SPPU Ph.D. Entrance Examination (PET) 2022 Notification

Online Applications are invited by the Savitribai Phule Pune University from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. programme in the University Departments & Recognized Research Centres.

Candidate shall be admitted to Ph.D. programme by a two stage process through: –

a) Entrance Examination, which shall be a qualifying test. The Entrance Examination will be of 100 marks with multiple choice type questions. b) Personal Interview of candidates qualifying in Entrance Test/ Candidates exempted from Entrance Examination, to be conducted as per procedure prescribed in due course”

SPPU PET 2022  Entrance Test Paper consists of 2 Parts

a) Research Methodology : 50 Marks b) Subject Specific : 50 Marks Total : 100 Marks Total Questions : 100

All questions shall be with multiple choices, each correct answer carries I Mark. No negative marking system.

1. SPPU PET 2022 Schedule of Entrance Test

a) Date of online Ph.D. Entrance Examination :06th November 2022 b) Commencement of filling online applications :15th September 2022 c) L ast date of filling online applications : 30th September 2022 d) Tentative date of display of result on the University website : 10th November 2022

2. SPPU PET 2022  Eligibility for admission to Ph. D. programme :

a) Candidates having a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an Authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions. b) A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to reserved categories/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per policies of the Government of Maharashtra prescribed from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5Yo to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.

c) Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same institution in an integrated programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to reserved categories Differently Abled and other categories of candidates as per policies of the Government of Maharashtra prescribed from time to time.

d) M. Phil. students of SPPU whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme.

e) Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian institution, from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

3. SPPU PET 2022  Exemption from appearing in Entrance Examination:

The Candidates fulfilling at least one of the following conditions will be exempted from Entrance Examination:

i. Candidates qualified in UGC-NET (Including JRF UGC-CSIR NET (Including JRFSLET/SET/GATE (valid score/GPAT(valid score), CSIR / ICAR / ICMR / DBT & DST Inspire fellowship / Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Science (JGEEBILS) or Teacher fellowship holders will be exempted from the Entrance Test.

ii. Candidates who have passed M. Phil. Programme will be exempted from the Entrance Test for Fh.D. programme.

iii. Candidates who have qualified in PET 2021 will be exempted from Entrance test for Ph.D. Programme from this test only.

4. SPPU PET 2022 FEES :

1. For Appearing in PET Entrance Examination :

For General Category : – Rs. 1000/- For Reservation Category- Rs. 750/-

2.  Exempted from appearing Entrance Examination :

For General Category – Rs. 800/- as per Notification clause – 3 ( i, ii & iii ) :

ForReservationcategory-Rs.600/-

6. SPPU PET 2022  INSTRUCTIONS F’OR FILLING UP ONLINE APPLICATION

# Application is available online on the website: www.unipune.ac.in http://bcud.unipune.ac.in/phd_entrance/applicant/login.aspx #Before filling the online application, please check the vacant positions for admission displayed on University website.

# Required documents : Candidate shall upload following documents along with Online Application: a) Photo copy of Marks Statement of Master’s Degree. (if not acquired, Marksheet should be submitted at the time of personal interview). b) Photo copy of the Caste Certificate in case of Reserved Category Candidates (if applicable). c) Photo copy of the Non – Creamy Layer Certificate in case of Reserved Category Candidates (if appticable). d) Photo copy of the Medical Certificate issued by Civil Surgeon in case of Persons with Disabilities (P. H.) candidates (if applicable).

SPPU PET 2022  General Instructions:

-> Candidates who are in the final year of the qualifying examination of the course, are allowed to apply for the PET. However, the admission of such candidates is subject to their passing of the qualifying examination. -> In case of any grievance or disputes, the decision of the University shall be final and binding on all. -> Admission to any program does not guarantee Hostel facility or any kind of financial support in any form like Scholarship, fellowship, Earn & Learn etc. The University has independent procedure for offering such benefits. -> It is the responsibility of the applicant to fulfil the eligibility conditions and comply with the admission requirements. If at any stage it is noticed that a false claim has been made by the candidate or important material facts have been concealed and / or the candidate is not eligible, his candidature shall be liable for cancellation at any stage. -> Candidates are NOT required to submit printout of application or any documents to the University after online submission of application. However, these documents are to be submitted at the time of personal interview at the selected research centre. ->Incomplete applications/applications without uploading required documents/ applications submitted after the due date will be rejected without assigning any reason and no correspondence will be entertained by the University in this regard. -> No request for change in any information submitted in the online form will be entertained by the University (Mobile, email, centre etc.). -> The Entrance Examination will be conducted in English language for all faculties, except for subject Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Pali, French and German etc. -> Changes in reservation due to policy decisions of government from time to time may occur. ->Candidates from reserved category other than Maharashtra are treated as Open. ->Admission is provisional subject to condition on fulfilling eligibility criteria and R.R. Committee approval. ->Eligibility criteria – In case of more clarity regarding eligibility of a particular subject, students have to confirm it from the selected Research Centre. -> Student are advised to visit website frequently for details. -<> Vacancy positions for Ph.D. 2022 may likely to be changed. -> Students admissions are depend on availability of Research Centre and Research Guide. -> Admission will be confirmed after verification of original documents by the Research Centres concerned.

Mumbai University has always been a second home for PhD aspirants wishing to seek the highest degree of specialization. MU offers PhD in the concerned subjects of research of the faculty of arts, commerce, science, law and technology. No other university in India offers such choice in terms of specialization. Admission to these programmes is done through Mumbai University PhD PET. This objective entrance exam tests candidates in relevant subjects of separate faculties. Candidates with a master's degree in relevant discipline with a minimum aggregate of 55 percent marks are eligible to apply.Applicants with national level teacher fellowship are exempted from appearing for this exam.  

Mumbai University PET 22 Subject List

Eligibility:- •Master degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university with minimum 55 percent marks in total.  (50 percent marks in case of reserved category candidates). Exemption from PhD entrance Test:- Candidates who have qualified GATE/SET/NET/JRF exam and are holders of teachers fellowships of apex bodies like CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT etc are exempted from appearing for this test.

Schedule for Online PET 2022 is as follows –

The Mock Test for applicants of PET 2022 is scheduled from 20th August, 2022 to 22nd August, 2022 in online mode.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master degree or MPhil in relevant discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade (50 % marks in case of reserved category candidates).
  • Candidates appearing for the Final Year / Semester of the Master’s Degree Programme, as the case may be, of the concerned subject shall be allowed to appear for the online PET 2022. However, the results of PET-2022 of such candidates shall be valid only if they become otherwise eligible for admission to a Ph.D. Programme.

Application Process

  • Candidate has to apply online through the official website
  • Check eligibility criteria before filling application form.
  • Candidates shall retain the Print out of the online application for future reference.

Application Fee

Selection process.

  • Selection will be based on the entrance test or exemption granted from such an entrance test and a subsequent personal Interview of candidates.
  • There will be 70% weightage for PET score and 30% for performance in interview.

Exemption From Entrance Test

  • Candidates having MPhil or having qualified GATE /SET/CSIR-NET/UGC-NET/SLET/INSPIRE or having JRF of apex bodies like CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DST/DBT/ICSSR are exempted from appearing in test.
  • Candidates who have passed MPhil Program.

Maharashtra : Through a recent notice, MUHS (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences)  Nashik has invited online applications for the Ph.D. Entrance Test in the concerned subject of research under the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurved & Unani, Homoeopathy, Allied Health Sciences (Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) and Interdisciplinary / Interpathy subjects.

Candidates are required to apply only ONLINE through the University's website www.muhs.ac.in with prescribed fee (online payment) on or before 31/05/2022. Before applying for the same, the candidates are instructed to go through the University Direction No. 01/2020, which is available on University website https://www.muhs.ac.in and the subjects for which PET examination is conducted (Annexure "A" ( click here to open ) - list of subjects).

Eligibility criteria, payment of fee, Pattern of Examination, method of selection, subject-wise and Category-wise vacancies etc. are mentioned below.

                                                                                                 Schedule for PET 2022-23

INTRODUCTION: -

The Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) for admission to Doctor of Philosophy under the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurveda & Unani, Homoeopathy, Allied Health Sciences (Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) and Interdisciplinary / Interpathy subjects for academic year 2022-23 will be conducted by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

Eligibility: -

A candidate, who fulfils the following criteria, shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test, namely: -

I. He is a citizen of India;

II. He has studied and passed in the course(s) leading to the award of PG degree in respective branches recognized by respective councils and Government of India and affiliated to any University established by Law; and

III. The candidate willing to register for Ph.D. program as Ph.D. Scholar, shall fulfil the eligibility conditions as mentioned in Clause No.12 and 13 of University Direction No. 01/2020 (Refer Annexure 'VI").

IV. The candidates who are pursuing their Master's degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master's degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited may also apply for this test. However, they will be treated as eligible for the allotment of seats to Ph.D. admission only after submission of final year passed out result before the commencement of Ph.D. seat allotment program. If the candidate is failed/unable to submit his final year passed out result, performance in Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) 2019-20 will not be considered for Ph.D. admission for this academic year and they will be treated as disqualified.

Instructions for Filling Online Application Form: -

I. Candidate should have a valid e-mail id and correct Mobile number.

II. Before filling Online Application Form candidate must possess the required criteria and educational qualification as mentioned in the Direction No. 01/2020.

III. Online Application Form must be filled in 05 steps.

i.e. Edit Application (Step-1), Add Qualification Details (Step-2), Add Experience Details (Step-3), Paid Application Fee Online (Step-4) and Submit and Print Application Form (Step-5).

IV. Candidate shall submit only one application form, if candidate submits more than one application then, the previous application will be rejected and latest application submitted by the candidate shall be considered.

V. Eligible Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must submit their application to the University through online mode only by visiting the University website (https://www.muhs.ac.in) on or before 31st May 2022 at 23:59 Hrs. (midnight).

VI. For any modification in the online application, candidate has to submit One Time Password (OTP) after entering mobile number. The candidate can modify his application before online submission.

VII. Once the applicant has submitted his or her online application form by pressing "SUBMIT" button, then there will not be any scope to change the online data.

VIII. For any query related to online submission / transaction candidate can contact to Computer Department on telephone no. (0253) 2539180.

IX. Candidate must submit the hard copy of the printed online application form with self-attested all necessary documents as prescribed by the University on or before 10/06/2022 by post or in person at the following address-

X. The application must be highlighted as "APPLICATION FOR Ph.D. ENTRANCE TEST (PET)-2022-23" on the top side of envelope. Incomplete applications, in any respect, shall be rejected and no complaint or queries shall be entertained in this regard, therefore, it is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the application for the PET is complete in all respect and is supported by necessary attachments.

XI. The admission of the Candidates for Ph.D. Degree shall be on the basis of Merit of Entrance test conducted by the University.

XII. The in-service Candidates applying for full-time / part-time Ph.D. programs shall have to submit "No Objection Certificate" from their employer in the prescribed format as the case may be.

XIII. Reservation policy will be followed for admission as per the existing rules of the State Government. The Physically Disabled (PwD) candidates may claim reservation by producing valid certificate to that effect issued by the competent authority. There will be 5% seats reserved for persons with disabilities (PwD).

Registration Fee:

Mode of Payment: - All the Candidates need to pay Entrance Test Registration fee (Non-refundable) of Rs. 5000/- for Open Category and Rs. 3500/- for reserved Category candidate by payment Gateway mode only.

Examination Centre: -

The University will conduct PET Examination at Nashik City only.

Issuance of Admit Cards:

Admit Cards for PET-2022-23 appearing candidates will be made available on the University website 15 days before the examination date and will not be sent to individual by post/e-mail. For downloading the Admit Card, candidate is required to login into University website using the Username and password provided at the time submission of application. It shall be the responsibility of the candidate to download the Admit Card. Candidates has to come with this printout of the Admit Card at the time of the Entrance Test. Candidates without Admit Cards will not be allowed to enter the Examination hall. Details of date of examination, time and venue shall be informed on Admit Card provided for Entrance Test (PET 2022-23).

Identity Verification: -

In the examination hall, the Admit Card along with original of the candidate's photo identity (bearing reasonably the same name as it appears on the Admit Card) such as PAN Card / Indian Passport / Driving License / Voter's Card / Bank Passbook with Photograph/ Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with photograph / Photo identity proof issued by a People's Representative on official letterhead along with photograph / recent Identity Card issued by a recognized College/ Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar Card print with a photograph/ Photo Identity Card (of Central Govt. or State Govt. only) should be shown to the invigilator for verification. The candidate's identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the Admit Card, in the Attendance List and requisite documents submitted.

If identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the Examination.

Pattern and Syllabus for the Entrance Test (PET-2022-23): - Pattern of Examination

I. Entrance Test shall be conducted in offline mode only.

II. The Entrance Test will consist of two question papers each of 60 minutes of duration.

III. The Syllabus of Paper- II shall be based on Post Graduate Specialization in Health Science of concerned subject applied for research by the candidate.

IV. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

VI. All questions are compulsory.

VII. Re-valuation and Photocopy facility for PET is not available and request for the same will not be accepted.

VIII. There will be no grace marks for Entrance Test.

Language of the entrance examination shall be English only.

Exemption from PET Examination: -

The candidates who has qualified UGC/CSIR/AYUSH NET Examination in a relevant subject will be exempted from Entrance test only. There will be no separate seats reserved for UGC/CSIR/AYUSH NET exam qualified candidates. The admission of such candidates shall be based on the marks obtained in UGC/CSIR /AYUSH NET Examination and these marks shall be consider for preparation of merit list. Candidates seeking exemption from entrance test are also required to fill up an online application form. They are also required to submit all the documents along with the application form to the university.

Preparation of Merit List: -

Merit list will be prepared of those candidates appearing for Entrance Test (PET 2022-23). The said merit list will be used for the process of provisional

admission. The Entrance test shall be qualifying test with 50% qualifying marks for Open category candidates and 45% qualifying marks for Reserved Category candidates in both the papers. The Open category candidates and Reserved Category candidates need to score minimum 50% and 45% marks respectively in both papers in combined (i.e. Paper-I and II) to qualify for preparation of merit list.

Tie-Breaker: -

In case of equal marks in Entrance Test the following procedure shall be adopted for deciding the merit: -

1. Preference will be given to the candidates having super specialty, Post Graduate degree in Health Sciences in respective subject, Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences in respective subject and M.Sc. in Medical subjects respectively.

2. If the tie still persists then an older candidate will be preferred over the younger candidate.

Selection Process: -

I. On the basis of merit list, Category-wise Allotment list of the Ph.D. Centre shall be published on the University website. The Candidate shall finalize his admission in the allotted Ph.D. Centre and submit his retention form, along with necessary documents and the notified fees, within the time schedule published by the University.

II. There will be two regular rounds of admission and one MOP-UP round conducted. The candidates admitted in first round will have to submit retention form to respective study centre for confirmation of their admission and he will not be allowed for further admission rounds. If the candidate opts to go for further admission round for better choice of study centre, then he need not to submit the retention form.

III. The selected candidate shall join concerned research centre and take the admission for Ph.D. program as per clause 15 of Direction 01/2020. If the selected candidate is unable to join within stipulated period due to any reason, the seat will be considered for next round of admission.

IV. At the time of admission, the selected candidate shall pay the prescribed fees for admission (Refer University Notification No. 14/2019, dated 23/03/2019) which is made available on University Website and shall complete the other procedures related to his\her admission.

V. If reserved candidate not available then, the seat will be allotted to next Category Candidate as per the Government rules.

Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fees: -

For the cancellation of admission, a candidate has to submit an application to the University through their respective research centre. The fees paid to the University will be refunded after deduction as under.

Provisional Registration Process: -

The date of the joining of the candidate at Research Centre shall be treated as Provisional date of Registration. However, the actual term of candidate shall be deemed to start from the date of approval to the Synopsis.

Disclaimer: -

I. PET 2022-23 is only qualifying Examination. No PET 2022-23 qualified candidate can claim automatic registration for the Ph.D. program.

II. It shall be the responsibility of the candidate to check whether he/she fulfils the eligibility conditions for the Ph.D. registration. University shall not be responsible for any lapses thereof.

In case, any candidate is found to have submitted false information or Certificate(s) etc. or is found to have concealed or withheld some information in his/her application form, then he/she shall be debarred from admission.

Any other action that may be considered appropriate by the Vice-Chancellor of the University may also be taken against him/her, which may include criminal prosecution also.

16. Admission Grievance Committee: - The Admission Grievance Committee will be setup under the Chairmanship of the Competent Authority. It shall deal with the representations submitted by the candidate(s) related to Ph.D. admission grievances, if any.

In case, any Candidate, who is Ph.D. Guide or Research Supervisor of the University and intends to seek admission for Ph.D. degree, he shall not enroll any Ph.D. student under him till he completes his Ph.D. degree. It is his responsibility to communicate to the University that, he is seeking admission to Ph.D. course so as not to allocate the students.

Intake capacity indicated against the respective research centre may vary (increase or decrease) at any stage.

Before admission process, it is mandatory for all Ph.D. centres to get continuation of affiliation, if not done earlier.

Reservation rules will not be applicable to minority educational institutions.

The University reserves the right to change, alter any rule and Examination schedule regarding admission procedure.

Instructions for PET 2023

  • MGMU Additional PET-2023 will be conducted on 04 November 2023 as per the provisions of MGM University Ph.D. Ordinance 2023 for carrying out the admission to Ph.D. programs offered by colleges/lnstitutes/departments of the MGM University for the AY 2023-24. MGMU-PET is to be planned as per following schedule
  • MOCK Test Date & Time - 03/11/ 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (Online)
  • PET Exam Date & Time-04/11/2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm ( Physical Mode at campus)
  • Part- I Research Methodology There will be 50MCQs to be attempted in 1 hour. Each question will carry 2 marks. There will be no negative marking
  • Part-II - Subject Specific Test There will be 50 MCQs to be attempted in one hour. Each question will carry 2 marks. There will be no negative marking. This will be given to student as per the choice of his/her subject for the program
  • Research Methodology and Subject specific tests will be conducted, are mentioned in Appendix 'A'
  • Conduct: The PET will be conducted in the online mode in the respective Institutes.
  • Application for PET: Applications for the PET-2023 are being received online through the Website of the University. PET/Registration fee is Rs. 5000/- which will be paid online on the ERP.
  • Intimation to candidates about the date & time of the PET: e-admit cards will be generated by the ERP cell. The admit card will give date/time of the tests, link for mock tests and the instructions for taking the test.
  • Mock tests will be conducted on 03/11/2023 from 11:00 am to 01:00 pm as per the program given to the candidates.
  • Late login: Candidate can log in late up to 15 mins only from the start time. Thereafter, they will not be allowed to appear in the test. This will be mentioned in the test instructions given in the e-admit card.
  • Issue of Score Card The candidates will be issued their score card of the PET-2023 after the result is approved by the Hon'ble Vice-chancellor of MGM University.
  • Merit List For making the merit list, 50 percent weightage each will be given to the score of PET and the marks of the qualifying exam.
  • Merit List For making the Merit list, as per para 10 of Ordinance 01 or 2023.

List of Research Methodology and Subject Specific Tests for PET : Academic Year 2023-24

The test will be conducted at the following centers as per the programs, eligibility criteria.

  • A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master's degree programme after a 3-year bachelor's degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master's degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed
  • Equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
  • A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
  • Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor's degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
  • Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

Duration of the Programme:

  • Ph.D. Programme shall be for a minimum duration of three (3) years, including coursework, and a maximum duration of six (6) years from the date of admission to the Ph.D. programme.
  • A maximum of an additional two (2) years can be given through a process of re-registration as per the Statute/Ordinance of the Higher Educational Institution concerned; provided, however, that the total period for completion of a Ph.D. programme should not exceed eight (8) years from the date of admission in the Ph.D. programme. Provided further that, female Ph.D. scholars and Persons with Disabilities (having more than 40% disability) may be allowed an additional relaxation of two (2) years; however, the total period for completion of a Ph.D. programme in such cases should not exceed ten (10) years from the date of admission in the Ph.D. programme.
  • Female Ph.D. Scholars may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave for up to 240 days in the entire duration of the Ph.D. programme.

Procedure for admission:

  • The admission shall be based on the criteria notified by the University, keeping in view the guidelines/ norms in this regard issued by the UGC and other statutory/regulatory bodies concerned, and taking into account the reservation policy of the Central/State Government from time to time.
  • The University may admit students who qualify for fellowship/scholarship in UGCNET/UGC- CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests based on an interview.
  • The University may admit students through a University Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) conducted at the University level. The Entrance Test syllabus shall consist of 50% of research methodology, and 50% shall be subject specific.
  • Students who have secured 50 % marks in the entrance test are eligible to be called for the interview.
  • A relaxation of 5 % marks will be allowed in the entrance examination for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled category, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time
  • Provided that for the selection of candidates based on the entrance test conducted by the University, a weightage of 70 % for the entrance test and 30 % for the performance in the interview/viva- voce shall be given.
  • The score of PET shall be valid for subsequent two academic years
  • Redressal of grievance of candidate with respect to the conduct of the PET examination shall be resolved as per the provision made under Para 62 of ordinance no. 90 of 2022 in respect of Conduct of Examinations, Ordinance 2022

The University shall

  • Notify a prospectus well in advance on the University's website specifying the number of seats for admission, subject/faculty-wise distribution of available seats, criteria for admission, the procedure for admission, and all other relevant information for the candidates;
  • Adhere to the national/state-level reservation policy, as applicable.
  • The University shall maintain a list of Ph.D. supervisors (specifying the name of the supervisor, his or her designation, and the College/Institute/Department/School/center), along with the details of Ph.D. scholars (specifying the name of the registered Ph.D. scholar, the topic of his/her research and the date of admission) admitted under them on the website of the University and update this list every academic year.

Ph.D Entrance Test (PET)

  • 12 th Ph. D. Entrance Test will be conducted on Sunday, 16 th July 2023. Paper - I - 09.30 am to 10.30 am Paper - II - 10.30 am to 11.30 am
  • PET Examination will be conducted at Vadodara Centre Only.
