Watching movies is a part of almost everyone’s life. They entertain us, teach us lessons, and even help us socialize by giving us topics to talk about with others. As long as movies have been produced, everyone has patronized them.  Essays about movies  are a great way to learn all about the meaning behind the picture.

Cinema is an art form in itself. The lighting, camera work, and acting in the most widely acclaimed movies are worthy of praise. Furthermore, a movie can be used to send a message, often discussing issues in contemporary society. Movies are entertaining, but more importantly, they are works of art. “Films encourage us to take action. Our favourite characters, superheroes, teach us life lessons. They give us ideas and inspiration to do everything for the better instead of just sitting around, waiting for things to go their way. Films about famous personalities are the perfect way to affect social behaviour positively. Films are a source of knowledge. They can help learn what’s in the trend, find out more about ancient times, or fill out some knowledge gaps.”

In this movie essay, Rathod gives readers three ways watching movies can positively affect us. Movie writers, producers, and directors use their platform to teach viewers life skills, the importance of education, and the contrast between good and evil. Watching movies can also help us improve critical thinking, according to Briggs. Not only do movies entertain us, but they also have many educational benefits. “Many people involving children and adults can effect with their sleeping disturbance and anxiety. Myths, non-realistic, fairy tales could respond differently with being in the real world. Horror movies bring a lot of excitement and entertainment among you and your family. Horror movies can cause physical behavior changes in a person by watching the films. The results of watching horror movies shows that is has really effect people whether you’re an adult, teens, and most likely happens during your childhood.”

In his essay, Briggs acknowledges why people enjoy horror movies so much but warns of their adverse effects on viewers. Most commonly, they cause viewers nightmares, which may cause anxiety and sleep disorders. He focuses on the films’ effects on children, whose more sensitive, less developed brains may respond with worse symptoms, including major trauma. The films can affect all people negatively, but children are the most affected.

“This was the message of Casablanca in late 1942. It was the ideal opportunity for America to utilize its muscles and enter the battle. America was to end up the hesitant gatekeeper of the entire world. The characters of Casablanca, similar to the youthful Americans of the 1960s who stick headed the challenge development, are ‘genuine Americans’ lost in a hostile region, battling to open up another reality.”

In this essay, the author discusses the 1942 film  Casablanca , which is said to be the greatest movie ever made, and explains why it has gotten this reputation. To an extent, the film’s storyline, acting, and even relatability (it was set during World War II) allowed it to shine from its release until the present. It invokes feelings of bravery, passion, and nostalgia, which is why many love the movie. You can also check out these  books about adaption .

4.   Dune Review: An Old Story Reshaped For The New 2021 Audience by Oren Cohen

“Lady Jessica is a powerful woman in the original book, yet her interactions with Paul diminish her as he thinks of her as slow of thought. Something we don’t like to see in 2021 — and for a good reason. Every book is a product of its time, and every great storyteller knows how to adapt an old story to a new audience. I believe Villeneuve received a lot of hate from diehard Dune fans for making these changes, but I fully support him.”

Like the previous essay, Cohen reviews a film, in this case, Denis Villeneuve’s  Dune , released in 2021. He praises the film, writing about its accurate portrayal of the epic’s vast, dramatic scale, music, and, interestingly, its ability to portray the characters in a way more palatable to contemporary audiences while staying somewhat faithful to the author’s original vision. Cohen enjoyed the movie thoroughly, saying that the movie did the book justice.

“Those travelers added around 630 million New Zealand dollars ($437 million) to the country’s economy in 2019 alone, the tourism authority told CNBC. A survey by the tourism board, however, showed that almost one in five Kiwis are worried that the country attracts too many tourists. Overcrowding at tourist spots, lack of infrastructure, road congestion and environmental damage are creating tension between locals and visitors, according to a 2019 report by Tourism New Zealand.”

The locations where successful movies are filmed often become tourist destinations for fans of those movies. Goel writes about how “film tourism” affects the residents of popular filming locations. The environment is sometimes damaged, and the locals are caught off guard. Though this is not always the case, film tourism is detrimental to the residents and ecosystem of these locations. 6. Moonage Daydream:  “Who Is He? What Is He?” by Jonathan Romney

“Right from the start, Brett Morgen’s  Moonage Daydream  (2022) catches us off guard. It begins with an epigraph musing on Friedrich Nietzsche’s proclamation that “God is dead,” then takes us into deep space and onto the surface of the moon. It then unleashes an image storm of rockets, robots, and star-gazers, and rapid-fire fragments of early silent cinema, 1920s science fiction, fifties cartoons, and sixties and seventies newsreel footage, before lingering on a close-up of glittery varnish on fingernails.”

Moonage Daydream  is a feature film containing never-before-seen footage of David Bowie. In this essay, Romney delves into the process behind creating the movie and how the footage was captured. It also looks at the director’s approach to creating a structured and cohesive film, which took over two years to plan. This essay looks at how Bowie’s essence was captured and preserved in this movie while displaying the intricacies of his mind.

7. La Bamba:  American Dreaming, Chicano Style by Yolanda Machado

“A traumatic memory, awash in hazy neutral tones, arising as a nightmare. Santo & Johnny’s mournful “Sleep Walk” playing. A sudden death, foreshadowing the passing of a star far too young. The opening sequence of Luis Valdez’s  La Bamba  (1987) feels like it could be from another film—what follows is largely a celebration of life and music.”

La Bamba  is a well-known movie about a teenage Mexican migrant who became a rock ‘n’ roll star. His rise to fame is filled with difficult social dynamics, and the star tragically dies in a plane crash at a young age. In this essay, Machado looks at how the tragic death of the star is presented to the viewer, foreshadowing the passing of the young star before flashing back to the beginning of the star’s career. Machado analyses the storyline and directing style, commenting on the detailed depiction of the young star’s life. It’s an in-depth essay that covers everything from plot to writing style to direction.

5 Prompts for Essays About Movies

Simple and straightforward, write about your favorite movie. Explain its premise, characters, and plot, and elaborate on some of the driving messages and themes behind the film. You should also explain why you enjoy the movie so much: what impact does it have on you? Finally, answer this question in your own words for an engaging piece of writing.

From horror to romance, movies can fall into many categories. Choose one of the main genres in cinema and discuss the characteristics of movies under that category. Explain prevalent themes, symbols, and motifs, and give examples of movies belonging to your chosen genre. For example, horror movies often have underlying themes such as mental health issues, trauma, and relationships falling apart.

Without a doubt, special effects in movies have improved drastically. Both practical and computer-generated effects produce outstanding, detailed effects to depict situations most would consider unfathomable, such as the vast space battles of the  Star Wars  movies. Write about the development of special effects over the years, citing evidence to support your writing. Be sure to detail key highlights in the history of special effects.

Movies are always made to be appreciated by viewers, but whether or not they enjoy them varies, depending on their preferences. In your essay, write about what you look for in a “good” movie in terms of plot, characters, dialogue, or anything else. You need not go too in-depth but explain your answers adequately. In your opinion, you can use your favorite movie as an example by writing about the key characteristics that make it a great movie.

Essays About Movies: The evolution of movies

From the silent black-and-white movies of the early 1900s to the vivid, high-definition movies of today, times have changed concerning movies. Write about how the film industry has improved over time. If this topic seems too broad, feel free to focus on one aspect, such as cinematography, themes, or acting.

My Favorite Movie Star

The art or occupation of performing fictional roles in plays, films or television is called acting. Movies are an absolute joy to watch, With the action-packed fight sequences coupled with romantic and light-hearted moments, it is understandable to know why watching movies is such a popular pastime. However, what keeps me glued to the screen is the acting. There are a lot of famous, talented actors and actresses in the world. Without good actors, the movie would be nothing. There are many actors and actresses whom I love to watch. However, my favorite actor is Tom Cruise. He’s well known all over the world.

Tom Cruise is an American actor and producer. He has received three nominations for the Oscar for the best actor and is one of the top 100 movie stars of all time.

Tom Cruise first shot to fame with his portrayal of Ethan Hunt in the great hit movie Mission Impossible. The movie’s success was credited mostly to its engaging storyline, high-tech gadgetry, and Tom Cruise’s talented acting. The success of Mission Impossible resulted in the release of two sequels to the film which did equally well worldwide. All these movies presented Tom Cruise’s ability to perform gravity-defying, gun-wielding stunts himself which almost rendered the stuntman obsolete. The only other actor who performed dangerous stunts was Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones.

Besides acting in high-octane action movies, Tom Cruise has also acted in heartwarming movies such as Jerry Mcguire. His role in the movie as a lawyer and executive was executed to near perfection. I can remember nearly succumbing to tears as I watched his role facing repeated failures before achieving victory. The movie garnered much support from both fans and critics of the actor. Tom Cruise then, much to my delight, went on to win an Oscar for his performance in the movie.

Tom Cruise’s personal life is just as extraordinary as his acting career. Most of his friends are celebrities who include David Beckham and Oprah Winfrey. He had been seen going out with most of Hollywood’s A-list actresses before finally tying the knot with Nicole Kidman. The couple adopted two children before going their separate ways. Tom Cruise then married Katie Holmes, another up-coming actress.

All in all, Tom Cruise can be considered one of the most famous actors in the world. He has been in the movie scene for almost two decades but shows no sign of retiring. He has never ceased to enthrall audiences with his acting prowess and me, as well as millions of fans around the world, hope to see more of his movies in cinemas worldwide. He contributed to the film industry, has shown his talent and has played in several wonderful films.

Who Is Your Favorite Actor?

A guest writer shares his love and admiration for Tom Cruise, who has captivated him for more than 40 years. Which actor has inspired you, moved you or touched your heart?

A collage of images of Tom Cruise in various acting roles.

By Jeremy Engle

Are you a big fan of acting, whether on the silver screen, your television set or a theater stage? What are the qualities that you think makes a great actor? Who are your favorite actors and why?

In a guest essay, “ My Life With Tom Cruise ,” Nathan Englander writes about his love and admiration for the “Top Gun” and “Mission: Impossible” actor over the past four decades:

The other night, after the dishes were washed, the coffee machine set, the dog let out and the kids asleep, I planted myself on the couch with the TV remote in one hand, scrolling, and my phone in the other, scrolling. Settling on the bigger screen, I clicked on “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” to find Tom Cruise dangling by his fingertips from a Russian cargo plane while sporting a business casual suit. I thought: He looks great up there — how old is that guy with the superhuman grip strength? Turns out he was exactly where I am now. Not hanging by my fingertips, but newly 53. Mr. Cruise’s birthday had just passed when “Rogue Nation” premiered in 2015. Getting all reflective, I thought about how Mr. Cruise is one of the few actors to keep my — and our — unbroken attention for so long. And in this sequel-laden era, he somehow manages to age agelessly between installments while keeping those new chapters feeling fresh. I thought about how, just shy of a decade older than I am, Mr. Cruise really has been at my side for pretty much my whole life.

Mr. Englander wonders aloud, “How can one person manage to keep the public gaze for more than 40 years?”

Not only does Mr. Cruise defy the sort of wear and tear that most of us call “existing,” he does it without seeming ridiculous. The best example might be the most current: Mr. Cruise in “Top Gun: Maverick,” which is vying for an Academy Award for best picture on Sunday night. For those who haven’t seen the “Top Gun” sequel, it’s about an old man (Mr. Cruise), the sole member of a squadron of collagen-rich pilots at their Hollywood peak who has the skill to save America from — from whom? Your guess is as good as mine. The enemy has no flag, no ethnicity, no religion or style of governance. It would be a classic jingoist film, but today — like school lunches and peanuts — it is jingo free. Which highlights the ability of Mr. Cruise, a producer of “Maverick,” to pivot with the times. And to me, that capacity to read the current moment and step confidently into a role is a far better and more appealing way to stay young than whatever is gained by passing on every slice of buttered toast or never stepping, brimless, into the bright light of day. I think it’s more the internal youthfulness than the external that keeps me watching, that solid self-assurance — or at least the fantasy of it — that Mr. Cruise continues to deliver that delivers for me. I know we’re talking about a public persona more than a person, but the insane kind of certainty he radiates is reassuring and so different from the internalized terror and second-guessing that fiction writers like me feed on. And it doesn’t feel as if he’s still making movies to cash a check, big as they are.

He concludes the essay:

At the end of his speech at the 2023 Producers Guild Awards last month, Mr. Cruise said , “I want to thank all the audiences for whom I serve first and foremost for allowing me to entertain you.” With 40 years behind us, I’m planning to stay along for the rest of the ride.

Students, read the entire article and then tell us:

Who is your favorite actor and why? Using the essay as inspiration, tell us what accounts for her or his greatness: What makes that person appealing or admirable? How has that actor touched your heart?

What do you think makes a good actor — on the big screen or on the small stage? Personality, charisma, technique, emotional range, ability to inhabit the character? You may read The Times’s “ 10 Best Actors of the Year ” or “ 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century (So Far) ” to help with your response.

Are you a fan of Tom Cruise? Have you seen “Top Gun: Maverick” or any other of his more than 40 films? Mr. Englander writes, “I think it’s more the internal youthfulness than the external that keeps me watching, that solid self-assurance — or at least the fantasy of it — that Mr. Cruise continues to deliver that delivers for me.” Do you agree that Mr. Cruise’s fantasy of self-assurance is essential to his longevity and charm? Does Mr. Englander’s paean to the Hollywood superstar make you appreciate him more?

Mr. Englander writes that “Mr. Cruise really has been at my side for pretty much my whole life.” Are there any actors who have been at your side throughout your life? If so, what has their constant presence meant to you?

Have you ever dreamed of becoming an actor? If yes, what would your acting career be like?

Essay on My Favourite Film

Students are often asked to write an essay on My Favourite Film in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on My Favourite Film

Introduction.

My favourite film is “Toy Story”. This animated movie, created by Pixar, is a delightful adventure that brings toys to life.

The story revolves around toys that secretly come to life when humans are not around. Woody, a cowboy doll, and Buzz Lightyear, a space ranger, are the main characters.

Each character is unique, with their own personality. Woody is loyal and brave, while Buzz is adventurous and daring.

“Toy Story” is my favourite film because it’s imaginative, fun, and teaches valuable lessons about friendship and loyalty.

250 Words Essay on My Favourite Film

Every cinephile has that one film that resonates with them on a deeply personal level. For me, that film is Christopher Nolan’s “Inception.” A blend of science fiction and heist thriller, “Inception” is a cinematic masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of storytelling and visual effects.

Plot and Characters

The plot revolves around Dom Cobb, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, a skilled thief who steals secrets from people’s subconscious while they dream. The film takes a thrilling turn when Cobb is tasked with planting an idea into someone’s mind, a process known as inception. The ensemble cast, including Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Tom Hardy, deliver stellar performances that add depth to the complex narrative.

Cinematic Techniques

Nolan’s use of cinematic techniques is nothing short of spectacular. The film’s dream sequences are visually stunning, and the use of practical effects provides a sense of realism that enhances the viewing experience. The non-linear storytelling keeps the audience engaged, constantly challenging them to discern between dream and reality.

“Inception” explores several profound themes, such as the nature of reality, the power of ideas, and the struggle with guilt and redemption. These themes are woven seamlessly into the narrative, prompting viewers to question their perceptions and reflect on their own experiences.

“Inception” is more than just a film; it is an immersive experience that invites viewers to journey into the depths of the subconscious. It is my favourite film because it combines thought-provoking themes with innovative storytelling and stunning visuals, making it a compelling cinematic experience.

500 Words Essay on My Favourite Film

My favourite film, “Inception,” directed by Christopher Nolan, is a cinematic masterpiece that delves into the intricate complexities of the human mind. Its unique blend of science fiction and heist thriller genres, coupled with an exceptional cast and thought-provoking narrative, make it a film that continues to captivate me.

“Inception” explores the concept of dream manipulation, where a group of ‘extractors’ infiltrates the subconscious mind to steal or implant ideas. The film’s protagonist, Dom Cobb (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), is an expert extractor who is offered a chance to erase his criminal past by performing an ‘inception’ – planting an idea in someone’s mind. The plot’s intricacy, the layering of dreams within dreams, and the exploration of the subconscious mind’s labyrinth make it an intellectual feast.

Characterization

The characters in “Inception” are well-rounded and complex, each contributing to the story’s depth. Dom Cobb’s struggle with his haunting past, the ambitious architect Ariadne (Ellen Page), and the enigmatic businessman Saito (Ken Watanabe) all add to the film’s richness. The character development is subtle yet profound, adding layers of emotional depth to the intricate plot.

Nolan’s use of cinematic techniques in “Inception” is another aspect that makes it my favourite film. The innovative special effects, particularly the dream sequences, are visually stunning. The rotating hallway fight scene, the crumbling cityscape, and the weightless elevator sequence are unforgettable. The film’s non-linear narrative structure, combined with Hans Zimmer’s haunting score, creates an immersive viewing experience.

Themes and Symbolism

“Inception” is rich in themes and symbolism, exploring concepts such as reality versus illusion, guilt, and redemption. The spinning top, Cobb’s totem, symbolizes his struggle to distinguish reality from dreams. The film also delves into the power of ideas, suggesting that a single idea can define or destroy one’s life. These themes provoke introspection, making the film a philosophical exploration of the human psyche.

“Inception” is a film that transcends the boundaries of conventional storytelling. Its thought-provoking narrative, complex characters, innovative cinematic techniques, and philosophical themes make it a film that resonates with me on many levels. It is a film that encourages viewers to question their perception of reality and the power of their subconscious mind. For its intellectual depth, emotional resonance, and cinematic brilliance, “Inception” remains my favourite film.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

I just hope that this movie will change the thinking of parents and society. I have seen this movie so many times with my family. Every aspect of this movie, from cast to location selection is amazing. All the actors have done an amazing job. I really cried while seeing this movie. I know, I will never get bored from this movie.

Essay on My Favorite Movie Harry Potter

My love for movies started when I was a kid, and ever since then, movies have been my favorite pastime. From action-packed thrillers to romantic comedies, there’s a movie genre for every mood. But if I have to pick just one movie as my all-time favorite, hands down it would be the Harry Potter series.

For those who are not familiar with the name, Harry Potter is a fictional character created by British author J.K. Rowling. The series consists of seven books and eight movies, which follows the journey of a young wizard named Harry Potter, who discovers his true identity as “The Chosen One” and battles against the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort.

I was first introduced to Harry Potter when I was in elementary school, and I still remember the excitement of reading the books for the first time. The magical world of Hogwarts, spells, potions, and flying broomsticks had me completely captivated. As a kid, I would often daydream about receiving my acceptance letter to Hogwarts and attending classes with Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

When the movies were released, I was ecstatic! It was a dream come true to see my favorite characters and their adventures brought to life on the big screen. The cast, especially Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, did an incredible job of portraying their characters and staying true to the books.

One of the things I love most about the Harry Potter series is the way it tackles important themes such as love, friendship, courage, and good vs. evil. The characters face challenges and overcome them by staying true to their values and relying on each other for support. This message of unity and strength in the face of adversity resonated with me, and I believe it’s one of the reasons why the series has such a huge fan base.

Moreover, the world-building in the Harry Potter series is impeccable. J.K. Rowling’s attention to detail and ability to create a vivid and complex magical world is truly impressive. From Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade, each location has its own unique charm and adds depth to the story. The spells and magical creatures introduced in the series are also fascinating, and I love how each one has its own history and significance.

Apart from the story and characters, the music in the Harry Potter movies is another aspect that makes them stand out for me. The iconic theme song composed by John Williams never fails to give me chills, and it perfectly captures the essence of the series. The rest of the soundtrack is also beautifully crafted and adds to the overall magical atmosphere of the movies.

As I grew older, my love for the Harry Potter series only intensified. I started noticing and appreciating the deeper themes and symbolism in the story that went beyond just a tale of magic and adventure. The series also taught me valuable life lessons about courage, friendship, and standing up for what is right.

Even today, I find myself re-reading the books and re-watching the movies whenever I need a break from reality. The Harry Potter series has become a timeless classic, and I believe it will continue to capture the hearts of audiences for generations to come.

In conclusion, the Harry Potter series holds a special place in my heart as my all-time favorite movie. It’s not just about magic and adventure, but it’s a story about love, friendship, and overcoming challenges. The series has sparked my imagination and taught me valuable life lessons that I will carry with me forever. And for that, I will always be grateful to J.K. Rowling for creating such a magical world and to the cast and crew for bringing it to life on the big screen.

My Favorite Movie PK

Are you a big movie fan? Do you ever find yourself eagerly waiting for new releases, rewatching old classics, and discussing plot twists with your friends? If so, then you probably understand the feeling of having a favorite movie. For me, that movie is PK.

Released in 2014, PK is an Indian satirical comedy-drama directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film stars Aamir Khan as the lead character, an alien who lands on earth and becomes stranded when his remote control to return home is stolen. He then embarks on a journey to retrieve it and encounters various aspects of human society, including religion, superstition, and love.

The first time I watched PK, I was blown away by its unique concept and thought-provoking message. The film uses comedy to address serious issues, making it both entertaining and meaningful. It challenges societal norms and beliefs, encouraging viewers to think critically about their own values.

One of the things I love most about PK is its ability to make me laugh while also making me reflect on larger societal issues. The character of PK himself is endearing and hilarious, with his childlike innocence and curiosity about human behaviors. Aamir Khan’s performance as PK is outstanding, bringing the character to life in a way that captures the audience’s hearts.

The film also has a stellar supporting cast, including Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Boman Irani. Each actor delivers a memorable performance, adding depth and complexity to the film’s themes. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, making their relationships feel authentic and relatable.

One of the most impactful aspects of PK is its commentary on religion. The film presents a thought-provoking argument against blind faith and superstition, showcasing how religious leaders can exploit people’s beliefs for personal gain.

It also highlights the importance of questioning and understanding one’s own beliefs rather than blindly following societal norms. This message resonated with me deeply and has stayed with me long after watching the film.

In addition to its thought-provoking themes, PK also boasts stunning cinematography and a captivating soundtrack. The music adds emotion and depth to key scenes, enhancing the overall viewing experience. The film’s settings, from the bustling streets of Mumbai to the tranquil beauty of Rajasthan, further immerse viewers into PK’s world.

But what truly makes PK my favorite movie is its ability to make me feel a range of emotions. I laughed at PK’s antics, cried during emotional moments, and felt anger towards societal injustices portrayed in the film. It takes skillful storytelling to evoke such strong emotions from the audience, and PK does it flawlessly.

PK has received both critical and commercial success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. It also won several awards, including Best Film at the 60th Filmfare Awards. However, what matters most to me is its impact on society and its ability to spark important conversations.

The film’s message is timeless and relevant, making it a must-watch for people of all ages and backgrounds.

In conclusion PK is more than just a movie to me. It’s a thought-provoking masterpiece that challenges societal norms and encourages viewers to question their own beliefs. Its unique blend of comedy, drama, and social commentary makes it my favorite movie, one that I will continue to rewatch and recommend to others. If you haven’t seen PK yet, do yourself a favor and add it to your must-watch list. Who knows, it may become your favorite movie too. So, what are you waiting for? Grab some popcorn and hit play on PK – an unforgettable cinematic experience awaits!

Essay on My Favorite Movie Fast and Furious:

The Fast and Furious franchise has been a staple in the action movie genre for over two decades. With its adrenaline-fueled car chases, heart-stopping stunts, and diverse cast of characters, it’s no wonder that this series has become a favorite among fans worldwide.

My love for this franchise began when I first watched The Fast and the Furious back in 2001. From the very first race scene, I was hooked. The sound of revving engines and the sight of sleek cars racing through the streets had me on the edge of my seat. But what truly drew me in was the chemistry between characters Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner.

Their bromance and loyalty to each other despite their differences resonated with me. It’s not just about fast cars and action-packed scenes, but also about the bond of family and friendship that has kept this franchise going strong.

One of the most appealing aspects of the Fast and Furious series is its diverse cast. From street racers to former criminals, each character brings their own unique skills and personalities to the table. And as the franchise grew, so did the representation of different cultures and backgrounds.

The shift from street racing to heists in Fast Five not only upped the ante with thrilling action sequences but also introduced us to fan-favorite characters like Han, Tej, and Roman. Even more diversity was brought to the franchise with strong female characters like Letty, Mia, and most recently Hattie Shaw. Seeing people from all walks of life come together and form a strong bond is what makes this series stand out for me.

But it’s not just the characters that make this franchise special; it’s also the crazy stunts and over-the-top action sequences. From driving cars off cliffs to jumping between skyscrapers, each movie manages to push the limits of what we thought was possible. And the fact that most of these stunts are done practically is a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the cast and crew.

It’s also worth mentioning how well this franchise has evolved over time. From humble beginnings as a street racing movie, it has now become a global phenomenon with spin-offs, video games, and even a live show. The Fast and Furious franchise has proven that it can adapt and continue to entertain audiences with each new installment.

While I have enjoyed all the movies in this franchise, there are a few that stand out for me. Fast Five, in particular, holds a special place in my heart. It was the first movie that fully embraced the heist aspect of the series while still maintaining its signature car chases and fight scenes. The addition of Dwayne Johnson’s character, Luke Hobbs, also added an extra layer of excitement to the movie.

Another favorite of mine is Furious 7. Not only did it have some of the most thrilling action sequences in the franchise, but it also served as a touching tribute to Paul Walker, who tragically passed away during filming. The emotional impact of his absence was felt throughout the movie, and it truly showed how much this cast had become a family both on and off-screen.

In conclusion, the Fast and Furious franchise holds a special place in my heart as my favorite movie series. Its diverse cast, heart-pumping action sequences, and themes of family and friendship make each movie a joy to watch. While the franchise may have started as a simple movie about street racing, it has now become a global phenomenon that continues to entertain audiences worldwide.

And with more movies and spin-offs in the works, I can’t wait to see what other exciting adventures this franchise has in store for us. So, if you haven’t watched any of the Fast and Furious movies yet, I highly recommend you give them a chance and join in on the ride. So buckle up and get ready for some high-speed action with the Fast and Furious franchise!

Essay on My Favorite Movie Twilight:

My favorite movie of all time is Twilight. I know, I know, it may sound cliché but hear me out. The reason why it’s my favorite movie goes beyond the romantic vampire and werewolf love triangle that captured the hearts of millions around the world.

Twilight is not just a typical romance film. It’s a story about self-discovery, acceptance, and the power of love to transcend all boundaries.

The movie is based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer and follows the story of Bella Swan, a teenage girl who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father. There she meets Edward Cullen, a mysterious and handsome vampire who she falls in love with. However, their love is not without challenges as they must navigate the dangerous world of vampires and werewolves while also facing their own personal demons.

One of the reasons why I love this movie is because of its strong female lead. Bella is not your typical damsel in distress waiting to be saved by her prince charming. She is independent, brave, and unafraid to stand up for what she believes in. Her character development throughout the series is inspiring and relatable, making her a role model for young girls everywhere.

Another aspect of the movie that I enjoy is its beautiful cinematography. The stunning scenery of the Pacific Northwest adds to the mystical and enchanting atmosphere of the story. It’s no wonder that fans from all over the world travel to Forks to visit some of the filming locations.

But what makes this movie truly special to me is its theme of love conquering all. Despite their differences, Bella and Edward’s love for each other remains strong and unwavering. It shows that true love knows no boundaries, whether it be race, social status, or even species.

Twilight may have its fair share of critics but for me, it will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s not just a movie, it’s a reminder that love is the most powerful force in the world and can overcome any obstacle.

In conclusion, Twilight is more than just a teenage romance movie. It’s a beautiful story about love, growth, and acceptance. Its captivating characters, breathtaking scenery, and timeless message make it my all-time favorite movie. It’s a film that I can watch over and over again, always finding something new to love about it. And for that, it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

So the next time someone asks me why Twilight is my favorite movie, I’ll simply smile and say “because it’s not just a movie, it’s a love story that transcends all boundaries.” So, if you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend giving it a chance and experiencing the magic of Twilight for yourself. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Essay on My Favorite Movie Dangal:

As a movie buff, I have watched hundreds of movies spanning different genres. But there is one movie that stands out amongst them all and holds a special place in my heart – Dangal.

Dangal is an Indian sports biographical drama based on the real-life story of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat and Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra as his daughters. The film was released in 2016 and has since become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

What makes Dangal my favorite movie is not just its box office success, but the powerful message it delivers. The film challenges societal norms and stereotypes by showcasing the struggle of a father who defies all odds to train his daughters in a male-dominated sport like wrestling. It breaks gender barriers and inspires young girls to pursue their dreams, no matter how unconventional they may seem.

Apart from its impactful message, Dangal also delivers exceptional performances by its lead actors. Aamir Khan once again proves his versatility as an actor with his portrayal of Mahavir Singh Phogat. He not only physically transforms himself to play the role of a wrestler but also brings out the emotional side of a father who is determined to see his daughters succeed. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra also shine in their roles as the Phogat sisters, displaying strong-willed and determined characters.

The film’s screenplay and direction are top-notch, keeping the audience engaged from start to finish. The wrestling scenes are choreographed brilliantly, making them look realistic and intense. The soundtrack of the movie is another highlight, with songs like “Dangal” and “Haanikaarak Bapu” becoming instant hits.

In addition to its commercial success, Dangal has also received critical acclaim. The film won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and three Filmfare Awards. It was also India’s official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

In conclusion, Dangal is a movie that has it all – a powerful message, exceptional performances, and top-notch execution. It not only entertains but also educates and inspires its audience. For me, it will always remain my favorite movie and one that I highly recommend to everyone. So if you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a favor and add it to your must-watch list. You won’t be disappointed. So, keep watching amazing movies!

Short Essay on My Favorite Movie Bahubali:

Bahubali is an epic Indian movie that swept the nation off its feet with its grandeur, action-packed scenes, and compelling storyline. Released in 2015, this movie was a game-changer for Indian cinema as it broke all box office records and took the world by storm.

Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, Bahubali tells the story of two brothers, Amarendra Bahubali and Bhallaladeva, who fight for the throne of the ancient kingdom of Mahishmati. The movie is set in a fictional world filled with political intrigue, love, war, and betrayal.

One of the reasons I fell in love with this movie is its incredible action sequences. From sword fights to larger-than-life battle scenes, Bahubali has it all. The special effects and CGI used in the movie are top-notch and make the fight scenes even more captivating.

But what truly sets Bahubali apart is its strong characters, especially its female lead Devasena. She is a fierce warrior who can hold her ground against any opponent. Her character challenges traditional gender roles and stands out as a symbol of strength and resilience.

Apart from the action, Bahubali also has a heart-wrenching love story between Amarendra Bahubali and Devasena. Their chemistry is palpable, and their love for each other is portrayed beautifully on screen. This adds an emotional depth to the movie that makes it even more impactful.

Moreover, what I admire about Bahubali is how it showcases the rich culture and traditions of India. The sets, costumes, and music all beautifully capture the essence of Indian mythology and history.

Aside from its entertainment value, Bahubali also has a powerful message about good triumphing over evil. Through the character of Amarendra Bahubali, the movie teaches us that true strength lies in compassion and not violence.

In conclusion, Bahubali will always hold a special place in my heart as it is not just a movie but an experience. It has set the bar high for Indian cinema and has left its mark on audiences worldwide. This movie truly represents the magic of storytelling and proves that with passion and dedication, anything is possible. So, if you haven’t watched Bahubali yet, do yourself a favor and experience this masterpiece for yourself. So, don’t wait any longer and dive into the world of Bahubali – you won’t regret it!

How to Write an Essay on My Favourite Movie

April 29, 2020 David Nusair Misc 0

essay about my favourite film star

When you receive such an assignment, you most probably think that it is the most straightforward task ever, and you will deal with it in an hour or two. Stop right here and erase that thought from your brain, because nothing can be farther from the truth. It is a demanding task, though it can be more engaging than others. Professors know that this assignment seems very simple for students and wait for many to come up with some mediocre essays. With these tips shared by essay experts from WriteMyPaperHub.com who professionally write papers for students, you will be able to surprise your professor.

Watch the movie at least twice

Even if you know it by heart, you need to watch it in a different role now. You are a critic, and you should notice the plot switches, operator’s work, etc., which you normally don’t do when just watching a movie you like. That is why, actually, it is easier to write and analyze the movie you don’t like that much. Watching the second time, make notes, they will be very helpful later.

Start with a hook phrase

“It is my favorite movie” is not a hook phrase; it is a bore. You need to come up with something better if you want your audience to keep reading enthusiastically. Of course, you may argue that your only audience, in this case, is your professor, but it is a good idea not to bore him or her either.

Give brief information about the plot, but don’t go into details

Your task is not to retell the entire movie. You just need to give a general understanding of the plot and plot twists, so the reader can understand the movie’s idea in general. If you go in too many details, it will be a movie’s summary, not review or analysis. Focus on the plot twists that really move the story forward, not the ones you find the most amusing.

Talk about the favorite characters

Again, “I like this character because he is my favorite actor and is very cute in this role” is not an assessment you should add to your academic essay. We believe you wouldn’t, but, unfortunately, many students still do. Describe the characters in terms of their dilemmas, choices, and development. The development of characters along the plot is especially important.

Talk about the context

Every movie is created in social, cultural, political, and many other contexts. Analyzing those contexts and making conclusions about their influence will make your essay look much more professional. Even if you are writing about some silly comedy, you can find some social-cultural jokes, jargon inherent to a particular social group, mentioned political events, etc.

Talk about operators work

It is an important part of any movie. It is not surprising that Oscar for operators work is one of the most valuable ones according to the Academy’s opinion. One of the best examples of stellar operator’s work in recent years is a serial movie Euphoria. Check on it, if you have not seen it yet. Even two episodes can give an understanding of what really cool operators work with it.

Make comparisons with other movies of the same director/screenwriter

Comparisons save essays. If you don’t know what to write about, and you still have several hundreds of words to fill, just start comparing your movie with everything. Compare it with other works of the same director, screenwriter, operator. Compare it to the movies of the same genre. Compare it with the movies of the difference genre, but with a similar set of characters.

Talk about the emotional component

Warning! This part should be really short. You should not burden readers with endless emotional explanations on how the movie changes the world, or how it makes you laugh or cry 20 times per hour. However, it is a good idea to mention several moments that play with emotions and show how, in your opinion, those moments are created.

Talk about the flaws

You cannot write a good review without mentioning some drawbacks. It is not a recommendation to a friend. Find several flaws from different areas — actor’s work, plot twist, etc. and describe it without judging. Remember, you are not a real critic with years of experience, so don’t be a snob.

Don’t forget about grammar check and formatting

No matter how interesting your essay is, if it is poorly formatted or has many grammar and style mistakes, you will fail. Don’t forget about proofreading and read your paper several times before submitting it.

Just follow these tips one after another, and you will come up with a quality paper on time. Don’t mistake this assignment for an easy one; take it seriously. It is a good chance to impress your professor.

Who Are Your Favorite Movie Stars?

Do people still go to the movies to see their favorite stars on the screen? Is Keanu Reeves a good actor? Why are female foreign-film stars generally unknown in the United States? Can an actor be “too good” in a performance? Two New York Times film critics recently answered these reader questions. Which brings us to the question: Who are your favorite film and television actors and stars?

Manohla Dargis and A. O. Scott, the co-chief film critics for The Times, respond to reader questions once a month. In the August installment , they answered several queries about actors and stars, including one about Keanu Reeves:

Q. Is Keanu Reeves a Good Bad Actor or a Bad Good Actor? ROBERT SCHROKO DARGIS Who cares? He’s Keanu Reeves, dude, and an excellent movie star, blessed with a beautiful blank quality that lends itself to our projections and helps explain why he’s been a go-to savior, including in “Johnny Mnemonic,” “Little Buddha,” the “Matrix” trilogy, “The Devil’s Advocate” and “Constantine.” SCOTT Neither! A good actor, period. One who has appeared in some pretty bad movies, for sure. (But who hasn’t?) Mr. Reeves has deliberately exploited both his exquisite facial bone structure and his gift for gnomic blankness with great success in the movies mentioned above, but in those solemn savior roles he demonstrates not stiffness so much as professionalism. Which he also shows in comic and villainous roles in movies as varied as “The Gift,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” and the hugely influential “Bill and Ted” pictures. If you want definitive proof of Mr. Reeves’s skill, look at Ron Howard’s “Parenthood” (yes, I know, but really!), in particular a scene in the kitchen with Dianne Wiest. He has a piece of business with a carton of milk that has stuck in my head for almost a quarter century as an emblem of precise and subtle screen technique. And the more you look at his performances, the more instances of that kind of skill you notice.

Students: Tell us about your favorite movie and TV stars and actors. Why do they appeal to you? Do you make a point of going to see movies and watch shows in which they appear? Which of their performances stand out most in your mind?

Keanu Reeves….a good or bad actor? Neither, he is that worst of all actors………boring! The true measurement of an acting performance is……does it move you and do you believe it. Mr. Reeves’ problem is…….even he doesn’t believe it nor is he moved! A key indicator? His performances as a musician, when he’s done you don’t remember it.

Thank you AOS for not simply pis**** on KR like most critics do. He has done an incredible range of movies and his performances are nuanced and mostly (though of course not always) hit the mark. The problem is that he works in Hollywood where performances have to be hammed up till kingdom come for them to be appreciated. He would’ve been better appreciated in mainland Europe where subtlety is not the exception but the rule.

Seriously – if he was a bad actor, would so many amazing drectors have taken a chance with him? No way.

If I choose an actor/ actress from my mind, I would have to say it would be actually ALL the Harry Potter actors/ actresses. Their actions are completely amazing, and its easy to understand that they feel confident about what they are doing. Of course, for movies there is a lot to go through and stuff, but overall, I love the Harry Potter series, and watching these people almost EXACTLY how I imagined them when reading the books is just incredible. I love the way they act. Its just phenominal.

I agree with Scott that Reeves is unique. He brings a style and addition to Hollywood culture that sticks with you long after the individual film is viewed. Many of his films have moments that stick with his fans and demonstrates his ability to get the job done. What I really appreciate most about Reeves, though, is that he refuses to act like a ham bone searching for a love fest with fans.

keanu Reeves. I think he has a wonderful quality and style about him which he brings to his acting. While he may have been in some “bad movies” if you look at what he did, it was usually quite good. He has performed exceptional and stretched himself in a broad spectrum of roles. I have never been a big fan of science fiction but actually went because Reeves was in it. I must say I left enjoying a movie, I didn’t think I would like.

I agree with Scott- Keanu was great in Parenthood and he really stood out in that scene with Diane Wiest, he was funny yet you are moved by his pain which he tried to hide with his goofiness. In three movies where he played a teenager: Parenthood, Bill & Ted’s, and River’s Edge, he was cast as a troubled teen but his approach to each character was so vastly different I almost thought that there were three different actors in those movies. Funny and moronic in Bill & Ted’s, and sensitive and quiet in River’s Edge. He was charming and gorgeous in Something’s Gotta Give, hateful in The Gift, an a@@hole in Hardball (only in the beginning of the movie) but was truly touching in the church scene during G-baby’s wake. Sure he was bad in Dracula, but well, evenKeanu knows it. Overall, Keanu has done well over the years with his courageous choices of films to act in that he manages to re-invent himself time and again, hence, after 25 years he remains a formidable presence onscreen.

i like matt damon

I don’t know who those people are, but my favorite actor is Taylor Lautner and actress is Emma Stone.

If I had to pick my favorite tv star, it would be Jimmy Fallon. I think he is so charismatic and he’s so darn funny. I really like Conan O’ Brien, but I think he can be really awkward sometimes. It makes him even more funny, though. I try to watch Jimmy Fallon’s show every night.

My favorite movie star is everyone from the Harry Potter films i love them all, especially Tom Felton (Draco) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) the whole series is good, and the books make the whole experience complete.

My favorite movie star would be Adam Sandler. His acting is phenomenal and I quite enjoy all his movies he has starred in. However, his acting abilities isn’t the main reason why I just love the heck out of Sandler, but because of how much inspiration he gives me. He always does things to help out the community and he overall makes me want to become a better person as well. Thanks to him, I want to help out anyone in any way I can. I want to be able to die and feel like I’ve done something to contribute to my community in a beneficial way and feel like a more humbler and prouder human being than before.

My favorite actor is Johnny Depp. I definitely make a point of going to see his movies in theaters. I like how realistic and creative he is when it comes to acting. I feel like he actually is a man with scissors for hands, or a vain pirate captain. His acting, in my opinion is very good. He seems quite passionate about his work, and it is clearly seen in his numerous films.

My favorite movie star is Dwayne The Rock Johnson.

essay about my favourite film star

Paragraph on My Favourite Actor- by Anand

essay about my favourite film star

Introduction:

My favourite actor is Aamir Khan. He is one of the most versatile actors in the Hindi film industry.

Known as ‘Mr. Perfectionist’, Aamir Khan has always enthralled his audience with amazing movies.

I have always been a fan of Aamir Khan ever since I first saw his debut movie ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. Aamir Khan started as the chocolate boy in the film industry and matured as an actor as he did more and more movies. His idea of reading the script first and then selecting the role is what appeals me about him.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

His Movies Which Impacted Me:

Taare Zameen Par:

Aamir Khan’s passion for his movies is very evident. It has been claimed by people in the industry that Aamir involves himself so much in the movie that he almost ghost-directs it. A very pertinent example of the same is his movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’ which was being directed by someone else initially but later was taken over by Aamir Khan. It was a blessing in disguise for the movie as it turned out to be one of the most touching movies of today. People have claimed to have roken down to tears after watching the movie.

Another one of his movies which impacted me was ‘Ghulam’. Ghulam tells the story of a simple and satisfied vagabond who is forced to give up his carefree ways and fight the guy who continuously terrorized the community. The movie was a commercial hit but it was well appreciated by the critics as the movie which left a strong message for the society i.e. the power of unity against oppressive rule.

His latest movie ‘3 idiots’ was the highest grossing movie in Bollywood. Unlike the other high grossers, this movie had emotion, drama, social message etc. the movie was critically acclaimed and proved that Aamir Khan is really the most versatile actor in Bollywood film industry.

Aamir’s Approach to His Movies:

Aamir Khan is not just a volatile actor but a director with a vision different than the others. His movies are usually ones with an underlying message rather than having mindless entertainment. Some of his movies which have received wide acclaim from the film industry and beyond are Lagaan, Sarfarosh, Fanna, Earth, Rang De basanti etc.

His movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ was a movie with which many could associate themselves as it was made very realistic. The aforementioned movies show that he is one of the rare actors/directors who believe in intelligent filmmaking. He is the actor who does just a couple of films each year unlike other actors. He never attends award functions and claims that such awards are superficial in nature and lack credibility.

Conclusion:

Thus, Aamir Khan is one of the best actors in the industry and is my favourite. His movies have been lauded at several prestigious international film festivals including the Cannes, BAFTA’s and the Oscars. Aamir Khan is the living example of how if you are passionate about something you do, you can become perfect at it. This is one of the main reasons why he is my best actor.

I really like The Notebook ; it's a romantic classic. The story is about a poor boy, called Noah, who meets a rich girl, called Allie, and they fall in love over one summer. But of course there are problems. Allie's parents don't approve of Noah because he's poor and they get separated, then a lot of time passes before they can get together again. She goes away to college and he writes to her every day, but she doesn't get the letters. Then after quite a long time, Noah buys an old house which he promised to restore for Allie. He does it up and she sees a newspaper article about it and goes to find him again. You can probably guess the rest, but it's a bit complicated because she is engaged to another man. Noah is played by Ryan Gosling, who's my favourite actor, and he stops the film being too soppy – but you still cry a lot at the end. Rachel McAdams is really good too, as Allie.

I think my favourite film is Skyfall , the last James Bond movie. It stars Daniel Craig again and Javier Bardem is this really evil baddie. They're both great, and so is Judi Dench as M, Bond's boss. It's a bit different to other Bond films. The story is more important, although there is still a lot of action. It's really well filmed, especially in the scenes which are shot in Shanghai and Scotland, and it's really exciting, of course. Bond is also a bit different – although he does amazing things, he seems older and that makes him more human and the story more realistic. Oh, the song by Adele is great, too. You know it won an Oscar?

It's not a very recent film, but I love Pride and Prejudice – the version with Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen as Mr Darcy. The story is really clever and interesting, besides being romantic. It's all about how we tend to jump to conclusions about people and we're often completely wrong. Elizabeth thinks Mr Darcy is stuck up and snobbish at the beginning of the film, but at the end she realises she has been completely wrong and he isn't like that at all. She also realises he has an enormous house and that maybe helps her fall in love with him too! After I saw the film I read the book by Jane Austen and I really recommend that too. Although it was published 200 years ago, it's still a great read and really funny in parts.

My favourite film has to be The Matrix . Even though it was made back in 1999, it still feels really modern. It's about this ordinary man, Neo, played by Keanu Reeves, who works with computers during the day and is a hacker at night. One day he is contacted by a woman who introduces him to a very strange man: Morpheus. Morpheus explains to Neo that what he thinks of as real is actually fiction and the world is run by evil machines who have imprisoned and tricked the human race. Laurence Fishburne is terrific as Morpheus, and Keanu Reeves is excellent, but the best thing about the film is the special effects. I can watch it again and again.

Let the Right One In is my favourite film. There are two versions, the first is Swedish and the second American – I prefer the original, Swedish version. It's a modern vampire film and also a kind of love story, but it's really unsentimental and a bit scary in places. Oskar is a young boy with a lot of problems. He is being bullied at school and wants revenge on the bullies. Then some new neighbours move in next door and he becomes friends with Eli, a beautiful but strange girl. I won't tell you any more, because it will spoil the story, but expect a serial killer, a lot of violence and blood-drinking. If you like that kind of thing, you'll love this.

Essay on My favourite movie

One of my favourite pastimes, the one I have a particular liking for is going to the cinema.
Among different types of movies (like comedies, romantic dramas, adventures, police dramas or detective movies, psychological thrillers, horror movies or historical films) best of all I like detective movies and romantic dramas because most of such movies are interesting and full of life to me. But I also like good horror movies and I find them quite thrilling since my childhood. But now I’d like to tell you about the movie that I find most pleasant to watch. It’s called “What Dreams May Come”. It is a 1998 American fantasy drama, starring Robin Williams. The film is based on the 1978 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson and was directed by Vincent Ward.
It’s a beautiful story about a married couple. Chris (Robin Williams) and Annie (Annabella Sciorra) play husband and wife. They met by chance and fell in love immediately. They have two wonderful kids and a marriage full of love and life. But tragically, one day their kids are taken from them in a car accident. They hold on to their lives and fight the sorrow, but one day, four years later, Chris's life is also taken. He ends up in Heaven, but can't accept his fate. A guide is sent to him, in the form of his friend Albert (Cuba Gooding Jr.). Albert leads Chris on a journey through Heaven. In the real world, Annie can't handle Chris's death, and she kills herself and ends up in Hell. Chris must go on a journey to find her, and save her from an eternity of suffering. This movie hits all the right chords. It makes you laugh and cry at times. The love Chris has for Annie is stronger than anything you have ever seen. He's willing to lose his mind, and spend all eternity in Hell with her, with neither of them recognizing the other because they are soul mates, destined to be together for all the time. This movie is hard to explain in any other way. The journey Chris goes through is remarkable, but the real star of this film is the visuals.
From the opening shot to the closing frame, it is magnificent. The story is enveloping encompassing nearly every asset of human emotion. It's a roller–coaster ride but rewarding. Comedy, hope, sadness, joy, elation, despair... all displayed perfectly. It’s a story about everlasting love and dreams that always come true.
