In origin, I’m from Bangladesh. But after the partition, my family came and settled in a remote village in Murshidabad. Presently, I stay in Kolkata with my parents, but several times I have heard my father remember his childhood days in the village.

During the vacations, I often visit the village. People are so innocent there and all of them love us so much. They care for their nature and do not harm it like the urban people. Also, they have still kept their tribal festivals intact. I love to enjoy their traditional food and this bonding between my people in the village. Whenever I visit my village, it has always been so ni experience.

Since my childhood days, I used to fantasize about spending my life in our ancestral village. Staying in a village has never been an opportunity for me because I am born and brought up in the city. We hardly get a chance to meet my ancestral people in the village of Murshidabad. The story goes back to the partition of India when my great grandparents migrated from Bangladesh and settled in Murshidabad to protect their families. At that time they were extremely poor and had a humble income to spend their days. They were followed by many others.

The village is now much more developed than it was when first inhabited. When I visit the village with my parents, during the vacation, it gets quite enjoyable to meet them after a long time. The clean air and water are beautiful with pure fruits and vegetables to eat. The reads are of red soil and soft to walk over. The humble neighbour of that village is the main reason I love my village. 

Some of our relatives still live in the village. Their primary profession is agriculture. During my visit, my cousins took me to show the agricultural fields. It was totally a mesmerizing experience. The entire horizon was green and such a peaceful life that I could never experience in the city.

Life in a village is much different from what we experience in the city. The urban lifestyle does not provide us with all views of the Earth. The world has much more greenery and beauty than it seems to us. The city definitely gives a modern life, better infrastructure, more communication, and quick connections. But it also takes away the natural goodness from us.

I find myself extremely lucky to think that I am from a village. I stay in a distant village in the suburbs of Darjeeling. The best part of living in a village is that I can stay far away from the daily crowd of the city. The city is too confusing and suffocating for me. I cannot bear staying there even for a week. I always crave the peace I get in my own village. The village called Kasaimara is extremely beautiful in its flora and fauna. The air is clean and pure like the innocent people of my village.

We do not have many modern amenities like the city. We often face problems with network and communication, we do not have good schools or hospitals. But still, the peace of nature allows us to live a long and healthy life. I love to take long walks up the hill slopes in the morning or often cycle all the way. It saves the cost of taking any gym practice and is also helpful in maintaining a healthy body and peaceful mind. 

Due to no pollution, we always have a majestic view of the mountains from our village. Around 50-50 families live in our village. For weekend and holiday picnics, all our villagers come together and celebrate with our ethnic music and dance. It is not like the mechanical life of the city. Everything we do here has a spontaneous charm and is full of life.

The environment of my village is so beautiful. The people work hard to preserve ethnic integrity. We have a rich history o folktales and myths. As a child, I often heard my grandparents tell me stories about them. They are precious and innocent like the people. They easily befriend other members, even from a different community. My village celebrates our own tribal festivals with great enjoyment and pomp. I am extremely lucky that I am a proud villager of India. We do not have many facilities, but at the end of the day, we are at peace with ourselves and others.

Short Essay on Village Life

Village life is a reflection of interdependency between the different communities. You can witness pure love and brotherhood among people. People living in rural areas are simple and lead a life following the traditional method of living without any modern amenities. The other side to its beauty is its difficulty. 

Villages are devoid of the comfort and facilities that are available in urban society. There is no source of entertainment and people need to arrange things on their own. Facilities like proper sewage areas, toilets, electricity, etc are also not available in villages. In spite of all such difficulties, people adjust to live a peaceful life in villages.

Essay on Village Life in 150 Words

With an increasing number of people in the world, pollution is also increasing. But you can lead a pollution-free life in the village. India is known for its rural life because the majority of the people are dependent on agriculture for their livelihood.

People lead a very simple life in villages. The roles of men and women are well-defined there. Women are the homemakers and look after the household activities, whereas men in the village go out and do harvesting, sowing, and other agricultural activities to earn for the family.

Though their life is simple there are various difficulties like lack of amenities, electricity, water supply, nursing house, etc.

Authentic Indian culture can be witnessed through the lifestyle led by the villagers. One thing which is a major concern for village life is the lack of education.

Education is a basic human right and every individual in the country must get an education . The Government of India must take some steps and draft some policies to impart high-quality education to the people living in villages for the further development of the rural sector.

Life in a Village 250 Words

Village life is the most beautiful representation of hard work. It is considered as the backbone of the Nation. Villagers, especially farmers give their sweat and blood for the agricultural produce to satisfy the domestic as well as international consumers. Despite all this, the villagers had to face many challenges as they were deprived of the technological advancements as well as the facilities available in the urban area.

If we compare village life vs. city life, the lack of amenities, technological advancements, and industrial inference in the villages tend to create a fresh and pollution-free environment. On the other hand city life is very polluted owing to industrialization , urbanization, and heavy population.

People in the village lead a healthy, peaceful, and happy life. If the government introduced some policies and raised funds for the development of the rural sector and provided them with some basic amenities like hospitals, nursing homes, proper sanitation systems, sewage systems, schools, electricity, etc. then the village life would be much more comfortable. 

Talking about safety, the crime rates are lower in villages as compared to cities. Most of the people living in cities take some days off to spend their holidays in villages so that they can live in peace away from the chaos of city life. The honking of cars, pollution, traffic, work stress, etc is very stressful to deal with whereas in village life things are more simple and sorted because there is no chaos and people share a bond of brotherhood. 

The major section in India is dependent on agriculture for livelihood so they live in villages. Agriculture is a tough job and living in villages is also quite a challenge but people in villages lead a peaceful and simple life.

Village life is simple and economical. Owing to less industrial pollution in villages, the village environment is full of fresh air to breathe. Children can play freely and people share the feeling of brotherhood neglecting the religious boundaries.

Away from the chaos of city lights and traffic, village life is just the opposite. It is calm and free of noise and pollution. People in the village lead a simple life and are mainly involved in the agriculture sector.

A village is a type of settlement for people in a rural area. Villages are smaller than cities. People in villages generally perform agricultural tasks and take care of the livestock. A maximum of 2500 inhabitants live in a village. People belonging to different religions, caste, or creed live here peacefully.

Life in metropolitan cities can be exciting and very happening, but life in villages has an entirely different vibe with its countryside atmosphere. The simplicity, peace and purity of a village is wonderful and unbeatable. I come from a small Himalayan village, Lamahatta, popularly known for its beauty. Here are a few sample essays on the topic ‘my village’ .

The name of my village is Lamahatta. It is a small village present in the outskirts of North Bengal. I was born and brought up in Lamahatta. Lamahatta is well known for its lush pine forests, vast stretches of Darjeeling tea garden and the views of the snow-capped mountains. It is also a tourist destination. My village remains cool all through the year. The number of people residing in Lamahatta is not more than 1000. The villagers are very helpful. The majority of the women are tea-plantation workers whereas men work in construction. A pucca road runs through the entire village with small decorated houses on each side of the road. I love my village and its people.

I come from a village named Lamahatta. The village is located at a very high altitude nearly about 5000 feet above sea level. Lamahatta is a very small village of only 1000 residents. My village has become one of the tourist destinations because of its pleasant climate and natural beauty. Lamahatta has vast stretches of tea plantations and beautiful pine forests. These forests smell refreshing and sweet due to the presence of terpenes on them. My father used to take me to the village every year during my school holidays. I used to spend the entire holidays amidst the silence of the pine forests in a little concrete house with my mother, father and my brother.

The chirping of birds all throughout the day, and the light cool breeze used to amaze me and freshen up our minds. Here in my village, the houses are beautifully decorated with orchids and other flowers. Life in a village is very different from that in urban cities. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Lamahatta has always been peaceful. The people of my village are very helpful and lovable. In the evening, after the completion of work, every woman in the village meets in a small community hall where they have a small get-together. We celebrate each and every festival with great enthusiasm.

Everyone loves their native birthplace and so do I. I was born in a village named Lamahatta located at an altitude of 5000 feet near Darjeeling, the Queen of Hills in North Bengal. 'Lama' in Lamahatta stands for a Buddhist monk and 'Hatta’ means a hut. So basically Lamahatta means a monk's hermitage. Lamahatta is an offbeat location known for its lush green pine trees and large stretches of tea gardens with a beautiful view of the mountains. Due to this, my village has become a famous tourist destination mainly during the summers and the springs.

Life In A Village | Life in my village is quite different from that in urban cities. Here, it is slower and more peaceful. People live together and lead very simple lives. We mostly stay away from the continuous hustle and bustle of urban life. My village is greener and one can feel the freshness of the air.

About My Village

The people of my village are generally tribals belonging to the Sherpas, Tamangs, Bhutias and Dukpas . They work hard every day in order to make Lamahatta a clean, simple place and attractive place to live in. I belong to the Bhutia tribe. In my house, I have my parents and my small brother. My mother works as a tea plantation worker whereas my father works at a construction site. The occupations of the people in my village are plantation workers, homestay caretakers, dhaba managers and construction workers.

Places Of Attraction | My village people, along with the support of the government, have made this an eco-tourism place. Lamahatta contributes a good amount to North Bengal tourism. People from other countries often visit my village during the summer. Besides the natural beauty, the pleasant weather makes Lamahatt a dream place and an ideal place to live in. There are many exciting places for sightseeing here. We have the Lamahatta Eco Park , a roadside garden, monasteries among the woods, trekking facilities to Sacred Pond, the Gari Danda Fort and most importantly the huge tea plantations. My village serves as the connecting route between Darjeeling and Kalimpong . We also have ‘machan’, a wooden watchtower from where we can view the entire Lamahatta. The Eco park consists of about hundreds of colorful flags. My father says that the wind blowing through these flags is considered to purify the souls and minds of the people.

Christmas Celebration in Lamahatta

We celebrate all the festivals in my village but Christmas is specially celebrated with huge pomp and gaiety. Each house is decorated with lanterns and lights. All the kids have Christmas tree decoration competitions among themselves where the best tree decorator is awarded fancy gifts by the other villagers. On Christmas eve , all the villagers meet at a common place near Eco Park where we dance and dine together. I love my village because it is peaceful and serene. Lamahatta holds a number of my childhood memories. Living here makes me relive all those magical moments. It feels good to stay here. The natural beauty of my village always amazes me.

A Model Village

India is a country of villages. There are about 15 lac villages in India. The majority of people live in them. I am also one of them. I belong to Raya. It is a village in district Mathura. It is 10 kilometres from Mathura. It is on the railway line which goes from Mathura – Agra to Bareilly.  A pucca road passes by the villages.  This road goes to Aligarh and Hatharas. Near the village there is a canal for agricultural purpose. The position of the development it has become a centre of trade – vegetable market, fair market, Station of Tongas, Tempos, and local buses.

The population of my village is eight thousands now. It is increasing day by day. The majority of people are Hindus. They belong to all castes. There are also Muslims. All the villages live with unity and co- operation. There is no Hindu- Muslim question. All share the festivals. Holi and Id, both are enjoyed by al.

There is a village Panchayat. Both Hindu and Muslims are its members. All the disputes are decided here. So nobody goes to court. The village is neat and clean. We have drains. Everybody is responsible for making the village progressive. We have a small market. All types of things can be seen there. In a week we have two weekly markets. There are some regular shops. Their number is increasing day by day.  Some shops have modern and fashionable   things to sell.

 There are some regular services taking shape of shops cloth pressing, hair- cutting, vegetable, repair shops, tea, cold drink, readymade clothes and other daily needed things.

There is a post office. We have also a hospital. All the villagers get free medicines from the hospital. It is a good centre of education. Up to twelfth class. There is public local library. There is a contribution of each villager in collection of books and newspapers.

There is a co-operative society and one co-operative store also. They give seeds, manures and other things at cheap rate. Beside it we have a co-operative bank. At least 25% of the population is taking the benefit of bank system.

Thus I can see and say that my village may be called a model village. I feel proud of it because it is electrified and taking the benefit of government schemes – dung gas plants , manure   pits, toilets and safety cooking chulhas. We have 10 tractors with trollies and other implements.

A Visit To A Village Essay

It was the month of July when our school decided to take us to see a typical Indian Village. We were all very excited and got on the school bus and were on our way to the village.

As soon as the bus reached the village called Garhi, a crowd of children gathered all around. Apparently. a school bus was not a common sight in the village. They stared at us as we got down from the bus and then started talking to each other pointing with their fingers at the various features of the bus that interested them.

The first thing that struck us was that the village was very different from the city. There were brick houses painted with yellow or blue paint. There were puddles of water here and there where the rainwater had collected. Outside the houses was an open gutter filled with filthy water with mosquitoes floating on it.

The chief of the village came to greet us and to take us around. He first took us to see the temple. We passed through the narrow muddy lanes with scarcely space for two people to walk abreast. The villagers collected on the corner of the street or stood in their doorways to look at us. They were quite surprised to see school children paying them a visit.

The temple was built of brick and stone and was painted white. There was a hall and in strong contrast to the muck outside, was surprisingly clean. The hall was cool and we were amused to see the priest lying on a “Charpoy” with his mouth open. There were three small rooms for the idols of the Gods and Goddesses but these were locked at this time of the day.

We were next taken to see the primary school. The school was a yellow building with five or six rooms. I peeped into one classroom and saw the teacher standing by her desk and the children reciting arithmetic tables in sing-song voices. We were told that the school was up to the fifth standard. The younger children were fairly regular but afterward, the attendance dropped because parents would take them away to work in the fields or to help them at home to mind their younger brothers and sisters while the parents were away at work. We had created quite a disturbance in the school and the teachers and children all stopped their work and gaped at us. So we quickly left and were taken to the fields.

The farmlands offered a lovely sight. There was a cool breeze blowing. The tall green stalks of grain seemed to wave at us. The fields stretched on endlessly till the eye could see. Here and there in the midst of the fields, there were scarecrows with their loose clothes and hats waving in the breeze and frightening away the birds. Farmhouses built of mud and thatched roofs could also be seen. After being told the various method used for irrigating the land, and the dependence of the farmers on the right weather conditions, we were taken to see the community center.

The community center was a big hall where women were taught to stitch clothes and adult education classes were held. These activities were conducted by social workers who visited the village three times a week for this purpose. The chief of the village was very proud of it, for that was one achievement to his credit since he had put in a lot of effort to get it built and move government agencies to send social workers to the village. He said he was now trying to get a dispensary built and again request the government to send qualified doctors to the village. We were all quite impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of this man to uplift his village.

Finally, we went home. We felt sorry for the villagers who were still living in such backward conditions. In spite of the efforts of the social workers, we could see that it would still be a long time before one could be proud of that village.

Globalization and technology are two sides of the same coin (Qadri, Bhat & Jamal, 2018). They are complementary and a good interface between the two is sine-qua-non for growth and development in the contemporary global village. For Domar (1957, as cited by Solow, 2000) investment has a dual role. On the one hand, it generates income and on the other hand, it increases the productive capacity in an economy. In the same manner, the modern economy has a dual role. On the one hand, it promotes globalization and on the other hand, it promotes the technology. Globalization and technology are not devils at all. There is no good or bad globalization. In the same manner, there is no good or bad technology. Good or bad discourse arises due to good or bad interface between the two. The present paper argues that the good interface between globalization and technology will generate the 'globalization of novelty' which is nothing but the 'globalization of technological innovations' (Archibugi&Iammarino, 2002) and it will definitely be the connecting link between 'globalization' and 'economics of knowledge' (Archibugi&Iammarino, 2002). Further, the present paper argues that there is a two-way causal relationship or bi-way causality between globalization and technology (Chareonwongsak, 2002). Technology is both strength as well as the weakness of globalization. If it is not in tune with globalization then it becomes its weakness instead of strength and vice versa. Since globalization is beyond what we are seen and observed (Chareonwongsak, 2002, Bhattacharya, Bürkner and Bijapurkar, 2016) the present paper argues that 'globalization of novelty' (author's own term) or 'globalization of technological innovations' is achieved only and only if we understand the reality of economics of knowledge and ideas. That is to say that a good interface between globalization and technology is a matter of sound understanding of the economics of knowledge and ideas. The need of the hour is to understand the economics of knowledge and ideas so as to understand the interface between globalization and technology. The economic inequalities we realize today is a result of how we manage globalization and technology (Reeves and Harnoss, 2016). For reducing economic inequalities and achieving a fair distribution of income, output, and employment in an economy it is essential to realize a good interface between globalization and technology. Therefore, in order to realize a good interface or interaction, the present paper suggests some ways and means which has a policy and future implication.
