Speech on Mother’s Love

Mother’s love is like a shining star, always bright and warm. It is a bond that remains unbroken, regardless of time or distance. You know that comforting, warm feeling when your mom hugs you? That’s a tiny glimpse of mother’s love.

This affection is more than just a feeling. It’s an incredible force that shapes us, teaching us about kindness, empathy, and the strength of human connections. Mother’s love is a beautiful journey, full of precious moments that become lifelong memories.

1-minute Speech on Mother’s Love

Ladies and gentlemen, today we will talk about something precious and pure – a mother’s love. It is a kind of love that shines bright and never fades. It is a love that starts even before we open our eyes to the world and stays with us until the end.

A mother’s love is like a blanket that wraps us in warmth, security and comfort. It is that warm hug on a cold day, that encouraging smile when we are down, that gentle push when we are scared to take the first step. It is a light that guides us in the darkest tunnel, and a voice that echoes in our hearts when we need guidance.

A mother’s love is not just about caring and protecting. It is also about teaching and guiding. A mother teaches us to walk, to talk, to laugh, and to love. She guides us in our journey, showing us the right path, teaching us the difference between right and wrong, and helping us become the best version of ourselves.

A mother’s love is selfless and unconditional. She loves us not because she expects something in return, but because we are a part of her. She sacrifices her comfort, her sleep, her time, and even her dreams, just to see us happy. Her love is not measured in words or actions, but in the pain she bears, the smiles she shares, and the dreams she nurtures.

So, let’s take a moment to appreciate the love of all the mothers in the world. Let’s thank them for their endless love, care, and sacrifices. Let’s celebrate the power of a mother’s love, which is the strongest and the most beautiful love in the world.

2-minute Speech on Mother’s Love

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, today we gather to talk about a special kind of love, a love that is pure, unconditional, and everlasting. Today, we talk about a mother’s love. It’s not just a feeling, but a powerful force that shapes us and makes us who we are.

Imagine a love so strong that it begins even before we open our eyes to the world for the first time. This is a mother’s love. From the moment we start to grow inside her, she loves us. She carries us for nine months, feeling every kick, every heartbeat, sharing her own life to give us ours. A mother’s love is a miracle that never ends, a treasure that we carry with us always.

A mother’s love is a guiding light that leads us through the darkest times. When we’re lost, confused, or hurt, it’s a mother’s love that shows us the way. She wipes away our tears, holds our hand, and tells us that everything will be okay. And in her arms, we believe it will be. A mother’s love is a beacon of hope in a world that can sometimes seem scary and uncertain.

A mother’s love is a teacher, too. She teaches us right from wrong, and shows us the value of kindness, respect, and honesty. She leads by example, showing us that love is not just a word, but an action. A mother’s love is a lesson that stays with us, guiding us long after we’ve grown up and left home.

And most importantly, a mother’s love is a gift given freely, without expecting anything in return. She doesn’t love us because we’re smart, or because we’re good at sports, or because we’re pretty or handsome. She loves us just because we are hers. A mother’s love is unconditional. It doesn’t change if we make mistakes, if we fail, if we’re not perfect. A mother’s love is steady, constant, and unwavering.

In the end, a mother’s love is the most powerful love of all. It shapes us, guides us, teaches us, and accepts us for who we are. It’s a love that never ends, a love that we carry with us always. This is the magic of a mother’s love. It’s a love that’s not just felt, but lived. Every day, in every moment, a mother’s love is there, reminding us that we are loved, that we are important, that we matter.

So today, let’s celebrate this incredible love. Let’s say thank you to our mothers, for their love, their sacrifices, their lessons, and their unwavering belief in us. Let’s honor them, not just today, but every day. Because a mother’s love is a gift that keeps on giving, a treasure that we carry with us always.

A mother is an icon of sacrifice and love. She is our first well-wisher, our first teacher, and also our first friend. She has to awake many nights just for taking care of her child. A mother is always standing by her child in every situation whether it is a good moment or a bad one.

Short Speech on Mothers for Mother’s Day | 1 Minute

If an angel asks me to make a wish, I would make a wish for good health and prosperity for another Angel on earth and that is my mother. If I am not wrong you would also do the same.

Greetings to everyone gathered here. I (your name) cordially welcome all of you & want to pay you thanks for having me a chance to speak in front of you.

Did you know? The word “ Mother ” is derived from the Sanskrit word “ maatri ” which means a woman who gives birth & a mother is the most influential character in everyone’s life. She is our first well-wisher, our first teacher, and also our first friend. She has to awake many nights just for taking care of her child.

Today I want to say a few words to my mother-“Dear mom, you made me the luckiest person in the world by being my mother. I can not repay you what you did for me. I just want to express my love to you. You’re the woman that has sacrificed all her life just to build mine”.

Thank you, Mom. Love you, Mom.

Emotional Speech on Mothers | 2 MInutes

Hello and welcome to all the people present here. Before I start my speech on mothers, I would like to wish you a Happy mothers Day. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

As you know I am here to speak a few words about mothers but the fact is; “No matter how much effort is made, it is impossible to define the word “Mother” in available words in the world”. A mother sacrifices her days and nights for her children’s happiness and to satisfy their needs.

I assure you, you will be running out of energy if you put yourself into the shoes of your mother. Then you will realize the actual workload that she has to deal with. After, you will question yourself,” how does my mother manage all that?”. And you will result in respecting her more intensely than ever.

Her love is unalloyed (unmixed). Those who have not experienced a mother’s affection are unfortunate. She loves their child with no expectations in return. Sorry to fathers but fathers can’t establish a connection with their child-like mothers does.

At last, I want to say a few words dedicated to my mother; “Dear mom, whatever I am today is because I have you. You taught me to be myself even during hard times. I wish you nothing more than fulfillment and happiness”

Thank you for always being my defence, fortress, and shield. Your love has been the pillow I rest on during the hard times, I can’t afford to repay you. Love you, Mom.

Heart touching Speech on Mothers | 4 Minutes

I cordially welcome all of you gathered here. I am here to deliver a speech on mothers. Before I start my speech, I would like to wish you a Happy mothers Day. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

In philosophy, it is said that when God found it tough to protect the whole world, he made mothers. A mother is a beautiful gem in everyone’s life and can not be replaced by anyone else. She is the one who takes care of us in our childhood, encourages us in our teenage, and supports us in our hard times.

When we were kids and could not be able to help ourselves, she took care of us and devoted her days and nights to the sake of our comfort. But, Today we are mature enough to take responsibility. Now we must serve our Mother with love.

Irrespective of what the condition is, you will always find your mother standing by you. She is our first well-wisher, our first teacher, and also our first friend. She will take care of you at every age. The connection she shares with her child, can’t be established with anyone else in the world.

There is no doubt that a mother’s love is very outstanding and hard to find anywhere else. This is unique because a mother perceives her child as her part. This attachment is very sensitive as a mother can sense your situations and feelings from a long distance.

One thing is crystal clear we cannot repay her favours but we should try to get her free from all her responsibilities at least once a week. What does she expect from us other than respect? So we need to respect her cordially. We must always try to keep her happy and relaxed.

Mothers are a great invention of God. All the mothers on the planet, be humans, animals, or any other species, are greatly appreciable. They are a combination of love, strength, and limitless courage. I am very thankful to God for blessing me with my mother.

At last, I want to dedicate some of my words to my mother; “my angel, my strength and my supermom. For replacing my shame with boldness, my sadness with happiness and my fear with courage, thank you.

Even after all these years, you are the most gorgeous and kindest woman I know. No wonder you don’t age. I’m so glad to be called your son. Looking at you reminds me that not all angels have wings and not all Superheroes wear special costumes. You have been my guardian angel from the first day and I love you, forevermore”.

Love you, Love you, Love you, My mother.

Your Ideal Companion by Vedantu

My Mother Speech is kind of a special one as one gets to express what they truly feel for the most important person in their life without whom there would be no existence and sometimes for Speech On My Mother it can also be difficult as one is overwhelmed with emotions to express their love and gratitude. This can be given on special occasions like birthdays, or Mother’s day or on any day one wishes to celebrate their mother’s love and presence in their life. This speech can be given in varying formats like Long Speech on My Mother or Short Speech on My Mother.

Long Speech on My Mother

Good Morning all, a warm welcome to everyone who has gathered here today for the celebration of the most important and underappreciated figure in our lives, our Mothers.

Whenever one is in pain and hurt, they like to tend to the care of their mother, and whenever one wishes to celebrate a success also one first likes to thank their mother and I am no different. My mother brought me into this world with a lot of love and pain so it is natural that when we are in extremes of our emotional state we like to run to our mother for her care and concern and she always embraces us.

My mother is my biggest supporter and cheerleader, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother for everything she has done for me and my siblings. A mother is like nature, she is giving and forgiving, she is the most nurturing and compassionate person in the world. My mother works unrelentingly to make the lives of everyone around her better, she wakes up every morning before dawn and works till late at night, and more often these efforts go unnoticed by the people around her, and yet she doesn’t complain. She is the one who has taught me all about time management living by example. For me, she is the true definition of selflessness.

My mother is my best friend. We share everything and she is very open and blunt about what she thinks about my actions. This quality of my mother has taught me the importance of being honest with kindness and not being rude just because you think differently from others. My mother has taught me how to not give up after faltering, she has always motivated me in trying again and doing new things to discover myself. All my mistakes were also celebrated. She is a great host, whenever my friends or our relatives come home, she prepares a full treat meal and everyone’s taste is served and everyone is well-fed, even if it is late in the evening. Her welcoming nature has taught me to be open and gracious as well. Well, I would be lucky to have half the grace she exudes. She is the one who has taught me all about time management living by example. There is no one like her, she is my superhero.

When you have such a great living example at home, you don’t need to look for inspiration elsewhere. My mother uplifts everyone around her, and I am always in awe of her exuberant personality. There is a popular saying that goes because God can’t be everywhere he made mothers, isn’t that so true and wonderfully put. You are the best mother in the world. I only hope to become half the woman that you are. I love you Maa.

5. How to Explain that my Mother is My First Teacher?

As beautiful as God's love to the universe is, a mother's love for her child is slightly below it, if not right next to it. No words can express the love that mothers have for their children. They not only play one role of mother but also the first teacher of every child. They teach us to walk, talk, and eat. They teach us manners and etiquette. They feed us, care for our needs, and help us develop as individuals. They help us in our studies and also encourage our talents.

Speech on Mother

A very warm welcome to all the teachers and students present in the auditorium. I am here to deliver a speech on mother. We have many relationships with people around us that we cherish. But, the most important, loved, the pure and divine relationship is that of a mother and child. A mother’s selfless love, care, and affection make it the most significant and Godly relationship. I would like to quote Rudyard Kipling’s words here. He said, “God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers”. I truly believe these words of his. We say that God created mankind but our mothers created us. A mother not only gives us life but does our upbringing and also protects us. Thus, she is our Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh.

From the time when a mother conceives her child, she gets emotionally attached to the child. A child is only the flesh and blood of her. She undergoes immense pain while delivering a child. Yet, she can never see her child in pain or any problem.

She is the protective shield and safeguards her child in all situations. She spends sleepless nights while raising her child but never complains. Her feelings, emotions, love, care, and affection are completely incomparable and selfless.

Mother as Teacher

She helps us in our studies and also encourages our talents. Her whole life revolves around her children.

She also inculcates qualities of love, care, understanding, helping others, honesty, empathy, etc. in us. She inclines us towards believing and having faith in God. We also learn religious things from her. A mother teaches us many moral lessons through story-telling or poetry. She is thus similar to Goddess Saraswati.

Mother as a Friend

Our mother is our first and best friend. She understands everything we say and also what we are not able to say. Her shoulder is always there in the times when we feel low. She laughs with us, plays with us, goes out with us and enjoys with us. A mother never judges us, no matter what wrong we do. She shares her life experiences with us which makes us strong. We can talk about everything to her. She always guides us through difficult times.

After having said about the mother, I would like to conclude by saying that words always fall short when you talk about the sacrifice and love of a mother. A mother is definitely next to God or rather above God as she is the one who teaches us to believe in God and have faith in Him. She is the most adorable and lovable person in this world. Her prayers and good wishes are always there with her children.

So, friends, we should always love and respect our mother and her thoughts. It is our duty to take care of our parents when they get old as they did in our childhood. I request you all to love and respect our parents unconditionally and selflessly and make this world a wonderful place to live. Today, I also take the opportunity to thank my mother and being grateful to her and God for having me in her life.

Mother’s Day Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

"Maa" changed to "Mummy," and "Mummy" changed to "Mom" . But regardless of what we label it, our mother's love and compassion for us remain constant. The sacrifices a woman makes for her children cannot be repaid in a single day. Even so, we honour mothers by celebrating her on mother’s day.

  • 10 lines speech on Mother’s Day

Every year we celebrate the second Sunday of May as mother’s day. This day differs from region to region and may be celebrated before or after in a few countries.

Short Speech on Mother’s Day

  • Long speech on Mother's Day

Mother’s Day Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Mother is considered the epitome of love and affection. Nobody in the world can replace a mother.

Charley Benetto once said that when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest form of love.

The struggles of a mother start from the day she conceives and goes on for a lifetime.

For every child who fulfilled his dream, there was a mother behind sacrificing her sweet dreams for reality.

The same sweet and innocent mother becomes the warrior when any problems occur in the lives of her children.

This day gives us the moment to think about the sacrifices made by the mother and thank her.

The closest and the most transparent relation any person can share is with their mothers.

There are a few situations in which we have seen people leaving their mothers to old age homes as they didn't realise their worth.

It is very late when they realise their worth. So it would be better if we understood the value of this before only.

A mother can do every possible thing for the sake of her family and doesn't ask for anything in return. She feeds her child with her flesh and blood. Even a small token of love is appreciated by our mothers. She teaches us all the things in life. From using a fork to choosing a friend, from reading books to reading the minds of people, from walking a step to walking into realities of life, from drawings to dreams every path we conquer is all due to the support of our mothers.

It is our due responsibility to take care of our mothers and treat them with respect. The overall character and personality of the child are determined by the mother. She sticks to us through thick and thin.

Great personalities have different perspectives of looking at things. So, once when our president APJ Abdul Kalam was asked about birthdays, he replied “ It is the only day in your life... Your mother smiled when you cried” . She gives us life on a single day but she dies every day to give us a good upbringing.

Each religion teaches us to respect our mothers. She is considered great even when considered to be a god. Even the god bows down to her. Lord Vishnu reincarnated as Little Krishna only to experience the love of the mother. The love of the mother is the only thing that doesn't discriminate or change the situation.

Long speech on Mother's Day

Mother is the first person whom we contact on this earth. The pain experienced by any woman while giving birth is the highest amount of pain any human can endure. According to The Bible, God can't be present anywhere, so he created the mothers. This single word holds enormous feelings. Nobody can replace a mother, but the rest of everybody can be replaced by a good mother. She is our first teacher, First friend, guide, philosopher, cook and many more.

She is the biggest support system in our lives. Mary Mason says “A baby is a thing you carry in your womb for nine months, in your arms for three years and in your heart till you die” . This line implies the feelings a mother has for her child.

History | In the American context, The first efforts were made by Anna Jarvis followed by the death of her mother in 1905. The holiday was first celebrated in the year 1907. President Woodrow Wilson announced it as an official holiday in 1914. However, the celebration of motherhood can be traced back to ancient Romans and Greeks, who held festivals in honour of mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele.

Celebrations

The modern-day celebration started in America. However, few countries follow different days and dates. Many countries such as Albania, Armenia, Russia, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Kosovo, Laos, Serbia, and Tajikistan celebrate it along with International Women’s day.

Few countries like Ireland, Nigeria and the U.K. celebrate Mothering Sunday on the “Fourth Sunday” of May month.

Many countries celebrate it on the Spring equinox on 21 March. These are Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan and many more.

In India, It is celebrated on the Second Sunday of May along with countries like Austria, Australia, Bhutan, Canada, Cambodia, Denmark, Greece, Pakistan and many more.

This is the story of a little boy who was taught by his mother. His mother was a schoolteacher. This child was inquisitive. But when he attended school, he faced various problems. He wasn't able to understand things. This was because he developed hearing problems at the age of 12. He became completely deaf in one ear. However, he was attracted to science and conducted many experiments at home.

Once when he returned from school he had a note written by this teacher. He handed the note to his mother and said that my teacher said only you could open it. His mother opened the letter and weepingly said, Your teacher says the child is extremely intelligent for the school and so, the school can’t teach him.

After many years after the death of his mother, while cleaning the closet he found that letter. When he opened the letter, he found that his teacher had written that “Your child is addled and hence, a misfit for the school” . He credited all his success to his mother who didn't stop him from learning and rather worked hard to teach him.

This was the story of a very famous scientist, who failed a thousand times before his invention. The boy was Mr Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor of the light bulb.

Speech Script: Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a special occasion that offers us the opportunity to express our love and gratitude for the remarkable women who have played a vital role in our lives. Whether you are delivering a speech at a public event or simply want to convey your heartfelt emotions in a personal gathering, a well-crafted Mother’s Day speech can leave a lasting impression. In this article, we will explore the essential elements and steps to help you write an exceptional speech that honors and celebrates the incredible mothers in our lives.

Table of Contents

Reflecting on Your Relationship

Before you begin writing your speech, take some time to reflect on your relationship with your mother or the mother figure you are celebrating. Consider the cherished memories, lessons learned, and the impact she has had on your life. These reflections will provide you with a solid foundation to shape your speech and ensure its authenticity.

Establishing a Theme

A compelling speech often revolves around a central theme or message. This theme can be based on your mother’s qualities, her influence, or the significance of motherhood in general. Choose a theme that resonates with your personal experiences and allows you to express your admiration and gratitude effectively.

Structuring Your Speech

Introduction.

Begin your speech with a captivating opening. You can use a meaningful quote, an anecdote, or a heartfelt personal story that captures the essence of your relationship with your mother. Introduce the theme of your speech and establish a connection with your audience by expressing how universal and relatable the bond between a mother and child is.

Divide the body of your speech into two or three main points. Each point should support and elaborate on your chosen theme. Share specific examples, memories, or qualities of your mother that highlight why she is exceptional. Use descriptive language to paint a vivid picture of her love, sacrifices, and unwavering support. Incorporate humor, if appropriate, to add warmth and authenticity to your speech.

Summarize the key points you have discussed. Reinforce the theme of your speech and emphasize the significance of mothers and motherhood. Conclude with a heartfelt message of appreciation and love, leaving the audience with a lasting impression of the incredible impact mothers have on our lives.

Adding Personal Touches

To make your speech truly memorable, incorporate personal touches that reflect your unique relationship with your mother. Share personal anecdotes, memories, or inside jokes that will resonate with both your mother and the audience. This personalization adds authenticity and depth to your speech, making it more engaging and emotionally impactful.

Editing and Rehearsing

After completing the initial draft of your speech, take the time to review and refine your writing. Ensure your ideas flow smoothly and that the language you use is clear and concise. Remove any unnecessary details or tangents that may distract from your main message.

Once you are satisfied with the content, rehearse your speech multiple times. Practice your delivery, paying attention to pacing, tone, and gestures. Rehearsing will help build your confidence and ensure a smooth and impactful delivery on Mother’s Day.

It is a day when we come together to honor and express our deepest gratitude to the incredible women who have shaped our lives—the mothers who have loved, nurtured, and guided us through every step of our journey.

As I look around this room, I see faces filled with love and appreciation for the mothers who have made a profound impact on our lives. Each one of us has a unique story, a personal connection, and a deep bond with the women we call “Mom.”

Mothers possess an unparalleled strength, a love that knows no bounds, and an unwavering dedication to their children. They are our first teachers, teaching us valuable life lessons through their actions and words. They are our cheerleaders, supporting us in every endeavor and celebrating our successes. They are our pillars of strength, providing comfort and solace during our darkest days.

Today, I want to take a moment to honor my own mother—who has been my guiding light and my greatest inspiration. Her love has been my rock, her wisdom my compass, and her unwavering support my safety net. She has taught me the importance of kindness, perseverance, and unconditional love. Her sacrifices and selflessness have shaped the person I am today, and I am forever grateful.

But let us not forget that Mother’s Day is not only about celebrating our own mothers—it is about honoring all mothers. It is about recognizing the incredible contributions of mothers everywhere, who tirelessly work towards creating a better future for their children. Today, we pay tribute to the mothers who have braved sleepless nights, sacrificed their own dreams, and poured their hearts into raising the next generation.

In a world that often moves too fast, Mother’s Day serves as a gentle reminder to pause, reflect, and express our gratitude. Mothers Day Speech

Long and Short Speech on Mother in English

Speech on mother – 1.

Good Morning all! We are here on this day to salute the most lovable and important person, the Mother. Without her, anyone of us could have not been here. We are obliged towards her for taking so much pain and labour to bring us into this beautiful world.

In the words of Agatha Christie, “A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity. It dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”

A mother feeds her children with her own blood in the womb and does a lot of sacrifices to raise her children. She is a substitute of God on this earth. No love can exceed or even match the love of a mother for her child. All the great men have reached to such points only because of the support and devotion of their mothers who always stood by them and motivated to perform ahead of the field. Gandhiji is one such example of a man who has reaped benefits from a loving and devout mother, Putlibai.

From the time we enter this world till we are carried off by the death, we come across many relationships in our lives. Some are just for a while, some deceive us and some leave us when we need them the most and some are with us because of their self-seeking attributes. But the one being that surpasses the care, affection and love of everybody for a person is the “Mother”. She is the best trainer and guide of every child. She teaches us on how to take those first steps of our lives, how to speak, write and the behavioral lessons which help us to become better adults and well conduct ourselves in this world.

Every mother should be given due respect and must be admired for all the things she does and sacrifices she makes for her children. She has done everything for her children. And now it’s our time to discharge our duties towards her. We must try our utmost to never let her down and be the cause of her grief. We should never overlook the fact that right since the time of our birth we are so dependent on her for every little thing. She is the one who supports us and continues to nurture us with all her heart. Her love and affection are incomparable and immeasurable.

Our mothers are our security blankets that keep us warm and save us from all the difficulties. She forgets all her sorrows and lives for her child. As today is Mother’s Day, we must all pledge to make our mothers happy not only on this particular day, but for the rest of our lives.

In the end, I would like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers present here and I truly seek God’s grace and protection for them so that they keep up with their challenging role always.

Speech on Mother – 2

From the time we enter this world till we are carried off by the death, we come across many relationships in our lives. Some are just for a while, some deceive us and some leave us when we need them the most and some are with us because of their self-seeking attributes. But the one being that surpasses the care, affection and love of everybody for a person is the “Mother”. She is the best trainer and guide of every child. She teaches us on how to take those first steps of our lives, how to speak, write and the behavioural lessons which help us to become better adults and well conduct ourselves in this world.

Speech on Mother – 3

Good Morning everybody!

A very warm welcome to you all! Hope you all are doing well and are happy to grace this occasion.

We all are gathered here to talk about the most beautiful and wonderful personality we all have or had in our lives – ‘Mother’, ‘Mom’, ‘Maa’, ‘Amaa’, the words for this most beautiful soul sound similar across most languages and evoke similar connotations of love and warmth. She is the one who is no less than God for her child. Perhaps the physical presence of God was not feasible everywhere because of which He created this idol called ‘Mom’. I identify her as the Goddess of Multitasking, you say a thing or just give it a thought and she does that. From cooking to earning and from pampering to scolding us for our wrongs, she plays her part with utmost love and affection.

Our mother is the creator of our existence, she is the one who has enabled us to feel what exactly life is, she made us alive and has produced virtues within us. Isn’t it?

I believe that she is the string that attaches the entire family together, she motivates us and builds our strength and does everything that has today made us capable of facing this world with dignity, confidence and power.

Mother is the one who frames us, the one who builds us both physically and mentally and empowers us to face the world. She is the sunshine for every child and is always the first person whom we think of in our happy and not so happy times. She is the first thought that comes to our mind when we are unwell, when we are sad, when we are not able to achieve something or when we reach the greatest height of success.

Let’s ask ourselves, isn’t it she the one who flashes before our mind when we feel scared by a thought or lie sick in our bed. Yes! She is the one. From waking up early every morning to packing up our lunch, to those lunch time calls for confirming that we had our lunch or not, it is our mom who tracks us, who tracks our wellbeing. I thank all the mothers for their existence, as they made us who we are today.

Somebody has articulated it well and has said, “Behind every successful man, there is a woman”. I abide by this quote and have no second thought that this woman can be none other than the ‘Mother’. She is the one whose prayers are focussed just for her kids because it is only the Mother who carries the entire world in her and has been blessed with the power to nurture a complete life in her womb that too with intense love and care.

To conclude, I will like all of you to always treat your mom with love and respect. Always be grateful to her as you owe this life to her. Each one of us has this responsibility of respecting and looking after her. You may call it her love or sacrifice, but she is the only one who has made our existence worthwhile.

Love you, Maa!

Speech on Mother – 4

Good Morning All!

It gives me immense pleasure to share my views among all of you about the one who is and shall always be close to my heart “Mother”.

Who is a mother? She is the one who sacrifices all her life for the sake of her children, one who does not sleep the whole night just to let her child have the proper sleep, the one who does not have her meal just to let her child have the complete meal.

The word Mother stands for Magnificent Outstanding Tender Honourable Extraordinary Remarkable. If we have been blessed to live in this beautiful world it is all because of our mother who has gone through the unbearable pain to bring us into this universe. And she is that person who forgets about all her pain just to see the happiness on the face of their children.

Mother, being the supreme lover, loves her child like nothing else in the world. With her unconditional love and affection, she surpasses all the troubles that come across her way. She let nothing to stand in her path when it comes to her child. From the day we step into this world till day we are carried to our final destination we come across many relations – some are to betray you, some to leave us all alone, and some for their own sake. But there is one relation who has no boundaries, no obligations and that is “Motherhood”.

A mother is a one where we deposit all our hurts and worries. The love which a mother holds for her child is just incomparable because she loves her children even at that time when they least deserve to be loved. She is the one who makes ‘home’ out of a house.

A mother is the only non paid worker on this Earth who works 24×7 without asking for a single penny in return. She has no holidays, no breaks, no increments but still she delivers her duties with full dedication.

At last, I just want you all to respect this wonderful gift of God. We should take a pledge not to hurt our mothers and should take utmost care of them as they did during all their lifetime for making our lives even better.

I want to conclude with the words, “MAA, -To the world you are my mother but to me you are my world”.

Eulogy for a mother from a son

4 short, loving, sincere eulogy examples from sons for their mothers

Contributed by: Gary, Australia |James Cecil, USA |Paul Burrows, England |Robin, UK

If you need to write a eulogy for your mother, having examples to read can help a great deal.

Here's four eulogies for mothers written by their sons who've contributed them for publication because they were grateful for the help and inspiration, they'd got from others who'd published theirs.

  • Our mother's love - a eulogy for my mother with storytelling so good you can see the events unfolding.
  • Eulogy for my mother: Helen Davis Cecil - funny, wry and very loving.
  • How to write eulogy when finding the right words is hard - a short, sincere eulogy for a much-loved woman who was the heart of her large family.
  • Eulogy for my mum - an overview of the life of a strong, determined woman who grew up in occupied Europe during WW2 before making England her home, marrying and raising a family.

Seeing what others have done: how they've begun, what kinds of stories they've told, whether they've included any humor or used a quotation, how long they've spoken for, and how they ended - will assist you to get started on the eulogy you need to write.

Our Mother's Love - a eulogy for my mother

This moving tribute for his mother was contributed by Gary, from Perth, Australia, to help and inspire others who have a eulogy to write.

The title of his eulogy, Our Mother's Love, comes from a very popular poem of the same name by American poet, Helen Steiner Rice . In it she describes that love as extraordinary and never-ending.

Gary wholeheartedly agrees. Because, in his opinion, his mother personifies everything talked about in ' Our Mother's Love ', he has used part of the poem to open his eulogy.  That sets the tone for the storytelling to come. Here is his eulogy for her.

Our Mum, our Nan and our friend Valerie

A Mother's Love - poem by Helen Steiner-Rice

A Mother's love is something that no one can explain.

It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain. It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may. For nothing can destroy it or take that love away. —Helen Steiner Rice

I think the last clear exchange my Mother and I had was one night as I was going home, when I said, "I love you, Mum." And Mum replied, "I love you all."

In these last few years, she said that quite a bit. Still, it wasn't always that natural for her, but I've always known how much she loved us.

Nowadays, people say it all the time. Even men say it to their friends but then they also say things like "trust me" and "I'll call you later".

Our Mum's love is pure

The thing is our Mum's love is pure. It does not require words because it's in everything she did and that's real love. Yes, you can feel love, but love is about actions more than it is about what you say, or even feel.

Nan must have known this because not only was our mother what some might describe as a domestic goddess; she not only fed us, but she also spoiled us.

When we needed clothes, they were always on par with everyone else's, which when I think of what our family budget must have been back then, is pretty impressive. But what made us most proud was when we needed defending, her protection could be ferocious.

Nan could be a tough cookie

Of course, no one's perfect and Nan could be a tough cookie sometimes. On one of these rare occasions when I mistakenly called Nan a name I later learned no lady should ever be called pertaining to shape, I found out how tough she could be.

As soon as that word had crossed my lips, I knew it was a mistake. What I didn't know was thinking I could beat her in a race up four flights of stairs to the safety of my bedroom, was another mistake.

But yes, I've always known how much Nan loved us. Relentlessly.

Valerie: brave and strong

Sadly, Nan's childhood was not the same as ours, far from it. Yet where many allow themselves to become bitter, Nan was one of those who just resolved to do better and I'm so proud of her for that too. Instead of these difficulties defeating her they somehow made her brave and strong which is what Valerie means. Brave and strong.

Valerie, our mum, our nan and our friend

That's how Nan was to the very end, she would rather endure the pain than take medication. Just so she wouldn't get drowsy. So, she could be THERE with us as long as possible.

I don't believe many in the medical staff ever expected Nan to last to Mother's Day, let alone her birthday, but she got there and kept on going because that's who Valerie is, our Mum, your Nan, or your friend. Brave and strong.

You never know what you've got until it's gone

They say YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'VE GOT UNTIL IT'S GONE. But I really did think I knew how good and wonderful she was, but I ACTUALLY didn't until this happened.

Nan took everything life threw at her and just kept coming back for more. Throughout this battle Nan did all she could do to hang on whilst at the same time keeping her spirits high for us and she never complained once. We've been amazed and inspired by her. Now I realize that within the tragedy of Nan's final chapter she left a hidden gift. Inspiration.

Quote from eulogy for a mother from a son

So, rest in peace Mum. We will think of you and miss you. And when I say, 'think of you', I mean every day, and when I say, 'miss you', I mean always. I love you, Mum.

Comments from readers

Gary's heartfelt eulogy for his mother has been read by, and inspired, many people since I posted it. Some of them have taken the time to comment. Here's what they've said:

"Thank you for this beautiful tribute to your Mom. It helped me so much. Truly inspiring!"

"That was so heartfelt! Great choice of words. Good job, and you inspired me to use parts of the poem in my own speech for my mother!"

"Simply beautiful! I would be proud being your mother."

Lecia wrote: "Thank you for this beautiful piece... It is exactly the story and life of my mum. Reading it just made me cry more. Please, is it okay to use a part of the poem and some lines from your write up? It would really help me. Thank you again."

I ( Susan ) the owner-operator of this site responded to Lecia:  "It's Susan here - the person who runs this website. Of course you can take what you need. It's there to help. We're glad that you found it."

And then Gary, the eulogy writer, answered her too. He said: "I'm so pleased that you connect with some of these sentiments. Along with the site owner, I'd also love for you to take anything from my eulogy that you'd like as it's this site that gave me the momentum I needed just to get started.

One thing I'd like others to know is that it helped me greatly to have a photo of mum nearby as I worked on it. I just started talking to her and thinking about her and everything poured out so easily. Perhaps a photo would help you too. I hope it does. Take care."

A friend of the family, Sandra Gager, wrote: Gary such a beautiful tribute to your Mother.  And yes, I remember Valarie always with a smiling face, and a friendly welcome. That's something that rubbed off on her children. She's a truly beautiful person who will be missed dearly.

Angela says: "Very moving, and how very true of a Mother's love. It also sums up my Mother. Thank you for sharing such a special poem.

And this is what I ( Susan ) said after I received it from Gary: "Thank you. You've given us a wonderful picture of your Mum. I can see her - strong, no-nonsense and so proud of her children. An inspiring woman!

Eulogy for my mother: Helen Davis Cecil

James Cecil, from Baltimore, Maryland, USA, contributed the eulogy he wrote for his mother. On receipt of it I replied saying:

'This is beautiful, loving, funny, wry and moving. You got me with your ending. It's exquisite. Thank you!'

Here it is.

My mother, the liberated woman

My mother was a liberated woman, and she liked to talk, a lot.

And she especially liked to quote her mother, my grandmother, Marie A. Davis: the original liberated woman. Marie would say to her; “Sissy, when I'm gone, I don't want any tears.”

So recently, Helen said to me, "James, when I'm gone, I don't want you to cry. There's no crying in baseball."

She liked that, so she said it a lot. "Well," I finally told her; "that's not gonna happen Helen." She looked irritated, and said, “Don't you think I know that? And another thing: no tears at my party."

I can tell you this: she knew a lot. She always had large thoughts; and she had her own, unique brand of wisdom...with no filter.

My brother Bobby says, “She's never had an unspoken thought." But we all agreed; although it wasn't always easy, there was a lot to like.

Helen loved many things

Collage of things Helen loved: Camelot, WB Yeats, La Boheme, scrabble, Baltimore, JFK, American football quarterback

If I ever knew anyone impassioned about everything; it was her. She loved many things. She loved her friends. She loved her family; all of us.

She loved: Camelot, William Butler Yeats and Everybody Loves Raymond , (an American television sitcom).

She loved: La Boheme, Moonstruck, JFK and Jackie; and Johnny Unitas, (an American football player).

She loved: tap dancing, Scrabble; cheating at Scrabble.

She loved buying herself things on QVC , (Quality Value Convenience - An American free-to-air television shopping channel) and returning them. I think she liked buying them more than having them.

She loved The Prime Rib  (a Baltimore restaurant), Pikesville Rye Whisky, Milwaukee's best lite. (It tasted like real beer, she said).

And she loved all things poetic.

She loved BAL, (Baltimore, the city where she lived), and NPR, ( National Public Radio  - An American non-profit media organization). And she liked crab cakes fried; not broiled.

But of all these treasures she loved the four of us, her children, the most. There was never a day we didn't know that.

She loved “ The Catholic High of Baltimore ". In her yearbook she was called Dave. Below her picture were the words: vim, vigor and vitality. And below that, her listed ambition was to review a Russian ballet. And you know, I think she did.

She loved beauty. And she loved love. She knew both very well. She was deep in knowing that love and beauty often reside on the border of anguish.

Ode to Freedom -1989

On Christmas night in 1989 she insisted that we, as a family take in a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, on the tube. The title, “Ode to Joy,” was replaced with “Ode to Freedom.” This was a big deal - and she was worldly.

Wikimedia Commons image: West and East Germans at the Brandenburg Gate 1989

There on the screen, the Berlin Wall was cracked open and thousands of East Germans poured through to be united with their brothers, sisters and children. She believed in the power of human spirit and talents, especially literature and music.

This event, if you could call it that, lay on the heels of yet, another Christmas morning where her children and grandchildren; and many friends would be the recipients of her most beautiful handmade quilts and sweaters; all of these designed to warm and hold each of us in her love. This was Helen.

Over the last months

Over the last months, my brothers: Bob and Thomas, and myself would visit with her as often as we could. One day she asked us if we thought my brother Billy would be there to greet her in heaven. Bobby said, I don't think so. She laughed.

Image: dandelion. Text: We watched her outspoken signature fade.

We watched her outspoken signature fade. Discussion and debate were replaced by reflection, not necessarily of the past, but rather of the here and now.

She was in there; listening to Bobby’s enthusiasm as he shared with all of us, his sixty some year-old perspective on being a student again- studying art of the great impressionists. She loved that.

Thomas and Tracy's travels to Salzburg and Italy: and most recently to Scotland would fill the room. No one can tell a story quite like Thomas.

Sometimes I would read her poems. Her favorites were love poems by Pablo Neruda. Although she had loved and lost, she was never cynical about a good love story.

And then, there were the recipes; they always found their way into the room as well. This assembly of thought by us, her children - as she lay there; still taking it in; still learning was something she cherished until the very end.

So, Helen - if I shed a tear; if any of us shed a tear, it is not sad; but rather like the ones that you loved to shed yourself many times when you were held by something beautiful.

How to write eulogy when finding the right words is hard

Paul Burrows, from Southend, England begins his eulogy for his mother talking about the gulf between what we feel and what we want to say. Sometimes, he says, it is unbridgeable, because finding the right words is difficult.

This is something I know many people struggle with. Paul's answer to the dilemma is to acknowledge the gap and press on regardless. The result is a short, very loving eulogy which, because he has generously shared it, will help and inspire others who are similarly stuck for words.

Sometimes - a eulogy for my mother

Sometimes, the distance between what we think and what we want to say is unbridgeable. And no matter how much we arrange and re-arrange the words they can never convey how we really feel inside.

Each person present today knows how affected they have been by my mother – both in life and in death. Those impressions are too minute and delicate to be substantiated in language.

But with your patience, I shall try.

It is fair to say my mother’s early life was very fruitful. From 1954 until 1969 she bore five sons and three daughters. We all muddled along nicely in a modest three-bedroom house. I can’t remember wanting for anything except perhaps a room of my own. And there was always food on the table even if it was just cheese and crackers.

Unfortunately, through no fault of her own, my mother was left to raise the family by herself.

Struggling to make ends meet doesn’t come close to describing her new circumstances. And yet, whenever a birthday came around …

  • April (David + Sandra)
  • May (Bryan)
  • July (Vanessa)
  • August (Sylvia)
  • September (Jonathan)
  • October (Paul)
  • November (Robert)

…there was always something to unwrap.

Image: heart shaped family group. Text in center: Mother - She was never happier than when she was surrounded by family.

If she was pleased when a member of the family left home to make a new life it did not show. In fact, I think she was very upset. She was never happier than when surrounded by her family.

Tragically, in 1978, after a long illness and a brave fight, my brother Jonathan died. He was 17. We should take comfort in the belief that he is reunited with his mum after all these years.

My brothers and sisters formed partnerships of their own. Some set up homes nearby whereas other traveled further afield. Grandchildren arrived and kept arriving. There were 19 when I last counted.

Looking back at old family photographs there are very few of my mum by herself. It was her family that defined her and the values which she fought so long and so hard for - values that she tried to instill in us so that we might instill them in our own families.

Her devotion also extended to the partners of her sons and daughters.

Special credit must go to Ian, Sandra's husband, who gave up so much of his time to make my mother’s home and garden as comfortable and as beautiful as possible.

My mother may not have led the life she fully deserved. But she found happiness and fulfillment in helping and taking care of those around her. For that we are truly thankful.

Eulogy example for my Mum

This last example eulogy for a mother (mum * ) from her son was contributed by Robin from the United Kingdom (UK).

Through the stories he shares we get more than a glimpse of a strong, courageous and positive woman who is determined to make the best of whatever life brings her.

Like the first example, this too begins with an excerpt from Helen Steiner Rice's poem: Our Mother's Love.

It ends with a moving extract from the letter Robin's mother wrote for him to read after her death.

*mum. The word 'mum' is an informal word for mother that is commonly used in the UK. Mom is its American equivalent.

Mum - a eulogy for my mother

A Mother's love is something that no one can explain,

It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may, For nothing can destroy it or take that love away. —Helen Steiner Rice -

It would be possible to write a book of Mum's life. Its chapters would have each of us here present somewhere in it.

She has already shared some amusing bits with my children. Just ask them later about the time when I was quite small and swallowed a stone!

Image: war plane illustration Text: ...her early teenage years were marked with foreign occupation and British bombings.

Her childhood was not as conventional as ours. She was born in Austria in 1928. Her young years were simple, and she enjoyed holidays up in the mountains.

However, her early teenage years were marked with foreign occupation and British bombings. She told me of the time when she and her close school friend Wanda both having joined the Red Cross were allowed free movement around the town of Graz during bombing raids. This often got them very close to serious trouble and they would be stuck in bomb shelters for many hours. For them it was an adventure.

In spite of the war Mum was still able to continue her schooling and excelled particularly in English language. She told me that practicing the English ‘TH' sound required a number of sheets newspaper being placed on the desk in front of them before starting. The wet newspapers were then dried after every lesson!

She came to England more than 65 years ago, at a time when all of Europe was being rebuilt from the ravages of war, to join some of her Austrian family who were here already. They were able to love, encourage and help her along. England became her future and home.

Mum understood the need for security, worked hard, loved us and her garden.

Because of her childhood experience she understood the need for security. When Mum married, she ensured my brother Charlie, and I had a secure and loving home.

She worked hard and had a generosity of spirit - always wanting to provide us children with the things she was never able to have in her early life. She would often remind us how things had been during the war and how slowly things had improved at home in Austria.

Over the years when Dad was not well, Mum studied and trained as a Special Needs Teacher and pursued a full-time teaching career. When he died this was her independence and career for the future.

With brother Charlie and me, both married and away from home, Mum eventually remarried and continued teaching. Sadly, her husband, Bob, died some years ago.

Image: water-color roses. Text: Mum loved to spend time in her garden.

Mum loved to spend time in her garden. There always plenty to do and in no way would she move to anywhere else to live. She had very precious friendships and support was always there for her from her neighbors on both sides. She wanted and was able to spend the last days of her life at home. Regular walks down the garden kept her mobile.

Her health has over a few years had a number of setbacks. Despite that she took everything that was thrown at her and always bounced back. Her ability to keep going, strength and resilience has even amazed the hospital medical staff in the last few weeks of her life.

Instead of these difficulties defeating her they somehow made her stronger. Although becoming more fragile in body and mind, there were times that her love for her sons and wider family brought her through difficult moments.

My mother's last letter

I have in the last few days opened a letter to me, from Mum, written nearly 10 years ago especially for this time. I finish with part of the that, which has these words from her…

Life is so fragile, short and very precious. All my Love and Blessings to you all. My Spirit will be with you forever. I thank God for my Blessing in having such wonderful sons and for their wonderful families.

26 Beautiful Mother's Day Poems That Will Make Mom Feel Loved

Look no further for the perfect message for your Mother's Day card.

mothers day poems mother holding daughter

Tell Mom just how much you care with a pre-written poem from the likes of poets such as Rupi Kaur and Helen Steiner Rice, or use these beautiful poems as inspiration to write your own sentimental message to Mom, with personalized names, places, and memories to make it extra special. Either way, these poems make for the perfect addition to a Mother’s Day card or Mother’s Day caption accompanying your social media post about her. For the truly brave, you can recite the poem directly to her, either in-person or over the phone — though, the reading may get a bit teary-eyed in the best way possible.

Alongside these poems of love , make sure to do something for Mom to make her day even sweeter, such as serving her breakfast in bed , making her a DIY Mother’s Day gift , or working alongside your kid or sibling to make her a handmade Mother’s Day craft. Above all, make sure Mom knows just how much she is loved — after all, she deserves it.

“Tribute to Mother”

best mother's day poems by john greenleaf whittier

A picture memory brings to me; I look across the years and see Myself beside my mother's knee. I feel her gentle hand restrain My selfish moods, and know again A child's blind sense of wrong and pain. But wiser now, a man gray grown, My childhood's needs are better known. My mother's chastening love I own. — John Greenleaf Whittier

“To My Mother”

best mother's day poems by robert louis stevenson

You too, my mother, read my rhymes For love of unforgotten times, And you may chance to hear once more The little feet along the floor.

— Robert Louis Stevenson

“Sonnets Are Full of Love”

best mother's day poems by christina rossetti

Sonnets are full of love, and this my tome Has many sonnets: so here now shall be One sonnet more, a love sonnet, from me To her whose heart is my heart’s quiet home, To my first Love, my Mother, on whose knee I learnt love-lore that is not troublesome; Whose service is my special dignity, And she my loadstar while I go and come And so because you love me, and because I love you, Mother, I have woven a wreath Of rhymes wherewith to crown your honored name: In you not fourscore years can dim the flame Of love, whose blessed glow transcends the laws Of time and change and mortal life and death.

— Christina Rossetti

"Mother"

best mother's day poems by lola ridge

Your love was like moonlight turning harsh things to beauty, so that little wry souls reflecting each other obliquely as in cracked mirrors . . . beheld in your luminous spirit their own reflection transfigured as in a shining stream, and loved you for what they are not. You are less an image in my mind than a luster I see you in gleams pale as star-light on a gray wall . . . evanescent as the reflection of a white swan shimmering in broken water.

— Lola Ridge

“Mother o’ Mine”

best mother's day poems by rudyard kipling

If I were hanged on the highest hill, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! I know whose love would follow me still, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! If I were drowned in the deepest sea, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! I know whose tears would come down to me, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky, Hundreds of shells on the shore together, Hundreds of birds that go singing by, Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather. The water of her womb, your first home The body she pulled apart to welcome you to the world. The spirit in you she helped grow with all she knew. The heart that she gave you when yours fell apart. How did you find the energy, Mom To do all the things you did, To be teacher, nurse and counselor To me, when I was a kid. How did you do it all, Mom Be a chauffeur, cook and friend? "My Heart"

mothers day poems sharlynn n manning

She's always been there for me. Just talking to her can make me happy. She tells me of the hard times she's been through In hopes that I won't go through them, too. She's an independent woman of stature and grace. She has beautiful eyes and a lovely face, An audacious strength from deep inside. In her I know I can confide. She's my guardian angel who'll always be A very special part of me. She takes pride in caring for her kin. She gives us hope and things to believe in. If I didn't have her there for me, I wouldn't be half the woman I turned out to be.

"Dear Mother"

mothers day poems herman vymislicky

I'm writing you to tell you that I love you Something I hardly ever do. I never tell you enough how much I love you and It's something I must do. I need to let you know mother how much You really mean to me So I'm telling you now you mean the world to me. I need to thank you for all you do for me. Your unconditional love toward me means a lot to me. You've never turned your back on me and I know it's something you'll never do. Anytime I need someone to talk to You're always there to help me through

And anytime I need a favor you always seem To be there, too There's nothing in this world that I could do To pay you back for all you do. When God gave me to you, That's the best thing he could ever do, So this poem is dedicated to you Because I don't know how else to say Thank You.
