If Apple Watch troubles Update app

EDIT: their last update when installed fixed the issue :) I love the Lutron system, so reliable, besides this temporary Watch issue, never any issues. The Lutron app was working on my Apple Watch for half a year perfectly. Now for the past month I get this error “Please use the Lutron app on your phone to configure this home for your Zappel Watch.” So I go to the app and the Watch is already enabled under settings. There is nothing else to “configure “ besides turning the slider to on/off and which scenes/devices are enabled. To troubleshoot I go to the Apple Watch app, and remove Lutron as an app installed on the phone. Then I install Lutron back to the phone, and voila! It works again. But it only works one time. The next time I try to use Lutron app on the Watch, I get the same error again. I’ve been thru this cycle 4-5 times now. Please help fix the Watch app issue and I’m happy to turn this review back to 5 stars! I use the Watch app daily it’s more convenient than the phone app.

Caseta switches are great. App User interface could be improved

I’ve been a long time user of the Caseta dimmer switches and think that they’re great. Very reliable and easy to install as they’re one of the only switches that don’t require a neutral wire. The little chiclet remotes are are a great way to control the lights, and I also make use of the geofencing in the app. The Sonos integration is a nice little touch too. The one thing that developers could do to improve the app would be to change the interface so that touching the appropriate icon would turn the light on or off, and a long hold or firm touch of the ‘button’ would bring up the slider for the dimming function. This is how Wink controls lights. As it is currently the app requires too many taps on the screen just to turn a light on or off- tap to expand the room list, tap the light to bring up the dimming slider, then tap or hold a button to dim or turn on and off. That’s overly involved. Also it was easy for me to name and control lights with Alexa when doing so through Wink. Not so much with the Lutron app. Users should be given more ability to control naming of lights, and use of icons rather than the somewhat rigid and limited selection within the app.

Highly recommend the Caseta System

I’m very happy with the new CasetaSwitches and the ability to add a additional smart bridge on my same property at my Pool house which is over 100 feet from my homeThat my original SmartBridge had trouble connecting to the devices at the pool house now everything works perfectly. I am a electrician and used to use the X 10 switches which had issues in high end residential areas where the neighbors also had the X 10 and if they programmed there a setting on the X 10 which happened many of times The neighbor and my client were both controlling the light at my clients house. So anyways I’m very happy that the upgraded to a better system which is the Caseta .👍 This system could also be linked to other systems like Ring so if your ring camera senses someone in your backyard or wherever you can program it to turn on any device that you have a Caseta installed

HomeWorks QS with Connect App

The Lutron Connect Bridge creates a link between HomeWorks QS and the cloud, enabling control, integration, and monitoring of a HomeWorks QS system from a smartphone or tablet using the Lutron Connect app.

Using the App

Integrating RING Devices to the Lutron App

Knowledge article contents, section (1):  feature overview.

• Motion events and doorbell presses can control separate lighting zones (ex. Motion events turn on external lights, doorbell press turns on foyer light)
• You can specify that Ring events will only turn lights on "at night" (after sunset, but before sunrise)
• You can also manually disable and re-enable a previous programmed Ring event.
• ​Ring events will always send Lutron lighting zones to 100% brightness when triggered (on level is not configurable)
• If the zone level changes within that 15 minute window (timeclock, button press, any other user action), then the timeout is canceled.​

Section (2):  System Requirements

Lutron lighting systems caseta with hub (formerly bridge) l-bdg2-wh or pro l-bdgpro2-wh.

• Lutron Hub firmware version must be  at least 08.03.xx  for the feature to work

Lutron App version must be  at least 7.3.x  for the feature to work. 

Video Doorbells  

Security cameras, note: for floodlight cameras, lutron cannot control built-in floodlights. but we can use the camera to turn on lutron controlled lights when it detects motion., network requirements:.

• At configuration time (initial linking of Lutron and Ring accounts & programming which Ring devices control which lighting zones), the mobile app MUST have an internet connection and the hub MUST have an internet connection.
• At runtime (doorbell rings or motion events actually turning on lights), the hub and Ring device MUST have an internet connection.

Section (3):  How to link RING to the Lutron App

• In Lutron App go to Settings > Add Device > and click  "Works with Ring"

• You will see an onboarding screen. Select   "Link Ring Account"

• Authorize -> Ring Device

Section (4) Programming the Ring Cameras to the Caseta Lights with the Lutron App

• After linking the accounts you should see a screen similar to the one below

When you click on any of the above options, you will be able to set up Lutron programming for your Ring devices. In these screens, you can choose which lights to turn on for the associated Ring device and whether this programming should happen all the time or whether it should only be effective at night.

UNDP and the European Union to provide 15,000 additional respirators to meet rising demand

Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, 2 October 2020 – The European Union, together with the United Nations Development Programme, has donated an additional batch of 15,000 N95 valveless respirators to the Donetsk Oblast Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine Centre in Kramatorsk and Clinical Hospital in Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast.

UNDP Resident Representative Dafina Gercheva said that in the face of the rapidly worsening epidemiological situation in Ukraine, it is very important to ensure there is the proper protection for health workers, who risk their own health every day while treating patients.

“We're very grateful to all medical workers in eastern Ukraine who, despite the danger and high risks of contracting COVID-19, continue to do their jobs,” Gercheva said. “Thanks to cooperation with the European Union, we're continuing to protect doctors and build the capacity of medical institutions in eastern Ukraine, so they can more effectively respond to those in need.”

Stefan Schleuning, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Ukraine, referred to joint efforts of the EU and national and international partners to withstand the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine. “We sincerely thank the doctors and medical staff of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions for their daily work in these extreme conditions. The European Union will continue to support economic and social recovery in eastern Ukraine and help ensure the safety of healthcare workers”, said Mr. Schleuning.

The N95 respirator can block up to 95 percent of the smallest aerosol particles and filter the air, which may contain viruses and bacteria. This respirator provides better protection than a surgical mask or homemade protective equipment, as it fits tightly over the face and can filter out both large and small air particles.

Ihor Kiiashko, Head of the Regional Centre for Emergency Care and Disaster Medicine, thanked the international partners for responding to the needs of doctors the ongoing crisis. “This new shipment of N95 respirators will further bolster our defences and strengthen the resilience of the emergency medicine system in these difficult times,” he said.

The total cost of supplying the respirators is US$46,346, and was carried out under the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme, with financial support from the European Union.

The United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme (UN RPP) is being implemented by four United Nations agencies: the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Thirteen international partners support the Programme: the European Union (EU), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, and the governments of Canada, Denmark, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
