Landscape gardener sample cover letter

This free sample cover letter for a landscape gardener has an accompanying landscape gardener sample resume and sample landscape gardener job advertisement to help you put together a winning job application.

22 June 2012 Doug Pipe Manager Terrafirma Landscapers Re: Landscape Gardener position Dear Mr Pipe I am writing to apply for the position of Landscape Gardener at Terrafirma as advertised recently on SEEK.com.au. I am a highly organised and motivated professional landscaper/gardener, with several years of experience in the industry. In my current role as groundskeeper for Hillstone Heights House – featured in Garden Views magazine in 2011 – I am responsible for the maintenance of the entire six-acre property. This includes everyday maintenance such as mowing, irrigation, pruning, plant propagation and weeding, and also extends to earthmoving, building of garden infrastructure such as retaining walls, communicating with nurseries and other garden suppliers, laying turf, and conducting small-scale arborist jobs. This has required that I work for the most part independently, but often with contractors. Prior to this, I was employed as a gardener for a commercial landscaper. Here I worked as part of a small team conducting general maintenance, plantings and earthworks on residential and commercial properties. I am fully qualified, with a Certificate II in Horticulture. It is my intention to extend these studies to Certificate III or IV level some time in the near future. Throughout my gardening career, I have endeavoured to perform the hard work and provide the delicate touch that gardening requires. I have an extremely organised and disciplined approach to work, creative flair and a good capacity to think ahead. My plant identification skills are excellent, and I have a good deal of experience in handling chemicals such as fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides. I also have my own transport, my HR licence, green card and a current first aid certificate. My resume is attached and I look forward to being able to discuss the position with you further.
