Summer Vacations are the best time of the year. The summer break gives a person a time to relax and explore different things and learn from them. It gives a break from the daily routine of an individual like studying or working. It is a time for fun activities and adventure.

Wise people utilise this precious time in their development by learning about different things, working as an intern and people often research about different things that will be going to help them in their future.

People get to know themselves a lot during these breaks and adopt new hobbies like gardening, painting, photography, travelling and many more. And the people with hobbies usually keep themselves entertained by doing what they love the most.

My name is Ujwal Sharma and I am in 12th class. Unlike the other children, I did not get to enjoy my summer break freely because of my higher studies. But I really love summer breaks because they give me a time to relax.

I do not get exhausted easily because it is not compulsory to wake up early and go to school. I woke up late in the morning and had breakfast with my family. Then I started to study with a fresh and clear mind. I studied till the evening and then I went to play with my friends.

My neighbourhood friends and I played cricket all summer in the evening. We laughed a lot together and roasted each other. These little things enlightened me so much. I love the summer season. The main reason I love the summer season is that in this season the days get longer.

I get more time to spend outside with my friends and my parents also don’t scold me. For the whole month, I studied and took regular online classes of my main subjects. This thing not only helped me get good grades but also stayed ahead of my classmates in every aspect.

We should study regularly to get good marks in our class. I got a 2-month summer break from my school. For the first month I studied and in the next month I went out on a trip with my family. The thing I love the most about travelling is that a person gets to learn about many different things by seeing the world and it helps in gaining knowledge.

It helps an individual to explore themselves and become a part of nature and get free in the environment. This summer, I went to Kerala with my family. I never knew Kerala was this beautiful. I took photos of nature’s beauty. I ate south Indian food and it was so tasty.

We also went to Pondicherry, it is a small territory in India situated near Bangalore. This summer, I tried scuba diving and it was my best experience. I did what I feared the most and I loved that I was finally able to do something adventurous. This is how I spent my summer vacation with my family and cousins. I love this part of the year so much that I pray for it to come back again and again.

Summer breaks are an important part of everyone’s life. People get to know themselves a lot during these breaks and adopt new hobbies like gardening, painting, photography, travelling and many more. This is important for the overall development of a person and it is necessary to make changes accordingly.

We got up early in the morning at 7 o’clock, despite no school. We had trainers who would teach us different things each day. On the first day, I got to learn karate, which was very amusing and helpful. Further, I learned how to play sports like basketball , table tennis, and volleyball.

How to Write an Essay on How You Spent Your Summer Vacation

Last Updated: January 4, 2020

This article was co-authored by Alexander Peterman, MA . Alexander Peterman is a Private Tutor in Florida. He received his MA in Education from the University of Florida in 2017. This article has been viewed 52,907 times.

Writing an essay on how you spent your summer vacation is a classic way of starting a new school year. Think about this essay as an opportunity to tell a story about your summer while reflecting on the experiences you had. Choose a memorable moment you had this summer and start crafting your essay, giving as many details as possible.

Choosing a Topic

Step 1 Look back on mementos you kept from the summer.

  • These can also make nice visual aids if you are asked to present your essay.

Step 2 Make a list of the things you’ve done over summer vacation.

  • A list might be full of things like babysitting, attending a camp, working at a local store, taking a road trip, etc. This type of brainstorming can help you pick major events and other important moments from your summer.

Step 3 Write about a memorable moment.

  • For example, maybe you spent your summer traveling around Japan. Think of a memorable moment you had while traveling — maybe you walked up a mountain in the pouring rain — and write about this moment, adding lots of details.

Step 4 Create an outline...

  • For example, if you're writing about spending time at the beach, your outline could remind you to talk about the sandcastle building contest you entered, the dolphins you saw, and the ice cream you ate every day.
  • Details might be what the other sandcastles looked like, how far away the dolphins were, and what kind of toppings were on your ice cream.
  • Your outline is just to help you organize your thoughts — it can be written by hand or typed.

Crafting the Essay

Step 1 Focus on your feelings, interactions, and thoughts.

  • Instead of saying that you worked in a pet store, ate a PB&J sandwich, and walked home every day, talk about more than just your actions. You could talk about which pets are your favorites to work with, how it felt to eat the same sandwich every day, or what you thought about on your walk home.

Step 2 Use your 5 senses to explain your experiences.

  • Using sensory details like these will help your readers visualize and engage with your writing. These help your audience make your experiences feel real to them, even though they weren't there.

Step 3 Describe activities you did in each place you went.

  • For example, instead of saying “I went to the beach this summer,” try saying “I spent my summer swimming in the frigid water at Virginia Beach.” The more details you can provide, the more engaged your reader will be.

Step 4 Choose precise, descriptive adjectives.

  • Instead of saying “the burger was really good,” you could say, “the burger was juicy and filling.”

Step 5 Revise and edit your essay carefully.

  • Don't just rely on spellcheck. It will help catch some errors, but it will miss some things, too.
  • Ask a parent or other adult to read over your essay too, if you'd like.
  • Setting your essay aside for a little while will give you a fresher perspective when you go back to revise it.

Structuring Your Essay

Step 1 Start with a strong introduction.

  • Make sure your conclusion doesn’t just copy the introduction.

Summer vacation is the happiest period for a student. We enjoyed our summer vacation at Shimla. We stayed at the Clarke Hotel at the Mall Road. I reserved morning time for studies. After that, we started outings. We visited all the picnic spots in and around Shimla. We returned in the afternoon, took our lunch, and then rest. Again, in the evening, we were out on Mall Road. There was always a great rush of people. The newlyweds roamed about on the Mall Road in a very carefree manner. We used to sit on the benches at the Ridge for some time. Usually, we had coffee in the evening. On our return to the hotel at night, we used to stand at the gate of the hotel. The lights in every house, situated at different heights, presented a fascinating scene. It was indeed a very happy experience for me.

After months of studying for the examinations, every student looks forward to the summer vacation with great excitement. And I am no exception to this.

Every summer I and my parents usually go on a vacation to various places of tourist attractions. But this year, because my father did not get leave from the office, going out of the station was ruled out. But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It helped me to do and learn many things which I could not have done otherwise do.

I joined a club near my home to learn swimming. It took two hours of my time every day. Swimming not only provides healthy recreation but is also beneficial to the whole body. And by the time my school ‘re-opened I was able to shed some extra weight. I also used the vacations to catch up with my hobby, reading. I had not read for many months because of my preoccupation with the examinations. I spent a few hours every day reading the various magazine and journals I had missed out on. I also joined a library and borrowed the books which I needed.

The vacation provides me with a chance to learn about computer languages like coding. A short course at a local institute helped me a lot to gain knowledge. The vacation came to an end in no time. But I am happy that it was spent usefully.

Are you required to write an essay about your summer vacation or your holiday break? This can be a tough assignment to tackle at first glance. But if you think about it, there are lots of interesting things that happen on your vacation that others might enjoy reading about. The key to success is to zero in on the experiences, people, or situations that made your vacation unique.

Summer vacation can be busy or lazy, funny or serious. You may have traveled with your family, worked every day, fallen in love, or coped with a difficult situation. To start your essay, you'll need to choose a topic and tone.

Family Vacation Essay Topic Ideas

If you traveled with your family, you may have some great stories to tell. After all, every family is crazy in its own way. Want some proof? How many Hollywood films have themes about family holidays or trips? Those films are popular because they enable us to glimpse inside the crazy family lives of others. Alternatively, you may have a more serious story to tell.

Consider these funny topics:

  • Why I'll Never Go Back to (insert place name)
  • How (insert name) Drove Me Crazy in Five Days
  • Traveling to (insert city) Then and Now
  • The Hazards of Traveling With a (person or thing)
  • Why You Shouldn't Take a Dog to (insert place)
  • I Left (insert city) But My (lost item) Stayed
  • Why I Couldn't Sleep in (place name)

If your family vacation involved something more serious, think about one of these topics:

  • The Love I Left Behind in (insert place)
  • Saying Good-Bye to (insert person or place)
  • Exploring (place's) Secrets
  • An Emotional Trip

Summer Job Essay Topic Ideas

Not everyone gets to spend the summer having fun; some of us have to work for a living. If you spent your summer at a job, chances are you met a lot of interesting characters, dealt with complicated situations, or even saved the day once or twice. Here are some ideas for summer job topics:

  • The Boss's Day Off
  • The Customer From Hell
  • What I Learned from My Customers
  • Why I'll Never Go Into the ___ Business
  • Six Things I Learned on the Job

How to Write the Essay

Once you've chosen your topic and your tone, think about the story you want to tell. In most cases, your essay will follow a typical story arc:

  • The hook (the funny, sad, or scary sentence that grabs the reader's attention)
  • The rising action (the beginning of your story)
  • The climax (the most exciting moment in your story)
  • The denouement (the aftermath or ending to your story)

Start by writing out the basic outline of your story. For example, "I started cleaning a guest's room and found that they'd left behind a wallet with $100 in cash. When I turned it in without taking a single dollar for myself, my boss rewarded me with a $100 gift certificate and a special award for honesty."

Next, start fleshing out the details. What was the room like? What was the guest like? What did the wallet look like and where was it left? Were you tempted to just take the money and turn in the wallet empty? How did your boss look when you handed her the wallet? How did you feel when you got your reward? How did others around you react to your honesty?

Once you've told your story in all its detail, it's time to write the hook and conclusion. What question or thought can you use to grab your reader's attention? For example: "What would you do if you found a wallet loaded with cash? That was my dilemma this summer."

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

This summer vacation, I spent my time in the city with my aunt. Being a village student, I never had the opportunity to explore the cities until this summer vacation. This summer vacation, I spent time with my aunt, who lives in Kolkata. My Aunt is a doctor in Kolkata. This summer vacation, I came to live with her for a few days.

Since my aunt had to work the night shift, she could spend the day with me. During the, we would take the public bus and take a tour of the City of Joy, Kolkata. She used to take me to some of the historical places and local attractions.

Kolkata is known for its vivacity, culture, and colors. Located in the eastern part of India, it is the center of many historical events and home to diverse cultures. This summer vacation, I spent time visiting some of the most prestigious places in Kolkata.

Places I Visited

I went to Victoria Memorial, a famous landmark in Kolkata housing some of the most famous sculptures, and paintings, artifacts from the colonial era in India. I also saw the magnificent Howrah Bridge over the Hooghly river in Kolkata. This is one of the busiest bridges in the world and stores the unique engineering marvel of the city of joy.

Memory I Made

What I loved the most during this trip was going to M. P. Birla Planetarium . It is one of the finest astrological observatories, and I cannot stop thinking about all the collections of their astronomy gallery. I also enjoyed my trip to the Alipur zoo with my aunt.

This is where I saw the tiger, the lion, and the python. We also tasted different street foods with my aunt during our trips. She used to treat me to the best street foods available in Kolkata. Sometimes we were late to return home, and my aunt had to go to work during the evening. However, I loved the experience of traveling around the city with my aunt. It was a thrilling experience for me.

Once the summer vacation was over, I had to return home and go back to school again. Although I returned, my mind was filled with the memories of the busy city streets, historical places, and vibrant city life. This summer vacation was full of great experiences I will never forget.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation: 400-450 Word Essay

It is true that for a student, summer vacations are one of the most anticipated times of the year. I used to look forward to summer vacations too till last year. But now that I am in my final year of school, the realization slowly started sinking in that summer vacations won’t be a carefree time for me as this year I have to spend the vacation preparing for my school final examinations. Because of this, I was not really looking forward to summer vacation this year. Almost all of my friends were also feeling the same way as the vacations were drawing near.

The Surprise

So you can well understand the happiness I felt when my parents announced that they had planned a trip for me to go on during summer vacation. But Little did I know that more surprises awaited me. My parents along with my friends’ parents have decided that since this is our final summer vacation in school, they will allow us to go on a trip together alone with no parental supervision. We will all be going to Shimla and staying at the house of one of my friend’s relatives.

Imagine the happiness and excitement that my friends and I felt upon hearing this news. Since all our parents decided to break the news on the same evening, we all got to know around the same time. Since we will be leaving in three days, the next few days were spent simultaneously packing and planning with our friends on the phone. On the day, a car driven by a friend’s older brother picked all of us up from our homes. It took us around 9 hours to reach Shimla.

What we did in Shimla

We were tired and fell asleep. But the next day, we rose early to explore Shimla. We went on a short trek to visit Jakhu Temple and enjoyed the panoramic view from the hilltop. The next day, we went on a day trip to Kufri, a hill station near Shimla where we tried various adventurous activities like skiing and horse riding. The adrenaline rush I felt was simply amazing. We also visited several historical landmarks, strolled down the Mall road, visited local markets and apple farms, rode the toy train, and took a walk in the pine forests.

We were in Shimla for 15 days and I think we tried out all the activities for tourists and visited almost every part of Shimla. All the time we were in Shimla, we were in awe of the beautiful natural scenery surrounding us. Needless to say, I immensely enjoyed my very first trip with friends. I will forever cherish the memories I made on this trip.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation: 200 Words Essay

Spent My Summer Vacation

Summer vacations are my most awaited time of the year. Every year, My school arranges small trips to different places with students of different classes. This year, they did not have any plan like that. So, I, and other students of my school, had to spend the vacation at home.

Unexpectedly, this summer vacation was different for me. I spent most of the time of the day indoors. But this was one of the best experiences since I got to spend lots of time with my friends and family.

During this summer vacation, I spent lots of time on my hobbies and favorite activities. I love drawing, so this summer vacation, I picked up on it and spent most of the time of my days drawing. I also love to read science fiction, so I indulged in this hobby as well.

But, when I was not spending my time in these activities, I was playing Chess with my father. Once we had lunch, we used to watch movies together. In the afternoon, I used to go out with my friends from the village . Sometimes we played cricket, and sometimes we only strolled around the riverside.

The summer vacation was fun, relaxing, and full of fond memories for me. The different experience I had this year makes me look forward to the summer vacation in the coming years.

Essay on Summer Vacation

Hello, my name is Narendra, and I am in class 3. I want to tell you all about my super fun summer vacation! Summer is a special time of the year when school is closed, and I get to take a break from my studies. I had a fantastic time during my summer break, filled with exciting adventures and lots of fun.

  • Exploring Nature: During my summer vacation, I spent a lot of time outdoors, exploring the beauty of nature. I visited parks, gardens, and even went on a nature trail with my family. We saw colorful flowers, tall trees, and listened to the sweet songs of birds. I loved learning about different types of plants and insects. It was amazing to see butterflies fluttering around and squirrels playing in the trees.
  • Beach Fun: One of the highlights of my summer vacation was going to the beach. The warm sand beneath my feet and the cool ocean waves made me feel so happy. I built sandcastles, played beach volleyball, and collected seashells. The best part was when I had a splash in the water and tried to catch the waves. I even went for a boat ride with my parents and saw dolphins jumping in the sea. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
  • Family Time: Summer vacation also gave me the opportunity to spend quality time with my family. We went on picnics to beautiful spots, had barbecues in the backyard, and played board games together. We laughed a lot and created wonderful memories. We also visited our grandparents and had a great time listening to their stories and playing games with them. Family time is always special, and I cherish those moments.
  • Learning Something New: I believe that vacations are not only about having fun but also about learning something new. During my summer break, I joined a swimming class and learned how to swim. It was a bit scary at first, but with the help of my instructor and the support of my parents, I overcame my fear and enjoyed every moment in the pool. Learning a new skill made me feel proud of myself.

My summer vacation was a fantastic adventure filled with joy, laughter, and new experiences. I had a great time exploring nature, playing at the beach, spending quality time with my family, and learning to swim. It was a break from school, but I also learned valuable life lessons and made wonderful memories that I will treasure forever. I cannot wait for the next summer vacation to have more exciting adventures!

The ideal time to have true fun is when on a summer vacation. My vacation this time gave me the right opportunity to try new things and learn new skills. I enrolled in a summer camp during my break. I took part in camp activities including karate, yoga, painting, singing, and dancing. On the fifteenth day of the training, my trainers organised a trip to the nearby park. We all had a terrific time despite the bad weather. I had my first experience with animals up close. I had a lot of memories from camp. I made some new friends and participated in all the activities.

All of the kids who have struggled all academic year with tests and homework look forward to summer break. During this time, kids are unconstrained and free from parental or academic pressure to spend their days doing whatever they like. Most students choose to take a relaxing trip to a hill station, a hamlet, or another location with their parents or friends. However, vacations can also be enjoyed when they are spent at home.

My Summer Vacation

I made the choice this year to remain home for the summer instead of taking a trip. To use my free time productively, I enrolled in programmes where I studied canvas painting and concurrently began learning table tennis. In the afternoons, I aided my mother in the kitchen and my father with a few accounting-related jobs. I felt the most connected to and engaged with my family during this period. I then went out with pals for the remainder of the evening. Additionally, I watched a few movies and web series. These TV episodes and films not only entertained me, but also gave me some valuable life lessons.

I used my summer break to spend more time with my family and myself than I could have during the school year. I came to see how productive and fulfilling spending vacations at home truly was.

500 Words Essay on How I spent My Summer Vacation

Since there is no academic pressure or mental stress over the summer, it is thought that this is the perfect time for kids to learn more about themselves and their environment. Additionally, this provides them with much-needed relief from the sweltering heat. Summer vacations provide a terrific opportunity for kids to take a stress-relieving excursion and be outside, something they can't do with their busy schedules during the year.

My Visit to a Hill Station

This year, our family decided to take a summer vacation to a hill station. The visual splendour of several attractive locations in India is well-known, including Mussoorie, Ooty, Wilson Hills, Kufri, Nainital, Manali, Kerala, and Rishikesh. We debated which hill station to visit for a while before deciding on Shimla.

Our Trip to Shimla

My family and I drove to Shimla in our car and arrived early in the morning. We then proceeded right away to the hotel that we had reserved. Shimla has everything to entice travellers, from opulent hotels to gorgeous settings, and mall lanes to retail streets teeming with people from many cultures.

The tour was scheduled to last five days. We visited Mall Road and Jhaku Hills, two of the city's most popular tourist destinations, on the evening of our first day of travel. There are several events taking place there in the evening. Experiencing Shimla's nightlife was also incredible. We went to the Footloose Discotheque, which was packed with lively people and humming with wonderful music.

We rode the toy train the next day. This miniature train travels between Kalka and Shimla. Only 3 such trains operate in our country, and this one is one of them. Even though they move slowly, passing through them is fun. Skiing and bungee jumping were among the winter sports we engaged in that evening.

The next days were spent travelling to towns close to Shimla including Chail, Kufri, and Chitkul. Along with admiring their stunning natural beauty, these locations may be visited for some snowy adventure.

For foodies like myself, Shimla is also a nice treat. Shimla's cuisine is peculiar in that there is no middle ground, with little eateries serving just quick food, fine restaurants serving costly booze, and cafés serving a range of teas and cold beverages. Indulgent salami burgers were what we enjoyed on weekdays on our evening stroll.

We used to become exhausted in the evening after all these days full of activity, but the nightlife there or just gazing up at the stars made us feel really happy and re-energized. Curvy roads force one to see those beautiful hills from all directions, big trees that are standing erect, and that brisk air that exalts one's spirit and emotions.

After five days in Shimla, full of enjoyment, we returned to Delhi. This trip's memories are still fresh in my mind and I have taken many pictures to show to my friends. Shimla is unquestionably the queen of the hill towns. I’m definitely looking forward to the next time we visit.

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. I know Prague well because I lived there when I was at university, more than ten years ago.

Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. It was so much fun, and a little bit like my old life. I wanted to do all the same things I did in my university days, so I visited the university. It has changed a lot and looks more modern. I also went to the supermarket near my old house. I loved seeing all the different foods. I was really happy to find my favourite cheese and chocolate biscuits but they were a bit more expensive than I remember!

We did some touristy things too. We walked up beautiful Petrin Hill and around the castle. The views of the city are amazing up there. We walked across the historic Charles Bridge. My friend's flat is very near the TV Tower so we saw the famous baby statues climbing up it. Those things haven't changed, of course.

My last was holiday three-week trip to Fez in Morocco. Fez it’s my hometown so I know it well because I lived there for 26 years. I went to visit my family there and I stayed at home, every day I was invited by my sisters and brothers, they made me delicious dishes and we had a good time together. I’ve been seeing my friends every day in the café, we’ve been seeing football matches and we’ve been talking about different topics. In this holiday I made many things important for me, I had driving courses to be confident when I’m going to buy a car, in the same time I had English courses.

My last holiday was a three-day trip to Thua Thien Hue in Vietnam. I always want to go there, so in the summer of last year, I decided to take a trip to Hue with my family.

We booked a small hostel near Hue Walking Road. We stayed in a twin room, which was clean and had full amenities. The owner was very friendly; he showed us good restaurants, attractions, and how to deal with sellers in the market. We tried local foods such as Bun Bo Hue, Banh Xeo, Banh Bot Loc, etc. The food in Hue is cheap and amazing; I thought that I could eat it all day!

We did some touristy things too. We visited Hue Capital and had a chance to learn more about Vietnam's history. The architecture is very majestic and beautiful. We also went to Thien Mu Pagoda. It is one of the most sacred temples in Vietnam, so we prayed for health and happiness and wished everyone good luck. In the evening, we walked across the historic Trang Tien Bridge. It was so beautiful at night; there were a lot of people walking there.

It was three amazing days. I felt so relaxed and hope to visit more places in Vietnam.

My last holiday was a two-day trip to Baguio in the Philippines. I had lived there before for five months. So I decided to go back for just a visit on my holiday. Unfortunately, there was heavily raining as we got off the bus. Otherwise, getting a taxi was super hard, and we were waiting for around an hour. Fortunately, I got home safely and I made so much fun with my friends. I visited the old places that I often did because it made me happy and refresh. In conclusion, I had so much fun spending my last holiday in Baguio.

I remember last year when I went with friend to the beach in summer. My Lastsummer holidays was 2days and 3 nights trip to Ngwe Saung Beach in Myanamr . Ngwe Saung, is a beach resort located 48 km west of Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. In 2014, the town of Ngwesaung had 10,732 people. The beach is 5hours drive with no traffic away from the principal city of Yangon. Ngwe Saung is well know for An unspoilt 15 kilometres stretch of silvery sand and modern amenities have made Ngwe Saung a popular destination for less budget conscious tourists from Lower Myanmar. I booked for our stay at a hotel near the beach, name was "Grand Paradise Hotel ". My friend and i prepared everything we needed on our trip as light food and soft drinks to have on the way to the hotel. And also we prepared necessary clothing for the sea, sun cream and some essential medicines. After 5hours of driving we arrived the hotel at 12PM afternoon and went to our rooms to rest change clothes and take all what we need to go to the beach. This Hotel is near the beach, all services was good and room are cleaned, wide and nice. We put our bags on the table and went to swim in the sea and then went out for lunch that my friend ordered from a fish restaurant . The Crab ,Lobster and fish was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed our meal very much. After lunch we sat under the canopy enjoying the sea view, refreshing breaths ,listening to music and playing fun games. OH really nice Ngwe Saung beach Myanamr.

My last holiday was far away in time in different reasons. We were at black sea coast on September so there where not so much other people. We was drinking a wine that was cheap there and going some excursions

My last holiday. Last summer, in particular on the last weekend of June, I decided to visit Granada, an amazing city in Spain. I visited Granada for the second time with my family, my wife, and two daughters. I was so happy because I visited Granada sights, especially Alhambra Palace, and Civilization Museum. We arrived at the hotel by bus at 11 a.m. The hotel was wonderful and clean, and the food they offer was delicious. My family really liked the traditional typical dishes of Granada, in particular the dish named Baella. During the holiday, I met some of my Spanish colleagues and they invited us to visit their house which is located in a nice village in the city suburb. Really, I liked this place for the large landscape, calmness, and the kind people who live in. On the fifth day of our holiday, we walked around the city and saw the old city which has been built above the mountain. So, you can see the whole city from above it. Despite the enjoyment that we have got, the negative thing about that holiday was that we spent so much money and also many friends need to buy some things from there, so I bought some souvenirs and I hope that I can keep one for myself to remind of that divine place. By and large, this holiday was great and unforgettable thanks to my Spanish friend, Gaspar, who provided me with a Guidebook which makes my trip easy and coy.

My last holiday was four days on São Miguel dos Milagres with my family. We stay on the beach house of my grandpa. There is a pool, and four rooms in that. There we go to the beach, to some interesting restaurants, to a beach clube and to an ice cream shop. I love that travel and i'd love go back to São Miguel dos Milagres.

On the first weekend in March, we took an amazing trip to Barcelona. We went by train from Atocha station and the journey lasted two and a half hours.

When we arrived at the historic Barcelona Sants station, we took the metro to Plaza de Tetuan, which is where we had the apartment. We left our baggage and went to visit the city centre, Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, La Boqueria Market, Paseo de Gracia, etc. On Sunday, we saw the beautiful Sagrada Familia which is my favourite landmark. Later, we went to the incredible Nou Camp stadium to see the Barça game against Valencia. After the game we visited the official store and did some shopping but everything was very expensive. On Monday, before returning to Madrid we went back to the Nou Camp to take a guided tour of the trophy room, changing rooms, benches, and the VIP box.

At the end, we went to the apartment to take the suitcases and so, we took the metro to the Sants station where we boarded the high speed train back to Madrid.

I go to Thailand for a camping holiday, It was fun I go caving on the first day, I see many bets are sleeping on top of the cave.(no time to finish)

Summer and winter are two vacations that are provided to the students. Winter vacations are short but provide us a great time to enjoy with our family and friends.

Winter vacations enhance the joy of the winter season

The winter season is loved by many of us. It is my favorite season and thus I eagerly wait for the arrival of this season. The winter vacations provided during this season enhance the joy of winters for me. The winter vacations are of a very short period therefore my family does not plan to go anywhere. I love spending this vacation at home. The vacations provide us the freedom to sleep till late hours in the morning. We also enjoy different types of dishes that are prepared in winter and served hot.  The festivals like New Year and Christmas are great times to enjoy during the winter vacation. I love to go for outings with my family and friends to enjoy and have fun on these occasions.

The winter vacations are providing us ideal time for studies. We can study without the problem of sweating that is common during the summers. This helps us in getting good results during the exams. It is the last break that we get before the annual examinations and hence provide us a great time for relaxing along with studying.

We all get a good time enjoying ourselves with our family and friends during the winter vacations. This break is necessary as it gives us good rest and relaxation for a fresh start.

I have also provided a long essay that may ease the difficulty of the students and give them an idea to write an essay on this topic.

Long Essay on My Experience of the Winter Vacation (1050 Words)

Winter is a beautiful season with soothing weather conditions unlike the scorching heat of summers. The specialties of the winter season cannot be denied. A vacation in this season is not less than cheery on top for children as well as adults. It is a small vacation but people make pre-plans to make the best utilization of these holidays.

What are Vacations?

Vacations are the holidays that are granted to school students and working people. These vacations are a great time to rejoice with family, friends, and close ones. Children eagerly wait for these vacations. The summer vacations are of longer duration but the extremely hot weather conditions are prevailing at that time. The vacations of winter are only for two weeks but it is the best vacation for everyone.

This is the time to relax for students after the second-term examination in September. Children have a great love for winter vacations as they can freely sleep in the morning and do not have the tension of rising early for school. Most of us visit the areas of snowfall during our vacations and enjoy the beauty of this season in mountainous areas. We all make different plans in the vacations to make it a beautiful experience and spend it nicely.

My Experience of the Winter Vacation

Winter vacation is a very short break for all of us but is very important. I am very fond of this season so I eagerly wait for this vacation every year. Moreover, I feel very happy that I can eat different types of food served hot by my mother during the holidays. Last year we had a plan to visit our uncle’s place during the vacation. My uncle lives in a small village of Uttrakhand as therefore it was a very special journey for me.

I had heard that people visit the mountainous areas in winters to enjoy the snowfall in the mountains. They also enjoy different games like cycling, ice hockey, skating, etc. My uncle’s place was situated in a very small village but I was happy that I will be able to observe the beauty of winters in the mountains that I had previously read in the books.

Beginning of the Journey – My father booked the tickets earlier as at the last time the chance of getting confirmed seats reduces. On the expected date we started packing and left for the station to board our train. It took a total of 13 hours from our place to reach Uttrakhand. I was very curious to reach that place and observe the undulating beauty. Finally, we arrived and my uncle was there to receive us. I was very happy to see that place that was appearing like a mini paradise for a person like me living in the plains.

We arrived in the village and finally home. My uncle’s place was not very big but I loved that place very much. I got the company of my cousin brothers and sister over there and we were a total of five children. This vacation was going to be the most interesting one for me. The food was prepared there on fire by my aunt. We sat around the fire and enjoyed the warmth of it. The taste of food there was delicious as if I never have tasted this type of food earlier in my life.

The Beauty of the Place – We made plans for visiting the nearby areas in the morning. The pleasant weather conditions, view of snow-clad mountainous peaks all around made it an adorable place. I spent a lot of time walking and viewing the earnest beauty of nature. The atmosphere over there was very clean and least polluted. I also had seen snow-covered mountains and enjoyed the snowfall. It was the best destination for clicking beautiful pictures and therefore we clicked several pictures of my and uncles family together.

The next day we had a plan to visit different temples in the valley. It was astonishing that a small valley had so many temples there. I also noticed that people of that region were very good-natured. During the evening in the verandah area of the house, a bonfire was lit and we used to sit around the bonfire and play games. The preparation for the dinner would begin there in the evening only. Since it was a village so people used to sleep early and wake up early in the morning.

We stayed there for a week and every day we had plans to visit the beauty of areas nearby the village. We went to different places and clicked our beautiful pictures as a memory. I could not realize how the days passed so quickly and now it was time to get back home. I returned home with a sad heart but was satisfied with the thought that I had a great time during my last winter vacation.

Are Mountainous Regions the Best Places to Enjoy Winter Vacations?

The snowfall is regarded as the best part of the winter season. It makes the mountainous places like a paradise on earth. The snowfall commonly occurs only in the mountainous regions because these regions are experiencing very low temperatures due to elevation. People during the winter vacation make plans to visit these places with their family and friends to enjoy the beauty of winters and snowfalls. There are also many games that are played in the making of snowballs and snowman, ice skating, ice hockey, etc. These things are enjoyed by people worldwide. Many of us are eagerly waiting for the arrival of winters to enjoy these amazing things in winters.

Therefore it can be stated that the snowfall in the mountainous regions makes it a most adored place in winters. These places in winters can be seen visited by numerous tourists from different parts of the world. In India, the Northern region is blessed with the mountains and thus experiences a great rush of tourists in the winter season to enjoy the winters and snowfall.

It became an everlasting memory in my mind and I wish to visit the place every winter vacation. I enjoyed the company of my uncle’s children. The thought of the beauty of that place and the taste of the food served makes me happier from inside even today.

250 Words Essay on How I Spent My Diwali Vacation

Anticipation and preparation.

Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time of joy, reunion, and revitalization. This year, my Diwali vacation was a blend of traditional festivities and modern celebrations. The anticipation began weeks before the festival, with the cleaning and decorating of our home, symbolizing the expulsion of negativity and the invitation of positivity.

Celebration of Lights

On Diwali night, our home was adorned with earthen lamps, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The flickering lights against the dark canvas of the night sky was a sight to behold. We performed the traditional Lakshmi Puja, seeking the blessings of the goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Family Bonding

The best part of Diwali is the quality time spent with family. This year, we organized a family get-together. The house was filled with laughter, stories, and the aroma of delicious homemade sweets. The evening was spent playing cards, a customary Diwali tradition, which added a layer of fun and thrill to the celebration.

Conscious Celebrations

Being environmentally conscious, we refrained from bursting crackers. Instead, we organized a community event where we shared stories about the significance of Diwali, fostering a sense of unity and cultural appreciation.

Reflection and Gratitude

The quiet moments of reflection were as significant as the vibrant celebrations. Diwali is not just a festival of lights and joy; it’s a time to express gratitude, to introspect, and to sow seeds of positivity for the coming year.

In conclusion, my Diwali vacation was a perfect blend of tradition, family bonding, and conscious celebrations. It was a reminder of the light that resides within us, the light that no darkness can diminish.

500 Words Essay on How I Spent My Diwali Vacation

Introduction.

Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is one of the most significant festivals in India, celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy. It marks the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance. This year, I had the opportunity to spend my Diwali vacation in a unique and fulfilling manner.

Preparation for Diwali

The preparation for Diwali started a week before the festival. I decided to celebrate this Diwali in an eco-friendly way. Instead of buying plastic decorations, I made my own using recyclable materials. I also chose to use earthen lamps (diyas) instead of electric lights. The process of making these decorations and painting the diyas was therapeutic and helped me connect with the essence of the festival.

On Diwali day, I woke up early in the morning and helped my family clean the house, a ritual believed to invite prosperity. I also helped in the kitchen to prepare traditional sweets and snacks. In the evening, we performed the Lakshmi Puja, praying for health, wealth, and prosperity.

Community Service

This year, I decided to add a new dimension to my Diwali celebration – community service. I volunteered at a local orphanage, organizing a small Diwali party for the children. We decorated the place with diyas and rangoli, played games, and shared sweets. The smiles on their faces made my Diwali more meaningful and rewarding.

Reconnecting with Nature

I also took this vacation as an opportunity to reconnect with nature. I visited a nearby village, where I indulged in bird-watching and nature walks. The tranquility and beauty of the place were refreshing. It was a reminder of the need to preserve our environment and live in harmony with nature.

Academic Enrichment

Being a college student, I utilized some of my vacation time for academic enrichment. I read books related to my field of study, attended online webinars and workshops, and worked on a personal project. This not only enhanced my knowledge but also provided a sense of accomplishment.

This Diwali vacation was a blend of tradition, service, nature, and learning. It was a reminder that festivals like Diwali are not just about rituals and celebrations, but also about self-growth and giving back to society. The joy of celebrating Diwali in an eco-friendly way, the satisfaction of bringing smiles to the faces of the children at the orphanage, the serenity experienced in the lap of nature, and the knowledge gained through academic enrichment made this Diwali vacation truly unforgettable.
