Each body paragraph begins with a topic sentence summarizing the main point of the paragraph, followed by a detailed explanation and examples. Let’s write our body paragraphs.

Paragraph 1

“Compassion is at the core of my personality, driving my aspiration to become a nurse. It allows me to form connections with patients, understanding their needs and providing empathetic care. I have always found satisfaction in helping others, which I believe will aid in providing quality nursing care to my patients.”

Note that the topic sentence gives the context for the entire paragraph. The subsequent sentences explain the supporting point, and the rest provides an illustration.

Paragraph 2

“A personal experience profoundly influenced my decision to become a nurse. A close family member was hospitalized for a long period, and I observed the exceptional care provided by the nurses, which brought comfort not just to the patient, but to our entire family. This experience demonstrated the positive impact nurses can have on patients and their families, inspiring me to join this noble profession.”

Paragraph 3

“My desire to contribute to healthcare is another driving factor behind my aspiration to become a nurse. The healthcare field is constantly evolving, and I yearn to be a part of the progress, enhancing patient care and healthcare delivery. I want to utilize my skills and knowledge to improve the health outcomes of my patients, contributing to the larger healthcare framework.”

Each body paragraph follows the structure mentioned above, starting with the topic sentence, followed by an explanation and an example.

Excellent! Now, let’s move on to the final step.

Step 5. Write the concluding paragraph.

The easiest way to write a concluding paragraph is to paraphrase the points you’ve already mentioned in the introductory paragraph. Don’t just copy it! Instead, look at your introductory paragraph and write the conclusion based on it.

Here’s how to do this for our sample essay:

“The nursing profession demands compassion, resilience, and a commitment to improving healthcare. My aspiration to become a nurse stems from my innate compassion, a life-changing personal experience, and a strong desire to contribute to healthcare. My compassion forms the basis for providing empathetic care, my personal experience highlights the crucial role nurses play, and my commitment to healthcare propels me to continuously strive for better patient care.”

By paraphrasing the points made in the introductory paragraph, writing the concluding paragraph becomes a straightforward task.

My Goals To Become A Nurse (Essay Example)

I’ve had the pleasure of working as a Medical Assistant Care Coordinator at a community health center for more than eight years. Throughout these years I have learned invaluable lessons along the way. These lessons have come from working in healthcare and my own personal experiences. They have allowed me to continue to pursue my education and have ensured I am heading in the right direction in becoming a nurse.

I came from humble beginnings, my parents immigrated to America from Mexico to give me a better life. I grew up in a low-income community and my parents could not afford health insurance. So, we went to a community clinic that catered to low-income families. I was inspired by the Hispanic doctors and nurses. It was the first time I saw someone who looked like me in a medical role.  I observed them and became fascinated by their knowledge, verbiage and interactions. After every visit, I felt a sense of courage to continue my education and become a nurse. It was the first time I had role models other than my parents. Growing up, I was not considered “smart”, I struggled in my education. At times I doubted myself and how far I can go with my education. Once I graduated, I became a medical assistant. And when obstacles arose, I learned to be resilient.  I would remind myself of my goals. And how I could make a difference just like the nurses who inspired me. The ambition I have in becoming a nurse is to not only care for people, but also impact them. There is a need for more Hispanic representation in healthcare. By providing cultural and linguistic services we can better serve those within the healthcare system.

Being resourceful is a lesson I had to learn while working in a clinic. I had a new patient who came for an evaluation on his foot, who at the time had elevated blood pressure. I was called in to counsel patient about dietary and exercise benefits to lower blood pressure while he waited for his lab results. The patient notified me that he was homeless and unemployed and was living near the river. The patient mentioned that the recommendations given to him where of no help to him given his situation and just needed help with his foot. Once the lab results were resulted, the provider determined he had type 2 diabetes. The wound was in terrible condition, it needed the correct treatment and service. However, the patient declined to go to wound care due to cost and transportation. It became clear I needed to find resources to overcome such barriers impeding his health. I continued to educate him on the dangers of ulcers as a diabetic and presented all his resource option. He was stunned to see how dedicated I was to help him and agreed with the care plan. Time was not on our side, he needed to take care of the wound immediately. I could see the optimization problems unfolding in front of me: maximizing health under the constraints of chronic co-morbidities, cost and socioeconomic factors. I seeked the help of wound care nurses, to provide guidance. I was able to provide the supplies along with instructions to take care of his wound and diabetes while his insurance become active. I followed up every couple of days to see how it was progressing since he could not get transportation to come in. Within those 3 weeks he finally came in and the wound was almost gone.  He was so excited and thankful for the attention his wound was give. This man not only cleaned his wound in the river but also lowered his glucose in times of hardship. I informed him that I was very proud of him and he replied, “if it wasn’t for you and the doctor, I would have lost my foot”. This case proved that I was not only resourceful but have a real determination to care for others and to try to make a difference in people’s lives.

My personal and professional goal is to aid the socioeconomic disadvantaged communities that suffer from health concerns at disproportionate rates. Becoming a nurse would allow me to empower patients, to make educated autonomous health decisions, especially those from marginalized communities. I have shown that I am resilient and resourceful, and I will continue to peruse my education until I become a nurse.

Nursing is one of the most professionally, personally, and spiritually rewarding careers there is.

People are driven to a career in nursing for a variety of reasons. Carson-Newman wanted to better understand and document some of these reasons, which is why we reached out to 15 registered nurses, including three of our own FNP students, to get their perspectives on a simple question: What do you find most rewarding about a career in nursing ?

"What I find most rewarding about my career as a nurse is that I have the opportunity to help people in their most vulnerable, and unexpected, moments. For some, coming to the emergency department can be one of the worst days of their lives. As their nurse, my job is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

"There are many things that motivated me to choose nursing as a career. First, I love people. I love chatting with them, being around them, and taking care of them—it is very fulfilling to my soul. The second reason is that the schedule is wonderful for being a mother. I now have the opportunity to work per diem and work around my husband's schedule so I can spend lots of time with our children.

"Lastly, I love that it provides great compensation so that I can contribute to my family financially. Five years ago, my husband and I paid off $266,000 of debt, and I am so thankful for my various nursing jobs that allowed me to work to reach this goal. I also love the culture of nursing in my emergency department. It feels like we understand each other, like we can look at each other in a certain way and know what we are thinking. "I became a nurse in response to nothing short of “a calling.” I was visiting my grandmother with my mother. She had gone into another room to visit with someone else she knew, and I went to get her. "I have spent my entire career with women during the childbearing period. It is mostly wonderful, but when it is not, it is terrible.

"As an operating room nurse at a trauma center, there are times that can be pretty stressful and fast paced. Recently, a trauma was called and about six of us rushed to the OR to set up. All we typically know during these events are the very basics, and in this case, a motor vehicle accident had occurred, and we needed to do an exploratory laparotomy. Within about two minutes, we had the supplies and instruments opened, scrub techs were setting up, and anesthesia was getting ready. I looked around and was so proud to be a part of a team that could, within minutes, be ready to potentially save someone's life. Those are times when I am proud to be a perioperative nurse and I find them especially rewarding.

"What motivated me to choose this career? High demand, good pay, multiple specialties to work in, the ability to move forward with my career if I choose (i.e. nurse practitioner, administration) and the feeling of making a difference.

"30 years of being a nurse and I have never had a regret about my career choice. I knew when I was five years old that helping people and talking with them was what I was meant to do.

"I have worked in all critical care areas from emergency to the cardiovascular ICU to the general systems ICU; I now work in the post-operative care unit and have 10 years of experience flying with our air ambulance service in a helicopter. I get to make a profound difference every single day. That profound difference is different for every patient, depending on what they need from me at their time of need. "Being with people at what is sometimes the worst moments of their lives or the best moments (diagnosis is negative or the birth of a baby) is a privilege and one I take very seriously. Being with a family as their loved one is passing away is the ultimate compliment for a nurse. Death is a sacred and scary time for many, and to be allowed within that sacred circle to offer support and comfort is what is rewarding about nursing.

"If I can walk away after my shift knowing that I have eased a person’s worry or fear and brought some sort of peace to them, then my day is fulfilled. And the best part of that is that I get many opportunities every day that I work."

Introduction

Really it is a nurse who does everything for us when we are in a hospital. I have met the different nurse and all of them were alike. Their main aim is to serve the patient and treat them in the absence of the doctor.

What Inspires me to be a Nurse?

There are many reasons to be a nurse and the very first one is:

• They are brave and I have seen a live example in this corona epidemic. Even our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi praised the medical staff. I have seen nurses treating small infants who were away from their mothers. They treated everyone and set a new image in the society.
• My second inspiration is a nurse themselves because they get a chance to take care of people. It is very virtuous to help someone when they are not well. When we are in pain, we need someone and it is one of the best ways to help others. But not all of us get a chance to do so. So, I want to become a nurse.

There are some positive aspects of every profession. Being a nurse is a matter of pride and I want to become a nurse. They always motivate their patient and make sure they will be fine soon. We sleep but they stay awaken whole night to take care of us. Really, they are the real heroes and it is very seldom they get recognition.

Essay 2 (400 Words) – Nursing is a Beautiful Profession

It is true that none of us has seen God, but have seen people helping in such a way that we feel like God has sent them especially for us. The same feeling, we have when we are sick and our doctors and nurse take care of us. Doctors visit us only from time to time, whereas nurses take care of us the entire day as well as night. They stay awaken so that we can sleep peacefully.

History of the Nursing Profession

It was ‘Florence Nightingale’ the first nurse of the world and was from a British family. Once in her cultural visit to Egypt, she visited a hospital and orphanage and decided to become a doctor. Although her family never allowed her to do so, she chose nursing as a profession.

She also won the title of ‘a lady with the lamp’; she wrote many books on nursing and was also awarded the Royal Red Cross from the Queen. Every year we celebrate the International nursing day which is held on the 12th of May. It is her birthday.

There is another famous name is of Mother Teresa, she devoted her life to nursing and helped the poor. She was also awarded the Noble Peace prize for her extraordinary work in the year 1979 for her care towards society. She helped everyone like a mother and people started calling her, ‘Mother Teresa’. She was an amazing personality and lived in India. She was a saint and a strong supporter of Christianity as well as humanity.

How to be a Nurse?

• For choosing a nursing profession one should have to take Biology in their school and should pursue their further studies in the same subject.
• After completing academics, one should complete B.Sc. nursing. It is a 4 years graduation program. Both males, as well as female candidates, can have this course.
• After completing their graduation one can also complete their M.Sc. and simultaneously can also start an internship program.
• There are some other courses like General Nursing Midwifery and Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery also available for the nursing profession. But there are some terms and conditions for these courses.
• After completing these studies one can apply for various requirements and start nursing as a profession.

If you are really passionate, you will definitely be a nurse someday. It is a matter of pride to help the helpless and a nurse get this chance every day. • They work for us without thinking about themselves. Sometimes a contaminated disease can also make them sick; still, they won’t stop and always be present for you at every circumstance.
• In the corona epidemic when there were no family members with a corona patient, these nurses served their best. It was so dangerous but they worked on a very high risk for us.

Special Qualities of a Nurse

• They are the most caring creatures on the earth. When you met an accident and bleed badly, they do your dressing. When you go through an operation and feel painful, they provide you medicine and take care of your comfort. Really, they are very caring and help you a lot to be fit and fine again.

If it weren’t for engineers, our world would not have so many inventions. There are several types of engineers, such as mechanical, electrical, civil and aviation. I am fascinated with the working of machinery. So I want to become a mechanical engineer and invent machines to make life simpler.

My life ambition is to become a police officer. The profession of police is brave and interesting. Police officers maintain law and order in our society. They save us from thieves and other criminals. Our society has different types of people, some good and some bad. The bad try to harm the good people physically or by cheating them. Police ensure the bad people are caught and put in prison. They ensure peace and safety in society. When I grow up and become a police officer, I want to catch criminals and make society a safe place for everyone.

Every kid dreams of becoming someone important and successful when they grow up. I too want to be someone important when I grow up. I also want to serve my country and make India the best country to live in. Therefore, I want to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. An IAS officer makes sure the country is functioning properly. They are the people who ensure the government projects, plans and schemes are executed properly. They also ensure the government funds are utilised honestly for the welfare of their fellow citizens. So as an IAS officer, I will make my county proud of my work.

Most kids want to become doctors or engineers when they grow up. But, I dream of becoming a lawyer when I grow up. A lawyer is a professional who helps people fight their judicial battles and win them. In our society, there are many kinds of people. Some people take advantage of others and wrongly cheat them of their property, money or rights. To punish such bad people, the people who are harmed file suits in court against them. Lawyers fight their court cases and ensure they get justice. As a lawyer, I will help the police send criminals to jail, and ensure that good people get justice.

Ever since I was a baby, I have been fascinated with nurses. Every time I visited the hospital with my parents for check-ups, the lovely nurses there pampered me a lot. Their smiling faces and caring attitude always impressed me. They are very helpful and caring. More than doctors, the nurses take care of the patients, and they are the ones who give medicines and injections and look after patients day and night. Therefore, it’s my dream to become a nurse when I grow up. As a nurse, I want to treat and care for people in their sicknesses and see them getting better.
