Step 2: Ask for an outline

With the previously provided information, ask ChatGPT to generate an outline for your presentation. If some of the points listed in the output don’t convince you, then chat with the interface until you reach a final outline. Then, ask to elaborate on each specific point for information or cues you may have overlooked.

Step 3: Ask ChatGPT which content should you place per slide

Instead of debating how are you going to trim your thesis into a presentation format, ask ChatGPT to do the decision process for you. You can be as specific as asking how many words per slide, how many slides should the presentation have, if you need any visual element, etc.

N.B.: We don’t recommend using ChatGPT to retrieve academic references as, in some cases, it can provide faulty results. You can ask if any facts on this presentation need to be checked or similar questions. ChatGPT is a powerful tool, but it shouldn’t be considered a bible, so be extra cautious about grabbing content directly from its outputs.

1. Title Page

This slide should contain the information that is provided on the title page of your hard copy . Here is an example of title page or cover slide for your title defense or thesis presentation.

• The title of your research paper
• Where you are studying
• Name and details of your course
• Name of Adviser

2. Introduction Slide

Your introduction slide should provide the committee with an idea of the following:

• What is the topic area that you are investigating ?
• What are the specific research questions that you set out to answer?

3. Literature Review Slide

• Quick, sudden move surprise is the biggest factor
• Target weak or sensitive areas eyes, neck, middle of chest, and of course ___

• Situations are different. Followed are some self defense moves but keep in mind the basic key points for specific cases.
• Practice self defense with a friend (below moves and other that you can find). Remember practice makes perfect!
• Offender grabs your right wrist with his left hand
• Make a fist with your hand and turn it palm down
• Move toward the outside of his arm
• Shift your elbow towards his elbow (as picture)
• This will pry your arm out without strength
• Move to a safe distance or strike back
• He grabs your right wrist with his right hand.
• Make a fist and turn it palm up.
• Turn towards his right side, bringing your right elbow toward his right elbow.
• Your wrist will pop out due to leverage.
• Opponent grabs both your wrists
• Place hands together (DONT lock your hands)
• Drive close to his stomach area
• Drive hands up his center line
• When his grip slips pull hands back over your shoulder
• Make a wrist or kick back with your heel to the groin
• Or elbow to the chest
• Or stump onto the foot (high heels are extremely effective)
• Pain will get him lighten the grip. Then run!
• Opponent grabs you in a bear hug from behind. The arms are pinned.
• Squat slightly, thrusting your hands forward to release the hold
• Grab his right arm with both hands
• Throw over your shoulder by bending forward then pull both arms to the left. Note dont forget to squat.
• Opponent grabs in a front bear hug
• Grab their hips
• Pivot to make them turn and open the legs
• Send knee strikes into the groin
• The opponent grabs you by the neck with both hands
• Clasp your hands in front of you. (DO NOT interlock your fingers.)
• Squat down about an inch or two
• This will put you in a prayer-like position
• Shoot your hands up and stand straight in an explosive fashion
• Raise your arms completely above your head. This will break the hold.
• Push the opponents arms away on the outside
• RUN!!! Get away as quick as possible!
• Striking with your elbow (note that this is your strongest strike at close distant), or poke in the eyes.
• Remember the sensitive areas
• This should buy you time in these situation to escape

Opinion: Bear Spray More Effective For Self Defense Than Firearms

Which offers better protection? At first glance, this question may seem like a no-brainer. After all, aren’t guns made to kill, while bear spray does not? Most bear sprays boast a capsaicin content of 2 percent, compared with 1.2 to 1.4 percent in most self-defense products. So is bear spray more effective in self defense vs bears and if so, wouldn't that also hold true for self defense in most other situations? What is more dangerous than a charging grizzly bear?

When it comes to self-defense the answer is not as obvious as it may seem. In fact, Experienced hunters are surprised to find that despite the use of firearms against a charging bear, they were attacked and badly hurt. Evidence of human-bear encounters even suggests that shooting a bear can escalate the seriousness of an attack, while encounters where firearms are not used are less likely to result in injury or death of the human or the bear. So with it settled that bear spray is a safer and more effective method of defense vs bears, does this hold true for self-protection in other situations as well?

While firearms can kill a bear, can a bullet kill quickly enough -- and can the shooter be accurate enough -- to prevent a dangerous, even fatal, attack? The question is not one of marksmanship or the ability to take action under duress, for even a skilled marksman with steady nerves may have a slim chance of deterring a bear attack with a gun. Law enforcement agents for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have experience that supports this reality -- based on their investigations of human-bear encounters since 1992, persons encountering grizzlies and defending themselves with firearms suffer injury about 50% of the time.

During the same period, persons defending themselves with bear spray escaped injury most of the time, and those that were injured experienced shorter duration attacks and less severe injuries. Canadian bear biologist Dr. Stephen Herrero reached similar conclusions based on his own research -- a person’s chance of incurring serious injury from a charging grizzly doubles when bullets are fired versus when bear spray is used. So how does this logic apply to self-defense vs assailants of the two legged variety?

 Capsaicin reduces forced expiratory volume in the first second of expsure (FEV 1 ) ( Johansson et al., 2019 ), even led to death in some asthmatics ( Steffee et al., 1995 ). So it should only be used in the event you feel you are in imment danger of serious bodily harm or death. Bear spray is a lot more concentrated than mace or pepper spray as noted above. When hit in the face it is the virtual equivalent of a choke hold that cuts off air supply.

In this video a suspected smash and grabber got away by deploying a can of bear spray against a security guard that was attempting to apprehend him.

From the evidence presented it does appear that bear spray can be an effective self defense tool that also has the benefit of being safer than a gun.

F-16s arrive at Eglin to be modified with self-flying tech

The first three F-16 Fighting Falcons that will be loaded with self-flying technology have arrived at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, the Air Force said Tuesday.

The arrival of the F-16s marks the service’s biggest step forward yet in standing up the program known as Venom , which stands for Viper Experimentation and Next-gen Operations Model-Autonomy Flying Testbed and aims to speed up the testing of autonomous technology on both crewed and uncrewed aircraft.

The Air Force hopes the autonomous technology tested under Venom could help it more quickly shape plans to create a fleet of self-flying drones that team up with crewed fighters in battle, known as collaborative combat aircraft .

The service is heavily focusing on creating a fleet of at least 1,000 CCAs , which will use autonomous capabilities to fly alongside aircraft such as the F-35 or future Next-Generation Air Dominance family of fighter systems. These drone wingmen would carry missiles or other weapons to strike enemy targets, jam enemy signals through electronic warfare operations or perform reconnaissance missions.

The Air Force is increasingly confident autonomous capabilities have advanced to the point where such aircraft can succeed. But officials say there are still a lot of questions to answer about how the technology will work in action, which led the service to launch Project Venom with a nearly $50 million investment this year.

The service eventually plans to modify six F-16s to serve as test aircraft as part of Venom. It has requested another $7 million for the program in 2025, with the following years’ budgets ranging from $6.1 million to $6.6 million.

Maj. Ross Elder, the program’s developmental test lead, said in an Air Force statement Venom will represent a step toward “a new age of aviation.”

“The Venom program marks a pivotal chapter in the advancement of aerial combat capabilities,” he said.

The 96th Test Wing’s 40th Flight Test Squadron and 53rd Wing’s 85th Test and Evaluation Squadron at Eglin will work together to carry out Venom’s developmental and operational testing.

“Having both [developmental test] and [operational test] pilots working and flying from the same location allows for daily collaboration and reduces the stovepiping of knowledge and lessons learned,” said Lt. Col. Jeremy Castor, who is in charge of Venom’s operational testing.

When Venom’s self-flying F-16s are ready, the Air Force will start testing them with human pilots in the cockpit. Those pilots will take off with the jets and fly them to a testing location, and then allow the autonomous programming to take over in midair. The pilots in the cockpit will keep track of the autonomous software to see whether it works as intended, and make sure all the test objectives are met.

Lt. Col. Joe Gagnon, squadron commander of the 85th, said a human will at all times be ready to start and stop the autonomous algorithms if needed.

“There will never be a time where the Venom aircraft will solely fly by itself without a human component,” he added.

7:01 PM PT -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD tells TMZ that the delivery driver in question did in fact claim self-defense on this matter ... and it sounds like the cops are letting it be.

They say, "The investigation revealed that a delivery driver arrived at the residence to deliver consumable goods. The driver told officers that a dog attacked him while he was at the residence and that he defended himself by firing a single gunshot, striking and mortally wounding the dog. Another dog was present at the residence but did not attack."

They go on to say that no criminal charges have been filed over this, and that CMPD's Animal Control got in the mix as well. They're not seeking out any other parties either.

Angie Harmon is devastated after her dog, Oliver, was shot and killed by a deliveryman over Easter weekend.

The actress shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram Monday ... claiming an InstaCart shopper shot the precious pup after delivering groceries to their home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Angie says the incident wasn't caught on their security camera as it was being charged at the time of the shooting. The 51-year-old star claims the delivery person knew the camera wasn't functional and that's when he made his move to shoot the dog.

No charges have been filed against the alleged shooter ... Angie says the delivery guy claimed self-defense when he spoke to cops. Angie says that's BS, adding, "He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn."

Per her account, the deliveryman admitted to the shooting -- which Angie says took place while her kids were home, saying, "We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member."

Angie slammed the man on her Instagram Story, calling his actions despicable and inexcusable. She also highlighted his InstaCart profile, which shows him using the name Merle .

InstaCart has since responded to Angie's allegations, telling TMZ ... "We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We have no tolerance for violence of any kind."

The spokesperson confirmed the delivery person was immediately suspended from their platform ... and said they're cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.
