insight into the financial markets. I was based within Lloyds of London and was able to see the journey of insurance contracts meeting firm’s specific requirements. I also currently hold a weekend job as a receptionist which has given me a good experience in customer interaction. With sixth form study combined with real world experience, I believe that University will further my interest in managing a business and prove a valuable asset to not just work but day to day life. I aim to contribute as much as I take out from this course and would truly show my potential in business.

International business personal statement example 6.
Studying international business at degree level will enable me to explore, in depth, a range of stimulating and interdisciplinary topics, which I feel will facilitate a deeper understanding of the forever-evolving business world. Business has always interested me and studying it at degree level will broaden my career opportunities. Studying geography, along with business, has given me an insight on how the fundamentals of commerce have an impact on both economically developed and economically developing countries globally. I have chosen to follow the international business route, as I will be able to apply the geography knowledge I have gained over the years and use that to widen my understanding in business . In the upcoming months, I will be taking part in work experience for JHI marketing, a company who specialise in marketing arts, live events, theatre and entertainment. I hope that this work experience will be as fulfilling as the business project I undertook in Year 11, where the challenge was to create a business idea, formulate a plan and deliver the business with the intention of achieving profitable outcomes. The team I led did in-fact make a profit and from that point in time my imagination was stimulated, my choice of career path cemented.
Most of the research that I have conducted has highlighted several core ingredients integral to a successful business model; effective communication, creativity when exploring gaps in a potential market, perseverance, resilience and an ability to be productive under pressure are amongst those ingredients. I have focused recently upon developing each of these components; in order to build upon my communication skills I have started a part time job where dealing with the public is central to my duties. I have learnt to be diplomatic, empathetic and pragmatic. I am currently developing an idea, which could improve grocery shopping for UK households. Although the project is in the preliminary stages, I am excited about the prospects. My ability to work under-pressure progresses daily, not only because of my academic responsibilities but also working as a customer service assistant where I manage the needs of the company’s customers and clients.
I derived great satisfaction from participating in the Youth Health Champion course, which enabled me to become a peer mentor to students in the younger years; where students had emotional, social or physical needs, I acted as the first point of contact and supported where possible. In addition to this, it was a real privilege to be elected as one of five senior prefects for my last year in secondary education and I take this responsibility seriously; the younger members of the school benefit from having positive role models. Helping to host open-mornings and parent information evenings is easy for some as they are naturally extroverted but I have had to make a conscious effort to improve my public speaking. It has been a challenge but my confidence has increased immeasurably.
Ultimately, I hope to pursue a career in global marketing. My life-experiences so far, along with the opportunities that I will be afforded at university, will assist my in that pursuit. I am prepared to work hard, work independently and at times work outside the box

My wish is to study in the UK as UK education is known for the professions. And as for my graduation level of study, I want to build my academic skills strongly so I choose the UK. The study environment in my country is quite different and we get to study with only the national students. Furthermore, the political chaos makes it harder for students to get a degree without any delay. On the other hand, the UK has a great multicultural and diversified student community which is an opportunity for me to learn with a lot of students from different nationalities. UK education brand is highly respected by employers in our country as UK degree prepare graduates with academic competencies, developed personal and professional skills that are imperative for organizational success. The transferrable skills graduates carry forward from the UK are pivotal for transforming organisational growth and gain competitive advantages. A recent Survey of International Graduate Outcomes 2019 by Universities UK International produced by iGraduate shows that 82% of international graduates say that their UK degrees are worth the financial investment and a similar number of graduates say that they are satisfied or very satisfied with their careers. Nearly 83% feel that a UK degree has helped them to get jobs. These aspects have driven my ambition to gain the degree from a UK institution.
My choice is the University of East London because it incredibly welcomes international students and includes content and structure with a distinct focus on the international context and professional level. In addition, University of East London is dedicated to supporting international students to develop the skills, mental intelligence and creativity needed to improve in a constantly changing world and the competitive job market. To support students the University have invested heavily in their facilities to shape the physical and intellectual environment of learning. The university is ranked 801st in the QS World University Rankings by Top Universities and has an overall score of 4.1 stars, according to student reviews in the study portals. In addition, the university offers modern and secure on-campus accommodation which will add extra convenience and experience for international students. In addition, the university has a good reputation for teaching, research and business partnerships. Moreover, The University works hard to ensure that all students reach their full potential. I will look no further if I get this opportunity to study at the University of East London.
