THE PRINCIPAL BELIEFS OF ISLAM
- Beliefs are more aligned to the teachings of the Qur’an
- Practices are more aligned to the 5 Pillars
- Islamic belief comes from Allah as revealed in the Qur’an
- There are 7 articles of its creed – Aqida ul-Islam – as revealed by Allah
There are 7 basic articles of faith set out in the Qur’an-:
- Tawhid – the Oneness of Allah
- The Sacred Books of Allah
- Rusul – Prophets
- Yawmuddin – The Day of Judgement
- Al-Akhira – Life after death
- Al-Qadr – Fate or predestination
These beliefs can also be classified according to the following three headings: –
- Tawhid – the Oneness of Allah (1 & 7)
- Rusul – Prophethood (2, 3 & 4)
Akhira – Life after death (5 & 6)

Judaism's sacred text (Tanakh), contains 3 main sections - Torah, Nevi'im and Ketuvim. Contains poetry, creation, stories, laws and commandments. Summary : Sacred texts can be either oral or written and provide the foundation for beliefs and ethics of a religion, guiding adherents and maintaining the principal beliefs.
Christians believe that: God guides the community in its decisions. the immediate followers of Jesus, the "Apostles", have a special position. They were taught by Jesus himself, and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to inspire and guide them. Paul is counted as an Apostle even though he wasn't with Jesus during his ministry.
